Re: How has Satoshi's identity never been revealed ? I believe its because he/she/they practiced forward planning right from the first piece of code! They knew exactly what had to be done. For someone who could create the entity that is Bitcoin there were added considerations namely to remain anonymous. Because Bitcoin was going to be disruptive and revolutionary it was prudent to remain anonymous and to walk away from the project at a certain time. Everything to date has remained successful for Satoshi.

On the Womens side I'm surprised to see names come up that have been absent for a while especially in the round of 16 stage, Haddad Maia, Soribes Tormo and Jabeur.
Ons Jabeur being able to beat Leylah Fernadez is an encouraging thing for her career so far it was not an impressive performance and today facing Jelena Ostapenko will be the next tough match for her. Soribes Tormo was the most surprising, but facing Swiatek I'm not sure she will put up a tough fight, the three previous meetings she lost in straight sets to Swiatek, but the crowd will be on her side. Well it was easy enough for Ons beating Ostapenko, 0-6 and 4-6. Same for Swiatek, easy day out even when broken in her first game....and immediately broken back, 6-1 and 6-0. Haddad Maia also got the better of Sakkari. Quarter final time tomorrow with Swiatek v Haddad Maia, I cant see Swiatek losing this though. Ons has a tricky match up against Keys, I dont see odds on this one yet, hard to pick a winner.
Just watching Sinner v Kotov and its in the second set with Sinner not having an easy one. He looks to have a problem with his hip for the last few games which is a bit worrying but he is looking good now to win the match after breaking back Kotov.

Actually, there is freedom of speech in America. What there isn't is the knowledge of how to maintain it in court. In America, if you want to maintain your freedom of speech when they take you to court - and loads of other freedoms - you have to stand as a man (or woman). I don't mean macho. I mean unrepresented by an attorney or even by yourself. Stand present, not represented, and the other side can't be represented either. A simple example is, if the IRS takes you to court, when you stand present, you can require to face your accuser... get him on the stand where you can question him under oath about the accusations he has accused you with. Since the IRS always takes a man/woman to court as THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the indictment, get the THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the stand so that you can question your accuser. When there isn't any representation, they can't do it. There isn't any man or woman who is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Case dismissed. But require that it be discharged. And know what you are doing before you do it this way. Expressing your right to freedom of speech shouldnt land you up in court. It looks like the US is very much uncomfortable with its own citizens taking issue publicly with what is going on in Gaza and how they are on one hand voicing their call for restraint from Israel and on the other hand supplying arms to carry out the genocide.
One is not supposed to underestimate the influence the State of Israel can have over the government of Joe Biden and the amount of lobbyist who are likely spending much time in the halls of the US capitol, pressuring lawmakers to move faster with the approval of weapons for Israel and minimize the covering of the Palestinian casualties in the news.
Its not just over the government of Joe Biden, its US every government that they have influence over. They are a powerful and very successful lobby group It is not about being conspiratorial but rather about staying alert on the human right violations being carried out by either side on this conflict.
Well there is plenty of reports about the human rights violations but there is damn all being done about it.

... What were the odds on Rafa today? ...
Rafa Nadal odds against De minaur was @2.50 but lowered up to @2.20 during pre-market. I wasn't able to follow the match but the result surprised me a bit. It is obvious that in his home tournament he wants to achieve maximum results and visibility, but I don't know up to what match his physical condition can be satisfactory. Rafa announced he is going to play doubles together with Carlos Alcaraz at the Olympics in Paris this summer. Very interesting decision, I wonder who initiated this: Rafa or the Spanish tennis federation? Rafa is known to be an average doubles player with rather poor performance at the net. Spain, on the other hand, have one of the longest rosters in sport and can choose from at least a dozen of top level players. What do you think? Is Rafa the right candidate? I dont think I have ever seen Rafa play doubles so I'm not sure if he is the right candidate to pair up with Alcaraz. They better start getting a few tournaments under their belts! A lot of big matches tomorrow, Sinner, Nadal, Medvedev, Ruud, also interesting to see both Bublik and Felix AA put in decent performances to reach the round of 32! but they are in a very tough side of the draw with Ruud, Medvedev and Sinner. On the Womens side I'm surprised to see names come up that have been absent for a while especially in the round of 16 stage, Haddad Maia, Soribes Tormo and Jabeur.

