1841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe it is to invest in cryptocurrency on: June 21, 2022, 04:19:28 AM
I can say bitcoin is safe for investment but I can't give account of other cryptocurrencies. In general cryptocurrency can be safe to some set of persons who knows what cryptocurrency is, those who can have patience to hodl for long. I don't think cryptocurrency is safe to invest for those who want to make money so fast.

Agree. Those people who are knowledgeable about cryptocurrency can testify that it is safe to invest in crypto. Because cryptocurrency is not a scam. As long as you do your proper research about a coin, you can benefit from it. Most especially if you know how to do right technical analysis and not really relying on lucky guessing.

Those people who often call crypto a scam or not a safe thing to invest with are not really knowledgeable about it or perhaps experienced to be scammed using crypto as a bait. Often times, people use crypto trading to lure their victims. Promising hefty amount of money in exchange for some funds. Despite this being too good to be true, unfortunately, people still fall victim to it.

It's safe to invest in crypto as long as you know how to countercheck and do a background check of every coin, its founder, and history. As long as you are not gullible and knows how to do proper risk assessment and management, your money will be okay.
1842  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: June 21, 2022, 03:31:50 AM
Lets imagine The Pharmacist chooses Indonesia as a place to live his next 5-10 years. Obviously, he wont be spending his whole time vising sightseen place. One day he will figure out, that he should have a money pillow, in case signature campaign puts on a pause or ends. What job as a foreigner can he get quickly in Indonesia, besides becoming a freelancer? Is it easy for an English speaking person to get a highly paid job (more than "$80 every week")?
Indonesia is a progressing country - people like going there. They have tourism and they have beautiful sites
If someone from the west moves there. and get money from the gov they will be able to happily make there living there.

You need to look at both sides of the coin. There is no doubt that Indonesia is a progressive country. But recently, there have been a sharp rise in religious fundamentalism. Terrorist incidents happen every now and then, and the perfect example is what happened in Bali in 2002 (more than 200 people died). Ethnic riots happen very frequently, and thousands have been killed recently in hotspots such as Kalimantan, Maluku and Papua. And even in major cities, there have been clashes in the past (one example is the May 1998 riots, in which thousands of Chinese were killed and hundreds were raped).

Indeed, looking at the two sides of the situation really matters. The bad side shouldn't be overlooked because it could bring so many disadvantages if not addressed or known beforehand. Considering Indonesia as a place to stay, it could offer a lot of activities and sides of the world. Someone can enjoy both the city life and nature in Indonesia. It's a developing and emerging country which makes it good place to go to if you are from a third world country.

However, a dark side of it exists too. Just like what you've mentioned, there are several incidents that has happened before which should also be a concern of someone thinking to stay in a certain place for a long time. Weighing the pros and cons will leave someone to decide whether it's worth the risk or not. Of course, let's also take into consideration that signature campaigns aren't really permanent. They just exist for a specific period of time.

Hence, someone must have a backup in case it suddenly stops. In this case, if you are a foreigner and not really a migrant, job finding could be hard. Because to think that the actual Indonesian citizens are having a hard time finding employment, what more for a mere stranger travelling in a country.
1843  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should I invest? on: June 20, 2022, 12:05:14 PM
Quote
Where should I invest?

I guess this is a great example of a young person entering the world... you just ask a question and someone will magically appear and answer "invest in "XXXX" and you will become a millionaire tomorrow!

I'm not sure where to begin... maybe with "invest in what you believe in"!!! Like when explaining to a little kid! Let's generalize a bit here, for the investment you need to have some capital! Capital is what you have to offer! Think about what you have to offer! Then think about your goals and what you want to achieve, and is there a period of time in which you wish to achieve your goal?! When you answer these basic questions start looking around, and when you find something suitable work for it! Work like getting in a dip dive, spend time checking it from all angles, and get interested as much as you can! If you have a plan it will be a lot easier for you in the long run... it will be a lot easier to find a good investment once you find out how the game works!

Or you can try to gamble and invest blindly in sound projects! That can be good, and probably many people made a lot of money by investing blindly in some new projects... but be sure that doesn't last long, a lot more people got burned with these kinds of strategies!

This is the reason why some people still get scammed. Some people just vaguely ask where to invest and easily believe in it. Some just aren't fond of doing in depth research to get their money's worth. I just can't seem to understand why people always want the easy way out, but fail to notice that there's really no shortcut in success.

