You'd better go with a serious service like BitPay:

https://bitpay.com/api

You will have to trust a third party, BitPay, completely which is not a good idea IMHO. You should at least have partial access to receiving addresses. A HD wallet is better and more suitable for receiving payments.
903  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost both seed and my google authenticator to my electrum wallet:( on: July 01, 2015, 03:16:14 PM
No offence but GreenAddress is more trusted than yours and has been online for a long time. So personally, I would go for it. https://greenaddress.it/
We're still in our early stages so yes, we are not as well known in the space yet. However, we are legitimate. We just finished Boost.VC's accelerator (Tribe 5) and we won't we going anywhere so expect to see more of us Smiley

I also just want to point out that we are not a wallet provider like GreenAddress. We are an easy-to-use platform to create nLockTime transactions.

By the look of it, you want to 'lock' coins. Using nLockTime won't prevent coins from spending. You should use OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY for improving safety. Anyway, current setup does not help in preventing theft but it does help in scenarios like this because you can create an nLockTime transaction to spend from any address which will be included in a block later. Even if a person looses his/her private key, he/she can still get those coins. Only problem I can see is that we need to trust you with our money. I hope you will find a way to avoid it.

To be fair, GreenAddress is an online wallet but yours is more like a 'tool'.
904  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone successfully implemented blockchain.info's receive payments API? on: July 01, 2015, 03:00:45 PM
Better use hierarchical deterministic wallet. Advantages are:

 - You don't need to rely entirely on third party.
 - You don't need to expose private keys to create corresponding public keys(addresses).

Softwares for various languages are available here -- https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki#Implementations.

Feel free to post here if you need any help.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 0065 on: July 01, 2015, 02:42:42 PM
Wow... so what happens when this OPCODE is implemented and you receive coins you cant spend?

You won't receive locked coins. Roll Eyes

Then when is that opcode implemented? I think opcodes can only be implemented in a transaction. Which means you actually have to send a transaction. Or is there some failsafe that only allows to send to the same address? Would still sound exploitable.

Opcodes are added in transaction script.  Script decides how the next person wanting to spend the Bitcoins being transferred can gain access to them.*

I think I misunderstood your question. I thought you asked what if a user receives locked Bitcoin. No person would receive locked coins. To answer your question: the coins will be locked until preset time has reached. After that, the person will be able to spend those coins.

* Line from Bitcoin wiki.

-snip-
And what happens when a miner doesnt know this opcode and implements the transaction in a block? Would the block become invalid by the nodes?
 -snip-

Transaction is invalid, so the block will be invalid.

Sounds like a risk to miners. I believe there are not few miners that dont follow the latest updates so close that it could not be a problem.

Majority of miners need to use version that supports this opcode for acceptance and enforcement. If majority uses new version, obviously, others will (eventually) update their clients for incentive. CMIIW.

I use blockchain to create new address...and I did not see any private key with the new address. And if I can send money from new address in blockchain without private key it is great but I am afraid that when I use the new address to send money it is required to put private key again.

Blockchain.info is getting wierd and very buggy. I highly recommend you to start using desktop wallets(https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet) or if really want to use an online wallet, then use GreenAddress.
907  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Los Angeles police shoot unarmed man in head; and then handcuff him! on: July 01, 2015, 12:23:57 PM
US police killings headed for 1,100 this year, with black Americans twice as likely to die

Of the 547 people killed by police according to The Counted, 478 were shot and killed – and more than 20% were unarmed. (All figures in this video are as of 29 June 2015.)

Police in the United States are killing people at a rate that would result in 1,100 fatalities by the end of this year, according to a Guardian investigation, which recorded an average of three people killed per day during the first half of 2015.

The Counted, a project working to report and crowdsource names and a series of other data on every death caused by law enforcement in the US this year, found that 547 people had been killed by the end of June.

In total 478 of those people were shot and killed, while 31 died after being shocked by a Taser, 16 died after being struck by police vehicles, and 19 – including 25-year-old Freddie Gray in Baltimore – have died after altercations in police custody.

When adjusted to accurately reflect the US population, the totals indicate that black people are being killed by police at more than twice the rate of white and Hispanic/Latino people. Black people killed by police were also significantly more likely to have been unarmed.

Since the only TRUE Muslim is the one who obeys all the dictates of the Islamic basic holy writings, and since those writings include directives to kill and harm others at some times while to be peaceful at other times, she just might have been a TRUE Muslim. She probably attacked them in accordance with strict, Islamic violence directives, and they were simply defending themselves.

You can't believe the media and police and government reports, especially when they are made by weak Islamites who don't follow the violence directives of their holy writings.

Post your propaganda lies somewhere else, mate. Btw, you forgot to put "come to Christianity" line. Smiley It's not bad to ask people to follow Christianity but not by spreading lies. After all, lies are forbidden in your religion.
But not in yours, if they suit the purpose of the moment?