I'm going with a 4 match parlay in todays matches, total 2.83.
Zebre to be beaten at home by Glasgow Warriors Bulls at home to beat the Ospreys Cardiff to be beaten at home by Edinburgh Lions to be beaten at home by Munster
Happy to say my parlay is in the Green! two weeks in a row - this is getting easy! I jestAs I eluded to earlier in the week, table toppers Leinster got hammered again in South Africa by the Stormers, this weekend coming is the big one so all their top players will be in action. Leinster have been overtaken by Glasgow Warriors who will certainly have their eye on some long overdue silverware. Connacht are only coming good at the end of the season and are now up to 6th in the table.
The Tigers got applauded as they left the field at half time (they had a try disallowed and, like the other games this week, the commentators are saying this is a game for the ages). In an hour, the beleaguered Cowboys will try to stare down the Panthers. (The game is being played in Townsville, so the Cowboys may have a home ground advantage) Broncos up to 6th now on the ladder! Cowboys v Panthers - ah the damage was done in the first half, Cowboys came back into it in the second but not enough time to win!

Well it certainly seems like the banks and possibly governments in Europe anyway are creating ways for us not to use cash.
Credit and debit cards with "convenient" tap and go facilities make it easy for us to pay but it really only plays into the hands of those two entities. They can track our every expenditure for example.
Cash on the other hand is untraceable so I believe there should be and possibly could be a premium on using cash, how that would work out is another question.
If I am paying with cash should I get a discount?

With the halving event come and gone, we are now left to determine if the market now is going as predicted or not,
There is nobody who can "determine" what way the market is going to go. The general consensus is that we are in a Bull market and the market will continue to rise for at least a number of months. investors can take advantages of this and adopt long positions
I hope you dont mean long positions in term of trading because without trading knowledge and experience long positions will get liquidated every time there is a pull back in the market and the inevitable "flash crash" designed specifically to liquidate longs. So in summary investing in BTC at this point in time should be our priority and other promising altcoins.
Bitcoin should be a priority, forget about $hitcoins, the idea of a promising one is an illusion. So a post halving strategy should be buy now, and again when the market dips and whenever you can afterwards.

Steel or Titanium?
If its Steel it needs to be Stainless Steel and there are different grades of SS available for different applications but generally SS does not corrode like mild or carbon steel.
Any other steel wouldnt be recommended because of corrosion.
The same goes for Titanium, it doesnt corrode so a seed phrase stamped onto either of those two metals will survive a flood, i.e Water!
Normally what has been suggested in other threads is that a "seed plate" should be attached to something in your house or garage, something kind of inaccessible or hard to reach and out of plain view obviously so if that is the case it wouldnt get swept away by the receding current.

Yeah, let's see Rafa against de Minaur today. They played recently in Barcelona and de Minaur won easily, it will be a good match to compare and check Nadal's progress.
I expect de Minaur to win again, but if Nadal means business on RG he needs to do a lot better than 2 weeks ago.
Not this time! Rafa probably learned more from that previous meeting than de Minaur did, first set wasnt easy though. He plays Cachin next and if he gets past him I recon it will be a good enough performance for Rafa to decide to play RG... Nadal vs de minaur its interesting also for the high odds for both player. Despite the previous loss the Australian player has a nice odd @1.60 ...
Meanwhile Sinner has won easily against Sonego. He continue a strong progression during this year, lets see what he can achieve from the tournament... This is not his best surface where to play ...
What were the odds on Rafa today? Yea Sinner had an easy day out against his best friend. Next up in a few minutes is Norrie v Fonseca, the odds on this one are 1.5 v 2.5, small bet on Fonseca!

