1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane on: March 05, 2023, 08:15:59 AM
We are a few days out from UFC 285 and the main event is Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane.

I think Jon Jones is going to win this fight comfortably and is a deserved favourite going in.

Although Jones is 18kg (almost 40 pounds) lighter, he has a much longer reach advantage.

I have watched a lot of Ciryl and to be honest I wasn't very impressed. He struggled against Ngannou and was dropped by Tuivasa.

I think Jon Jones makes a statement and may even submit Gane.

I'm curious on what everybody else thinks.

Please post your predictions below.

I'm surprised by your prediction Jnes makes a statement by submitting Ciryl Gane, it is one of the easiest fights I've seen in the heavyweight division, Jones did not even get a sweat, and Gane did not even offer resistance, not the kind of fight I want to see on Gane, it did not live up to my expectation and I guess all the fans, I'm sure Jones has a huge advantage but I don't think he can win this fight so easily.
I love to see UFC make an offer to Ngannou for a one-time fight because Ngannou is the lineal champion.

At first though it looks like the choke is not that deep, but replay shows otherwise, you can look at Gane's face and you can clearly see he is on pain with Jones putting him to sleep.

And the way he take him down, his just like the LHW version, very agile and yet can take anyone if he wanted to just like that.

I do agree, end for discussion as who is the best in this generation.
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 05, 2023, 07:59:56 AM
Couple of upsets tonight:

Bucks losing to Philly, ending their winning streak. Joel Embiid put a sensational defense on Giannis in the fourth quarter and then together with Harden, outscored them in the final quarter, 48-31.

Sacramento losing to the Wolves - very close game between the two, but Anthony Edwards and former Utah Mike Conley seal the win for them Wolves.

1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Solana failure resistant? on: March 04, 2023, 09:15:35 PM
As others have pointed out, Solana has been done several times since it's existence. So they are not failure resistant. But there could be projects that runs <100%.

And if I'm not mistaken, LTC for example is 100% and Bitcoin at 99.98%.

Probably there is no perfect blockchain or failure resistance project specially those that are centralized like Solana.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: Silvergate Bank share drops 50%, Major Crypto Clients Stops ACH operations on: March 04, 2023, 08:50:22 PM
If major crypto players like Coinbase, Circle, Paxos, and others are leaving the bank due to suspicious activities and unclean books, it could indicate serious problems with the bank's operations and management. This could lead to financial losses and even bankruptcy for the bank, which would be a significant event for the crypto sphere and the broader financial industry.

Everyone is trying to distance themselves from Silvergate, they don't want their names to associated with it so as early as when the news broke out about the bankruptcy, they leave or let everyone knows that they are not connected to it.

And this is the reason why we plunge this week, when we are trying to break that $25k barrier, this news comes in.

The good part is that it didn't affect us like the Terra Luna or FTX news, we are very much in the think of the bull run of sort above $22k. And it seems that the news have settled down a bit, so maybe we can still go back to that $24k price range again.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambler has 100% trust in each stake on: March 04, 2023, 03:02:14 PM

My question now is, As a gambler would you give 100% to a stake that you trust?

If you are putting money on a team and think that they can win, then you put 100% on them. But the question is, can they really win the game? what if there are circumstances like injuries during that game that made them lose?

Or even if the odds are high for them to lose, suddenly they play very bad?

So as much money as you put in them, it's not going to be 100% sure that they are going to win.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 04, 2023, 02:03:05 PM

On the other side, Magsayo has been winning and fighting year to year. Absolutely no stopping him! Aside from his one recent loss, his track record is way better. Obviously he is going to win this fight with certainty.

He lost though so he is stop on his track, so both are coming from a lost, and so the winner will obviously bounce back with a big win here.

I would be happy if Magsayo wins this match. He is listed as the underdog, so for us bettors, this is a great opportunity to bet and make a decent return if Magsayo does indeed win. However, I would not say 'certainly' because Magsayo has not been that impressive in his previous fights, even in fights that he has won. Therefore, I want to see a major improvement, a matured Magsayo that knows how to time his opponent to win.

