501  Economy / Economics / Re: Boris is right a second lockdown could cripple UK economy. on: September 21, 2020, 04:42:32 PM
In my opinion, not all the increase in cases of COVID19 infections must be resolved by lockdown. Because the world economic
situation is getting worse, lockdown will indeed paralyze the economy. Not only in the UK, however, most countries with a high
number of virus spreads will have their economies crippled if they are put under lockdown. I believe there are other ways to deal
with the spread of COVID19, without having to lock down. It is the task of economists to think of the best solution, so that the
economy can run without increasing cases of COVID19 infections.Actually, the key in my opinion is discipline to follow health protocols.
I agree that we need discipline but both the citizens and government have their responsibilities in this situation. Yes, lockdown is not the only solution they can do to prevent spreading the virus so the government should also do something, not just proposing a second lockdown because there won't be any changes if there's no action. However, I'm not totally against lockdown because they can still impose a lockdown where essential businesses can still operate to at least help the economy.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you determine if an altcoin is worth investing in? on: September 21, 2020, 02:43:14 PM
Others have already mentioned the things that I consider when making investments in altcoins that it's also important to look for the team behind every project as well as their continuous development. Every investment is already risky, and it's riskier if you don't know the people behind it that's why I always doubt projects with an anonymous team.

As for red flags, those who just plagiarized their documentation and fake the team behind the project. And people who fall for these scams just need to do enough prior research.

504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins that would make a good short term #HODL on: September 21, 2020, 11:00:10 AM
Never heard about this tokens (not a coins I guess, will try to make my own research about this one and know if its really worth it or not. DeFi projects are the one working gold right now so you can choose this one as your short term investment you just need to choose the right one and don’t just listen to a hype, do your own research.
Same here mate, and it looks like it's my first time hearing the NOIA and I already see/read the Earnbet here in the forum. I agree with you about the Defi projects, but we should be aware that not all of them are gold cause some of them are sh*tcoins and we should always do prior research when making an investment in a Defi project and don't just ride on the hype and be cautious in our action. When it comes to the coins that are good for short term investments, I would also suggest investing in Ethereum and for me, it's also good to have a Binance coin for the short term.
505  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: September 20, 2020, 04:23:34 PM
~snip

506  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Free uniswap token on: September 20, 2020, 03:18:16 PM

507  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: September 20, 2020, 01:51:21 PM
In our country, price inflation was really huge. This pandemic brought us opportunists, they sell their products thrice the original price. They always say that even their suppliers made the reseller's price higher than the usual. I'm not really against the inflation but somehow I'm just irritated to the fact that some resellers makes the price higher so much, they know that it's pandemic so economy is down, yet they still grabs the opportunity to sell their products in high prices.
The same here in my country. The moment when the COVID started to spread, the seller increases the price for the products with higher demands just like face masks, alcohols, and others. What's more irritating is that they hoard products to sell it at a higher price but after some months, they started lowering the prices because of lesser demands. It's the same with foods, compare to its previous prices, it increases although I understand that it's hard to part of the seller because they have limited time and customers due to the protocols. At the end of it, it's always the end consumer who will suffer from price inflation.
508  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [NEW] Netflix phishing e-mail on: September 19, 2020, 05:08:11 PM
Funny lang, while they're trying to fool somebody, eh 'di naman nila chineck kung 'yong structure nung sentence nila is tama...
Pinoy may gawa nyan panigurado, LoL.

509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any suggestion in investment in Defi coins/tokens on: September 19, 2020, 04:04:03 PM
Considering that some of the Defi projects turns out as an exit scam, it is difficult to suggest any good and profitable project to invest. Since some of it is just alluring investors with unbelievable offers, so I'm afraid they will end up the same way and waste your time and money. What I can recommend is doing an investigation about the project, its primary objective, and its purpose. Analyze its difference from any Defi project and look for information about the team behind it. If you are in doubt, then take all of the time you need to review and analyze all of your gathered information to make sure you are not missing any details.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inspirational gambling quotes. on: September 19, 2020, 03:07:13 PM
This is a nice list of inspirational gambling quotes but number 7 really caught my interest, and I personally like it the most.

7. “Gambling is not about how well you play the games, it’s really about how well you handle your money.” -V. P. Pappy.
- It is our money handling that will decide whether we will be successful in gambling and not how good are we when playing.
It's like, even if you have a good gaming skill if you can't handle your money very well, you will still end up losing. And even if some games don't really require skills, you can still manage to win, you just need to be good at handling money. It's like a business, that for you to be able to play in the long run and gain profit, you need to be good at managing your money.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: THE MOST PAINFUL DAY IN MY BETTING CAREER on: September 18, 2020, 02:04:27 PM
We have different painful stories we experienced in gambling, some may just more painful than others but for me, it would still give us a lesson.  It's just that the more we expect something to be good, the more it becomes painful when it didn't went well. But since it's already in the past, just use it as your motivation I guess?