Although it's nice to ask for few inputs. But someone must not easily trust and believe on others advices and suggestions because after all, not everyone wishes us to succeed. Some pray for us to fail. There are many greedy and envious people out there. But it's also great to take some insight, research, and consider it once it's proven to be worthy of money.
1844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bonus Abuse: Who is to Blame? on: June 18, 2022, 03:47:19 PM
Well, to be honest, I'm against victim blaming therefore I'd blame the fraudster. But, it doesn't mean that the customers is not at fault, they could've done some research first before believing on sudden bonuses on a certain gambling site. The online casino is at fault as well for not being aware of such thing, or not giving an early warning to their users regarding about such matter.
1845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minor Protection From Gambling on: June 18, 2022, 03:13:43 PM
The issue of minors being involved in gambling is not really a news. It's been existing long time ago and until now, it isn't fully solved yet because the reasons stem to many factors. And some of these factors are beyond the control of the authorities such as disciplining the child, giving the right counsel, and good guidance of parents.

A lot of ways are actually made to save the lives of the youth. Of course, the government wants to preserve their innocence and let them have peaceful life where gamble could take away, most especially they are still in their young stage and phase in life. Unfortunately, there are still so many countermeasures that could be done to bypass most of the imposed methods to protect the minors.  This involves identity theft which is the usage of a card that's not really theirs, stealing their guardians card information, and asking other people such as friends to help them bypass the security.

As we know, technology is evolving and so are the ways to infiltrate systems. KYC could be a good band aid solution, but the problem must be addressed from its roots.
1846  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Enter the market with a loss mindset~what you can afford to lose on: June 18, 2022, 02:44:32 PM
Buying the dip ain't that bad because from $68,000 per Bitcoin, grabbing it for its price now is a steal from me, then hodl if you don't know how to make profits in this kind of market. I agree that you only have to invest the extra amount of money you have in order not to get homeless while waiting for the next bull run. Don't put all the eggs in one basket, like the saying said.
1847  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ang nakaambang pag ban ng Binance sa pinas on: June 18, 2022, 12:57:24 PM
The good thing is, suggestion pa lang naman ito and an open letter to BSP so for sure, hinde naman agad agad ito mababan kase may due process tayo na tinatawag. Though, I heard that SEC is already looking for some documents with regards to Binance, not sure lang kung ano ba talaga ito pero let's hope for the better kase super ganda ng Binance and we really need this kind of exchange.

1848  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: June 18, 2022, 11:38:07 AM

1849  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which timeframe do you use for day trading? on: June 17, 2022, 02:32:43 PM
I'm always scalping in futures so I'm using 5 minutes time frame as always. Sometimes I use 1hr to 4hr timeframe in a random trade that I do, depends on the mood. I never tried using bots, so I don't really rely on luck because trading is all about technical analysis that has done with the data you've gathered by analyzing the price chart.
1850  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A season for stop loss on: June 17, 2022, 12:26:39 PM
Stop loss is a must every time to avoid huge losses, but some people don't put such thing especially if they have a huge amount of USDT and only using 3-5x leverage. However, it is different for those who are using 25-50x leverage and not using stop loss, I mean that's gonna give you a mini heart attack and so much frustration whenever you got liquidated.

I always use stop loss especially when I'm about to leave my trade and do something else.
1851  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to avoid crippling losses when trading? on: June 17, 2022, 11:39:20 AM
Great advice.

But the question would be, is that, do all traders could do some discipline to themselves and apply great approaches in trading to avoid crippling losses? That's where the challenge would start.

In this time of bear market, where a lot of red candles (lower highs and lower lows) a lot of traders are confused on what to do to gain back profits. Traders in futures especially, are eating up liquidation messages from binance every single day. The one mistake I've noticed is that they are contradicting the trend, meaning they are entering a long trade even though the market is in short trade, add up the insane leverage just to cope up with their losses which for me is something very risky.

Using a high leverage doesn't mean you could gain back the losses you've suffered on your last trade, I mean you could if your TA is good enough to back you up, but if you're not sure and just randomly entering a trade, it's suicide.
1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: June 16, 2022, 03:35:13 PM
I think every casino has a self exclusion and gamble responsibly program. And so this is global per se, it's just the question if this is being implement or not. Is the casino able to block the person if he can control it and slip and try to gamble again?

