3161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can i use Antminer S7 PSU for Antminer T9 on: March 08, 2017, 07:02:15 AM
That power supply in picture is not Bitmain APW3.

This is BITMAIN APW3-12-1600 --> see this official thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1060439.0

Bitmain APW3-12-1600 is suitable to use with Antminer S7, S9, R4 and T9 (any model) if your voltage is 208 V or higher.
3162  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: March 08, 2017, 05:59:46 AM
I got my faulty 8.7Th/s unit fixed back here in Finland and mining smoothly again so far  Smiley

Smooth delivery via Fedex, no need to deal with customs.
3163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 07, 2017, 05:08:14 PM
before you go replacing the fan with a different model you might want to check the power the current fan uses and how many watts the replacement uses. if the replacement uses too much ur gonna damage the controller. it may work for a bit of time but the extra wear on components will take its toll eventually and they will fail. are you willing to take that chance? that fan you posted uses almost 40 watts of power....im not sure what the stock fan is rated at.
Don't worry, I know what I'm doing.

And as said the current is about the same as with the stock fan.
3164  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 07, 2017, 12:11:55 PM
please help ASAP
I replaced the controler on S9 which I bought with bitmain. The hashing boards are working I checked them on another S9. When I powered it up it shows the hashing boards in status, first minute or so there are all 0s but also zero hashing speed, after couple minutes all of them are showing xxx. I tried 600 and 500 freq but still the same. What am I missing ?

update:
is there a chance that the miner isn't working with a faulty fan? even if I disconnect it?

Yes. Replace the faulty fan.
shipping from bitmain costs too much, any alternatives from ebay/amazon?
This is a good one, I used to have AvalonMiner 6.0 equipped with this.
Sanyo Denki SAN Ace 120 3.0 Amp 12 Volt 120mm PWM Fan 224 CFM
https://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Denki-SAN-Ace-120mm/dp/B00QWB1X3O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488887739&sr=8-1&keywords=san+ace+120
This will git s9 I guess but isn't the cable too short for rare fan ?

There are different size of extension cables available
for example https://www.amazon.com/extension-cable-Black-Sleeving-FC44PWM-12BKS/dp/B0055OLY88

take measurements and see what fits the best
Thank you for your help, you saved me so much time!
No problem, happy to help  Smiley

If you have few miners I would give advice to have at least one spare fan all the time.
That way there is only little down time because of faulty fans.  Smiley

And this is of course for the 120mm fans. I have those but no R4 fan because that is god damn hard to find  Cheesy

edit:
here are technical specs for that fan https://products.sanyodenki.com/en/contents/hp0071/list.php?CNo=71&ProCon=1266
Max. speed is 6400 rpm and max. air flow 224 CFM which is plenty enough for both front or rear fan.

hello everyone, i have the next question.

is profitable buy an s9 antminer nowadays ?

thanks
You need to do your own calculations based on your costs (electricity etc.).

Also there is already lots of info here at the forum because everything has been asked like 100 times.
3170  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: March 05, 2017, 09:07:24 PM
This miner is also available at www.eastshore.xyz including PSU, for a reasonable price.
They also ask for 90USD customs declaration plus shipping, not bad considering people buy this for around 1000 on other sites. Didn't notice it included a PSU.

Actually they just mean that the customs value is written 90USD, so no 90USD additional cost if I understood your text right.

And yes they are legit, I have bought two S9s from them successfully.
3171  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB A car from Europe! on: March 05, 2017, 09:04:12 PM
I just imported a new car for me from Germany myself and drove it all the way back here Finland.
Could importing a car yourself be an option?

Those Baikal Miners seem very legit, I'm just having a hard time finding a legit place to purchase them.

Buy from them directly. http://www.baikalminer.com/

There is also a group buy thread in the altcoin section.
3173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: March 04, 2017, 02:39:02 PM
Well my faulty R4 is now fixed and on the way back to my place. Fedex has it in Cologne (Germany) at the moment.
No details about what was repaired though.
3174  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Your suggestions please... on: February 26, 2017, 10:40:54 PM
PSU --> Server PSU by IBM or HP with a breakout board and PCI-E cables. Bitmain APW3 is also a decent PSU.
UPS--> Eaton has good UPS solutions.

Please pay attention to your total costs for mining during the whole life time. The need for UPS may kill it for you.
3175  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 26, 2017, 02:30:08 PM

Kano or Slush for example..

What was your setup when you got this - #391994 at solo.ckpool.org ? Nice!
I had only Antminer S1 and Antminer S2 pointed to solo.ckpool during that time, so it was extremely lucky.
3176  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 26, 2017, 01:34:01 PM
What are the recommendations on pools for a single S9 miner at present? Eligius seems to be de-funked - it was a nice free anonymous pool with useful stats...

Bitmain's pool? They seem to have a charge. P2pool is not an option at the moment.

Thanks for any info.

3177  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: if still profitable when mined with one computer assembly? on: February 26, 2017, 11:11:08 AM
This has been asked here hundred times, why can't you search existing threads? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1790875.0

The answer is no. Bitcoin mining is done with ASIC gear these days. With PC you will get few satoshis per month, it is not feasible.

3179  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining still profitable and how much you need to mine with Antminer S9-13.5TH on: February 25, 2017, 09:34:39 PM
With the current price for Bitmain Antminer S9 it doesn't make sense for most to buy one and mine.

You need figure out your costs for buying miner and PSU and other stuff possibly, running it and then estimate possible ROI time with calculator available online.
See bitcoinwisdom.com's calculator for example.

I remember the times 2 years ago or so, when one company was selling miners but we had to wait for pre-orders which took forever to fulfill .. what was that company name ?
Are you talking about KncMiner?
Yeah that was a disaster, at one point I was glad that there was a manufacturer right in the neighbour country but I'm glad that I stayed away after all and have bought mostly Bitmain and Canaan Creative (Avalon) gear.

Did you get the powerline adapter working too?
