801  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 05, 2023, 09:46:07 PM
Hence the question: do you know anyone who is successful trading in crypto? or are you doing well by trading crypto?

Myself. It's just that personally, I don't do daytrading. My trades span at least a week, to months. As for how you do it, you just need a decent strategy and a lot of reading of documents, and a lot of browsing on Twitter.
I am not really good in trading but I have also not been losing that bad when trading. Because as long as we trade using our decent and working strategies and keeps on improving our knowledge and skills in trading, we can expect to come up with successful trading later on. Of course, there are still inevitable losses and but at least we were able to maximize our profits too.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 04, 2023, 10:48:11 PM
Both offers convenience.

And that's why the difference is just all about the location and the ambience but nevertheless, both are comfortable and will really urge you to gamble more because they're making you like the boss.

I've seen the same story before that's also posted in here and the control from the gambler is loosening when he's at that much loss. The losing itself contributes a lot in becoming addicted to gambling because you'll come again and have that urge of taking back your losses.
If your mindset is to gamble again to chase for more profits or chase to recover from all your losses, you will never be responsible in gambling, and expect to see yourself addicted in the end. Casinos are casinos, and they will always make us their boss and superiors, but it’s not actually only observed in casinos, but in all aspects of business wherein their aim is to maximize their sales and be in high profits.
803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 04, 2023, 09:53:01 PM
Suppose I am doing business through an online Facebook page and website and want to accept Bitcoin. But now if I look at cryptocurrencies it comes with high volatility, and I have doubts whether accepting Bitcoin will be profitable for my business.
I really want to know your opinion on this and what are the initial steps I should take if I adopt cryptocurrency for my business? Because I see many people on the forum are taking steps to accept Bitcoin for businesses and that's why these questions araised in my mind.

We are now in a digital age so expect that everything will go digital now, except for traditional businesses that only accept traditional fiat. So if you want to be ahead of others, then always take advantage of the present opportunity that is in front of you. Accepting bitcoin as a payment is the trend now, regardless of its volatility, if you understand it and knows it would be highly valuable in the future, then you will never slip chances of wanting it.
804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: January 02, 2023, 09:03:58 PM
Before we close this thread though, I was surprised to read that Manny has signed the Japanese promoter Rizin,

Quote
Manny Pacquiao is taking his talents to Japan.

The 44-year-old boxing legend announced on Saturday that he’s inked a deal with Rizin to compete in the promotion in 2023 against an opponent still to be determined. Pacquiao appeared in the ring during the Rizin 40 card where he addressed the crowd at the Saitama Super Arena.

https://www.mmafighting.com/2022/12/31/23533315/manny-pacquiao-announces-he-signed-rizin-with-plans-to-fight-in-2023

So I guess there's no stopping Manny now for having this kind of exhibition fight this 2023.

And probably this is good, I mean he said that he is willing to face any of the current champion at 147 lbs in professional level, but we all know that he will be damage by either Spence or Crawford, so much better to stick with exhibition matches, just saying.

I agree. I don't doubt Manny Pacquiao's talent but honestly fighting the current champions of 147 pounds? Seriously, he won't be getting out of that fight unscathed even if he will just fight the challengers below the line of Crawford and Spence. Pacquiao already has done so many things when he was still fighting professionally, there's no need to prove anymore that he can still give a good fight because body is not that sturdy anymore and I reckon that it's been years already since he had an intense training. It's much better for him to focus on exhibition fights where it's much safer and he can still earn millions per fight.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: January 02, 2023, 08:39:05 PM
Ok let's here it straight again from Arum,

Quote
Arum believes the fight will be announced in the coming weeks.

"That fight is essentially made. We're looking for the site and the date and that'll be announced shortly," Arum told Sky Sports. "I had lunch with Bill Haney, Devin's father and Devin joined us and they're all ready.

https://www.boxingscene.com/arum-on-haney-vs-lomachenko-fight-essentially-made--171517

Probably it's the date that they are discussing in the background, there are no hindrance whatsoever, both boxers are already on board on this fight and we fight fans are very excited to see this fight.

Others says that Loma is getting old specially in his last fight wherein we didn't see the hi tech in that fight.

On the other hand, Haney is fresh from back to back wins against Kambosos and has all the belts.

So the making of a great fight is already laid out, it's just the boxers that we need to wait and give us a good showing maybe before the first quarter of this year.

That's quite relieving to know that this fight is already 90% good to go and that they are only struggling to find the right schedule and place to set-up the fight. I understand that part because organizers needed an exact place and time to maximize the profits that will be generated in the fight, and that's no other big events that will happen on the same day too because the people will be divided.

