When are the first orders expected to be delivered?
I should be getting mine soon not sure when though!!
Sure sounds a lot like the early days of the BFL/Bitmine.ch/AMT threads. Starry-eyed high hopes from newbs despite zero physical proof of product. Then it finally became very apparent that despite having made functional prototypes said companies failed miserably at getting a production-ready version going and the pitchforks/torches started to be handed out... At least through it all BFL/Bitmine.ch/AMT talked to folks right up to the very end. Halong exec's on the other hand are smugly sitting back watching money roll in and not saying a word. Still gives a very hinky and certainly not fuzzy-warm feeling. Frankly, I don't care if they *do* actually deliver an on-time product they will never see a single Satoshi from me because of their hubris.

I would've really liked if Halong would've been more open so far.
They said that they will be a better option than Bitmain.
Instead they are even more closed than Bitmain when it comes to the information available.
So it's not much of an improvement in my opinion.

Since it was after the Chinese New years I contacted Yoshi he has promised to ship a unit out in march then 4 more later so I am hopeful . I have not paid anything in as he told me I could pay with cc or paypal when item is ready to ship. I feel for those that ordered in Nov 2017 has to be a long wait for them. Are they transparent no so far not true. I Hope that it works as advertised. I hope it ships on time I will get back with more info when yoshi ships one to me.

"March 15-22 tentatively" Not a slam..but with these units..is there any 'advantage' maybe, over Bitmain..in that they are dumping 3 months of units at the same time (pre-orders). Curious. Again, if this stuff exists I hope you have some edge on Bitmain...price/hash/or whatever.....just asking

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

It begins. Bitmain's starting to undercut the price and delivery time by nearly two months.
Will Halong be able to weather the price drops and remain competitive/profitable? I think we'll find out by fall with reliability reports of the units running more than half a year from now. If they carry forward with a competitive attitude, preferably as a leader and not a follower in pricing, they'll get more market share.

It might almost be funny to see what happens if Halong is able to piss in Bitmains Cornflakes!! My money would be on Bitmain in the case of a price war!!!!

So, if the first units are expected to be delivered in March 15, in about two weeks I'm expecting all this secrecy to end and have some good information about the DragonMint miner. I mean, all that secrecy has been pretty funny and sometimes childish so far. Or what do you guys think about this few months ago, for example: 400x267 pixels picture. Really?
Yup because guys like you can't go zooming in. You can clearly tell its not an S9.... Wait til the video/pictures come out. Cheers. And I hope Phil is able to get one from Yoshi for a review.

The key for DragonMint is to price a tiny bit high and not do a price war. Bitmain has more then 20,000 btc in 1 single address that is 200,000,000 usd DragonMint simply can not win a price war with a 16th 1200 watt miner. As bitmain could sell s-9's for a profit at 800 usd. They got into a price war with Spondollies sp20 and dropped the s-5 down to 350 usd plus shipping . So if they had to they could sell s-9's at well under 800. An 800 dollar s-9 looks better then a 2000 dollar dragonmint to anyone with low power cost. If Dragonmint prices at 2300 it will still be a bit high. https://halongmining.com/shop/dragonmint-16t-miner/it sold out at DragonMint 16T Miner $2,729.00 Or will they just come back and release it at 2000. Remember it was offered at 1400 or so back around black Friday. To me an s-9 for 1815 (with a coupon) in March vs a dragonmint for 2729 in May the choice = easy

Yep. It's over a 15% premium and 2 months of waiting ahead of the S9s. Two months of mining is a ton of profit.
Currently, you would have to buy 13 Dragons to get 208 TH, at about 37k. The same amount of TH would be 32k from Bitmain, 16 units. Less with coupons.
The choice is easy.
Phil, I agree they cannot win a war currently with Bitmain on pricing. The best they can do is have their gear more efficient at a slightly higher price point with similar delivery benchmarks. Unfortunately, 2 months is far too much of a premium at this point. And quite honestly, I've always had an overall high level of reliability from Bitmain. Time will tell how these units perform.
Let's see what Halong does next.

You can pretty easily tell that bitmain cares not at all about halong mining being a competitor. I mean just look at how they mocked Halong with https://tulipmining.com/Bitmain is over there doing 2 billion USD a year in miner sales. They have no competition when it comes to larger customers. I mean if you have the money and rep, you can call bitmain and have 6000 s9s delivered before Halong even finishes shipping singles to people, and at a WAY better price.

