1241  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get money? on: June 13, 2014, 11:07:25 PM
do article sites still make any money?

you mean like hubpages, and stuff like that? i think if you are well-established, you can get some money together, but i tried that stuff about a year ago and got nowhere.

i guess you have to pick untapped topics as well eh?

i suppose. but my feeling is that's easier said than done. i feel like there are just so many millions of people trying to make money the same exact way -- it's very saturated. back in 2008, blogging was a gold mine. now, not so much.

It really all comes down to how much traffic you have. It can be any site, for example a site which would stream world cup (not legal I think), but you get the idea  Smiley The difficulty is to have a site in which many people are interested.

I agree, blogging is not a goldmine anymore. But perhaps if you are a famous moviestar, blogging is still worth a lot  Cheesy

1243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin save the music industry? on: June 13, 2014, 10:38:41 PM
I was wondering if it would be possible to store music on the blockchain the same way the ledger is stored? Then you could sell private keys that give a program access to the data so that the music can be streamed directly from the blockchain? Is this kind of thing possible with bitcoin or another alt-coin in the future? Because this would have positive impact on the music industry as well as any other industry that are having issues with piracy. I'm just trying to stay informed about the potential impact of this technology.

Music copying will be possible, even if music is streamed. One could record directly from the sound output.  Back in the 80s people could did that, and that will always work.

I think the music industry needs to change business model, the current model is not sustainable. For example, an ad-based model. Place ads on a site where you can listen your songs. Each time a fan listens a song online, you get paid by the ads.  Or incorporate ads inside your mp3s (or lyrics) that people can download for free, paid by customer companies. An alternative is the Google data collection business model. To go against copying is a dead end, we are reaching the technological state where we can make atom based movies and store data inside dna.
1244  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What good things has Obama had since he is elected ? on: June 13, 2014, 05:04:35 PM
Barack Obama has executed a whole lot of tasks.. However, the best of the lot is the killing of terrorist Osama Bin Laden and the end of war in Iraq.

The war is not over, the U.S. may not be fighting it any longer but it is not over. I dono if you have been hiding under a rock these last couple of days or not. I can almost promise you more U.S. troops are about to be sent to Iraq for "training" and then it will progress. Why do I say it will progress? The ISIS, "islamic state in Iraq" will go ape shit if the US returns and will increase fighting, and send in more fighters.
The U.S. rules of engagement will change as soon as U.S. outpost are attacked, thus escalating the situation further.

I think it is also part of the plan, we will see more troops going to Iraq soon; USD inflation keeps continuing and many people don't get wage raised  Smiley The politicans have to solve this somehow, and I think they will do it by means of war (as they had done at the time of the great depression).

The drilldown of this article: http://www.space.com/26231-extroverts-long-term-space-missions.html?cmpid=514630_20140613_25890676

1) The extrovert is gonna get bored on a long, monotonous space mission where he sees the same faces every day.
2) He could wind up being the unpopular one because he talks too much.

So maybe introverts might work better for, say, a one-way trip to Mars.

I think both types will talk a lot at first, as such trip is very uncommon. Many people would talk, simply because of what they experience

Maybe so, but after about two or three months, the introvert will get annoyed when the extrovert won't shut up about people and things that have absolutely nothing to do with the mission. We heard about your cousin's crazy ex-wife three times already.

Hmm.. this seems right. I think people would sleep during a Mars mission, its a long trip (35-60 million miles if I am not mistaken).

I bet. There was even talk that we could possibly put a crew into hibernation during transit. Though it may be a good idea to have one person who doesn't mind being alone for about six months stay awake in case something goes wrong. Then he can either fix it, or wake up somebody who can.

To stay awake for 6 months straight is not possible, you will have 'blackouts' where you fall asleep for 1 or 2 hours. Its possible to go 1-2 months without sleep using a lot of pills;
Correct me if I'm wrong

1249  Economy / Economics / Re: Would u pay in bitcoin? on: June 13, 2014, 04:39:42 PM
Majority of people are lazy and also, not so many have wallets on their smartphones and also I can't find items to be paid for using BTC IRL.