Hopefully this fight will be arranged as soon as possible because we've been wanting this fight for more than a year already as both boxers are known for their impressive technicalities. I just hope that Loma is not that out of his prime yet so that we will witness a much entertaining fight.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 02, 2023, 08:18:44 PM
Everyone was expecting Giannis to play, but he didn't play last night. That's why they lost the game and everyone's bet lost.
If I had known, I wouldn't have played.
Only my Memphis bet won.
Sometimes it's nice to put our bet during game time, this kind of bad news is inevitable, so that will make our bet useless as we will likely lose. On the other hand, it could also be on our favor if the star player of the opposing team will not play, so it's just a gamble, but if you don't wanna gamble like this, better wait until game time.

Somehow, that is much safer especially if the team you're rooting is listing the stars as probable or questionable to play that specific game, in that case, then it's really good to bet when the game commences so that you're bet won't go down the drain just like what happened yesterday when Giannis suddenly sidelined. The downfall of that is the odds will really change, but I guess it's still reasonable rather risking it.

Anyway, I'm riding with the Pacers -1 and Cavaliers -4 .. GL guys.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 02, 2023, 07:40:20 AM
And according to Ryan Garcia's trainer, the fame Joe Goossen, Ryan is the harder puncher of the two,

Quote
“The thing is, I think per square inch, Ryan possesses a much heavier punch [than Davis]. I believe that for a particular reason. With that said, neither one of these guys want to get hit with the other guy’s best shot.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-packs-heavier-punch-tank-davis-says-trainer-joe-goossen--171395

Obviously, he will praise Garcia and tell us what advantage he has against Tank not just in terms of power though.

And I do agree, either one doesn't want to get hit by the other one because for sure this is going to be a knock out. And the one that blinks in this fight, will wake up in the canvass after they get hit.
It’s always expected that he will favor and praise his own pet because whatever the performance of Ryan, that will also reflect on the trainer’s performance on how he handle his trainee. Yes, Ryan has a heavier punch but Davis has also the best shot when inside the ring, as both of them are also considered world-class boxers. So with all those serious and heavy trainings they have both experiencing right now, I guess everyone deserves to witness another world class event that is obviously a must watch for all of us.

we are expecting a toe-to-toe fight on this match. but i am guessing, garcia will be the underdog on this upcoming match. they are saying this will possibly happen this coming April. though no belts are on the line, seems that they are getting attention from the boxing fans generating possibly a fat paycheck for both. on a side note, i believe davis has better advantage when it comes to prep for this fight as he has a tune-up fight before garcia, whereas, garcia cancelled his fight with gesta. which should be a very good one to test his preps.

Yes, this fight indeed going to be an interesting bout to watch in April if both camps can really make it to their timetable and if Tank Davis can settle his battery case so that he too is free to fight against Ryan Garcia in April but as for the bookies, Garcia will be the underdog and Gervonta Davis will be the favorite. Also, there's a belt on the line because Davis here will be defending his title as he have the regular WBA belt in the lightweight division (Devin Haney got the Super belt).
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 02, 2023, 03:52:00 AM
I think Nash would have been fine along with the Nets if they just gave them some time.

I have to agree with this but the Nets are under pressure as they really need to consider what's the best thing to do that will benefit the whole team.

If only they can keep Nash and Durant at the same time, things will go smoothly. A personal problem between them that is not exactly mentioned and surely no solutions to solve that not unless there is someone that needed to be let go.

Moving forward, seems the Nets are now slowly seeing the results of their decision. Hope to keep it that way.

We only did hear the issue between Durant and Nash from insider news, neither really claim or denied that there is some friction between them. But in the end, Nash has to make a sacrifice and after he left we didn't hear anything negative from Durant.

But let's be honest, after Nash left the team is in better shape now. So the decision is good for the Nets management to fire him and then kept Durant and Irving for at least this season as they have the longest running streak now if I'm not mistaken. And it's going to be a great run for them if ever they go the Eastern conference finals because they were close 2 years ago.

That left Steve Nash with no choice because the Nets management chose the superstar Kevin Durant over him and moved-on to find another head coach in replacement of Steve Nash. I'm just inclined that they chose not to disclose the real issue because there's really no reason on their behalf to let the public know, freeing Steve Nash was already enough news for the public to know.