So, exactly when can we have declare an ATH to be? Is it really subjected to any price that just broke the previous ATH even when we know it ain’t going to hold for long? Because we just might have way too many ATH in the previous!
After the Bull market has ended. Historically 12 months approximately after the halving is when the Bull market has ended and the Bear market begins, its has been part of Bitcoins 4 year cycle. or when the market falls for a certain length of time. ATM we can refer to Bitcoins ATH as ~$73,000 If you want to know specifically when that happens - nobody is going to be able to tell you that. There are only two certainties in life 'Death and Taxes'

Broncos have started brightly 0-16 at half time, Tigers have a fair bit of catching up to do now in the second half...
URC
We had two matches last night and between those two matches 131 points were scored! I watched the highlights and both matches were just action packed in terms of scoring.
Scarlets 27 - 32 Sharks Ulster 38 - 34 Bennetton
I'm going with a 4 match parlay in todays matches, total 2.83.
Zebre to be beaten at home by Glasgow Warriors Bulls at home to beat the Ospreys Cardiff to be beaten at home by Edinburgh Lions to be beaten at home by Munster

I think Blanch in 2-3 years will be in top 200
More like in top 20. Nadal will take part in this year's Laver Cup, perhaps this will be his last tournament before finally retiring from tennis completely. What about Roland Garros? I guess RG is the ultimate goal for Rafa this season. If not for RG, Rafa would have retired from tennis already. He just wants to play in Paris so bad for one final time... I posted yesterday that if Rafa doesnt feel like he is going to be competitive at RG he is not going to play! He has already said that this years Madrid is his last one so I guess this is his final year. Osaka won today beating Minnen 6-4, 6-1. She plays Samsonova next which could be a tricky onr
Even though Naomi Osaka lost to Liudmila Samsonova, it was a very close match, and seeing Osaka's good performance on clay, it seems there is hope for her this clay season to achieve something better. Yea if Samsonova is having a good day there are few if any who can beat her and I think she was on top form so even for Osaka playing very good was not enough. I hope too that we see Naomi back to her top form soon, hopefully this clay season.

I'm watching the Storm spank the pants of the Rabbitohs in much the same way the Roosters poured ice over the Dragons to win 60 - 18.
At the start of the day, the Warriors had an early lead which they squandered then were unable to come back to loose 24 - 27.
That'll mean I'm two from three this round.
Jeez, the Rabbitohs are still stuck on the bottom after that loss. If they lose a few more rounds I'd say their season is over. The two teams I'm following this season, Wests Tigers and Broncos are facing off against each other tomorrow, thats a pity but it has to happen. The Warriors would want to up their performance too, they are slipping down the ladder, a bit disappointing after their good season last year.

...whatever is south of Canada.
do you really not know what is south of Canada? The 'West Bank' is an area in the Middle East, a Palestinian territory, I dont think anyone has ever called the East coast of Northern America and Canada the West bank of the Atlantic. I asked Google if there was a magical place called the West bank of the Atlantic and they couldnt tell me. I also checked to see if Google had an answer to the question of "what country is to the South of Canada" and sure enough they had an answer! It is the United States of America! I dove further to see if there were any towns and cities along that coast line, the West bank of the Atlantic occupied by Humans.... Sure enough Google was able to tell me, YES there are people living there, actually one of the largest cities in the world is there, New York!