Hmmm I don't know about AFK, but for me.. it allows me the possibility to purchase things abroad online without any troubles. So in a way, bitcoin is the lazy solution to visa for me  Smiley
1250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the West gearing up to invade Russia once again? on: June 13, 2014, 04:33:38 PM
you cant invade russia just like that.
first of all think of all the alliances in the world.. if there was to start a war , it would be ww3, no doubt about it.
imho they will play war with restrictions and finances, like they did so far

Agree, Russia is huge, the climate is unusual and there are more than 140 million people.  In addition, there is a large military force, nuclear weapons and what not..
I don't see it is in the interest of the people to have a world war 3,  where millions of people would die. But maybe Hillary likes that to solve the financial crisis  Smiley
1251  Economy / Economics / Re: Silkroad seized bitcoins to impact price? on: June 13, 2014, 04:29:33 PM
I'm enough worried about price of Bitcoin because the news that U.S. Government  wants to sell 30.000 BTC yesterday evening had drop the price of 60$ !

So, only time will give us the answer !

The price change could have been caused by something else. News and price are not always directly correlated

So please, you can teach me why price of Bitcoin is dropped when the news of U.S. Government which wants to sell Bitcoin after only few minutes?

Thank you  Smiley

Yes, I would pay in bitcoin because it is much easier than PayPal or any of those systems.
1255  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iraq Isis Crisis: Medieval Sharia Law Imposed on Millions in Nineveh Province on: June 13, 2014, 04:22:47 PM
Trying to civilize a group of savages who would rather live in the 11th century instead of the 21st was a waste of American blood and money.

Who attempted that?

Civilization was never the goal of the Iraq war. Unless by civilization you mean 'in the (financial/strategic) interests of the US'

1256  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm in love! on: June 13, 2014, 04:18:11 PM
Plz can you give me suggestion about how to tell feeling to lady ? i fall in love in first sight.

but it so pleasure from the one can give from one expert on love

before you tell something to her make sure that your feeling is real what i mean is think for 1000x and give your self atleast 2 weeks or more to find out if its really love at first sight or list at first sight lol no seriously girls nowadays will not fall for that the best thing is make friends with her after a week of being friends ask her out on a friendly date like having snacks on the mall chill out along with her some other friends in that way you will be able to get to know her
telling her that you love her by just seeing her will surely make her stay away from you
This would likely happen, be careful with what you say  Smiley
1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to get alt coins? on: June 13, 2014, 02:32:29 PM
How to get starting alt coins? In units, not 0.00001 or so; Exchanges do not include altcoins before they grow big.
Are there alt coin faucets or something like this?
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why 51% hashrate is a good thing on: June 13, 2014, 02:28:05 PM
if a single entity contributed the majority of the network’s mining hashrate, they would have full control of the network and would be able to manipulate the public ledger (blockchain) at will.  http://learncryptography.com/51-attack/

This is just wrong. Having 51% (or better: 50,0001%) just opens up the possibility of pushing through a fork, e.g. double-spending your own(!) coins.
And there's no way they could do so in secret. Hell would break loose within hours if not minutes. Ghash.io could only hurt itself
with such an attempt.

To have full control and freely manipulate the public ledger you need 100% and all private keys.

I understand that it looks a bit nasty that ghash.io grew that big, but I don't see how this poses a serious threat at this point..

I'd have to agree with you for the time being.  Obviously, it's not good to "trust" any site. But i highly doubt anything will happen. They're making WAY too much money off having this much control of the network.

ok, had copied it from the site  Smiley Makes sense they can't spend the money without owning the private keys
1259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [2014-06-10] Government grabs $360 million from idle household bank accounts on: June 13, 2014, 02:08:33 PM
Is this real? I don't believe it.

probably real, similar stuff happened in Greece, Cyprus and many other countries.
The general trend is now, profits are for a select few, losses have to paid by society... strange way to run a business if you ask me.
1260  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is dead ! GHash over 51%, SR Seized coins and Mtgox coins, China Ban etc on: June 13, 2014, 02:05:34 PM
MtGox is history.
SR is history, new markets have opened that are way bigger than SR ever was. (so I've heard)
China is making profit on BTC, they wont ban  Smiley