Even so, you won't get many converts saying "Read the Koran" but engaging in wholesale misrepresentation, ducking and dodging difficult issues, and sometimes using untruths for temporary advantage.

I have not done that. I don't think you will be convinced with my words though.

In addition, the Christian converts COME from people reading the Bible or hearing the Bible read. Why? Because it is not the words of mankind that God uses to convert people. It is His own words that He uses, the words of the Bible.

Smiley

Many Muslims do accept Islam after reading/listening Qur'an.

FYI: I do believe in old Bible which is not existing(?) now. These days, we can only get new Bible(aka Bible - edited-by-humans) and I do believe in Isa(Jesus) but as a prophet aka messenger of God, not God.

[ size=15pt]Christian woman sentenced to death for 'drinking from Muslim water cup' in Pakistan may not live to face execution after five years' imprisonment has left her with intestinal bleeding[/size]

[ img]https://i.imgur.com/YqpFUhz.png[/img]

A big lie. She was not sentenced to death or imprisoned for drinking from a Muslim's cup but for insulting prophet.

Clearly the Holy Qur’an does not even remotely hint at the death sentence for those blaspheming against it or Islam. Unfortunately, the behaviour of extremists groups claiming to be Muslims, and the introduction of so-called Shariah law in Muslim countries, has led the media to pointing fingers at the religion of Islam in general. However, neither those extremist groups nor those Muslim governments practise the true and real Islamic teachings. In Pakistan, for example, several sections of its Criminal Code comprise its blasphemy laws. Blasphemy merits the death penalty under Section 295C of the Pakistan Penal Code:

Use of derogatory remarks etc. in respect of the Holy Prophet[saw]: Whoever by words, either spoken or written, or by visible representation, or by any imputation, innuendo, or insinuation, directly or indirectly, defiles the sacred name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) shall be punished with death, or imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to fine.

6:108 - “Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides Allah, lest they out of spite revile Allah in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did.”

15:95 - “For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff”

33:48 - “And obey not (the behests) of the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and heed not their annoyances, but put thy Trust in Allah. For enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.”

4:140 - “Already has He sent you Word in the Book, that when ye hear the signs of Allah held in defiance and ridicule, ye are not to sit with them unless they turn to a different theme: if ye did, ye would be like them. For Allah will collect the hypocrites and those who defy faith - all in Hell”

I dn't know about cat steven but i just he is a singer so i dnt like him because singing is prohibited in Islam. Those who don't follow Islam, i dnt have any concern with them.
Ok May Allah increase your love with Cat stevens Tongue Cheesy

Singing is prohibited? Can you back that with scripture?

I threw Yusef Islam (Cat Stevens) in that list because I thought he'd be the LEAST controversial in this discussion, as he has been a man of peace for his entire life, long before his conversion to Islam. Yet of all the people I listed as potentially true muslims, he's the one you deny.

And frankly, it is anti human to prohibit singing. In my own case, ceasing to sing would be denying the very essence of who I am. I am and have been since my earliest days a singer. Anything that denied me that is, to me, anathema of the lowest sort.

So, since you obviously have read what I said, and the only man you deny is Muslim is the one man in my list who has spent his ENTIRE adult life as an advocate of peace, I have to assume that you DO consider the others to be Muslim. Which is prima facie evidence that your other claims are false.

Islam mainly prohibits music but it does not prohibit signing completely.

Widely agreed:

1. The kinds of singing which are unequivocally prohibited are those which contain the celebration of the material world and includes sexual connotation and that which is also inappropriate in speaking, e.g., swearing, sexually expletive language, and the like. In Fiqh this is usually referred to as Tarab.

2. The kinds of singing which are also unequivocally prohibited, are those that remove a person away from the worship and appropriate presence with Allah, e.g., leading a person to be involved with cross-gender mixing, lazing around (rather than taking a short break to relax from exhaustion. In such cases, as we will see below, there is permission to listen to musical matters that glorify Allah and praise the Prophet), ignoring one's rights and responsibilities, and the like.

3. Those kinds of singing which are unequivocally permitted are those which glorify Allah and praise the Prophet. Much can be said about this, but it will be a whole book! So in summary, this is usually taken to be permissible as a respite rather than the norm of "iPod in the ear 24/7". It is also permissible to have such appropriate singing of happiness (rather than directly about Allah and His Messenger) that soothe the heart in a Halal manner for festivals and weddings. These kinds of singing are usually referred to as inshad and sama'.

4. Those kinds of singing which are general, and are neither prohibited nor specifically about goodness and happiness (but may be e.g., about politics or environment, etc), the majority of Scholars hold that it is permissible only in its context rather than a habit to listen and enjoy. If it is habituated and leads an individual to ignore their rights and responsibilities, then it is not permitted.

About your "potentially true muslims": are you talking about the list of a few people which you posted when talking to GregH37? If you want, I can tell my opinion about 'em but the problem is some of the aspects of my opinion will be, like almost all, media-influenced -- which obviously is a mix of lie and truth.
915  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: June 30, 2015, 03:10:48 PM
So women are on an objective basis, unequal, but then one simply claims they are equal, and that the term equal means treatment as they get, and they are then equal.

