2261  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Security risk on: July 16, 2021, 09:02:19 AM

Does is really mean that the security risk of Cryptocurrencies is higher than that of fiat banks?
It depends on where you hold your crypto coins. If it is an exchange, you're like holding your money inside a bank with the risk of being stolen of course because it is not you private key.
However if you hold your crypto coins in such wallet like Desktop ones or anything where you hold the private key and kept it safe in a written note, it is all yours and nobody could steal it unless you leak it.

That is the most precise way to put it because I do not think that one could "increase ETH activity" with just anything without transactions anyway.
It could also be meant by balance of the said wallet.

In case the people above are still wondering about that source of the post that the OP attached,  here it is:
US Couple Exchanges NFTs as Virtual Rings During Wedding Ceremony [News18 Link]
This couple in the US exchanged digital NFTs as virtual rings to get married[IndulgeExpress Link]

I got surprised of it as well. Cheesy
2264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I rather stay hungry than sell my Bitcoin on: July 15, 2021, 08:18:26 PM

I mean it is like life and death situation.
I am not sure why would one would still root for hodling that much if s/he is being buried with bills and papers. Sell your crypto, pay those liabilities then re earn your funds and hodl again once you're stable.
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BabyDogeCoin] I got it ripped off my BabyDoge, I need help on: July 15, 2021, 08:07:39 PM

To be straight up, no, OP. It is all losses now.
Next time if you're gonna invest into something that you are not sure of, don't use the fund that you will use for something else important and in this situation, your children's school. That is one hell of an important fund that I would not wanna lose if I were you.

Another purpose is when one is on untrusted device or location as well. I recall LoyceV has LoyceMobile for that purpose.

I am kind of considering making an alt from what happened to me here - [Is there such thing as a malware that would make me automatically post?]
But since the lockdown here in my country is really strict and I can't go around that much to make me able to use the forum in other locations too much, I am not doing it just yet.

Bingo! I knew it. Smiley
Well I wish I had the nostalgic feeling of that sight of CMC in that year, but in the other side I could have quit trading coins because most likely I invested in those dead coins you mentioned due to me being new to trading. Cheesy

Thanks for pointing out the exact post. Smiley

I thought we were all done with these meme coins that are just being purely hyped by Musk. People still really follow that guy's hype huh.
Good luck in the next decade for people that still hold into that though if he decides to say crap one day.
2269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you know if someone left you Bitcoin after death? on: July 15, 2021, 06:45:29 AM

If it is a custodial wallet, you still have a shot I believe. Not sure how strict some custodial wallet customer support when it comes to people needing access to a deceased person's account, but I think you need to comply to their confirmation that you're relative of that deceased person. (Please correct me on this if there's a mistake.)

If it is a non-custodial wallet and you lost the private key, then just like what Royse777 mentioned, it is a lost coin.

Can't quite recall if it was you that posted that snapshot of CMC back around 2013 (can't recall the exact year) in comparison of the coins right now in CMC.
It was kind of insane how much changed in terms of the price of each coins back in those years until now.

@OP I smell that you're gonna kind of fall for some pump and dump scheme from that. Careful, I would say.

Post as you Learn:
This is the best method to adopt as a newbie. When you learn, you create posts asking questions where necessary. By this, people will see your willingness to learn and help you to grow.

~
I'd like to suggest that newbies should learn how to search the "supposed question" first using either the Search function here in the forum or Google it out before attacking Meta/B&H with threads while the same/related question was answered in an old thread already.

How do you guys react to this kind of thing?
Don't open their Twitter pages simply. If you're using Twitter very often, block those people.
I don't block them even if I have Facebook and Twitter, because I simply don't care at all on their shills.
Call them manipulators or whatever, I'll hold my BTCs as much as I want.
2273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggestions for Long-Term Investment on: July 14, 2021, 08:08:47 PM
I rather keep my 10k rather than invest in those, OP unless you include Bitcoin then I think I can make a choice for sure. Smiley

I thought this is one of those threads asking for advice. Roll Eyes
2274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what happen before that you could have done better? on: July 14, 2021, 08:01:14 PM
~
Well I don't have any crypto-related regrets now anyway. I usually say before in other threads that I regret not getting my first BTC back in the days.
I just realize that I cannot even regret that because there weren't means for me to get my BTC in those years anyway plus the misconception that I had in those years that BTC is exclusively used by criminals would just induce fear.
2275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't say a thread was made because of merit on: July 14, 2021, 06:39:37 PM
~
Yes, the truth is that we all want merit in every thread we make.
~
No, OP.
People make thread because either they want to be helpful to users in here or want to start a conversation, as long as the topic is still relevant and constructive. Merit is just the reward of it.

~

Everyone wants a merit. Telling a member that he made a thread because he wants merits is like telling someone he is hunting for a job because he needs money, and true everyone wants money and everyone desire is to gain merit in a giving write up.
~
Everyone needs money to buy their needs to survive. Your account does not need merit/s here in the forum to survive or not get banned, just follow the rules and you're all good. Smiley
2276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you make sure a projects funds are safe? on: July 14, 2021, 09:36:57 AM
~
All the projects?
Thing is there is not much indicator to it actually. That is why people still encounter these random projects doing their exit scams after the either ICO, IEO or whatever coin offering you can think of finished their stuffs.
It is just mostly lies on how much you really done your background check on the devs behind the project. Might seem generic to say, but all there is to it.
2277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why some are still loosing money in crypto on: July 14, 2021, 09:34:12 AM

Oh no. Not everyone. Don't just conclude that everybody is investing online just because they are referred though in additional of that there are those MLM schemes inside a group. It happens quite often in Facebook groups from what I can read.
Being driven by an influencer is a no-no, but you gotta be honest that people follow those influencer because they have these hidden desire to be like them OR at least get better than them.
2278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest on alts suggestion on: July 14, 2021, 09:29:07 AM

Bitcoin =/= Altcoin. Bitcoin might go up, but a shitcoin will be shitcoin. Don't expect much from it regardless of how much Bitcoin rises, whether it'd be adoption or its price.
Not familiar with SOV but it is kind of looking meh upon my few researches.
2279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon tweet again that he is supporting Crypto against Fiat on: July 14, 2021, 09:25:45 AM

Well not all of his opinions, because he literally manipulates people to just invest in the coins that he shills. That is the part that I hated about that guy actually.

You already made a subtle comment of liking the post with merit/s alone. It is like virtual pat in the back also. Smiley