But for me there isn't really a painful it is more of an embarrassing moment that was back in 2015 when I was betting on a local players on our place and I really thought that I handed my bet and when the game ended and the team won I was claiming my bet and the whole shop was looking to me with a serious face and told me that I never placed a bet.

Lol. That was embarrassing and also disappointing because you've expected but then it turned out that you haven't made your bet
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should bitcoin be introduced into the educational sectors on: September 18, 2020, 12:13:13 PM
I do really think that it should also be introduced in schools, not only bitcoin but also blockchain and the whole cryptocurrency because it's part of the innovation that can be adopted in an economy. Just like what others said, this can be introduced in some related courses. For example, once the cryptocurrency becomes legal in a certain country, some businesses will adopt bitcoin and of course, finance-related courses should learn about this too. But it'll just take some time before we can see it being taught and added in the curriculum.

How exactly you think Bitcoin should be introduced? As an instrument of getting profit or trading. Or as a transparent database? Or as anonymous way to make payment.

They can do any of that depending on what path the student is taking as long as it's related to their courses.
513  Economy / Economics / Re: Enough with BITCOIN SAVE us or the economy on: September 18, 2020, 11:21:17 AM
Bitcoin wasn't made to solve different economical problems and it's not always the answer to every crisis we encounter. Even if some people were able to find help in bitcoin, it doesn't really mean that it's applicable to everyone or in every situation. I get that maybe some are just optimistic about the future of bitcoin or on what it can do but sometimes it just really doesn't make sense looking at every possibility where bitcoin can be an answer to all problems when in reality, it's not always the answer.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dextrust:::Another Scam Waiting To Happen:::Or:::Not??? You Decide on: September 17, 2020, 04:48:36 PM
Is not the people behind the project is one thing to look out for before investing? How will the investor verify if they are trustworthy of your money and the project is legitimate? I have seen a lot of scam projects with the same tactics, and they do it to remain untraceable. Even if there's a clear indication that people should avoid risking their money into this project, they won't mind it because they get dazzled by the money. We should be aware that some projects may seem enticing, but that does not mean that they don't have a malicious plan.
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: India will Implement Law For Prohibition of Crypto Trading on: September 17, 2020, 03:38:05 PM
I'm not from India so I'm not really familiar with how the government perceives or side with cryptocurrency, but I've also recently heard about this. Probably, there is a chance that they might ban crypto but I doubt that it'll happen sooner since it's still not clear. Also, I have tried to search for information about this, and this is what I first saw, so I don't really think there's a need to worry yet since the bill will probably take years to finish discussing.

516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DeFi] Some excellent topics on DeFi. on: September 17, 2020, 02:03:47 PM
Since many people are interested in investing their funds in Defi projects, they should check your list to see different information along with the thoughts and opinions of other people about it. This way, they will no longer have difficulty in gathering information that will support their decision-making. They will see a different viewpoint and will easily analyze the differences between those projects.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: September 17, 2020, 12:16:00 PM
It's best for your friend to consult with an expert to help him stop or lessen his addiction to gambling because based on your story, it's not healthy anymore. It's really hard when you get out of control with spending your money and having an addiction because it will affect not only you but also the people around you.

We often say it here what could gambling addiction do to us, and how should we control ourselves but outside this forum, there's a lot of people suffering from addiction. But really, your friend can still do something to change, he just needs to accept it and be willing to change for the best.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TOP FIVE SECRETS OF MAKING IT BIG IN BETTING WORLD on: September 16, 2020, 04:59:51 PM
It amazes me because of how strong your emotional and mental state because you've been doing it for 15 years which is a long year, and on how you manage to conquer your struggles and problems that you faced with gambling. That's why gambling is indeed not of emotionally weak people.

I like your advice op, especially on how you should perceive gambling as a business. I don't gamble too often and I can't afford to lose a big amount of money just like what you've experienced so I don't really have this big realization as yours. But since you've shared it, I think I learned some advice, and thanks for sharing this.
519  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid economic impact - How can Bitcoin help to boost global economy? on: September 16, 2020, 01:38:34 PM
Bitcoin is not always an answer to every economic problem we encounter. Yes, the current pandemic has affected millions of employees and lost their jobs but I don't think we can always push bitcoin in finding a solution for this. Personally, this pandemic also affected my family since my father temporarily had no job during the hard lockdown but I found different opportunities here in crypto that helped my family financially even if my father has no job. It helps me, and for sure most of us here too, but I don't think everyone who lost their jobs can find jobs or income here or something to reduce unemployment.