And the gamblers has also the responsibility to inform the gambling platform specially if you break it. So again, it boils down to both parties, and take reasonable steps to prevent this gambling problem not only for the individual, but for others as well.

I agree.

Gambling addiction couldn't be prevented by someone or something just by putting a self inclusion or anything that will restraint someone to gamble if he is a gambling addict. Gambling addiction is a choice, they know it from the start that they will come to a certain point where they can't help themselves but to keep on playing gambling even though they wasted all of their money on gambling sites, with an enormous amount of debt to someone just to continue their addiction.

Gambling addiction could only be treated when that person is willing to accept the help from others and is dedicated to be cured.
1853  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: BINANCE urged to be BANNED in the PHILIPPINES on: June 16, 2022, 02:09:03 PM
Pure FUD, in my opinion.

Wala na yatang magandang nangyayari sa bansa natin basta about competition to other companies na galing ibang bansa, katulad na lamang nung telco na papasok sana sa bansa natin kaso hindi natuloy kasi syempre, maaapektuhan ang PLDC at napakabagal na ISP sa bansa. Pera pera lang talaga ang usapan, pero for now since wala pang totoong balita about dyan, pwede pa rin namang gamitin yang Binance.

Lahat kasi gusto nila sa bulsa nila papasok kaya gusto nila yung macocontrol nila.
1854  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Sen. Manny Strikes Again... Creating Dog Themed NFT on: June 16, 2022, 11:34:45 AM
Hindi ko masasabi na crypto advocate si Pacquiao lahat ng crypto projects na gumamit sa pangalan niya ay palpak.
Wala pa akong nakita na tinutukan niya sa mga crypto projects.
Marahil ay kulang sila sa pagmarket ng project nila and siguro ordinary token lang na wala namang usage talaga dito sa market and with this NFT, baka magfail lang ito pagnagkataon.

Sana gumawa sya ng makabuluhang project, yung masasabe naten na may pakinabang talaga kase with this NFT, I can’t see any usage and di know alam kung worth ba ito bilihin. I’m looking forward for a more good project, sana magkaroon den tayo ng Filipino successful crypto project.

1855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever thought of doing your thesis on Gambling ? on: June 15, 2022, 02:02:28 PM
snip
If those who have money will consider gambling as a hobby, I think they will regret it especially if they often lose from gambling. Gambling is not a hobby that can be done by people because there is a loss factor that can make them lose everything in the end. Maybe if later there was a thesis issued by an educational institution about how dangerous gambling is to people, it would help them to think twice if they wanted to gamble.

I think this is a subjective matter. There are already articles and blogs about first hand experience on gambling that tackles its negative side. Most people are aware of it. For sure some managed to stumble and read upon several articles and confessions about the disadvantages and bad sides of gambling. However, people still choose to gamble.

If a person decides to engage in gambling, it's already their responsibility. The moment they enter, they knew what is waiting for them. Because in gambling, there are only two possible options which are to win or to lose. If a person have that much to spare to risk and makes it as a hobby, then good for him as long as he know his boundaries in playing so he won't lose everything in the process.
1856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a new sportsbook gain trust? on: June 15, 2022, 12:47:28 PM
It takes a long time for a sportsbook to become credible.Nothing can be gained without a long time. There is also a need to provide security. If there is no security, people will not believe here. Those who gamble on the sports book site need to provide adequate security. They have to show responsibility in every word. But gradually a sportsbook casino site will gain credibility.

Gaining the trust of the people really takes a long time. It's not an overnight process. One must undergo several instances where they could prove they are worthy of trust and reliance. Players will see this through how they offer their services and how they handle the concerns and issues at hand. It's the way how the casino take actions and its lack thereof which could determine whether they should be trusted or just left upon.

A sportsbook shall do its best to gain the player's comfortability in them. That way, they could encourage more players and retain the existine ones both at the same time.

Bitcointalk is the largest forum that provides a place to promote many casinos and other sites. This is what business owners who use cryptocurrencies realize in this forum because the potential to get customers will be greater.

snip
The COVID-19 pandemic provides many benefits for online businesses so that they can develop their business and get many new customers who can't go anywhere. Since then, online casino crypto has become more well known by many people, let alone many advertisements about online casino crypto on many sites. Gamblers who use fiat eventually also try to use crypto and maybe they prefer gambling using crypto over fiat.

snip
I think the signature campaign effectively gets many new customers so that it can increase the number of new customers on each casino site. That is why many casino sites still use signature campaigns as a promotional medium and can develop their sites to be bigger.