I agree mate, we will back up Magsayo here, I think it was just a bad and nightmare match up against Rey Vargas, but in this case if he will face a brawler, he has a good chance to get that one hit he needed to score a knockout.

So it's good if we are going to bet on Mark as he is a huge underdog. 3:1 is not that bad for us for a win. Yes, for sure he has learn a lot from his lost against Vargas and could improved a lot in this fight.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 04, 2023, 01:29:35 PM
What an ugly game between the Clippers and the Kings, Sacramento took a double digit lead by the Clippers comes back and take a 1 point lead. Then Sabonis sinking FT to take back and then Paul George missing the 3 in the last seconds that could have give them the W.

So still winless for the Clippers since acquiring Westbrook although he had a good game again as a Clipper and he was dare to shoot a 3 and made 1.

Clippers now down to 8th spot, as the Wolves won over the Lakers tonight, surpassing them.

I was cheering for Sacramento Kings in this game. I was a bit nervous when Paul George became hot in the remaining last minute of the game. Luckily, he was not able to convert his last shot that would have ended the Clippers' losing streak. Westbrook performed well although his lack of 3-point shooting ability will cost part of their offense. 16 more games for the Clippers before the end of the regular season. This is probably the best time to bet during the regular games, especially on the remaining teams that are fighting for their playoff spots.

And now the Kings are on a 5-win streak and are getting near to 2nd seeded Memphis Grizzlies.

The Kings are such a surprise, but they are not a championship team yet. Their defense is not that impressive, but I'm happy that they will be in the playoffs so they can experience playing with teams that have been consistent in the playoffs. For a young team, getting a home court advantage is a good thing as they lack experience.

In my opinion, PG should go for a drive instead of a 3-point shot. Maybe he'll get fouled, and since it's just a one-point game, there's no need for a 3-point shot.

Yes, but you can't deny that they have improved a lot this year. They are just half a game for the second spot as Memphis lost against the top team the Nuggets.

As for PG, he did crossed over Fox if I'm not mistaken, and he has been hot in the fourth quarter and hit on the same spot. It's just unfortunate that when he let go of that shot, it was obvious that it was short and not much spin on that shot as he might be in the hurry to throw it.
1288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In the best interest of investors, Bounties shouldn't be paid in Tokens on: March 03, 2023, 04:46:11 PM
I don't know who needs to hear this but after years of being a bounty hunter and keeping a close eye on how bounties are conducted, it's safe to say most projects make the biggest mistake of paying bounty hunters using their native tokens, why do I say so, well bounty hunters don't share the long term foresight as the project to the point of being a hodler to grow with the company but rather see their bounty payment as a service and will sell the tokens for less to get whatever money they can because they owe nobody anything.Of course, for the project to pay using the tokens is cost cutting but if the project is truly slated for the future, paying using non-tokens is a good signal for a strong project.

Going forward in the best interest of investors and the project itself, hope to see "more" bounties being paid with established coins in this industry.

What do you guys think?

And how are bounty hunters going to be paid? in BTC or ETH?

Doesn't make sense for a project to pay with that crypto since obviously, they are in the beginning stage and trying to win the money of investors, so in the beginning they don't have any and what they can offer is their native token.

So it's not a signal for a good project to pay for non-token, in my opinion.
1289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin history on: March 03, 2023, 04:36:45 PM
#Bitcoin was created 14 years ago to give people across the planet access to a form of money that cannot be inflated nor minipulated",
Dennis Porter founder of Satoshi Act Fund, testified yesterday to the Missouri House of Representatives

It was developed by new modern technology thinkers with P2P clue, when it was first introduced the price was less than a dollar, few people occupied the opportunity and many despite the project. BTC grow from zero to hero in few years of existence and afterwards busted in price in 2009, many begins to invest in the project and in 2017 the price moved to $11k, at this point BTC already made many millionaires and billionaires and many still invest at high price value and achieved good journey to this point.

There is still hope and enough package to come from BTC, keep holding.

https://twitter.com/DocumentingBTC/status/1631090187018043392

And another point of correction is that it is not the first one, you can see where Satoshi took his inspiration at, it was at the footnote of the bitcoin whitepaper. So it was an inspiration from several people.

