I think everybody has to start somewhere. There are always issues what you can't see in the future.
They made a good product, they hadn't stole our money, they had shipped close to time.
Show me an asic company how made the same.....
Of course they learned a lot and won't make the same issues at gen 2.
That my 2 c.
I assume you have received your miner? Yes I have. And you will. Not like Avalon or Bfl.....

After tinkering with enabled cores in 0.95, then upgrading to 0.96 and then today to 0.97, my Saturn is currently outputting ~278Gh/s with all 100% of my cores enabled. My WU went up to just over 4,000/m and my flushwork issue has gotten much better.

KnC 0: | 263.0G/258.5Gh/s | A:643328 R:17152 HW:190848 WU:4047.9 is something wrong here? did you try 0.95 and 0.97? if it happen in all FW, you might need to give your miner more airflow thanks for the input, but unlikely as both chips are well below 50c. I don't know diddly, but I think its a software issue, hoping SOMEONE puts up an easy plain English for dummies on how to install and run BFGMINER.....

Hey - I apologize profusely ... I imagine this HAS been answered before.
I was away for a week, just got back - and found my Jupiter waiting for me.
The problem is, can't get the thing to boot.
Have an XFX pro 1050W modular to run it.
Everything looks connected fine ... pci-e's are solid and the molex is in. Paper clip tricked it on pins 4-5, 4-6, 4-whatever the one that's a row down and over is .... all with the same results .... PS fan and the jupiter fans spin for a sec, then nothing.
Not getting any lights, or anything else. That's it.
Now I'm wondering if I have a dead supply out of the box, which seems unlikely .... or if I'm simply fucking something up .... which sounds much more likely.
Can you help a (very excited) brother out?
Thanks very much. John
[EDIT] I AM trying to catch up ... but I'm still about hundred pages behind.

278ghs is nice for saturn, two of my Jupiter WU get very close to 8k but they cant made it :-(

I had this exact issue when I first got mine. The issue is fixed by upgrading the firmware (which for me was stock to .95, but I'm sure going right to .97 will work too). The challenge was getting into the web interface and then uploading/installing the firmware all before the unit shut off. How long does it typically stay on before it powers down again? I usually had about 60 seconds or so.

Roughly one second.
I'm talking 1-3 revolutions of the fan. It's on, then it's instantly off.
It's not even getting to boot, so can't see it being firmware.
This seems squarely a hardware / me screwing it up somehow-ware issue.

Yeah yeah, it's totally green to black.
And yeah, I hear you on the fan not necessarily being indicative. However, the lack of movement on the fans of the Jupiter would be - as I indicated.
Anyway, bummer.
Dead PSU out of the box sure seems unlikely. Oh well

1. Disconnect PS from the miner. 2. Make sure the paperclip (bare metal, not painted) is stuck between green & black wires. 3. Turn on PS. A. If it turns on & fan spins, go to 4. B. If it doesn't, doublecheck the paperclip. If nothing -> dead PS 4. Shut off PS, wait 30 secs, plug PS into *one board* of the the miner, try again. A. If OK, repeat 4 with next board. B. If not, unplug board & try next one. 5. Post on how it goes. & will talk you through from there

Hey,
Thanks for the tip.
Repeat of the same.
On just the PS with the mb cable jumped - I get 1-4 revs of the PS fan, then nothing. It's like something clicks off in the PS as soon as it ramps up.
On the PS with one board attached - I get 1-4 revs of the PS fan, the board fan, and the two case fans, then nothing. Same kind of behaviour, almost like something clicks inside the PS as soon as it begins to ramp up.
Repeat for all boards.

my vote is that the paper clip's in the wrong spot. Wrong cable maybe? How about a pic?

He said the fans spin up, then go back off. If the paper clip was in the wrong place, the fans would not spin at all, as the power supply would be off.

I've seen power supplies that behave exactly as he describes when powered up while attached to nothing. The fans on the miner require power to spin. If the power supply is off, i.e., the paper clip is in the wrong place, those fans have no power available to spin them. Maybe you mean you saw a power supply spin it's OWN fan and shut down? That would be different, and certainly possible - but that is not the scenario the poster described.

It's the PS. Unplug everything, If it's a modular PS, unplug all the cables but the MB/24 pin cable. 1. Turn on the PS and try sticking in the paper clip again between the green and one of the black wires. As you stick it in, wiggle it -- see if the PS fan goes on. I'll be refreshing the page