And honestly, that got me thinking that the Nets will really have a hard time this season because of the unnecessary firing of Nash but I'm surprised to see the opposite thing because it turns out that they are on a much comfortable situation now without Nash. Now, they are sitting next to the Boston Celtics in the ECF.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If your friend would tell you this... on: December 31, 2022, 10:40:09 PM
<snip>
Beforehand, I will make confirm if he/she is really serious and is open to whatever happen during the session. I will explain to him the odds from different games (e.g., slots, live games, in-house games, etc.)
If we proceed, I will play in both slots and live games such as blackjack and bacarrat. Might also try playing roullete.
Great, First you should clear everything to your friend like odds, risk etc.  Because your friend may blame you when you lose gambling.  Since your friend will provide the funds for gambling. So your friend must clear everything.  So that your friend can't blame you. Then you can try to profit by gambling in any medium.  And if you can make good profit to your friend then it is good for him

Yes, it might be best first you and your friend to clear things up before moving on the betting platform or whatever casino that you guys are more comfortable to gamble the funds with. And, let it be clear on your side that there's no guarantee that the said funds will gain huge profits at the end of the day because the truth is, your chances to win would be never that high because the advantages belongs to the casino already. So, it'll be a battle of luck.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 31, 2022, 10:16:32 PM
So he might go with Thurman here, I think it will be good to include Thurman in his resume as well. He has a lot already, Danny Garcia, Ugas, Porter, and if he can add Thurman in his resume, it looks like he has clean the division not name Crawford.

The only way to declare him as the best in this division is if he can beat Crawford. It's his biggest rival and probably his biggest fear too because it seems like he is not willing to give a chance for this big fight to happen. Instead of getting into an undisputed fight, he chooses a challenger which is Thurman.

That's a straight fact you got there my friend! Dealing with Terence Crawford and end the fight in Errol Spence's favor is the one and only way I see to get Spence's name clear in the line and to be named as the best boxer of the welterweight division because defeating Crawford now will also mean that he will be the undisputed champion at 147 pounds.
If he can do that, there will be no argument nor doubts anymore about him, but that is if he will fight Crawford inside the year of 2023 because delaying their fight also means that he's just scared to face the current Crawford.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling For Fun - What Does This Mean To You? on: December 31, 2022, 10:03:26 PM
Here Is What Gambling For Fun Mean To Me
To me, gambling for fun simply means - gambling, with hopes of making profit, but with the consciousness that if the profit does not come, I choose not to react negatively to the loss, or allow the loss way me down or make me feel bad, I just focus/put/fix my mind on the fun I had playing the game rather than focus or fix my mind on the money I lost.

Well, that's gambling for you and I understand if that's how you view gambling activities because I have a lot of friends that actually has the very same reasons as you do, and as for them, "why'd you go and playing gamble without a getting some profits on your mind?" which is true because somehow you won't actually go on a gambling game if you don't have any intentions to win and you're just there to waste it.

But for me, I view gambling differently because as for me, gambling is one of the most expensive form of entertainment and when I gamble, I don't do it for money because my aim is to get entertained forget the outside world for a bit and to blow off some steam especially if I'm too stressed. In that way, I won't be having a heavy heart once I get some losses along the way because that's not what I'm aiming for and if I win, I view it as a bonus only.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: December 30, 2022, 08:47:34 PM
I do not know about you guys, but I gamble because I like it and because it is a hobby as well as an addiction. I'm good with myself, as I already admitted to having an addiction but tried to find and apply techniques to avoid getting off track and spending all of my money on gambling. It's quite easy for me to control my gambling anxiety as I already follow strict rules that help me stay on the line.

What about you guys? Do you have any addiction to gambling? What drives you to gamble? Is it the long shot of having a big profit coming in or is gambling simply a way of spending time for you?
I can say that I’m addicted to gambling but not in the sense of putting myself into a lot of losses since I’m capable enough to play responsibly and manage well my finances. And what drives me into gambling is obviously the profits and the satisfaction I get everytime I started gambling. But in times I lose my funds, I know it’s inevitable, then I just have to accept that gambling is not just profiting but also losing too. That way, I become to be more mature in gambling.
813  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trading strategy becomes obsolete? on: December 30, 2022, 08:13:47 PM
Nah, they won't become obsolete.

No matter what happens to the market, these strategies will remain and will still be applicable mostly to the markets where it's been mostly used. That's why even in other markets, these have been tried and seen to be a good indicator.

It's just so happen that there are too many of them and you've got to choose what's proven to be good and effective. They might not work for sometime and that's why there are other strategies you can work for.
Strategies are built not to become obsolete and outdated when time comes. Sure some might not be working in a bearish market condition, but it can still be considered effective when the market turns bullish as we find it easily to trade when the market is bullish. So strategies will not become obsolete, but we also have to improve them and enhanced them when we see they are not that useful anymore.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling For Fun - What Does This Mean To You? on: December 30, 2022, 07:29:23 PM
Gambling for fun is simply just betting on something you like doing or watching. But whether you gamble for fun or not, it's only ourselves who knows it.
It only feels like you are fooling yourself by betting on sports you don't like but cheering for the team you put your money on. Its probably a gambler's idea of fun but for some people, the idea of fun is just partying and drinking and catching up with friends.

