well, fuck my life... 5$? really? I basically lost 150$ right now ,because I sold a few hours too early?

This is what I hate about BTC Sad Someone decides to buy alot and voila, his BTC is already worth over 50% more

My post is looking rather prescient right now. I'd hate to try and trade this market.

Only if you continue to measure things in depreciating fiat currencies .... measured in BTC he has no more or less .... see?

Lesson one, don't sell your BTC unless you are starving, cold or need sex.

It's easy - you buy as soon as hear about bitcoins as much as you can and never sell Smiley

If it makes you feel any better we're probably heading for a substantial drop in the near future.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

I haven't read one post of a person that bought and a week later regretted the decision. Selling, on the other hand...

a lot of people who bought at the 1$ ~ 1.10$ high regretted it until the sudden jump to 3$

Yeah, don't worry about it... if you think it'll get to $20 this year like I do, you'd still do well buying at $5.

Um, how the heck are we supposed to chart this thing when one guy with a fat wallet can wreak havoc on the price?  We need more people trading to level out the influence and psychological factors.

Is there any way to estimate the 'Bitcoin population' meaning the number of people using Bitcoin? Perhaps a char t of the number of people running the Bitcoin client or the number of addresses holding >5 BTC ? I understand this information would not be perfect but I wonder if spikes in the Bitcoin population would be a good leading indicator of rallies.

Do not waste your time debating whether Bitcoin can work. It does work.

"Early adopters will profit" is not a sufficient condition to classify something as a pyramid or Ponzi scheme. If it was, Apple and Microsoft stock are Ponzi schemes.

There is no such thing as "market manipulation." There is only buying and selling.

It will happen with time. Then again maybe it won't. Smiley

Maybe once GLBSE matures and they offer option contracts.

Corollary to that is that the BTC value is too low if one fat wallet can move it around so much ....

The number of bitcoins is not to going to change hugely (well not anytime soon) .... so only thing that can change to smooth out 'fat-wallet' fluctuations is the value .... upwards, get it?

I am not sure what type of donations he is getting; but I would very willingly pay a privilege (1-3 btc a month?) for more frequent updates that were private to his subscribers.

His current donation address seems to have received 329 BTC (over all time).
