Jupiter FW 0.99

Power at Wall Down from 748W to 746W

You're hitting 750w?  Bizarre, I'm @ 690w with 98.1

You probably have a more efficient power supply.

My el cheapo 12v switching supply is reading 184 watts at the wall while bertmod says 133watts.  If we ignore the BBB, I suspect bertmod does, the efficiency is 72.3%.  If I scale up for a Jupiter it's 736 watts at the wall.

Could also be 240VAC.  It tends to be ~2% more efficient.  Would be nice when people post at the wall wattage to post the PSU and Voltage (i.e. 700W X-1250 @ 120VAC).

8 boards hashing at 833GH/s with 0.99 + 2 boards hashing at 211GH/s with 0.98
2x V850 @ 240V = 1270W at the wall.

Bear in mind that bertmod is reporting the DCDC output power.

Measuring power "at the wall" will add in the overhead of the ATX power supply, and the overhead of the DCDC converters themselves.

Also the BBB, the control board, and all the fans are not included in bertmod's reported power.

Mercury, 184 watts at the wall 120VAC, 133 watts bertmod, supply: CH Switching Power Model LIHUA-360W DC OUTPUT 12V 30A (typically used for driving LED signs) plus a BBB wall wart, both to a power strip plugged into the Kill-a-Watt.  (note: supply fan not tolerating temperature change, noisy when cold startup, bearings wearing quickly)

I confirm BertMod ignores the BBB and also that the readings from the DC/DCs might be a few percent off (I'm not sure if the readings are temperature compensated, and the DC/DCs usually run quite hot, so there might be some error induced by that)

72% efficiency for a cheap power supply sounds totally possible.

I notice my temps are green, 37.5°C while others' are red.  My ambient is 66°F.  I built a wind tunnel and put cardboard inserts between the VRMs and the ASIC.  Don't know where on the module the temp sensor is.

Mixing imperial and metric measurements is confusing and just complicates things.

I highly recommend this http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/xfx/p1-1250-befx/

I have one for a LTC rig,  it's the best PSU I ever had, been running for 5 months solid without stopping, only a few reboots for windows updates.

It's just a re-badged seasonic

Didn't mixing the two standards mess a NASA mission up once because someone rounded up/down instead of using a true ratio in their formula?

So that's ~1.3W/GH. A damn good 20% improvement from their estimates of 1.6W/GH. Not so good as 1W/GH, but i'm satisfied. WRU tard Avenger to throw shit at KNC? 50%+ more hashpower and 20% less consumption. Show me another ASIC manufacturer that can beat that! (i'm not expecting an answer because you retard don't have one)

Planning on getting an EVGA 1300W for November Jupiter!

Serious, if KNC was passionate about the products they make and really cared for them, they would have never shipped them with thin paperboard and no internal packing. This kind of proves they care less about their product and are soley in it for financial reward. I would rather invest my money with a company that cares about their own products.

And with UPS. You can pack whatever you want into a box. Guys, do you realize how small and light these boxes are going to be? A computer board that weighs the same as a pack of bubble bum and the size of playing cards. A couple cables. All less then 16OZ in a tiny little box. It will be like getting an Intel Processor box. That small. Trust me, UPS said no such thing about having one in each box. This is the last time I'll be investing with this company. They move to slow, have a horrible presence in the community (if any at all) and once they have your money start to treat  you a little different. They'll eventually ruin everything for themselves. People don't forget. I'll never forget  I had to pay $205 to ship 16ounzes to the Eastern US with a weeks delay first. That sticks in me like a hot knife.

Wow, you really feel that way?
Seems pretty trivial to me, and other than Arctic I30's snap-on fan design(no fault of KNC's really)  The inits held up astoundingly well, even one that was totally destroyed by DHL, and filled with water ended up working. It was also posted in here that the boards are all pre-packaged individually, and when checked with UPS rates in sweden, was right on price...you must have missed it....

So you are ok with how they packed a $6000 miner? I've seen better packaging for socks.