You taking about hope? we are not that desperate, we are still very much alive, bear and bull market, it's just part of the ecosystem.

Not sure though if you have experience what you are preaching here, that is to HODL.
1290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expectations for March?! on: March 03, 2023, 04:22:51 PM
Beginning in March we again saw a good movement from Bitcoin, there was a significant positive surge, the price of Bitcoin reached $ 24k even though after that there was a correction that occurred but not too deep but we continued to happen then it was a good sign, and I think that if there is nothing big, it is likely that the price of Bitcoin will be stable without any significant price shift.
The price did touch 24k yesterday but wasnt able to sustain and got a sharp fall back to around 23.3k overnight. This phase is getting a bit difficult to predict now Roll Eyes
However I will wait for it to break under 22.7k or above 24.3k to make any one sided decision.
Side note: Yeah, I did lose quite some money on that chop yesterday, but nevermind.
Many analysts predict that we will see sideways still occurring this March and maybe will tend to be bearish because there is still a lot of negative sentiment going on in the market, right now I think we still need to be vigilant and really patient in waiting for the right time to buy, right now the price is already $22K or down about 5% from the previous price in the range of $ 23K, this shows that if indeed the bullish that happened some time ago was not able to break through price resistance and the possibility for the price to bounce down could still occur if indeed the market conditions it doesn't get better soon, to be honest I personally hope my prediction is wrong, but it looks like bitcoin will return again to support at $21K in the near time.

Historically, March is a very bad year for us, I still remember it was the start of a bear market in 2018, all the price really going down hard in that year. Nevertheless, the price is where it should be prior to the FTX collapse that really affected us.

So still very good to be just above $22k, the price level that is neither good or bad. So we can lived with it even if we are still very much positive in the month of January-February, we are still looking for the price to really break $25k barrier, and that should be our target.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Experience on Bulk Bankroll vs Partial Bankroll on: March 03, 2023, 04:02:19 PM
I know we have different style and behavior. Some people might be lucky on bulk bankroll and others is like me who’s lucky on small bankroll. What do you guys use?

Not sure mate, I mean I have used both strategy specially in slot machines, what I do though with the partial bankroll, when I hit a good win I skip and withdraw and go to the next machine and try this strategy again.

As compare to bulk bankroll, sometimes it will really give me a huge win, maybe it's because of the amount of my bankroll. Nevertheless, if I'm careless and didn't withdraw on time, this bankroll will be sweep right away.

So I guess still base on luck.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 03, 2023, 12:19:26 PM
This is why its unlikely that there would be some unjustifiable counts of punches landed and missed out on this one.Lets just see on whose better inside the ring
between these two.

Let's forget that speculation of cheating and anything else. I doubt that will happen in this fight.

Naoya Inoue surely is pissed if something like that happened where the clear winner of the fight won't be the announced winner.

It will also ruin the market of the boxing industry in Japan if such big fights will be associated with cheating.

There will be no cheating speculation in this fight because it will not be decided by the judges. I'm pretty sure one of them will win via KO, but I have doubts it will be Fulton since Inoue has been eliminating boxers that he fought, and I think he will be more aggressive against a champion.

Yes, Inoue has been steam rolling everyone at 118 lbs, and since he has move up to super bantamweight, champion like Fulton is waiting for him. So give credit for Fulton here, he might be really confident and thinks that he need to beat Inoue, and gain the respect.

For Inoue's climbing up, yes, it might not be so difficult for him after all. And it just happen that he will go against one of the best champion in this division, nevertheless, he will be still be the favorite against the American.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 10:01:16 AM

How about the Warriors as well switching gear in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Clippers 42-16 and then somewhat let go of the pedal but still a decent win in the 4th, 28-19. And so the Clippers is still win less when the acquire Westbrook.

Even without Curry, the Warriors are still a tough team. Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole led the Warriors to a big win. The second half belonged to the Warriors as they dominated the Clippers with their efficient shooting. The big news is that the curse continues: Westbrook is now officially 0-4 after joining the Clippers.

