1541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for evidence to support theory of Gavin successor to Satoshi on: June 02, 2015, 11:11:19 AM
Everyone repeats over and over again Gavin would be the successor of Satoshi but is there actually any evidence for that?

Can someone please show where Satoshi determined goofy Gavin as his successor?
Thanks in advance for providing that evidence!
Why Satoshi need a successor?  Gavin is just a core developer and not a successor of Satosh.
Bitcoin is open source, any one can contribute it.

the only explanation is that gavin is actually saotshi, or he belongs to the groug called "satoshi nakamoto"

another is because Satoshi trusted only Gavin, and gave him the alert key because he was affected by a disease, and it was dying

Then if Gavin is really Satoshi he should stop fucking around and make it public, at least he would probably get more support than what he does get now.

If he is Satoshi and if he reveals himself, people may think this is his new plan to make people adopt 20 MB fork.

1543  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Probable Alts Of Mirjangka, Owner Of CloudThink.IO Scam (5 Alts Found Till Now) on: June 02, 2015, 11:01:01 AM
Without solid proof and facts and not alt accounts making claims if alts then theirs no scam. Until solid proof and evidence is posted then theirs not much to argue.

Seller confirmed he/she has sold accounts to mirjangka and QS also confirmed after looking PMs. Besides, both mirjangka and theymos confirmed they are alts of mirjangka. I don't think more proof is needed.

-snip-

Users from this thread or whatever posted a lot about me having more accounts and planning a huge scam. I confirm that I am using more than one account for this campaign and other business we are doing on this forum and I will post the full details about what accounts I use, who is also using them and what is their history if I really think there is no other way.
I really prefer not to do this at least for now as the hive mentality in many users will take this as as an opportunity to spam or hack or accounts for their own motives.

So thanks for the round 2 of negative feedbacks in my profile.

 -snip-

I have just joined the signature campaign of this so long as it pays am happy here.

Don't you feel bad to promote a ponzi?

I would like to know in regards to the the address you have on website 14 Lloyd St. I am local to the area and could maybe call down to the office if you have one their to meet up in person and have a formal chat about the business etc.

It's not about whether they are real or not. They are running a ponzi and it shouldn't be promoted. I hope you will remove their signature.

Sad to hear that JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Pakistan blamed women in jeans as the reason for 'Earthquakes'.

He also said that the military will now take 'action' against women who prefer western fashion.
Nobody gives a damn about JUI-F chief Fazlul Rahman - one of the most corrupt and hypocrite leader in world. Most Pakistanis hate him. He has a cult following in a few backward areas of militancy hit province KPK. We are looking forward to a progressive and peaceful Pakistan with equal rights for all citizens unlike so-called Secular India which hits news like people being declined jobs for being Muslims or not allowed to rent an apartment for being Muslim daily.

The lady who claimed to not get an apartment on rent lately in the news was a liar. People often claim this when the reason is either they disagree with the rent amount or don't want to pay the money. Yes, there are some buildings which don't allow Muslims to stay there because they fear any conflicts between Hindus and Muslims. That case is even in Pakistan where few Hindus were forced to leave the country and were harassed for year in that country.

Muslims get jobs everywhere and that claim is false that they don't get jobs. My boss is a Muslim in a Hindu company  Roll Eyes

I don't know why you dislike India so much but problems exist in every country and India is certainly not the worst country in this regard.

India does have vast discrimination.
1545  Other / Meta / Re: Amph, the useless user! on: June 02, 2015, 10:47:48 AM
Holy crap, he does have a lot of posts but if you reported most of them and he is not banned its because mods didnt think his posts were insubstantial and they probably arent if he is here after 13k posts.

After looking at your posts, you shouldnt be complaining about that when most of them are useless aswell.

i am not paid to post here this is the BIG difference.

Spam is spam no matter you are paid or not.

OP how many posts have you reported and what is your accuracy?
I'm in no position to judge, however I could objectively put some facts here.

- the user has made almost 30 posts already; judging from his posting activity per time, his timezone is close to that of the forum. 30 posts before noon.
- the posts are usually 2 or 3 liners

I'm going to let someone else be the judge of the quality though. However, keep in mind that this does not have to mean anything.

if i am not wrong [You have reported 20 posts with 100% accuracy]

- posting is done in short bursts of posts (they're within minutes of each other)

this is an important signal to determine if someone spam. also the other facts are important, 2 or 3 lines and the quantity of posts that he makes every holy day.

That 20 includes good, unhandled and bad reports. You can't tell all of your reports are handled and is good by looking at it.

He does reply to topics to get payment but most times, he is contributing to topics. Most of his posts aren't spam but quality is somewhat low because he is posting to get more money which obviously decreases quality of posts.

there is no quality in his posts. he is posting only to get btc from the signature campaign (bit-x) he is replying to every *** posts, with zero quality.

I wouldn't say all of his posts are zero quality but most of them are indeed low quality.

