New stick updates The sellers of the new sticks have changed pricing again. They realized that a new fourth seller was undercutting the price structure and have decided to keep the pricing more in line with each other. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=296301.0 usa https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=297320.0 eu/ek https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=296953.0 asia fourth seller after exchanging pm's has altered his pricing to match the other sellers. nice guy polite with pm's. when I pointed out his pricing would undercut all the approved sellers he agreed. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=297304.0 GB seller takes paypal. _______________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________ Below is an alternate version of the new sticks https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291456.0 will hash at a lower rate and cost less. no heat sink. less developed and may not ship until late oct or early nov. _______________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ one of the threads says doc H is getting a stick sent to him. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=296301.0from thread above: Beastlymac Full Member Activity: 126 Trust: 0: -0 / +0(0) Ignore Re: [NOW OPEN] 0.83 - 0.9 BTC ~2.5 GH/s BPMC "RED FURY" USB MINERS! GB#9! Today at 06:10:39 AM #49 Quote from: philipma1957 on Today at 01:21:14 AM Quote from: ssinc on Today at 12:38:08 AM I will not be selling these on eBay. Only directly to customers here and through my webstore. If you are a eBay re-seller contact me for special bulk pricing and handling options. I am gathering coins for a 20 stick buy. I plan to order 20 a week sell 15-17 on ebay. I may try to set up a small buy for bitminter.com miners I would like to order 20 run them for a day and sell them knowing they work. I run the sticks on bitminter.com java client since it is the most newbe friendly client for mining. I sold a few hundred AM sticks on ebay like this trying to make it easy and fairly low cost for a new miner to get started. I Should have my coins in order in 2-4 days. I want sticks in hand and pretested by me with my mining farm to be able to sell on ebay as I believe this is the best way for a new miner to start up. Send in a payment and the item ships out in 1 day. I don't mind doing a preorder to get started with stock. But I want the ebayers to know I ship it out fast. This really worked well for me with the AM sticks. Since you have the earliest delivery date I am gathering coins to buy from you. Knowing these work with bitminter.com java client is a must. BTW dr h of bitminter thinks they will since they are serial port com type devices Yes we will be setting up some units that DrHaribo can ssh in and work with. We expect bitminter support soon. ^^^ very good news... _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________ I am still gathering coins and have about 10 so far. with the price structure back in synch. for these my goal is to order 20 sticks for 17 coins and sell 14 to 16 in sets of 2. then repeat this 2 or 3 times.

I agree, they should send him one, because he is indirectly increasing their sales.

Have we gotten any confirmation about clearance on that heatsink? Most USB hubs have the ports packed pretty tightly and I'd be interested in getting a few of these but not if I have to replace my hubs.

Unfortunately, the companies making these things don't think that is true at all ... ... and they enjoy the free software development and support they get even though some of them make huge profits.

Just use a short male - female extension cable on every second stick.

I agree, they should send him one, because he is indirectly increasing their sales. I also agree. I've worked with hardware companies where they send me their hardware for a few weeks for free to make it work with my software. In return I promote their equipment and my users know for a fact that what they buy will work with my software since my company personally has used the exact device. Other times I've worked deals with some hardware companies so they sale it to me at a discount since it's only for testing, I even take their demo or "floor model" that they no longer use. They know that when I'm talking to my customers I'll be mentioning their company as one we work with and it provides confidance in the equipment. It's a win win for my company and with the free advertising for the their company. I deal with end users all the time and that is the thing everyone needs to understand. You may have equipment to sale but you need people willing to buy. How do you do that with the least amount of money and effort going into advertising and proving your value to the community expecially since the bad taste some companys have put into us mininer's mouths when buying equipment. Expecially in the case of new USB stick getting some well known names using and to be able to test their equipment is in their best intrest and in effect the ROI to that selling company is much higher. Everyone likes to do the ROI for equipment so lets do a little here: New unknown and unproven company gives out, we will say, 5 sticks to various well known celebrities of the BTC community that cost only production cost. Those people in turn will be doing advertising to a wide range of people on their blogs and sites they control the sites that people trust. ROI of the monetary amount of the physical device is negative but the ROI by the sales because of this should be in the positive.

Just use a short male - female extension cable on every second stick. That would certainly work but I'd have to come up with some way to adjust my fan setup. I'm mostly interested to know if these will fit in exactly where I currently have ASIC Miner USB sticks or if I need to factor in additional time/costs. The heatsink doesn't look that bulky but I was curious if someone had some direct measurements/comparisons to current hardware.

It could be brownouts, or issues with daisy chain topology. I don't think the guys who invented USB ever figured we'd be actually connecting 100+ USB devices at once. I had 80+ GH of USB BE's running on 3 Mac's. You know, there is this killer Targus 7 port USB hub with 3.5Amp transformer that I have that nobody out there seems to know about. I was thinking of getting rid of them, but maybe if these new USB's pan out, I'll keep em. Here is an old Ebay auction in which the Targus 7 port hubs are shown - they clip together! Very cool I'd post images, but I don't know how so here is a link to the finished auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281149519539?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649

My asus maximus gene v has 3 usb ports for usb 2 purposes . rest are usb 3. if I plug 1 hub into each port that is 3 hubs but the mobo is wired that each is the first of a 5 possible. in english port a = 1 hub then plug in 4 hubs . so that is a 10 port with 4 ten ports plugged into it or 6 plus 40 total of 46 jacks for sticks. port b = 1 hub then plug in 4 hubs . so that is a 10 port with 4 ten port hubs plugged into it . or 6 plus 40 total of 46 jacks for sticks. port c = 1 hub then plug in 4 hubs so that is a 10 port with 4 ten port hubs plugged into it. or 6 plus 40 total of 46 jacks for sticks. I can do any 2 of the 3 above maxed so 92 sticks are a piece of cake. when I try to do all 3 I go past the 127 usb limit and all kinds of problems. this mobo has done 105 sticks. right now it does 100 sticks. I am happy doing 100 sticks. if I could swap al bit fury's I could be doing about 230gh instead of 33gh with the same power use! I am thinking the spacing will allow for 60 sticks instead of 100 sticks. but 60 bitfurys would get me to 150gh with less power then the 100 sticks at 33gh. I almost have 17 coins to order the 20 sticks. I hope to place my order on the 23rd

Yah, it can be 5 deep.
And most computers (like my various OS X Mac's) have 2 USB ports.
I rig em up on the fly and keep a count of the connections and optimize as you go.

I don't know much about blades. but I would think it depends on your ethernet switches. I would think a 5 port switch could be assigned 1 good ip address and switch quick enough between the blades, but frankly I do not know.

Yes it does look like the matrix. so as long as i assign diff ports for each blade, the one proxy server (proxy miner) will serve all blades on my local net. Is that right? just wanting some info before i get in over my head again!