That's called in an another world, lying?

    A) I am of the opinion that Islam does not deal with men and women in terms of equality because Islam is not a religion which advocates equality but justice and equity.
Equality means that all persons should be dealt with equally, irrespective of their needs, abilities, responsibilities, rights and strength or weakness. In other words, an Equality Bannered Society is one that places equal responsibilities on and gives equal privileges and authority to its members regardless of gender or any other kind of discrimination.
Justice means that a person should be dealt with on the basis of what he deserves. Simply put, a Justice Bannered Society is one that places responsibilities on and gives privileges and authority to its members according to their abilities and qualities and also keeping in perspective the specific characteristic of each gender.
Islam has based its teachings on the irrefutable basis that all human beings are not equal as far as their physical attributes are concerned, though they are equal in so far as they are humans in their individual capacity. Therefore, all humans are equal in the context of respect etc but they cannot be treated equal in the practical daily activities of life. Islam allows differentiation among individuals, but this is not based on the gender discrimination of the individuals rather their inherent abilities - inner potential. Islam wants to develop a sound social environment. It is possible only through strengthening the family set up i.e. the basic unit of society. Islam wants the family to become a well governed institution. Allah has created man and woman in such a way that they complement each other. In short, they are of the same genre yet are distinct from each other; they are two interconnected poles or two units of a pair, to be more precise.
Hence, the difference in their mental, physical and emotional qualities decides for them different spheres of activities in the family.
According to the Qur’an, a husband should be the head of the family. For this, it presents two arguments:
    i) Men have been given the responsibility of earning livelihood for the family i.e. to strive for the provision of the financial requirements of the family.
ii) Men are given more suitable mental, physical and emotional qualities for this purpose. On the other hand, women are given certain qualities that make them more suitable for responsibilities in other spheres. So, it is only in the particular relationship of husband and wife that Islam gives a degree of authority to man over woman. Beyond this sphere, both are considered equal. So, it would be wrong to say on this basis that Islam gives women lower status in the social set up as compared to men. In fact, Islam gives different rights and assigns different responsibilities to men and women according to their inherent abilities.
    B) Now, I come to the other part of my proposition i.e. ‘should a witness borne by a lady be considered half in comparison to that of man?’ My critique on this view is based on the views of Mr Javed Ahmad Ghamidi.
First of all, I want to clarify that there is no verse anywhere in the Qur’an, which directs a court of law to consider a woman’s witness to be half reliable as that of a man. As for the verse 282 of Al-Baqarah, which is presented to substantiate the viewpoint in question, it has quite a different meaning and implication than what is construed from it. The conclusion drawn from this verse is not more than a logical fallacy, in my humble opinion. For my thesis, a close analysis of the verse is submitted here.
The above quoted verse is presented by the proponents of this view. They stress that women are deficient in terms of intellect. This conclusion derived from this verse is absolutely erroneous. In fact the real context of the original verse itself does away with this misconception.
Actually this verse addresses the common man. It does not relate to the law and thus gives no directive regarding judicial matters. In other words, it does not call upon the state, the legislative council or the legal authorities. This verse just invokes the common man’s attention for taking precautionary measures in case of a particular situation of conflict. It is a piece of advice to a common man in a matter far beyond the jurisdiction of law and order unless conflicts somehow arise to make it a point of law; but this is entirely another scenario.

Choose a wallet from https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet. You can see comparison there.

I don't recommend paper wallet to you as you are newbie. Once you start familiarizing with Bitcoin address and transactions, we can talk more about paper wallets. Now, best thing for you is to use a normal wallet.

Appreciate the help thanks... Additional question - is it advised to create multiple wallets to help remain anonymous? (eg use wallets as throw-away wallets, used for a week then not touched again etc)

If you are really paranoid, you only have to make sure you are not sending funds from two or more addresses of yours in one transaction instead of creating multiple wallets because there is no wallets in Bitcoins.

Yes or no please.

Dusk and dawn are clearly distinguishable in the Arctic.

No ducking and dodging please.

You have two choices -

You would break Mohammed's rule.

Or you would obey his rule and starve.

I have clearly *separated* Arctic and countries where dawn and sunset are not clearly distinguishable.

Muslims in countries like Arctic and countries where dawn and dusk are not clearly distinguishable have to define the times of prayer in that land, basing those times on the closest country in which the night and day can be distinguished from one another and the times of the five daily prayers are known according to the signs described in sharee’ah, within each twenty-four hour period.

Similarly they also have to fast Ramadaan. They can set the time for their fast and determine the beginning and end of Ramadaan and the times of starting and breaking the fast each day by the dawn and sunset each day in the closest country in which night can be distinguished from day. The total period must add up to twenty-four hours, because of the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about the Dajjaal mentioned above, in which he told his companions how to determine the times of the five daily prayers. There is no difference in this regard between fasting and prayer.