1548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to create/send a Tx from Brainwallet.org on: June 02, 2015, 10:09:44 AM
Nothing is wrong with the unspent outputs, to check that I just pushed the Transaction from electrum to another address and it went through instantly and I'll try again with one more address/private key, again containing few mBTCs (more than the previous one) and see if I am able to push it from that one.

Edit: I think I found the problem, I was trying to push the Tx to a multisig address and as soon as I entered a normal address, the Tx got signed and is now ready to be pushed. So I guess brainwallet cannot push transactions to multisig addresses.

Uh! BitcoinJ doesn't support sending to P2SH address.

I don't get it - brainwallet.org is written in Java (doesn't look like it from the repo)?

BitcoinJ is written in Java.

Also, BitcoinJ might have implemented some P2SH features: https://bitcoinj.github.io/working-with-contracts#p2sh-pay-to-script-hash

You can send *from* P2SH address but not *to* P2SH address AFAIK. Multisig implementation of Brainwallet.org is http://ms-brainwallet.org/ but not from same developer.
1549  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CloudMining.website | Starting from 1 GHs @ 0.0008 BTC | Since November 2014 on: June 02, 2015, 10:01:27 AM
Is 1N9unBxizvpmJf4t3L6x558dz5r1mxj1KS a known bitmixer address? No error means it is not an address under their control, instead it is most likely an address owned by cloudmining.website which they use to collect mixed funds. These funds are then deposited to their payout address to pay users.

If it does not belong to bitmixer, then it belongs to CMW !!! How did you derive this conclusion ? Rather, it is more likely that 1N9unBxizvpmJf4t3L6x558dz5r1mxj1KS belongs to the person/service who is buying the fresh coins from CMW. That person/service is mixing the payout and then paying to CMW from 1N9unBxizvpmJf4t3L6x558dz5r1mxj1KS. That seems more logical in my opinion.

Who said people are buying new;y minted coins from CMW? CMW obviously put that in FAQ so that people won't question them about minted coins. CMW is not mining...

1552  Economy / Services / Re: Need Activity Counter on: June 02, 2015, 09:38:53 AM
You can easily count it by checking how many post that account has made in 14 days period. You can find a list of dates of 14 days period here -- https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12saLhlUoqIdairxzuSPu6EYGrt7FN2lOstO1yDjCEbA.

If the no. of posts made in all 14 days period is less than 14 * 'no. of 14 days period account has made at least one post', then 14 * 'no. of 14 days period account has made at least one post' - current activity = potential activity. Potential activity can be claimed by just posting regardless of the time.

Example: UserA has made 10 posts in 10 14 days period, then it's current activity is 10 * 10 = 100 and potential activity is 14 * 10 - 100 = 140 - 100 = 40. You can claim this 40 potential activity by making 40 more posts.

P.S. Please lock this thread if you have got what you wanted. Lower left 'lock topic' button.

1555  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need help - Possible to recover my Bitcoin from wallet.dat? on: June 02, 2015, 09:09:41 AM
If you still have all your files and your computer is not comprimised then will you be safe.

Listen to me this is very important:

STAY CALM

Many people loose their bitcoin in the process of recovering them.
As long as you stay clam and think very carefully about what you are doing, then are you good.

Read and study very careful what to do, do not rush into anything.
Now is also a good time to take a full backup of your %appdata%.

Before you can have any help, then do you need to clarify the thing asked in the previous post.

And for the love of god, do not send you unecrypted wallet files to anybody, this place is crawling with scammers who would love to dine on your bitcoins.
Thanks for your helpful posts. Someone is helping me via PM I think but i'm gonna bet they want my wallet files.

Yes, my original post said my computer was wiped but it didn't go through for some reason.

All I have is the wallet.dat files.

Code:
If you have wallet.dat files, then download the bitcoin software from this link and install it.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/

If you don't want to download Gigabytes of the whole bitcoin blockchain, then run the wallet once after installing it, and close it right away.

Click the windows start button, and type this into the search box, and press the enter key

%appdata%

A folder should open, and you should be able to find a bitcoin folder inside it.

Open the bitcoin folder and replace the wallet.dat already in there with one of your wallet.dat files containing your bitcoins

Run the bitcoin software again, when it opens make a note of your bitcoin address in the receive window

Click help, then debug window, then click the console tab

At the bottom of the console window type

dumpprivkey followed by a space, then type your bitcoin address that you copied from the receive window

Press enter and copy the long string of letters and numbers shows in the console window (that's your private bitcoin key)

Install multibit, run it

Follow this tutorial to create a file needed to import your private key into multibit

https://www.multibit.org/v0.5/help_importASingleKey.html

Select tools from the menu at the top

Select "import private keys" from the "tools" drop down list, click the "import from" button, and select the file you created from the tutorial

Your bitcoins should show up in multibit after it has synced

You will need to repeat these steps for all your wallet.dat files.