I don't know about that curse but it's hard to deny that since Westbrook's arrival, the LA Clippers is now crumbling into pieces and it's like they doesn't know what do anymore as Kawhi missed many opportunities and then PG played much lesser minutes mainly today when he didn't get back on the much needed 4th quarter win to end the day in their favor.

I won't be surprised if Russell Westbrook will be in the free agency this off season as it's very likely that he won't be getting any extension.

Yes, no surprises if Westbrook will stay as a Clipper for just this season.

And the standings are very close from 7th-11th including the Los Angeles Lakers, (Westbrook former team), and again the social media had a field again with this big lost by the Clippers because there is no Curry and Wiggins. And now in their next game, Kawhi might sit, so maybe this will break the curse or will it extend to 0-5 for Westbrook, we will see.
1294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2023, Bullish or Bearish? on: March 02, 2023, 07:14:16 PM
We all have thoughts and according to the current market price i think that very soon BTC will bullish.

Observing Bitcoin's journey in previous years stated that this should have been a bullish year, the changing chart from the beginning of the year gives a sign that Bitcoin's increase will recover this year, it's just that we can't predict accurately, experience in following Bitcoin's journey can only predict according to the graph from year to year, the rest we will see the truth at the end of this year.

I don't know where you get that data, but this year, if we assumed the previous pattern, is that we are still in the bear market. And even if we see some signs of bullishness already like a huge pump in January, still though it's not enough to say that the pattern has been broken.

So don't be excited to see this kind of price increase, we are still in March and many things can happen.

The most important thing is that we should accumulate as much as we can and prepare to hold because the block halving is just around the corner.
1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: March 02, 2023, 06:58:43 PM
Unlike other stablecoins, usdt is a fairly profitable asset and provides real opportunities for keeping your funds on the blockchain.  I personally use trc20.  It also makes it easier for me to trade with ETS and cash out profitably.

I don't know what you mean by profitable since it is a "stable" coin, which mean it is pegged to 1:1 to the US Dollar. Of course, everything is on the blockchain if that is what you imply for crypto.

Personally, I wouldn't say that a trust Tether (USDT), but it is functioning as designed to yeah I'm using it in some shape or form.

And withdrawals are very quick as well, and again, if you wanted to hedge your crypto against the price going down, stable coins is the way.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 02, 2023, 12:26:58 PM

Media always talk about his name he got a legendary status already and any news about him is a big scope for them since there are so many people following an update regarding on his career path. Maybe he really need to win this fight since recently he encounter those upsetting lose and maybe this win is important to him since he can get back the glory as a champ under his name again if he win this.

The dude is about to retire and having an unforgettable win just before he wears out his gloves, will be one of his happiest moments as a pro boxer. Just like any other boxer after they came from a loss, this one is no different and I'm sure he will gonna be putting everything here to give us the most exciting and entertaining fight to remember. Santiago is also lucky to have him as his opponent for that title and if he can beat him because of some lucky punches or something like that, he will still the show and become one of the most popular boxers overnight.

A good win which could leave him a gokd record will be a sign enough for him to decide about his retirement. Of course, they will not quit and retire after a bad loss because they will surely recover from it and would still ask for a rematch.
Regarding Donaire, I hope he could focus on his training now that he's having some issues with his wife and his dad. He really needs to focus after his previous defeats.

Not good to retire coming from a huge lose so I guess Donaire's camp want to get a good victory before he hang up his gloves and announce his full retirement. But as he's eagerness to get more fight it make me also think that he want more maybe just for the sake of money since getting a match give him a good pay cuts so I guess there's little part of it is for profit since he will never earn that money again if he retire.

Its like grabbing the opportunity while he can able to do it.

I think a lose will just cemented that he has to retire though? Because obviously, if he wins, it's going to be hard to retire.

Just like when Manny lost to Ugas, he says that he is done for the sports, as least professionally. So in this case, I mean we don't want Donaire to lose this fight, but everything happens for a reason and worst is, the lost might be painful but it is what it is. He might have to consider retirement and so he will not damage himself at age 40. As someone pointed out, Father time is hard to defeat.
1297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 02, 2023, 11:37:14 AM
^^ Yes, that's what the rematch says, it's up to Davis to activate it within 30 days after their initial fight. So all rematch is still on his hands, and obviously a win by him we, will not see any rematch as all.

