Do you feel shameful for being a gambler?

I will not share my gambling activities with anyone, and I don't like to share this with others. But some of my friends know, but they also play so I don't mind if I play with them. If I lost my bet, i really feel so bad. I do online gambling, so this helps me to hide my gambling activity.

Same here...I try to hide my daily habit even from my family members. I will be ashamed if one or more people in my real life knew my gambling activity. So far, everything works as expected and hopefuly will stay longer. Gambling is a bad thing here in my neighborhood.

That is bad thing i guess. If they caught you gambling it will be a bigger punishment for you. Maybe it is time to tell them the truth.
Though it is not that bad if you are not addicted to it, if it is just a hobby of yours it is not really that bad. Hobby is not to be ashamed of.
I do hide my gambling when i was a kid because it is a bad thing in our place too but i did stop gambling when i was introduced to online gambling. Online gambling or casino was not a bad thing, in real life gambling yes it is a bad thing, but online gambling is not.

yes in some religions playing gaming is a sin and therefore in these countries gambling is forbeden and if a person is catch red handed while playing gambling then he will be put in prison and will be punish for that activity.

Really not, When you loved gambling all thing in gambling you are going to accept that because gambling brings you or gave you money dpends on your skills and depends on how you are going to control your self , You can fulfill your enjoyment , Gambling are design to lose but if you are going to push it on your hard work playing maybe in the end you will see the result.

I agree. It's a matter of patience we should not give up. Gamble what we can lose, not we can't lose. Although it has a less probability of winning, there is still percentage of chance of winning which is very important. Gamble can change our life. It can gives us instant money if we aren't greedy. If we are greedy, nothing will happen to us but lose.

I saw a lot of people just like you, want to make money from gambling, want to change lives, but the result is that they bankruptcy, they deceive and injure their families. I have not really thought of it has shame has I have not done anything wrong or owe somebody some cash , so there is no reason for me to be shameful about gambling or being a punter.

Society is another factor, when you live in a place that's full of people that has a very bad way of thinking with gambling. That can affect you, your family and friends because we know that when a crowd shouts 'shame to you, gambler' that will make you feel that you don't belong to them and that's force shame.

If that is how they see it, then in the first place you would not be influence and will learn gambling. I don't know if there are really a community that hates gambling because for me it is just s pure game and entertainment. People can play if they want and they are not force to spend their hard earn money.

If you are living in a religious place or you are part of religious family then they hate gambling. Admit it or not there are places are like this and they are making fun for those people who are into gambling. Instead of helping those type of people, they are putting them down with their ego's and that's making them more shameful to gamble.

Maybe gambling is considered a sin that is why they have that reaction every time they caught someone gambling, if I live with that pace, maybe I would have not known gambling in the first place. Fortunately, I live in a country where we have democracy, we are free to do whatever we want and gambling is just considered as an entertainment and the government has no negative actions as long as they have their fair share.

I agree but I don't think anywhere in the world government is the one who has problem with gambling , mostly the reason for this is they can collect huge amount of tax and fees from them.
The main problem is the society they don't like gamblers because they think it's illegal , bad etc but they don't have any sort of problem from the owners of the casinos as they know they are money man and they can use them whenever they want for monry. That's the sad part this is how are world like this nowadays.

there are some people who are ashamed of being a gambler, and there are some people who are not ashamed to be a gambler. Well, gambling is a choice each person. so when you gamble, you're ready to accept the risks that will happen, even when you were humiliated. but, if it's your hobby, I guess, it's not embarrassing, because you only have to change.

Well not really since I just do it for fun and very casually, usually to meet with friends in Las Vegas city and have some real life fun. I never gamble online because its too addictive and its very easy to empty your bank account gambling like an idiot, and now with bitcoin its even easier to get your wallet emptied due bad emotions. Its best to control your urge to gamble and only do it in real life a couple times a year and bet big for fun.

Going to LV to gamble is great, of course, but mostly people are not likely to spend money both on gambling and on the road. So, you say you gamble for fun? And you really don't think about winning money and are fine with spending lots on casino when you could've spent it on kid's education, nice house, charity or other stuff?

Well i think what can determine if we have to be ashamed of ourselves when we gamble is what we do when we lose or sometimes when we win. I agree that as long as you don't affect other people, like borrowing money, or selling other people's things or the important responsibilities that you have are not compromised, then there's nothing to be ashamed of as it is our lives anyways. Then there are also people who become too full of themselves when they win and tend to look down on others. I think these people should be more ashamed of themselves than anyone.

No one should be ashamed of what they are doing, if you are gambling with your own money then there is nothing to be ashamed of . The only thing that you should be ashamed of is that when you ruin yourself because that you are over gambling of what you are not supposed to gamble and it ruin yourself

Why would I be ashamed of? I'm not using anyone's money to gamble. And I only gamble when I have extra money in my pocket to play with. And besides I have other priorities in life and I don't gamble a lot.  I just gamble if I have the money and time, so I either to go online to play my favorite dice game or go to a casino nearest my place. If I won then good, if not, then its ok I well because its just my past time.

That is because the people do not know how to control themselves and limit the number of games in gambling. As a experienced gambler, I can control my temper and understand how gambler feel when they are in the losing streak, which makes them want to play more and more in order to recover the losing money. You can not blame gambling for that. It is good, if you know how to play it in an appropriate way
