Yep.

Anyone else noticing very inconsistent rewards? I'm trying to tell if its my new miners or the pool.

From the past few blocks its varying as much as 20%

notice the time differences in those? the way it was explained to me is basically you didn't have enough time for your miners to get the average amount of shares you normally would have on blocks that take a bit longer

Lot's of theories floating around these days about the pool.

One fact is that the old timers (well if 6 months mining is an old timer) are lying low and by looks of the cluster performance the preponderance of evidence says those big rigs the "old timers" have are staying connected to the pool. Now if I were a betting man I'd put my money on the old timers knowing that things are ok in a general sense and problems will sort themselves out in time.

To look to the pool as the major fault when you still have training wheels on your rig is probably looking in the wrong place.

The "old timers" used GPUs , all this is brand new. Huge ASICs, massive difficulty, all new, always will be now. Work with evidence and facts not with mystical witchdoctor of bitcoin mining theories. I could spend all night quoting really fucking stupid things that "old timers" have said about mining and bitcoin, but an obvious one was the recent poll where the majority on this forum thought that XBT would hit 5k by the end of 2014, or Google / Paypal / Apple adopting bitcoin...none of which look likely now if you go on actual evidence.

Here's some more "old timers" predictions involving tech. http://www.techhive.com/article/155984/worst_tech_predictions.html Fuck old timers, use your logic. Wink

Assuming that you had steady mining at your side (ruling out the peculiar time effects of Slush's unique exponential 'anti-hopping' algorithm), you are at the mercy of fluctuations in the total pool behavior.   Looking at your results, without doing any calculations, they seem fine.
You can calculate your share as a proportion of the total shares (deducting the 2% pool fee)
For block 21711  25.09469911*46065/186595076*(1-0.02)=0.006071262  your actual reward was 0.00587115, which is quite close.  Note that the pool total share does not include the 'score' which has some time domain effects due to Slush's exponential thing.  You may repeat this calculation for your other blocks, but I don't think that you'll find anything alarming there either.

Just noticed a dip in my Estimated reward on the Account page, it dropped to something like 0.0056 of the calculated reward based on my hash rate (no problems at my end with either mining rigs or internet connectivity).  This looks like another 'hiccup' at the pool end, similar to what we had recently causing incorrect reward calculations that took a while to be 'readjusted'.

Cheers

I'd probably have slightly less rejected shares if I moved my various miners onto the same router as my proxy but I'm not putting all the whirring S#$t that runs the backend squarely into the middle of the man cave for a few bucks lost profit. I see some stale shares but the rejects aren't a high enough percentage to alarm me and I'm not convinced that extra hop in the house makes a significant impact.

You hit the nail on the head.. Slushes over sensitive pool hopping algorithm it taking its toll on slow miners "and even some big ones" .. I've tested it and compared it to other pools and have to admit it IS in my opinion WAY over sensitive... For this reason I think it tends to drive away more than just pool hoppers.. I really noticed it when my stratum proxy would flake out every now and then .. That's one of the things that prompted me to test with other pools..

If you have any moderate amount of hashing speed, then the exponential algorithm doesn't play that large a factor. .  if the hashing speed isn't able to make a difference that offsets the normal number of shares that you would hash - then it will make a difference.  I don't pool hop, but my payouts the last 20 rounds are all within about 8% of each other.

My stats are for a 200 GH/s miner that is connected via wired ethernet. They varied up to 23% so I'm not sure whats thats all about. I will have 400 GH/s up tomorrow, and 600 GH/s by next week.

What do you consider moderate?

You get the chance to roll again - not being smug or anything but 800TH max - no fancy calculations or theories - you just have to have been here a little  - now to find the low point - my moneys on 740TH - just a guess -y'all have a great day mining
I shall now predict the next lottery result and the date of the second coming.
What about 'next round in 3h 15min prediction' Tongue

EDIT: Folowed by sub 1h round
Close - 3h 23min
Any takers for the next one?
And a 36min one ... what did I won?

I ran 2 antminer s1 2 x 200 GH/s allready AVG 1.8 BTC monthly, i plan to connect another one after one month... i hope the rate will fix till few weeks ... 568 dollar really low :-( compare few month past...
and unlucky crazy 12 hours 1 block but now slush looks good

I would say when you get to 400 would be about where moderate is these days to smooth out the amount of shares that you'll receive..    I'm at 1.4 I think in slush's pool and my rewards are all fairly consisten in that they have not gone out over 8% in any given round in the last 10 to 20 rounds.  They have edged up a bit in the last week when we lost alot of hashing power in the pool and started to edge back down as we are climbing back over 800, but other than that, fairly consistent.

As Long a we don't go too far over the 800TH we should be fine -
All eat garlic and blow the Hoppers away...
I really should have listened at school so I could come up with a fancy calculation but hey I didn't and I'm still right
I could become quite insufferable if I'm not careful...

by your reward per block I would say u r around 180gh/s but .0069x would be high for that so maybe 200gh/s with the .0053x u have 25minutes of bad luck

by your reward per block I would say u r around 180gh/s but .0069x would be high for that so maybe 200gh/s with the .0053x u have 25minutes of bad luck

190Gh is approximately 0.0058 per round, based on my average over the last 20 rounds. .   This looks to be an average of around 0.0061 with an 0.0069 outlier, so maybe 200Gh ??  an overclocked to 375 antminer at 192gh or so doesn't average 0.006 but just a bit below. .