As for the date, crypto sport bookies can just adjust it, at least their handicappers are again on point on putting Davis as the favorite in this fight. Even though both are undefeated and 0 loss, they think that Davis will have the advantage base on his resume alone.
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 02, 2023, 11:10:49 AM
KD had a wonderful debut game with the Suns. He was unstoppable and could shoot from anywhere on the floor. With even a little opening, his accuracy is really high. I think the Suns will be a tough team in the playoffs. Even if they're not the favorites to win the championship, I would certainly bet on them if they have attractive odds.

The flow of basketball is very easy with Durant on the floor, which makes them unpredictable. Now, they have Durant and Booker, and of course CP3 can also score.
Classic Kevin Durant. The Phoenix Suns will be one of the teams that is difficult to defeat from now on. Even KD takes a rest, Booker will be there, then they have Warren, CP3, and Ayton. He just need someone who could space the floor more and let him do his isolation game. A very big catch by the Suns here and now they are on the discussions of a championship contender once again.
Brooklyn Nets on the other hand, (where KD came from) is unable to win another game after receiving Bridges and Johnson. 1 win in 7 games. It must be hard for them to create chemistry.

Yeah, it was the old and classic KD, shooting mid range even if someone is in front of him. And then Booker taking over the game and it was CP3 play making, dictating the tempo, Ayton too with another great rebounding night.

As for the Nets, it was always close, but then they really like melting in the 4th quarter. Maybe they got tired or something or their defense is not holding up. Unless Bridges is now on a break out as when he was transferred to the Nets, he has a good scoring average and could be potentially the new face of the Nets together with Spencer Dinwiddie and Cam Thomas.
1299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 27, 2023, 01:15:38 AM
Since the only advantage Donaire has is his experience, if that is nullified then Donaire will have trouble winning the fight.

I have to disagree with that. Donaire can even be considered to still have the ability to dominate most of the bantamweights.

Santiago is nowhere near Donaire's current status even though we talked about his age. Donaire is still quick at 38 and 39 and the proof of that is how he dominates his fights at that age with both 4th-round TKO wins against Nordine Oubaali and Reymart Gaballo.

Santiago can't even pass on the Top 5 rankings at those 4 recognized boxing organizations.

I agree, I don't understand how can a boxer can nullified experience though? Every boxer has matured and more fights compared to his opponents has the advantage already no matter what.

Not unless Donaire can't pull the trigger specially his powerful left then maybe we can say that Santiago will win already.

But we have seen him beating young fighters like Gaballo and Oubaali and knocking them out.
1300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 27, 2023, 12:59:34 AM
Yes, let's just wait if we can watch this fight without having to pay huge price, hehehe. Much better if we can used that money to bet and try to get to watch it for free from some streaming services or those who are willing to share it in social media like Facebook.
That's true. I'm sure we can find one, but we have to be prepared for a possible interruption. If it's detected, the streaming will be stopped, and then we can still look for another streamer. I have no idea how much the cost of PPV is, but if it's over $50, then I think it's too high. We can instead use that amount to bet.

Should be higher than that, probably at least $100 because the PPV price of Davis vs Hector Garcia was $74.99.
reference : https://www.billboard.com/culture/product-recommendations/gervonta-davis-vs-louis-garcia-how-to-stream-the-ppv-boxing-match-online-1235195435/

If we really want to enjoy that fight with no interruption, we need to buy PPV, as it will surely give us the experience we want. This might be the only fight between these two if there's no rematch clause, so let's not waste this opportunity if we can afford to pay.

Yes, usually the average or the most that I have seen is $79.99, so probably around this price as well if they want to reach out greater and other fans to buy their tickets. No need to make it $100.00 that will be too expensive and it could backfire on them.

Anyhow, I already said, not interesting on paying that kind of money although this is big hype fight.

But I have eyes on betting here, specially how Ryan Garcia is the underdog in this fight.
