Everyone has right to live his life by his own opinion.. opinion varies among people but this is not right you attack on someone's religion's or his believes...
So you have no problems with what ISIS is doing then? Their religious belief is to go round killing people.

If we followed your advice, we would not be allowed to criticise them.

ISIS and Atheists both like to kill people, cutting their throats or go to school and start shooting. Christians never do that. Based on empiric facts.

No Christians NEVER kill other people!!!!!  Except maybe the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition & Nazi concentration camps....Just off the top of my head....

And ISIS is a perversion of Islam.  It's political.

Some Atheists just don't believe in religion, but don't criticize others for believing, but then get tired of the believers who try to change them so much. I've seen that happen to a friend of mine multiple times.
that is the biggest problem with the pope's or other respected people in different religions .
they have no logical thinking nor much open mindedness but they try to fool others in all that bullshit ,they wont even care to listen your opinions which are against their principles.

Yes you are right.. Every type of person find in that world... Most of the  atheist criticize others for believing which is totally wrong... Everyone has right to live his life by his own opinion.. opinion varies among people but this is not right you attack on someone's religion's or his believes...

Who are you to decide if they were christians or not? They believed they were christians and people in those times believed they were christians. They didn't follow everything that is in the bible exactly? No one does. When was the last time you gave everything you have to a homeless person, if you are a christian? If they aren't christians as you say then 99% of the others who say they are, aren't either. The alternative is christians are just as violent as everyone else. Look at the missionaries in Africa and India today and all their crimes for example.

Precisely.

Religion divides people & facilitates war & strife.

Religion is used as an excuse to enslave others & invade countries.

It is used to control women & their bodies.

The Old Testament is over 5000 years old; the New Testament is over 2000 years old.

Religion is still barbaric.

Dark Ages are over.  Maybe that's why Atheists & Agnostics dislike religion.

The bible clearly tells us they're not Christians. I'm not the one deciding.

People from the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition and Naza concentration camps were not Christians. I'm not talking about luke warm Christians who for some reason still get married multiple times, I'm talking about people who terrorized and killed people.

1 John 4:20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

1 John 2:15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. (this includes the lust for murder and torture)

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

If they aren't loving their neighbors, they do not know God. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts. This is the perpetual lie that people like to spew about how bad Christians can be. But in reality those people are just a bunch of people who did not know God and loved this world, and the lust of the flesh.

You know what the Nazis were doing? Some scientists were doing experiments to figure out how to stay in the cold longer, to not die. That is the love of the flesh, the love of this life on earth. (http://remember.org/educate/medexp)

John 12:25 He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. 26 "If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

They loved their life so much they were willing to kill people and torture people to keep their lives on earth. This is the exact opposite of a Christian.

You don't even understand the idea of responsibility. And here's why.

Whatever free will decision you make, isn't really free will. Why not? Because there is something that prompted you to make the decision that you made. Even if it only was the bio-electric biochemicals in your brain that fired certain groups of synapses that made you decide everything that you decided in the way you decided it all, it wasn't free will. Neither you nor I nor anyone else have free will. We are prompted by cause and effect to make every seemingly free will decision that we make.

Since we don't have free will, how can we take responsibility for anything? Here's how.

God givers you free will in certain aspects of the faith you have in Him. That's right. Even though you claim you are an atheist, you still have faith in God. How do we know? Because you can't decide anything on your own... no free will. It all has to do with the way God takes the faith you have in Him, and manipulates the things of your life so that you think that you have free will. He does it with the hope that you will wake up to Him.

The only free will you have lies in aspects of the amount of faith you have in God. God directs all the rest. Therefore, you are responsible for kicking God out of your life, and for all the bad things that happen to you because of the way you handled that one decision that you CAN make.

When was the last time you gave everything you have to a homeless person, if you are a christian? If they aren't christians as you say then 99% of the others who say they are, aren't either.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

There is not one Jesus, Chopra writes, but three:
First, there is the historical Jesus, the man who lived more than two thousand years ago and whose teachings are the foundation of Christian theology and thought. Next, there is Jesus the Son of God, who has come to embody an institutional religion with specific dogma, a priesthood, and devout believers. And finally, there is the third Jesus, the cosmic Christ, the spiritual guide whose teaching embraces all humanity, not just the church built in his name. He speaks to the individual who wants to find God as a personal experience, to attain what some might call grace, or God-consciousness, or enlightenment.
When we take Jesus literally, we are faced with the impossible. How can we truly "love thy neighbor as thyself"? But when we see the exhortations of Jesus as invitations to join him on a higher spiritual plane, his words suddenly make sense.
Ultimately, Chopra argues, Christianity needs to overcome its tendency to be exclusionary and refocus on being a religion of personal insight and spiritual growth. In this way Jesus can be seen for the universal teacher he truly is--someone whose teachings of compassion, tolerance, and understanding can embrace and be embraced by all of us.
Jesus wanted his followers to evolve, to reach awareness of the Kingdom of God within. Although Jesus often sounds absolute, simplifying Karma into a matter of avoiding sin and obeying the law, the gospels still present a good deal of wisdom about how to live on the spiritual path.
His version of Karma can be summarized as follows:
Every action leads to a result.
Good actions have good results, bad actions bad results.
Every action is seen and weighed. Nothing can be hidden or kept secret.
If your actions are good, you will grow spiritually.
As you grow, your thoughts and wishes will manifest in the material world. Karma operates faster and more consciously.
God's intention is to make your actions turn out for the best. His ultimate concern is to bring you into the Kingdom, where the soul is freed from the law of Karma.

Everyone knows the Golden Rule, but this is a statement about Karma, not just about how to act morally toward other people.
Jesus implies something deeper, that when you follow the Golden Rule, you are acting as God does (Matthew 7:9-12). What makes it hard to treat others the way we want to be treated is that others may be the cause of misery, pain, and injustice. But Jesus points out that each of us is evil in his or her own way, in that we all commit wrongdoing, and yet God provides abundantly and with love. This is a compelling description of how someone acts in God-consciousness.

Dear you are wrong here, Religion not divide people it tell you how to live your life the difference is that some people follow right thing and some are following wrong...
You don't need some grubby old book or dubious religious cult to tell you how to live your life, why not just use your common sense?

I've relied on mine in life and it's fared me well enough so far.

Because the bible does more than tell us how to live our life on earth, it's about how to live on earth to get to live in a sinless peaceful eternity forever after we die.

In fact, the peace and power that we have to get out of sin is written about in the bible. Where most people are tied to their addictions here and now and don't know how to quit, the bible shows us a way to get over them through Jesus.

Because common sense is not in the book, there is fear of God, Wisdom, Respect and Science, but not common sense.

You are on a dead end "buddy".

Best regards.

I disagree: Bible told you how to live your life on Earth very clearly.

Lots of fatigue.

I disagree: Bible told you how to live your life on Earth very clearly.

Lots of fatigue.

Best regards.

I didn't say it doesn't.

Exactly! And the worst religion for doing all this stuff is, atheism.   Smiley

You are limiting yourself. Head on over to Mexico and you will find a whole lot more Jesuses.
