2001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin's Astro chart on: March 02, 2013, 02:27:59 PM
Yep I originally posted on http://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,1228.0.html to ask re the exact local time & place of the first LTC block being mined, the genesis block, from http://explorer.litecoin.net/chain/Litecoin?hi=2015&count=2016 I got 2011 10 07 at 07:31:05 for the first block & coblee told me where he mined it from.

Glad you like the chart, it really is a beauty imo.

Litecoin's Astro chart posted here
2003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin's Astro chart on: March 01, 2013, 03:49:21 PM
Hi, I would like to do for Litecoin the same as I did for Bitcoin here, I realize that astrology is an anathema to some so please skip this thread if you disapprove of mystic mumbo jumbo - as the original thread shows though it is of sufficient interest to some to warrant a look at from this perspective if only out of curiosity.

There's a unusually large number of trines (10) & conjunctions (11) which is very auspicious & other things like not a single opposition that make this a rather interesting chart, a preponderance of Air & Cardinal signs - Air being good for technology & innovation - Cardinal for energetic start-ups. For more on these & other aspects see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrological_aspect

Thinking of Litecoin as a complementary partner to Bitcoin, say as the Moon to Bitcoin as Sun, we see that LTC has a very positive Moon itself & it's in the progressive forward thinking sign of Aquarius. Litecoin is a Libra Sun sign - good for partnership & balance/fairness & Mercury plus Saturn there emphasize this with communication & practicality. Venus is in Scorpio which make's LTC intense & confident which ppl will find attractive & sexy. Mars is in Leo - plenty of power & ambition there with a strong sense of authority & personal magnetism. Jupiter in Taurus gives good luck & bodes well for abundance & financial security, it attracts wealth & success.

I'll add more interpretations later, with edits to add to this OP.

Bitcoin's horoscope for week of February 28, 2013

http://www.freewillastrology.com/horoscopes/tarot_cards/tarot30.jpg   "When you come right down to it," says religion writer Rabbi Marc Gellman, "there are only four basic prayers. Gimme! Thanks! Oops! and Wow!" Personally, I would add a fifth type of prayer to Gellman's list: "Do you need any assistance?" The Creator always needs collaborators to help implement the gritty details of the latest divine schemes. According to my analysis of the astrological omens, you would be an excellent choice to volunteer for that role right now -- especially in tasks that involve blending beautiful fragments, healing sad schisms, furthering peace negotiations, and overcoming seemingly irreconcilable differences.

Bitcoin's horoscope for Friday March 01, 2013

You can be highly persuasive, and exert a little subtle force and pressure to move companions into your way of thinking. There should not be too much resistance because you have right on your side, as well as a little nifty strategy. It's particularly good around the working situation. You're structured, you're self-disciplined, you've got an eye to the future. You can see what your goals ought to be, and you can see very clearly how you can get to where you want to be.

We've just enjoyed a bunch of planets (outer green ring at 2 o'clock) transiting Bitcoin's natal Venus, the Venus conjunct Venus being especially fortuitous & happy, now they are continuing their progression around anti-clockwise to do the same for Uranus so we should expect some surprises - in fact this has already begun with Mars & Mercury conjunct natal Venus. At the same time they will also form oppositions to Bitcoin's important natal Saturn.

2007  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 06:15:59 PM
Yep, mystery to me too, I thought it may have been something I did wrong when I tried a week or two ago but retrying now it still fails & other van gens of mine just solved work fine doing exactly the same normal calc & import process, anyway maybe best to warn ppl not to send much to newly generated van addies until they are sure that the private keys are wallet importable.
2008  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 04:51:02 PM
I checked both the van generated ones & they're negative so within the range & I know that my original one is also as I've used it on dozens of successful van gens & also just imported it to my wallet now with np.
2009  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 04:26:57 PM
I don't know how to tell if they within that range, one starts with D217... & the other with C61F... I used the same pri/pub key for all my requests, also I don't know how to modulo the number but can try if you point me to where, thanks for looking in to this, luckily I'd only sent a token amount to each address in order to get the FirstBits address - which incidentally seems to be down the last few days.

