My 7870 OC edition runs stable on 1250... With air temperature at 26 Celsius... Not even fan on full blast... Temp sub 70... But it is not in a closed computer...

I think one of my 7950's is a bit weak I can only reliably keep them all at 1050.  These weren't the best cards just xfx "double d" base models.  They are located in a basement that's around 60f and not in a case still hitting 75c on the top card then a couple degrees lower for the cards.

Did you replace the paste between the GPU and cooler? I'm using Arctic silver...

Usually see 7870 mem clocks between 4500-4900 for gaming rig, but LTC mining doesn't need very high memory speeds, so setting them low helps the card run cooler, even if the gpu is oc'd.

To all those who pointed out my guiminer problem was because I had all three miners pointed at the same gpu, you were right - I was
smart enough to set the GTX 480's up correctly but forgot to check the same when I cloned 2nd & 3rd gpu from my first 7870 miner.

guiminer connects to stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 ok, and all three are putting out 360+ MH/s.

I'm happy that you're getting 360+ MH/s on your Asus HD7870DC2-2GD5-V2 gpus.  The Fedex dude was just here a couple of hours ago to deliver two of exactly the same cards that you have to replace a couple of mining-challenged Nvidia GPUs on an old gaming rig.  I have come to the conclusion that generally, AMD cards that are moderately OC'd, usually hashes around 26% of the number of stream processors.  So I figured that I would be getting around 265 MH/s (26% of 1024 stream processors) out of each of these cards.  At what clock are you getting 360+ MH/s with, may I ask?

7850 - I got about 330MH/s - 1200Mhz
7870 - 430-450MH/s - 1215Mhz
7950 - 540MH/s - 1150Mhz
7950 - 520MH/s - 1100Mhz

That's what I've been getting returned the 7850 now running two 7870, two 7950.

FWIW: I am running a 7870 and a 7970 in the same PC. They are running from guiminer with just -v -f0 and -w 128 or 256 flags, but I set the clock performance from Catalyst Control Centre.

7870 is giving 430MHash/s at 1170/1200 engine/mem, with fan set to 60% and power -5%. At engine 1200 it crashes fairly quickly.  Runs at 66C, VRM1 at 71C

7970 is giving 645MHash/s at 1125/1000, 60% fan, -5% power. Runs at 67C, with VRM1 at 88C

One side is off the computer, the PSU is sitting on top, and it's in the cellar where it's nice and cool. Plus we're about 700ft/210m above sea-level, in a rural so that's generally less warm all round!!!!

I have a couple of XFX 7950DD rev3, one will do 1100MHz with no monitor and the other 1025MHz @ 1.030V (default), but monitor drops that by about 70MHz, the rev5  I have will do 1200MHz all day long @1.250V (default) but drinks the juice, mostly run them @ 700MHz where the voltage drops to 0.95, the rev5 (asic 66%) system, 2 cards pulls 250W, the rev3's (asic 87%) x2 pull 330W at 700Mhz.

I'm not going to void my 1 day old cards for a possible decrease in temps yet they all have little void stickers on the screws.  I have as5 sitting here waiting for when I get brave.

interesting you post that cause thats about what i get on my 7970 at stock clock

about 530-550mh/s
and 26% of 2048 is 536.48 so its workable thanks

phoenix2 with phatk2 (modified) seems to be the fastest miner I've found.  cgminer has some cool bells and whistles.  but I just want it to mine, and if it isn't mining, it's trying as hard as possible to mine.

No problem.  I was just being conservative with the arbitrary 26%.  I figured that it's better to aim low and get a pleasant surprise in the end.

well conservitive it may be but with amd cards doubling in cores we can extrapolate est hash rate

so a 7990 should be 1gh/s or ther abouts if someone can confirm that it would be cool.
wether this is relevent with all the tweaks and such people do is besides the point
its data and hence good.

Very stable and its *usually* hot here - may have to drop clocks further into summer especially the ones at the office over the weekend when they turn AC off and it hits 100F+ outside.
