681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What makes a good bettor? on: August 08, 2020, 04:56:10 PM
For me, people can be a good bettor, they need to have skills depending on what they are going to bet, and also knows how to handle their bets. I mean, let's say betting in horse racing, you need to have knowledge about the horses, jockey, and their history how well they do. But it's not just about it, you also need to know how to handle your money to avoid big losses. Losing is always there in betting, but if a bettor knows how to lessen his losses, then he can be successful at some point, IMO.
682  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos Withdrawal Fees Rise | August 2020 🔥 on: August 08, 2020, 02:43:41 PM
Well, I don't usually gamble but that's also one thing that we can't avoid when the price of bitcoin increases. However, even with the increase, I still gamble with bitcoin just because I'm so used to it and I feel more comfortable using it that I don't bother using other coins regardless if bitcoin has a higher withdrawal fee.

Maybe also one thing that higher withdrawal fees is not bothering me much because I only gamble occasionally, meaning I don't have to make a lot of withdrawals. Also, the last time I made my withdrawal, it is not that high.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do scams harm Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world? on: August 08, 2020, 01:03:19 PM
I think it's not about the media making people believe that bitcoin is all about scam since scamming has been always there, and what they do is to update people with recent news.  Although it may affect what people think about bitcoin since what they keep on seeing is the negative side of it. But I don't think this will affect bitcoin's reputation at all for a long time since there are people who still believe in bitcoin.

You see, paper money is also always involved in scamming and hacking activities but it does not affect its reputation to the public since it's is not just about illegal activities. The same goes for bitcoin, people just need to learn to fully understand bitcoin and change their perspective about it.
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why most people think Bitcoin is a scam? on: August 08, 2020, 11:08:26 AM
What I think is some people probably heard bitcoin through news related to scamming, hacking, fraud, and such that's why when they hear bitcoin, they had this thinking already build on their minds that it's a scam. What I mean is, when people lack deep knowledge about a certain thing, they just believe in what they know even if it's not true because they are not interested at all.

It's not really easy to convince people when they already think bitcoin is a scam. Also, it takes a lot of time and effort to teach those what really bitcoin is, and like what I said, not everyone is interested that's why they just stick to what they believe.
685  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do if you get scammed! on: August 07, 2020, 01:43:03 PM
It will just remember on how foolish am I so I'd rather not play that song whenever I get scam nor doesn't have plan to be a victim of those in future, maybe we should set our minds and forget things quickly since its a big headache for us to remember on our money loss from those scammers out there.
I think the beat of the song is not appropriate if you got scammed, and it feels like it's asking you to dance to it. But I don't think getting in that situation will want you to dance. Rather than listening to the song, I will tell my friends about what happens and would ask for their help, but if I can't do anything, I will just let out my frustration and move on although it may be hard depending on how much money you lose. I mean, getting scammed will never be a nice thing, but it will serve a lesson to be careful with our bitcoins.
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Regulations in online Gambling sites on: August 07, 2020, 10:30:01 AM
£100 as a monthly cap is really a low limit for those gamblers that are even reaching more than this cap per month. There are good purposes and reasons why they are looking into making this happen.

But for now, let's wait for the future updates.

At the moment this is just a proposal, who knows what will happen.
I guess it may vary from the amount of income you have, and how financially capable a gambler is. Maybe this £100 is for those who barely have a stable income or something since I think they are just trying to prevent gambling addiction. But if a gambler is rich enough to afford more than £100, then they can probably have a bigger monthly cap.

They have a good intention about this but for sure, we will see some gamblers and operators who will disagree with this proposal.

688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reason hunters dump reward as soon as received. Trust Exchange etc on: August 07, 2020, 09:03:32 AM
Probably, the reason why they immediately sell their token after receiving it is because of the profit. But, we all know everyone can dump their coin as long they have it. Bounty hunters always think for the profit that's why they will never hold the token rewards in the bounty project and I guess if they see the project is promising and have a good future probably they will not sell it. Most of the bounty hunters don't get enough profit after they received the rewards because the investors already dump the token in the market and as far as I know most of the investors who participate in the presale have a chance to get bonuses which give them more token.
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Average Congressman has nearly 60 years. Can those grandpas regulate bitcoin? on: August 07, 2020, 08:05:29 AM
I think it's only one of the factors why they are not really interested in crypto or bitcoin, as well as regulating it because they are personally struggling to understand it. But we know that when these politicians tackle something in the congress, they study it beforehand, so I guess they also seek advice to those who have special knowledge about bitcoin in order to come up with the regulations. Since it will involve their people once regulations have been made, of course, they are also looking at it carefully. Although not everyone in the position is open for this technology innovation.