Gambling alone is fun if you do it more for entertainment, and not just for the profits you can gain from it. But it would be more fun and satisfying too if you gamble and then you won eventually. But I believe if you see gambling as another way of making money, that won’t be fun anymore if you gamble and then you keep losing your funds. My idea of gambling for fun, is that you do it naturally with your good friends, without being pressured that you also need to make profits as well.
815  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie I stay off shitcoin and it paid off, Bitcoin is the king. on: December 30, 2022, 06:54:08 PM
After I started my Bitcoin holding journey a few months ago,
At that time, my close friend Sam! also have some capital he want to put away in cryptocurrency, and I advised him to buy Bitcoin instead of an altcoin. But instead of him to have a long-term potential mentality, he was looking for a quick profit so he filled up his portfolio with shitcoin, while I went in on a single portfolio of Bitcoin and when the unexpected of FTX hack happen the whole market in shamble and his altcoin portfolio have dropped above %800+ but my bitcoin holding still maintains some level of stability.

This gives me more confidence in Bitcoin and newbie who are looking for long-term holding should hold more bitcoin, in their private wallet to avoid exchange, but your knowledge to always have a good entry price.
This goes not just for newbies alone but even for those veterans, bitcoin will always be the perfect choice for long term hodling. Although I would not say shitcoins are completely not profitable because a lot of us here have made huge profits from it surprisingly, but they can never sustain their value when hold for long term especially that they can be easily triggered when the market suddenly crash or dump. However, with bitcoin, it’s always designed for long term hodling, profiting might be slowly, but at least we can guarantee that it won’t turned a scam eventually.
816  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 30, 2022, 06:25:09 PM
It is hard to save mostly when one is not in the habit of doing it, me alone saving up to a third of what one earns monthly. Expenses these days be it planned or unplanned is on a high side, and as such one may spend on occasions that are necessary to avoid begging or borrowing.
If one is determined to save a third or more for a goal that is set, I believe it is quite plausible to save up to a third of what one earns.

if not third, at least save something. i can understand that most can't save a third as the income is just enough to cater the basic needs. check your expenses and see where can you save a little. for example, if you used to buying food outside, why not make your own packed lunch or snacks? small strategies will give you some breathing room at the end of the month. and you won't know it, you already stack a big chunk from those savings.
Right. If you find it hard to save a third from your income, then just save any amount that would be fine. It’s not really necessary to hit your goal, what is important is that you are really making an action out of your target goal. In the end, you will be surprise that what you save is already big enough, even when you started it from cents. Even myself, I would really admit saving today seems really hard to do, but if you will think that you can also benefit it in the future, then I have to do because it’s a must.
817  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: December 29, 2022, 10:25:42 PM
This is not the end, right? Smiley

I can tell from the previous winters that the end of a crypto winter has always come by surprise. So no, I don't know if it's over or not, we will know only after it's over.
I tend to believe that this one feels longer than the previous one, still, I think that the crypto winter of 2015 felt longer/worse.

Imho with the current overall interest in bitcoin the people, businesses and financial institutions are showing, the spring will come, sooner or later.
But more patience may be needed, because the world economy is not in a great shape right now.
And, as others also said, make sure you don't lose focus and hold (only) bitcoin (take it as an advise you don't have to follow, if you are still into altcoins, DYOR).
History has always proven that the bear season is not the end yet, a bullish season will still come by surprise so we should always stay hopeful and patient because that’s the only way we can avoid losses. But I also believe that this bearish market will even continue by the next year seeing there are still no positive events that will bring big changes in the market scenario. So keep on hodling bitcoin, as it’s always in bitcoin that we find maximum profits whenever bullish season finally takes place.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attributing wins or loses during gambling/betting to Ego or Simply Intuition. on: December 29, 2022, 09:48:12 PM

We may have been taught several times how to distinguish the intuitive voice from the voice of your ego. Although, it requires a lot of practice and patience to be able to tell their differences apart. One way I have learnt to tell the difference is this, as long as it involves emotions;
When I feel anxious, insecure, or tense from the thought of making a bet or during gambling, the ego is likely guiding me and I might likely lose.
Also, if am feeling uplifted and also feel like the idea is coming from a loving, authentic place, it’s probably my intuition making the call, and during this moment I make great predictions and attract good luck in the form of winnings.

