We might see a normal standing at pole again. People expected surprises in these conditions but familiar faces in Top 5 again in Q2.

Bad luck for Grosjean and Latifi at Q1.

Some cars still have intermediate tires, I don't understand this choice. They will be eliminated probably. Hoping to see faster times in Q3.

What a qualification with Stroll at pipe. Who expected that

Nobody, I think even stroll has ever thought about taking pole position today, but was amazin, watch mercedes struggle to qualify, this is formula 1 i would like to see.

What a crazy qualification. Rain played huge role to make it exciting and unpredictable. Stroll sometimes get a lot hate because father bought him seat in F1. But he isn't that bad. And it's not first time when he shows his skills in rainy conditions.
I'm a bit suprised that P3 is best qualifying result in Perez career. I remember he had several podium finnishes, so it's a bit strange that he never qualfied higher than P4.
Tomorrow rain is also expected, so we may see interesting and unpredictable race. But even without rain it would be interesting because track is very slippy and Mercedes haven't shown anything impressive so far in this track.

Just wondering..  Would you guys join a free to play F1 pool with real prizes in BTC if some sports betting site made it next year?  And how many of you would join?

Just a quick info to drop about the new circuit. They hired pro racers to make drifts for a couple of nights in order to set up and make visible the ideal trace and it worked until today when rain hit as harder we saw. Also , Kimi was asked if we ever saw worst condition to race in his career and he classy answer with "yes , this morning " , the dude is a legend!!

It's race day!

When we look at the weather today, there is no rain in Istanbul during race hours. We watched a fun pole position yesterday, today it looks like it will be a serious race. I think Istanbul Park should find its place in the organization, it will definitely be much better than Vietnam

What do you think Hamilton will do? If the ground is not wet, he can race very aggressively and Stroll can lose his place in a short time

It will be one of the most interesting starting ever.

They will start with a wet track, they will probably start without safety car so they will probably start with 2nd or even 3rd gear to get more grip, it will be awesome.

Hamilton champion!

It is so often rainy conditions that separate the good drivers from the greats. Hamilton laps his team-mate and is more than half a minute clear of second place, running on inters for most of the race, which he had effectively worn down to slicks. Plus he overruled his team on a late pitstop... which he was right to say he didn't need.

Compare with Verstappen - another good driver, but not (yet) quite in the same class, who spun a few times and did struggle a bit.

@Cnut237 today’s race shows exactly why Hamilton is the champion, and why Bottas has a long way to go before he can beat Hamilton to the title. @Real-Duke Hamilton never gave up on this race, and he held this belief that he would win, and in the end he won due to his hard work and his beliefs. Also it’s pertinent to note that according to stats Hamilton is now the best driver in F1.

Crazy race today at Turkey... But Hamilton have a good race and he is a deserved champion this year. So The decision in MotoGp today could also be in my favor. Suzuki have the last races a unbeliviebel race pace.

Crazy race, congratz to Hamilton but what a crazy race Leclerc from 2nd to 4th in the last corner.

Man if only the Ferrari could touch the engine this could be a fun year.

According to the sky moderators Toto Wolf has already anounced to stay for another year as Team Principal. So I'm sure Hamilton is going to do the same on his way to the 8th title.

What a race it was. And what a way to win championship for Hamilton. Until second wave of pit stops it looked like he have no chance to win. But great tyre management and he didn't neeed for 2nd pit stop. Same can be said about Perez.
While it seems that 2nd pit stop for Stroll was mistake. Even with new tyres he was losing positions.
I'm not a fan of Ferrari, but so happy for Seb. This season is so difficult for him, so this podium was really needed for him. Offcourse, last few corners were a bit crazy.
Verstappen spin on track, but despite it still managed to overtake Albon.
It's a bit sad that we don't have races in rainy conditions often.

They gambled a little bit about pit stop strategy but turned out good, if rain was started before 57th lap it wouldn't probably finish this far. Well deserved win and championship for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes though. He'll remember this track with good memories. Interview was so intense, he tried so hard not to cry.

Now he needs one more championship to be at the top alone.

It is already Hamilton,more race wins,more poles,more fiercing battles and overtaking.Congratulations to him for this big achievement and I am really sorry for Stroll today,both his and the team errors cost him a great race which he lead for more than half of the race.

I am wondering how many world titles Hamilton can still win. He is now 35 years, is still in top shape and still races in the best car. There is some young talent (Verstrappen, Stroll, Leclerc,..) but they are not at the same level as Hamilton. I think Hamilton can reach 10 world titles.

Honestly the rain wasn't as bad as people imagined it would be, they got rid of wet tires right away and went into it right away, it was like 10-15 and everyone moved to intermediate right away. After that and the grip came back to racers, it was nothing really that shocking and it became like expected.

However I feel like this race should be permanent, I think it was definitely enjoyable to watch for stretches, there were spins and even though it looks like nothing unexpected happened I think it was still same result but different path to reach there, even seeing Hamilton working to get to first place was something fun to watch instead of him being first and just lapping everyone around for the whole race with boring race, let him work for his spot like this and it becomes better even though same result.

This was a race only a champion can win.
He truly saw why he is a 7 times champion and he is on the same level as Schumacher now.
Really good performance by Ferrari as well, but it was Hamilton's day today!