691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New normal world will make crypto better on: August 06, 2020, 05:26:36 PM
You could say that the economies of the countries hit by Covid19 are currently experiencing a collapse, including my country. For entrepreneurs it is very difficult to get back up, and many people have lost their jobs because the company cannot afford to pay wages (effect of covid19). of course cryptocurrency has a good opportunity to be used as an alternative investment and as a means of non-cash payment (especially bitcoin).
No doubt that in times of crisis like this, it will always affect the economy and the traditional market. The sudden stop of most businesses from operating, limited export and import, job losses, and more, it will surely have a decline in the economy and the market. But as for cryptocurrency, since it's isn't directly related to the individual economy of a certain country, it's a good alternative for the people to make investments. And this just shows the opportunity that the crypto market has.

but I have a little question, whether people will be busy looking for new business opportunities by getting into cryptocurrency, or will only focus on how to deal with being the most beautiful of Covid19 and leave the rest to the government ... !!!!!!
Not everyone is really open to this kind of adoption or investment, so when they struggle, they just depend and blame everything on the government without really looking at other opportunities they can get.

693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos Scared of Lawsuits on: August 06, 2020, 01:55:10 PM
Even if they are a small casino business, if they are following the proper guideline and protocols, they don't have to worry or be afraid of possible lawsuits. Customers and employees can also complain if they are really not showing any proper sanitation, but if they are imposing those protocols, then there would be no problem.

We are aware that a lot of people also don't follow some rules like wearing masks, but these casinos have the authority not to let those people in if they are not following the rules to ensure everyone's safety inside the facility.
694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: August 06, 2020, 10:48:34 AM
The UK government has been really trying to regulate gambling to prevent addiction, especially now that quarantine can also make people be more addicted to gambling. However, with this restriction, gamblers, and operators wouldn't probably agree with this. It would be more complicated for both if they have to prove that they can afford those losses. Also, according to the gaming industry, further restrictions can cause more job losses from the industry and the reduction of tax revenue.

Quote
“We disagree with the suggestion of an arbitrary and random low cap on spending and can think of no other area of the economy where the government determines how much an individual can spend,” read a statement from the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC). “Some 30 million people enjoy an occasional bet, whether that’s on the lottery, bingo, or sports and gaming, and the overwhelming majority of them do so perfectly safely.”

695  Economy / Economics / Re: What should you learn so you never get affected by a economic crises ? on: August 05, 2020, 02:58:10 PM
I find the video interesting but I think it's too early to reach or if it's even possible that we will reach that phase where humans are the ones who will adjust to AIs and computers when humans made them in the first place. And I think, we cannot avoid getting affected by economic crises especially when you are living in a country that is facing a crisis.

And economic crisis could be arise for different reasons, what a computer can do if the whole world is under natural disaster situation?
I agree with this, there are things that computers and AI cannot do to prevent or save the economy from an economic crisis like natural disasters.
696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH will touch 10,000$ to 12,000$ at the end of 2020. on: August 05, 2020, 01:51:22 PM
I am analyser of the crypto market and this time BTC will make a great pump but i hope that the ETH will also go so much up this year and soon all the ALT coins will go up in the market.
Can you share your analysis of this so we can see how you end up on predicting that price? I have doubt to you OP and I don't know if you're really a crypto analyzer/analyst or whatsoever because you didn't even put any basis that helps you to prove about the price of Ethereum. I'd rather believe that Etherum will return to its all-time high price than hoping it will reach the price that OP gave. I guess all replies here are now waiting for your analysis about the price of Ethereum and I'm hoping you will provide it.

698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Netherlands pilot scheme to allow women to play in senior men's team on: August 05, 2020, 11:19:54 AM
I'm not against their idea of them trying to mix men and women in one team since it's up to them. But I don't think for the next years or 10 years, we will see a lot of chances like this since there will always be a difference when it comes to their strength.

Let's be honest, even if we say that some women can be as strong as other men or can be as good as them, in this kind of sport, physical contact is inevitable and that would be hard for them to play with men. But it's also kinda interesting to see how well the game will be.
699  Economy / Economics / Re: Pray for Our World (Pray for Lebanon) Another Economic Crisis on: August 05, 2020, 09:00:44 AM
It's really tragic and this is what I first saw when I woke up and it just made it worse since this thing happened in the middle of a big crisis. By just watching the video, you can say that it's huge damage to both people and the country. And this isn't just what Lebanon is facing right now. Based on some posts I saw, they also have the 3rd highest inflation rate in the world.

We all wished for a good year yet 2020 continues to fail us with all the things that happened already. Praying for everyone there in Lebanon.
700  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Nauusong "easy-money" on: August 04, 2020, 04:43:00 PM