Edit: I guess that they are within the correct range as they start with a letter before F in the alphabet. There're both 62 chars long.
2010  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 04:11:40 PM
Also when the private keys are tested at https://www.bitaddress.org (Wallet details, enter private key in any format) & it says: ' The text you entered is not a valid Private Key! '
2011  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 04:10:09 PM
Nope, I've never used WIF, I just made the WIF now & that doesn't work either, blockchain.info wallets accept the straight private keys as summed but for for these 2 vanities the private keys given seem to be invalid.
2012  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 03:18:46 PM
http://gobittest.appspot.com/VanitySum gave me the sum of private keys that is being reported as invalid

& http://gobittest.appspot.com/PrivateKey gives:    Invalid Base58 encoding

but http://gobittest.appspot.com/Address gives the correct address as derived from the private key: 1Knicks1bujdxrXTaZbf8YLzU8rh8Pbq5G
2013  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 02:55:23 PM
Hmm, maybe the blockchain.info uses WIF, rather than just plain copying and pasting of private keys?

All the other ones have imported fine np, also I checked the private keys somewhere where you can generate the matching address & it also said that they were invalid keys.

Edit: It was at https://www.bitaddress.org (Wallet details, enter private key in any format) & it says: ' The text you entered is not a valid Private Key! '
2014  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Pool - vanity address generator pool on: February 28, 2013, 02:12:55 PM
I'm assuming that when ASICs are prevalent & difficulty goes through the roof that will make vanity mining a much more attractive alternative & so clear up a lot of the old requests, btw a couple of mine were solved a while back but recently when I came to import the private keys in to my blockchain.info wallet I had 'error importing private key - unknown key format' this was for addresses:

11976WATj2ujAvg7booAr4STNH5DUBFRZ - 2012/11/13

1Knicks1bujdxrXTaZbf8YLzU8rh8Pbq5G - 2012/10/29

The vanity sum correctly generated the addresses but seems to give an incorrect sum of private keys, unless it's a wallet error but I think that I checked them somewhere else & got the same error message. I've checked that my copy & paste of it was exact & no spaces before or after, it's not already in the wallet either.

yw, gl, also see this sorry story - you may be able to help each other out or collect enough evidence to pursue Intersango for theft.

2016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin really really cheap right now? Or is it dying? on: February 27, 2013, 10:12:21 PM
Everything in (physical) existence is a duality (this includes virtual stuff), best known are things like like day/night, energy/matter, male/female, yang/yin, hot/cold, Coke/Pepsi, PC/mac, Etc/Etc - a piece of paper has to have two sides & anything that comes in to existence brings it's other side in to existence also, they can compete/cooperate & everything in between but there will always be an Alt, whether it is Litecoin or another alt to Bitcoin I couldn't be sure but atm it is by far the most likely candidate imo & so therefor well worth keeping an eye upon at the very least, there are niche markets where it may prove very successful & dedicated talented people working on applications for it  - I am actively building a stake in it atm - which you can find it somewhere on http://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,608.0.html hopefully, if you like.

Bad reasoning. Coke/Pepsi are competitors, but there is no reason there has to be only two. What about Ford/Chrysler/GM?

"a piece of paper has to have two sides", except if it a Moebius strip, in which case it only has one side!

One can always sub-divide, every duality probably has it's own sub-dualities Ad infinitum, the Moebius strip if made from a piece of paper, that paper has two sides - it may be then formed into the continuous strip but the paper has still got it's two sides, if this isn't obvious to you then forget it.

I'm not saying that everything is only black or white, but that if you have one then you must have the other.
2017  Economy / Gambling / Re: This is the magnificent bitcoin gem on: February 27, 2013, 08:26:04 PM
Cool, at least they were all lowish buys (unlike my only one so far of 1.73 btc last Thursday Cry)

I wonder if the random resets are needed at all any more as the 24 hour idle period will & does now always cause a reset before the price goes crazy mad & anyway if it did that's the punter's choice, or at the least make the random reset 0.3% or something less off-putting if you'd like to keep that Russian roulette frisson aspect, I believe that it would increase your take & lead to happier players.
2018  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Intersango - help!! on: February 27, 2013, 04:45:53 PM
You could try a PM to phantomcircuit & email to patrick@intersango.com (Patrick Strateman - CTO), good luck - you'll need it, see Intersango thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63877.400
2019  Economy / Gambling / Re: This is the magnificent bitcoin gem on: February 27, 2013, 04:22:45 PM
There seem to have been an unusually high number of random resets today, well over 3.125% - can you confirm it's just random variance.

3 resets in the last 15 buys = 20% atm

Thanks for this perspective, I'm always fascinated by what the I-Ching's take on things is & will enjoy looking in to this more tomorrow.