Indeed, bitcointalk forum is one of the main websites and community where people can promote their own business about gambling such as casino and gambling website. This forum is really useful and beneficial to those people who want to start and establish a business about gambling as well to those players who just want to find the most suitable casino for them to play with.

Having signature campaign here really helps casino owners to boost their website and to garner customer. Most of the casinos and gambling site garner customer due to advertisements and of course, the word of mouth. With signature campaigns, the qualified and chosen ones to promote the gambling site can contribute to the encouragement and spreading of awareness, as well as gathering people to try the site. This of course, is done with trust. Once people see that the campaign is genuine, it will most likely influence them.
1858  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: June 15, 2022, 03:15:01 AM
I may say, this is a rhetorical question because all most all the  games can be played online and people play all kinds of games. So if you want to launch a casino games online, just compile all the games and create the site, make sure the site is attractive and the games should be well created and also your payment skill should be very smooth and transparent.
And you can add all the games you mentioned. Make sure there should be no issue or problem in any of the games.

I agree. This will be the most probable answer. Incorporating every game someone wishes to be in a gambling website. Since every players has their own preferences, might as well put different kind of games in a site so that you can cater everyone's need. Just like what you said, of course, the game should be well-planned and made so there won't be any glitches. And if ever there will be, the glitches will just be minimal and can be resolved instantly without really shutting down the website for a long period of time for maintenance.

Although with this, a good website developer and game developer is needed. Having many games that all offer quality service is tough. By having variations, the owner must ensure that the quality of service won't be compromised to retain the players in playing in their site.
1859  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: June 14, 2022, 10:42:38 AM
Also my country is suffering so much this war and price of oil at the moment is so high. But this are the circumstances of some mistakes made during the years. We were too much influenced from the

supply of Oil & Gas from Russia and now we're paying consequences.

Of course the sanctions hurt us, but we still must stand up and speak our minds. Everyone must be aware of the consequences, but they still want to fight. We must stand up together, united. I support the boycotts and sanctions against the Russia for their actions. This is the only way to show our serious reaction to these kinds of events. We must stand up and unite. Putin has got a lot of cards in his hands and I think he will go for the whole basket. The United States in return, will want to show their power and will increase their military support in the region. I believe that we can survive without our gas supplies from Russia. We will survive, we still can make alternative supplies, but it takes time. I do not like these sanctions against Russia, because it harms my country and it harms the economy of my country. But, at the same time, these sanctions are a way of showing that you will not allow this kind of things to happen, and showing the unity of Europe.

I just find it unfair that the innocent ones have to suffer too. I know the people in Ukraine even civilians are being killed due to the conflict, but isn't that enough lesson already to set aside impulsiveness and hatred? Because there are already people dying and there are a lot of businesses and structures that has been damaged already due to being self-righteous of Putin. For me, we're supposed to be more compassionate and empathetic rather becoming more like him.

Sadly, sometimes we lose track of ourselves in the process of loathing someone that we become the people we hate. I know that there are people dying and with that, we shouldn't add more. Boycotting these sites means downfall of the owners and their livelihood. During this time of calamity where covid-19 is still evolving and isn't totally eliminated yet, and having a conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with these challenges, people are still facing a lot of struggles. Struggle to get by is the problem of the majority. I hope we don't inflict more pain to those people who are suffering already.
1860  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: June 14, 2022, 08:14:36 AM

You have a good point! Even that such shittiest name if he could offer variations of games where gamblers will really enjoy and follow that casino will still stand up and be established. It's not the name but the services and how the operators will deal with each gambler that will use their platforms.

The name can bring the attentions but the game and the services allow more gamblers to stay and keep coming back, right?

And also agree, better to have both..

Yes, you are right. Having a name that sounds nice is good because you can intrigue people to try your casino. This is one of the great ways to find customers. Making the casino's branding interesting and intriguing so people would be curious about it. However, establishing good functionality and service will what make a casino be more known and patronized.

If a casino have a good branding but only offers bre minimum service, the players won't be encouraged to stay. But if a casino offers great quality of service and caters the customers concern, it is most likely to make a name and at the same time garner and retain players.