In trying to relate this to gambling/betting, am more or less interested in, how does your feeling/emotions affect your wins or losses when making a bet or during gambling?

Do you care to know if the bet made was attributed to your feelings of ego or you simply followed your intuition?
I never gamble actually when I am emotionally bothered due to some personal problems because that will always affect my decisions on where and what to bet. It’s safer to just stay at home than to lose everything in gambling in times you think your negativity rules over your positivity. However, in times I’m feeling good and lucky, that would be my best time to gamble and explore different games in casino.
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 28, 2022, 10:51:08 PM
Self-exclusive is also one of them, did you things by only a word & mind you're not getting temptation to no playing on the site too? tell me by percentage and how successful is was. Even if you are reading "Responsible Gambling", you can still come back again.

Self-exclusive, I think, is a different story because the purpose of that is to slowly stop gambling.

Here in the topic, we talk about responsible gambling where we are still currently gambling but not to the point that we are turning into the worst gambler. Even gambling regularly, we remain disciplined and with a good attitude toward other things.

We really don't need to stop gambling if, on our end, we can still control it. But in case of a sudden change of behavior in which people are not aware because of too much gambling, then that's the time a serious treatment is necessary.
I think if we still want to continue gambling and just want somehow to control ourselves from not too much losing, then maybe responsible gambling feature might help. But I have not come across this feature so far, and I’m not that totally needing it since I still know how to control myself as a gambler, though I have consistent losses but for me, those are still within my self-control. But still, I would really want to know this feature so that in the future, when I see sudden changes in my gambling behavior, at least I know what to do exactly.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 26, 2022, 06:59:14 PM
Speaking of Casimero, the decision was turn over no contest to knockout by the KBM (Korea Boxing Member's Commission).

Source: https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/othersports/855186/casimero-vs-akaho-result-overturned-to-knockout/story/

Not sure though how will this affect those who bet on Casimero winning by knockout, will casino's also turn over their decision and give the winnings to the bettors? I'm asking this because this is the first time that I see this happening for a a long time.
Thank you for the update bro.
I was expecting that to happen but I didn't know the association will be that fast to investigate and conclude the winner of that fight.
It was too obvious, we all know who won that game.
Now, this will give a push for Casimero for his next battle. Will it be Inoue? If he will stay and try to defend his title then there's a chance they will meet.
Or does Casimero need to fight one more boxer to rank up and reach him?

Maybe the Korean boxing commission was really ashamed on what they see on the Japanese fighter and that's why a swift investigation and reversal of the decision. And Akaho admitted that it he was not really hit behind his head so that admission is enough for them to overturn.

I doubt that Casimero will get Inoue, it seems though that Bob Arum is pushing for Naoya to get an immediate title shot against Fulton.

Although it might hurt those in line, but Top Rank is powerful promotion and could do that to the boxing organizations to request that fight immediately. And it's a good match as well, fans are going to be happy if this fight is going to be made once Inoue moves up.

And Akaho should pay for the embarrassment he gave towards the boxing community because he robbed Casimero's chance to win on that very same day and celebrate afterwards but Ryo Akaho is quite wise to retire first before he was given some penalties as he knew that his career was already over the moment he faked what happened in the ring.

As for Inoue, Bob Arum wasn't the one who is pushing Inoue to fight against Fulton. Truth is, it's the other way around because Arum wanted a much safer journey where his cow, Inoue, can test the waters first before facing Stephen Fulton. It's the WBO who made a huge move and gave Inoue a bantamweight super-champion title where he will have the option to go directly to the champion and waste no more time going through the ranks.

Hopefully, it will be Inoue's decision that will prevail in the end, not Arum. Because that's what Inoue wanted in his 122 lbs, against the champion in Stephen Fulton.

And maybe at the back of the mind of Arum, his cash cow could be damage, but as we have seen Inoue's rise to fame, he has improved a lot so it's going to be a good match and I think he has a equal chances against Fulton or any champion at 122 lbs.

So bring Inoue to fight any one them and chase for another greatness in the super bantamweight division.

I'm with you on that sentiment.

Naoya Inoue truly deserves to face a much tougher and stronger opponent rather than giving him a fight that just looks like a mere tune-up fight, I get what Bob Arum thinks but that is not what Inoue need and want. Facing Stephen Fulton directly will be a challenge to the super champion of course but I do think that Inoue can pretty much handle it and 122 pounds is not that far from bantamweight division, so I guess he won't have some struggles on this new weight class.
