Steven Seagal performed during biker show in Sevastopol:

Why is Steven Seagal in Ukraine?  Huh It doesn't seem like a good holiday destination right now
782  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-10] Bitcoin Suspected to Be NSA or CIA Project on: August 10, 2014, 10:19:51 AM
These people are just stupid, if Bitcoin was an NSA/CIA backdoor, why would they release it open source? The logic just doesn't make any sense, I think it's possible that the person who made it had some kind of link to the intelligence community but they'd probably be another Edward Snowden but instead of just leaking they created an actual counter to all the spying that's going on.
The NSA uses many open source tools from the web, like snort.
They did release some open source things though:
"NSA open sources Google database mimic "
"NSA releases ultra-secure open source Android derivative"
and so on.

Most people at the NSA are more like system administrators, as their job is analyst not software developer or kernel hacker. It is unlikely that they would have developed any coin. Much of their interest goes to security and crypto which is related however. By creating bitcoin they would shoot themselves in the foot - they cannot spy on it easily  Cheesy

783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar Question on: August 10, 2014, 10:06:55 AM
I have 3750 Stellar in a exchange and currently i will get 0.022 BTC for 3750 stellar. Should i sell now or hold for more time? What do you think? Price will go up or not?

Stellar has been going up for the last 7 days http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/stellar/
In most cases an altcoin behaves like a bell curve, so you could take this as an assumption.
Then there are these scenarios:

1. Stellar goes down, you lose 0.022 BTC
2. Stellar goes up by a factor 10, you have 0.22 BTC

If you hold, you have a 50% chance to make more.
If you sell, you have a 100% certainty to have 0.022 BTC

Personally I would pick the risky option, as it's only been listed for 7 days.  If you take another altcoin as comparison, for example, blackcoin, it had been rising for 2.5 month - or Ixcoin rising for one month. I would wait another 7 days for selling, but as I said its a risk.
784  Economy / Economics / Re: Has anyone made a comfortable living only investing in crypto trends? on: August 10, 2014, 10:01:35 AM
Alt coin developers probably make quite a lot compare to a regular job.

Remember, some of the developers were involved in several coin projects and then abandon the coin after the initial pump from unsuspected investors.
I think a lot of the altcoins are really nothing more then a way to make their creators rich. IMO they serve very little, if any, other purpose. Bitcoin is able to provide much more then what any other altcoin can provide.

There were many scamcoins which made their creators really rich, sometimes scammers are really clever I have to admit.
Are there any famous examples of altcoin creators getting really rich?
785  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-10] Image Sharing Platform Imgur to Support Bitcoin Payments for Premiu on: August 10, 2014, 09:48:38 AM
This is big news, imgur is a site with about 127 million visitors per month and about 1 million page views per month.  Smiley

E-mail is not an official statement of course, but it's a step in the right direction.
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incredible Digital Currencies Course by the University of Nicosia - MOOC on: August 10, 2014, 09:44:43 AM
I have just finished the exam and wondered what other people thought the course was really good.

It was really in-depth and covered the ranging topics covering the Bitcoin ecosystem and origins of money.

I would definitely recommend undertaking it and I believe they run it again in October. Very interactive and the live Q + A sessions were great.

What's the contents of this course? is it free? What did you learn from it?

here is the newsweeks research (...)
Stopped reading when I saw these two words next to each other:

Thanks for the laugh, OP.
+1 LOL

For the OP: I would find it very unlikely that the CIA and/or the NSA was behind bitcoin. They would gain nothing by creating BTC, and would create a number of headaches that they are dealing with that are BTC and crypto related.

Wow guys, just wow, go to your mainstream media again to tell you what to think, because obviously you are afraid just to THINK about the POSSIBILITY of existence of an alternative.

What would the USA gov. had to gain by creating bitcoin? There are several things, i have written them even down here few months ago.

Most of the US gov. would be incapable of creating something like bitcoin. The CIA is lacking in technical skills, so they always ask others (NSA, Google) for help.

If it was made by Google, they would think of a way to profit from it, not give it out freely. As for the NSA, they would have made it in C#  Cheesy
789  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Freedom of press in Ukraine - not on: August 09, 2014, 10:31:37 PM
This is really bad news, we've seen for a long time that the freedom of the press is under attack. After all, Julian Assange is still stuck in an embassy.
I think this clearly indicates there's some guys in the west making big money from this war.
You haven't shown any logic to justify your conclusions.

I could counter your claim by saying "since some guys in Russia are losing a lot of money, obviously they must be desperate to stop those losses, using any means they can".
Sure, the Russian government can make financial benefit from this too. But, the average Greek or Irishman middle class really has no benefit from this war.
790  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ethnic cleansing in Ukraine. on: August 09, 2014, 10:23:22 PM
Are you sure you've got the right border this time? Can't see bits of Poland in the distance like last time? Since there are no obvious landmarks, it's just a crowd of people who could be anywhere.

