What happened with 3.8.2 on FW 0.99 Are you running it from root or did you copy it over to the /usr/bin directory?

He's right! The philosophical discussions really should go elsewhere folks, Occasional comments don't bother me -- but long discourses on FOS economic theory really do belong elsewhere. Bitcoin is swinging between $502 USD and $900 averaging over $700 Maybe we can make some money... Sorry. Speaking of Bitcoin and banks, since the FINCEN rule sez miners must get federal approval and licensing on the order of a Western Union rather than something like a mom and pop bodega (that can use WU to send money to lands south of here), but that stock brokers can still buy and sell Bitcoin, it looks like a setup - bank shills buying and selling Bitcoin then dumping to cause a crash like earlier this year. Shills get out making big bucks, gov follows up with laws making Bitcoin trading/selling a crime in this country. Bitcoin gets dealt a near fatal blow, those shills that don't get out get burned but then they'd be victims of their own stupidity. Going for a run. I'll be healthier afterwards. Glowing without a pissed off bone in my body.

I hope it will crash... I'd like to buy. I was going to buy at Coinbase today but my account got frozen because their authentication vendor (Authy) couldn't handle the load and now hundreds of Coinbase customers are locked out of their accounts.

Welp, now my upgrade board is due on the 21st rather than today. Kinda pissed considering how much it cost to ship. It was as much as my Mercury and it got here in a single day. Technical difficulties will be technical difficulties I suppose....

How will the "asia" snatch coins from my cold wallet exactly? Where did I state that they will steal someones coins? If you read through some of the news and facts regarding asian bitcoin hypes you would see that China is always open to digital currencies, the last bein QQ with about 13% of Chinas fiat intertwined before it got shut down. Now imagine it not being shut down and being bitcoin. And that is only China. Asia is one of the fastest markets worldwide, hypes get created there no one here hears about before they are nearly over; bitcoin is exactly their thing and you can be sure that there are more people who know about bitcoin and want some than in the rest of the world combined. (not really that hard with that amount of population...)

As long as they ship by the middle-end of Dec, they are fine, considering how good the new devices are going to be.

Given the difficulty in moving fiat in and out of China it may be very likely that China simply has a higher exchange rate and doesn't experience a massive inflow of coins. If you wanted to sell your mined coins for Yuan (and thus increase the share of Bitcoins owned by China) how would you?

And neither should you. They can easily buy btc and sell them at gox or at any other exchange and wait until the crash comes. It's only hard to get fiat in and out... Granted, at the moment the Chinese exchange is pretty much over the top in regards to $ at gox but hey, if btc rises to 1,5k$ those few 100 bucks won't hinder anyone there to sell and wait.

edited inage out What happened with 3.8.2 on FW 0.99
That's a pretty vague question...? You are running either/or, but not both.... except the gui.... You must not misunderstand what the issue is if you are running the gui... ? using the status page on the GUI is CAUSING the leak. Keep using it, and your speeds will keep dwindling down until the issue is resolved... Flash whatever you are going to use, and simply stay off the GUI after hitting reboot.... close that page, and do not go back, and the leak never starts. The moment you load the status page on the GUI, you have negated the workaround, and should reboot. unless you are helping ckilovas beta test... you might want to do that.

Dave, looking at the Bitcoin fluctuations you want to "make some money". I think it would be obvious that Bitcoin hitting $900 then dropping to a low of $555 the night before Senate hearings is a banking industry pump and dump specifically to cause the kind of instability you now want to exploit. What Bitcoin needs in the face of this attack is stability not the ripping off recent buyers.

How will the "asia" snatch coins from my cold wallet exactly? There is money out there with a desire to buy Bitcoins. They have enough capital to wait for a low.

Dude I've been on this forum nearly three years now and have never used the ignore button on anyone yet. But you are getting very close and soon your ignore button will start to glow the more ignores you get. Then new forums members will see you as a troll and and click the ignore button quicker. Go and join an IIRC room or something. Unless you are purposely trying to derail interest in this thread of course!