They just launched a Decred ASIC - 2100GH/900w -- Shipping in 2-3 weeks https://halongmining.com/shop/dragonmint-b29-blake256-miner/?bundle_quantity_11=1$10499 At least shipping is free! Monero, LTC, and Ethereum payment options too. Let's see if it makes waves like the A3 did. Will Bitmain have a response?! I ended up purchasing some units with bitcoin. I'll let you guys know how this turns out.

One thing added to the list of similarities with Innosilicon -> their pricing is in the same high amount category as it was with the Inno A5.

If bitmain has a response, it will be to put out functional gear, not just sell a spec sheet like Halong has done.

Wow. $10,500/pc. Think I will sit this one out. Can't imagine sending $10k+ to these guys since they have not delivered even one miner yet. Now, you can only pray that Bitmain doesn't come out with the "DC3" (1.2th @ $2,300) to smash profits down to $30/day. That's the real risk here. Good luck and keep us updated.

It's March already, but Halong Mining still hasn't opened their 'curtain of secrecy'. So I'm gonna open it a little more, this time by pointing the similar details in the software section. I have mentioned this earlier, but now I made a comparison picture. This screenshot which I have compared here with my Innosilicon A5 web conf page view, was originally posted by dimaze back in January. It's a picture showing the miner web conf page view open in offordscott's laptop pc. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2443327.msg27812864#msg27812864Screenshot comparison. Click to show a high-resolution image.I also quoted my old posts here, so that the hardware details can also be compared and it's easier to get the full picture at once. First guys to soon receive a Dragonmint unit, please check your machine if we can find out some more information to clear out this 'bermuda triangle' theory. I highly suspect that Innosilicon hardware is involved in the Dragonmint unit. Halong Mining Innosilicon DragonMint 16Th/s ?Still haven't got any replies from Halong or Inno for my questions about this. This partnership with Myrig.com is the most positive thing that has happened so far, but I'm affraid their retail price will be really really high, the same as with the S9 miners. Some new images are uploaded in the Myrig.com shop. I managed to find the high-res images, they were 'hidden'.
See this Imgur album for the picture found at DragonMint product page: https://imgur.com/a/WaHLdWe can finally have a slightly little better look at the miner. For cooling there seems to be two pieces Delta TFC1212DE, front and back, in a push-pull configuration. And I think I now know why the miner web configuration page was just like with the Innosilicon A5 and A4+. The DragonMint miner has the exact same controller board. See it for yourself, here is a picture for comparison: https://i.imgur.com/jxHeSP6.jpgAlso the steel case tube looks a lot like the one Innosilicon uses for the A5 and A4+. Maybe the Halong Mining actually has a subcontract for these miners to be manufactured by Innosilicon? And another design comparison here (pay attention to the controller with this image as well): https://i.imgur.com/a9sZcJa.jpgI surely can't be the only one who sees these similiar design details? One detail to also pay attention is that the Innosilicon control board uses reversed PWM signal for the cooling fan control. This method is not that commonly used. Delta TFC1212DE are cooling fans that are controlled with a reversed PWM signal. DragonMint and Innosilicon A4+, A5 miners use these cooling fans. This detail also supports my theory.

Bitmain sells 3x the hashing power of all other companies combined. But for a guy like me the most efficient power is important. The solar array spring summer power cap is about 18kwatts. that is 160-170 th of s-9's as I know the s-9's do about .11 watts a gh at the wall. or 240 th of dragonmints if they do 1200 watts and 16th I need the extra 70-80th. Most likely they will do 220th vs 170th this is meaningful for me.

Having one of their reps close to me is assuring. Mix that with Yoshi's involvement and Drak's history, I'm feeling okay with my purchase. We'll know at the end of this month for certain!
The only concern I have is Bitmain dropping a bombshell undercutting the delivery and pricing with a combination of flooding the market in a similar time frame. The Decred Dragons having a 2.5-3.5 week lead time is much better than waiting months.
Ordered within a few minutes of it going active, it went from payment processing, paid, to actual order processing now.

I vaguely recall the PSU having something to do with Innosilicon as well, I think they may be partnering with them for the PSUs. My guess is they're taking the best features out of all the interfaces and putting them together for a superior one.