You'll notice a girl in a very short jeans / skirt, this is impossible in middle east. The picture is taken during summer (now), so it cannot be taken in say Alaska.  There are no landmarks, but that in itself is a landmark.  For example, the paint quality on the road is quite bad. The sky is clear, which is the current situation above Europe.  I am not sure where exactly it is taken, but there are definitely a lot of clues in the photo.
791  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: btc-e account hacked :( on: August 09, 2014, 08:39:02 PM
I have used yahoo

You could try to get a login history (IP-based) from Yahoo. Yahoo keeps logs of all information it can get from computers, including IP-address, yet I don't know if they are willing to share it. But I remember a story about Hillary Yahoo hacked in the past, so you might be in luck.
Other than that, did he send any e-mails from your account?
792  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Snowden granted 3-yr residence permit - lawyer on: August 09, 2014, 08:30:59 PM
Yep to clarify he can travel internationally with his new visa so its likely he will head to Central or Southern America

I don't think that is possible. If he boards on an aircraft which takes him to Ecuador from Russia, the CIA will interrupt the flight mid-way, and then escort Snowden to the US. It has happened before.

The CIA would do this again, they are playing dirty games for corporations - they may even blow up the entire airplane. The more attention they put to it the more they make a clown of themselves. The whole world knows they are doing dirty games and abusing the privacy of our entire nation.

Quote
IMO, Snowden might be feeling happy about it. But if I am not wrong, he originally planned to go to Ecuador and seek asylum there. Not a viable plan right now, it seems at this point of time.

Russia can be a good place to live. The secret service hoped that he would fly to Ecuador in order to kill him. He simply was more smart than the people at the NSA/CIA  Cheesy

793  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I am creating a bitcoin faucet on: August 09, 2014, 07:41:23 PM
I have just started working on it, what do you think about it?

http://flamelier.com/roblox/microfaucet/

the link can't open, maybe the server is down, can you teach how to make this faucet ?
i hope you can teach me how to make this faucet
thanks ...

That server seems down from here too. What do you mean by make this faucet?
794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best bitcoin faucets? on: August 09, 2014, 07:32:35 PM
Faucets have a very low return on invested time., but it's better to do something than nothing at all.
You can earn between 0 and 0.00001000 BTC per day from a faucet.

Every person have his own view about this but I am using these faucets for last one year and now I have very good amount of nearly 34 coins in my cryptsy and mintpal accounts I never buy from my own pocket or any personal investment I have all these just because of these faucets

34 BTC from faucets? or do you mean alt coins?
795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is CIA/NSA etc. project... what is the newest info supporting this? on: August 09, 2014, 07:30:45 PM
CIA/NSA - secret project - more likely to be some like Symantec, Apple, Windows, Google, Facebook and many more closed source
BTC - open source - no secret

Yeah but that wouldn't stop it from being a project started by a closed source company. Even though I highly doubt that Bitcoin was started by any secret agency, it being open source is in no way a proof that they didn't invent it!
BTC could help increase the profits of the above companies by providing them an alternate way to get paid for their products.

Like BTC transactions, it is very difficult to reverse a shipment of a phone once the buyer has received it.

None of these companies are using BTC as far as I'm aware of. and.. why would it have been made by an american secret service, if at all. It could be the chinese secret service - as away to get more money into china. But.. I think the main motivation has been to provide the people with more freedom
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoGraffiti - Block Chain Message Encoder & Decoder on: August 09, 2014, 07:27:07 PM
For example it could be used as a notary service and as an alternative to patenting inventions.

Instead of writing down and idea and posting it to yourself you can type the idea in to a file, create a SHA1 hash of it and put it in the block chain. If at a later stage someone tries to steal your idea you can prove that it originated with you, or at least that you recorded it first.

Wow, I was looking for something like this!
I'm definitely going to do this.
I want to make some predictions about the future and store my will in the blockchain!

In which ways is it different than making a transaction and putting the text in a label? If I'm not mistaken both are inside the blockchain
797  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: btc-e account hacked :( on: August 09, 2014, 07:24:32 PM
My btc-e account was hacked on Thursday 7th and my 1100NMC + 1400PPC where withdrawn without me. they hacked my email too. the address they send my NMC to is: NKoRGdKkDHNQSTXwednEdyMsgnJA2oyxk2 and the address they used for PPC is: PXsMukRtNKo7rYrNoarMRnfqoNkff9k5E6 .
I sent tickets to btc-e support and they said: Your funds are gone out of the exchange and we can't bring them back to you.
what should I do???

which email provider did you use? how did they get in your mail?
I think what you should do is contact your mail provider and ask if they have any log files. The person could have simply logged in your mail without protecting their anonymity. I guess that's the first step you can take  Smiley
798  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-09] IB Times: Bitcoin Suspected to Be NSA or CIA Project on: August 09, 2014, 07:19:00 PM
I don't think the NSA nor the CIA would have time to develop a currency which can be used to by pass banks and governments. Why would they want this?

Interesting, they put this information in the children brain and they will actually kill innocent people, perhaps they are the easiest to brainwash.
