You can request a refund if they dont ship by Jan 28th. Not sure why the 28th, as its a tuesday and not the last day of the month.

Holy crap... so when I spoke to Rodrigo... was it Edward?
I don't know, and Rodriguez is a common middle name. (obviously).

When did you spoke with Rodrigo? And why? If you don't mind to share, off course.

Yeah, it's a mess if you start looking at background reports on him.  He's listed under a lot of variants, but it may not be altogether his fault.  I have a pretty simple name and it's always been the same, but the agencies have like 8 "also known as" names for me.  For instance, if your name is Christopher and somebody lists you as Chris, presto, new "alias" as far as reporting agencies are concerned.

Anyway, I think Eduardo also uses Edward, and sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't use his middle names (L and R), and then with a surname like de Castro, of course that gets multilated 17 ways by English-oriented agencies.  Complicated.

Yes, and in a proper Latin American naming convention, his surname may be "Rodriguez de Castro", and he'd be listed alphabetically under "R", but who knows.  But he could have fooled with his name, for legitimate reasons, when he came to the US.  My own family is mixed with dual nationalities US/Latin America, and I know the complications, so we shouldn't rush to suggest he's done anything with his name to cover his tracks.

Ok, sorry. Speaking of Erin - any idea of who Erin is?
Asking for help from Bruno if he can.

For example, every other person associated with hashfast that wrote on their blog has their full name and surname, not Erin, that is called "Erin HashFast" on their blog.
http://hashfast.com/author/erin/

It's not on linkedin, either.

It looks like some kind of fake account with no real person behind it, or someone that cared about his privacy - an investor maybe?

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)

They cannot unilaterally impose conditions upon you.  If batch I wants a refund they can request it anytime before delivery.

I agree. I'm sure they just want to know by the 10th which units they don't need to ship. Thats my speculation on that. If i had to guess they are looking to ship in the next 2 weeks™.

I've paid with a wire transfer instead of BTC. As such I have no hope of getting back BTC.

Is there any reason for me NOT to request a refund at this point?

If they ship anywhere within the next 2 months, and ship MPP within 4 months, I can still theoretically ROI, but the chances of that are slim. (Especially if they get sued by the BTC refund crowed and go out of business).

to be honest i dont expect anyone to get btc-refunds, even if plaid guilty for fraud or whatever. and if their chip-design works they will be able to mine themselves enough bitcoins to stay in business as long as they want to. it basically stands and falls all with the outcome of the ASICs.

I don't think that she has a last name.  ...like Prince or Madonna.

http://workpetaluma.com/coworkers/ - scroll down to "COMPUTER SOFTWARE & HARDWARE".  ....no last name, just "Erin".

There must be someone - and i'm not making any name - inside HF that is forcing everyone else to act like an Idiot. It must be the business model. They can't really have democratically decided to act like this.

If somebody is bored and looking for something to do other than worry about their missing bitcoins, you can:

Determine what happened to "Fine Control, Inc" of Palo Alto, CA.  This is one of the gaps in Eduardo's CV.  He founded the company but it no longer exists.  This is the only description of what it did that I can easily google (from the CV of somebody that worked there):

"
Embedded Systems Programmer
Fine Control, Inc

December 2007 – July 2008 (8 months)

* Programmed microcontroller (AVR) for heat exchange and lighting system
* Designed sensor interfaces and debugged PCB electronics
* Conducted mechanical, electrical, and scientific testing of components "

Sounds like an industrial control company.  Someone mentioned there was an employee who had quit HashFast.  Does anyone remember any details about that?

Don't jump to any conclusions, because this could be nothing more than a couple of speeding tickets, but Long Dong appears to have a record from the 90s:

Court Records

Name:   Abram Kottmeier
DOB:   04/24/1972
Source:   Santa Clara CA
Reported:   07/20/2009

Offense 1:   NOT SPECIFIED BY STATE
File Date:   05/13/1994
Case No:   172480

Offense 2:   NOT SPECIFIED BY STATE
File Date:   12/22/1993
Case No:   C9370815

I don't know anything about looking up Santa Clara, CA court records.  Any volunteers?

Has anybody received any indication of when the upgrade kits for the Batch 1 BabyJet's are expected to ship?

I've tried asking HashFast 6 times so far with no response. (I believe they're trying to force me to request a refund by refusing to answer questions.)

Now, this is something that could go in my referenced and purely factual wiki as well Smiley

Dude, sorry for the bad news but you ain't getting your device. You've been scammed like the rest of us.  Now you can do one of three things.
a)nothing
b)request a USD refund and let them get away with your BTC
c)lawyer up and try to get back your BTC

Hey, my wiki is going to be referenced and purely factual too.  I just have a broader definition of what constitute pertinent facts.

But I have decided to stay in information gathering mode until the next announcements, which I assume come soon.  Then we will see if the wiki gets built and goes live.  It will probably operate with several domain names.
