Definitely need manually creating stop-loss orders for the exchanges that support it natively. In this bear market I am doing more manual trading.

You can place a stop loss order with the margin maker already.

Defvader do you know of a simple method to detect the trend of a coin?
I am trying to learn to read MACD but everytime I think I got it right it doesnt go the way I thought it would. Smiley

There is no guaranteed way to detect trend.  As far as the bot goes I would like a feature added such as I described earlier. Essentially the bot would record x number of the last completed orders, lets say 300 for example, the number is set by the user. Then the user defines a trend number. Lets say 50 for example. So in this example the bot would compare the average price of the last 50 orders versus the average price of the last 300. If the aversge price of the last 50 is higher than the 300 then the price is trending up, and vice versa. Think of it as comparing two short moving averages to determine immediate trend. Its a simple, straightforward way to help the bot buy/sell at more profitable times.

As far as manual trading goes, look for confluence. Such as a MACD cross combined with a RSI rising above 30. You want a buy signal confirmed at least two indicators combined with a review of price action. Tons of great vids on YouTube about trading strategies and confluence.

Do you know how to read the sma lines?

I created a SMA yellow line for 100 candles and a red one for 50 candles.

What do they tell ya? I am seeing that it is in a upward trend although very slight incline but its going up and because the red line seems constantly parallel to the red line then the trend is to continue to go up?
Am I reading that right?

Both lines are trending up, yes. That the short term sma is above the long term means that the short term trend is up. The distance between the two lines indicates strength of the trend divergence. You may want to do some research on the MACD which is basically what you've done here. I would like to see a trend follower using sma like you have done here where the bit would compare short vs long term sms and if the short term trend is up the bot waits to sell until the trend reverses and conversely if the short term trend is down the bot will not buy until a trend reversal is indicated. Compine this simple trended with Market Maker and leonArdo would be a major force.

I like that idea but then I come across this scenario:

Suppposed I started the bot sometime after 7pm.
I dont really know what MCDA is telling me but SMA (the Blue and Red lines) are telling me that the trend is downwards and the split is increasing.
The EMA (Yellow and light blue lines) tell me its not a buy situation.

But lets suppose that I started the bot at the lowest at around 7:40 and caught a buy at 0.00472.

How would the bot behave if your strategy was implemented?

As it is right now the bot would sell at 0.0048 (1.10% profit) but the trend is going uwards but the short sma is still lower than the long sma although the distance is shrinking.
With your suggestion would the bot wait for the sell or would there be one at all? (The candlestick only turned red after the 5 green one just to give you an idea and the short and long sma were closer but still not intersecting and the price was at 0.00488)

OK

So, I'm new to leonardo, loving it.

Few issues though.

#1 Is I need more information on the Margin Maker bot. I've watched literally everything I could find on youtube, and other than explaining the basic premise of the bot they all fail to go into any detail of what the finer functions do and how to use them effectively.

#2 is I am currently linked to the Bittrex exchange and I am unable to find a straight btc/usd pair. Obviously this pair doesn't exist on Bittrex but I'm wondering if there is some way to have this display so I don't have to use webpages at all to monitor prices as I'm loving the GUI.

Other than that, super happy customer. Great work!

It's called BTC/USDT, you can find it under USDT market not BTC market. Just play with it with small amount first to learn the ropes, after you think your strat works great then change the amount.

Support from their team is also great, Jonathan is also extremely patient when I messed up the API keys.

Mmmm well no, actually, usdt and usd are not identical. There are differences. And really if you're trading against USD you really want BTC/USD charts.

And your next bit of advice really isn't that great either, sure I can play with it all I want. But I'd rather have an in depth explanation of each of the finer functions purpose and then how they can effectively be used. Trial and error will only get me so far.

Thanks anyway though.

With the type of trend watcher I'm describing the bot would have to be running long enough to have a proper sample size before the trend determiniation begins. For example if you set the bot to compare the last 50 sma vs the last 300 sma then the bot would have to be running long enough to have had 300 orders complete. After the 300 orders then the trend watcher would begin affecting the bot's buys/sells.

My UI keeps resetting to 12hrs, no volume, order book showing (instead of hidden) and left hand side all messed up. Basically it is reverting to a default UI. If I close and reopen this happens and it also happens at random intervals while using leonArdo, generally when hopping between different windows or minimizing and maximizing. I've been using leonArdo for a long time and never had the issue until lately. If any DPI changes happen this also occurs.

I have deleted the C:\users\username\leonardo folder multiple times, restarted etc... but it keeps happening. I've been on the latest version of leonardo and it only just recently started to happen. I even uninstalled, downloaded a new build and reinstalled and still have the same issue.

Where are the interface settings stored? I tried changing settings and UI layout while monitoring with Procmon and this is the sort of output I get (excluding SUCCESS events) but not seeing any sort of file that might be for UI unless it's in the state db - I need to find out if something on my end is overwriting or reverting it.

https://imgur.com/MyBpuk3

In addition, I just changed the theme from dark to light, sized all of my interface objects, set candles to 3day, then minimized restored the window and same issue - it kept the light theme but reverted all of my UI size changes. When minimizing, nothing happens in Procmon but when I restore the window I get 24 entries of "state.db-shm" being accessed as my changes are reverted.

I think it's the weekend in Germany right now. I'm sure they will do new builds over the weekend but probably not all day like on week days.

Somehow we missed you in all the new customers we are dealing with. Sorry about that.

Can you send me your email address via pm? Or write a mail to support@marginsoftware.de and we'll get you up and running.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

PS It could also be the case that we sent a mail with your copy details and it ended up in your spam folder. That happened a bit lately...