Good post but you missed one thing, most important thing. "Multibit wallet.dat file is incompatible with Bitcoin core and vice versa". CMIIW. Smiley

@OP: Download Multibit and open that wallet.dat files from Multibit and see whether you can see the balance or not.
1556  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning about Carra23 - on: June 02, 2015, 07:52:31 AM
All address coming from same exchange doesn't make prove he is behind all these. However, this is very suspicious.

Another anonymous warrior. Well, I don't blame ya I suppose, that's fair enough.

I trust Carra though, I don't think he'd have any reason to have alts. He's a pretty stand-up guy and I'm fairly sure he gets a decent enough revenue from managing signature campaigns that he wouldn't want to risk that for...this...?

No offence to you but this kind of thing is not an excuse IMHO. Scammers* can easily exploit this. This is the same reason I saw in ndhnc's thread for giving him a benefit of doubt, in fact, telling it was framing. I still couldn't come to a conclusion about ndnhc but I maybe able to draw a conclusion if he can prove that address is from a shared wallet which he couldn't do so far.

* Not saying Carra and ndnhc are scammers.

The forum has enough finger pointing for this month. Give this a rest please. OP gives proof of a few forum accounts who uses cryptsy addresses. The link of these accounts to carra23 is weak. There must be many other members using exchange addresses for sig campaigns, then all of them must belong to carra23?
The link is in their email addresses. All of the emails match the handles of their bitcointalk.org accounts.

This is not a claim of a scam. It is merely a warning to others that Carra23 is not as anti-spam as he claims to be

I think theymos could help us to understand if the behaviour if carra23 and his signature farming if is true or not.
He can scan in deep the log of each account and let US know the truth.
I hope theymos read this thread and post some info

Having multiple accounts whether they're on the same campaign or not isn't against the forum rules though individual campaigns may disallow it, but that's up to the owners or the campaign managers to police not the staff or admins. Maybe they might get involved if there's some evidence or suspicion of wrongdoing/scamming but this doesn't really look like a scam accusation either.
I think this thread was in reputation before, I wonder why the OP moved it.

It doesn't look like any scam is even being accused in this thread. It does look like there may be some conflict of interest in his avatar campaign though.

I have asked this in Meta and one of the staff said 'Reputation' sub-board is commonly used for reputation threads that we can see currently but not for criticisms.

1558  Other / Bitcoin Wiki / Re: Proposal: ads on the wiki on: June 02, 2015, 07:22:39 AM
I have no problem seing ad on wiki.

Here's a rough idea of how the money might be fairly distributed: Every month, select (say) 50 edits at random from the last month. Have the wiki admins go through them and discard the ones that are bad. Replace removed edits with newly-selected random edits. Repeat until you have 50 good edits, then split the monthly profit evenly among those edits. Publish the discarded edits to demonstrate that there was no bias in the selection.

That incentivises people to make more edits, eg. useless ones, in order to make it into the 50 (or to totally encompass the 50, in an extreme case). OTOH, I've made a couple of edits in the past, and while it would be nice for me to be paid for the work of others, it doesn't strike me as something particularly fair. A means of qualitatively scoring edits would be more appropriate (but I don't know whether such an algoritm exists).

I agree with you. If the editors were choosen like admins choose staffs here, then theymos' idea is actually good but now, anybody can be editors and paying editors randomly is easily exploitable.

Forum ads are done using HTML+CSS, without images. This has various advantages […] But this creates a lot of extra work for everyone

If there are going to be two ads per page, one of them could be forum-like, while allowing images for the other one.

Above the title would at least be annoying IMO.

That's a quite personal matter IMO. I'd find the square one much more annoying than the properly called "banner" at the top. Maybe it's that, after roughly a couple of decades of banners, my brain is immunised against them Tongue.
1559  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Probable Alts Of Mirjangka, Owner Of CloudThink.IO Scam (5 Alts Found Till Now) on: June 01, 2015, 03:30:59 PM
Sadly, there hasn't been much activity over here. I am shocked that no one has left negative trusts on the accounts till now.

There is no enough proof to leave negative feedback.

Did you go through the whole thread? There are enough proofs in their now to prove that those are his alts. Along with that, even Theymos has agreed that they are his alts, what next? You want any other superpower over here to confirm that?
The seller confirmed that he sold the account to mirjangka. I dont see that you need any prove again . If you even check on the post history you can see that there is no trade that has been done with mirjangka but some user give him positive feedback, this must mean that he give his own account a positive trust

Negative feedback left to every account. I had to look a bit more. I wasn't convinced before to leave a *negative* feedback.
1560  Other / Meta / Re: unable to make self-moderated threads or create polls on: June 01, 2015, 03:19:21 PM
I was going to make a thread self-moderated, but I do not see that choice now in the 'additional options'

You can't create self-moderated thread in certain boards such as Meta, Auction and maybe Important Announcements.

I'd assume scam accusations as well?

Yes. Scam Accusations as well. I missed it. Thanks!