It certainly will be interesting to see how he competes, also Sinner who has taken a mini break and should be fresh. He is top seed!
Nadal is playing tomorrow. He has also mentioned that this is his last Madrid tournament and if he doesnt think he is competitive he wont play at Paris!
Yeah, the 16 yo guy who is going to play Rafa, I know him a bit. Not personally ofc but I have a certain connection to junior tennis as I mentioned before. So that Blanch guy is really good and is definitely capable of defeating Rafa question is if he's mentally ready for this. That is going to be an exciting match. No is the answer serveria! he was like a "deer caught in the headlights", the prospect of facing off against a living legend of the game was too much. There were some nice rallies and great shot making but he just made too many mistakes, and you cant do that against the top guys, no doubt we will hear more of him! Funny how the draw works out sometimes, Nadal faces de Minaur next, a replay of their meeting at Barcelona 2 weeks ago! Another youngster of the game Fonseca won today in 3 sets against Michelsen and plays Norris next, bit of a chance there for him to progress.

Actually the bull run that would happen after halving event is just a pure speculation.
If halving event is the reason of bull run, why it's need to wait for next few months or year to increase? there's nothing difference between during halving event and a year after halving event because the reward already halved.
I agree that it is all pure speculation as we have neither proof nor any guarantee for it. But the bull season did not come immediately after the halving and that we hastily concluded that the halving was not the catalyst that created the bull season is not entirely correct. Everything takes time to absorb and be effective, we cannot expect it to happen immediately. Furthermore, this is the financial market and if everything is so predictable then who will be the losers in the market? Making money in the financial markets has never been easy and there aren't too many winners, so it has to happen in the most unexpected way. When the crowd is most hopeful and excited, it will not come, but when the crowd becomes depressed and disappointed, that is when the bull season will come. Personally, I still believe that the halving is the catalyst for the bull season, but the market is also being manipulated so the bull season will always come in the most unexpected way. Good points, something I never thought about before but it makes sense that the Halving is the catalyst for the bull market which has followed every time so far. I guess its speculation, everyone knows "its going to happen" and we all move in that direction which actually creates the bull market, maybe its like a self-fulfilling prophecy? Maybe its a HODL'ing thing, there is a increase in adoption, more people getting into Bitcoin, more speculators, more buying and HODL'ing even when the dump happens. Furthermore, this is the financial market and if everything is so predictable then who will be the losers in the market?
The losers will be the ones who essentially "buy high" and "sell low". Some people want to see results before they get into Bitcoin so they only buy when the price is high, we all know that the markets dont keep going up and up. There will be others approximately 12 months from now who will but right before a big market correction if it happens as per previous post halving market corrections

crypto is more of a shortened word for all cryptocurrency
however some define individual coins differently digital assets, digital commodities, tokens, coins, meme-stock, crap coins deflationary currencies,
there is no law on how you define it, there is no law forcing everyone to call bitcoin a 'crypto'. just use terms that describe them properly(good adjectives/nouns) and make the descriptor popular
and also "Cryptography" which is what all Crypto "projects" are based on. Unfortunately because of the negative rhetoric over the years from financiers, politicians and news outlets Bitcoin was primarily at the centre of their attacks. Now even though Bitcoin has garnered a better view from the groups above it is seen to be included in any report about scams or negativity about $hitcoins in the news. They obviously dont/cant differentiate the difference between Bitcoin and Crypto/$shitcoins. Unfortunately, it is what it is and really nothing is going to change.

2.) Auction it to the wider BCT community * funds generated to be divided out among the contributors to cover postage costs incurred ** mj you will have to incur the cost of final postage
If this option is selected, why would other contributor's post cost be covered but not mine? it would be mj! i'm just saying that we have all had to post to the next in line, and the next in line after you will be its final destination. we will all be in the pot for divvying out the proceeds. apologies for not being clearer.

Just hopping back into this thread and WOW what a transformation from first post to this! Ob the Bitcoin ticker on top, which number should be showing? Maybe the all time high, or the actual number as I finish the piece? I think the number you finish this on is the most fitting! Maybe the most fun is which part of our forum the monitor would show? I think it would be interesting to see the first page of this thread or a version of it. I was thinking of again using real gold to paint a couple of details, like the coin in Bitcollector's hand, what do you think? Absolutely, this essentially is the focal point of the piece. And if the shirt can become a statement as well, and ideas? maybe just the BTC symbol as a pattern?
