I can't understand why they didn't clone the server, let the exchange run as it is and then apply the fix once they had it. I won't lie, I feel bad as I wait cause I have loads of money in there. The good side is that there is still communication which is good, but I would like an update as soon as possible. 2 days is unacceptable omg.. Why do we have unprofessional noobs running businesses like this? This shows so much disrespect towards customers. I can't even fathom doing this to the people that make you millions of dollars a day. I just can't.

I can understand that one day is down, depending on the upgrade and many things inside, but two days?? seriously?? with places like Binance and KuCoin working great, Kraken is risking a lot.
You'd better explain well this issue. Anyway, at least some info each 4 hours.

I wait like everybody else here so that Kraken will re-open and be better from what was.
It's very clear that a system that was designed to serve some thousands or some hundred thousands was not possible to serve millions..
I hope everything goes well with your update!
Same here! I find it strange that people complain for weeks (months?) about the bad service. And when Kraken has a solution (aka a new trading engine) and sets it into reality, people complain about that they are working on a solution. This is not a simple Windows update or VM clone, this is more like a complicated open heart sugery across an army of servers. You can test all kinds of scenarios before but in the end you need to do it and solve all the problems that come along. Also I prefer devs who get enough sleep to make a solid and stable environment and thourougly test everything before releasing it into the wild. So sit back and relax! And I think many will be thankful for two extra days of HODL instead of panic FOMOFUD (FUDOMO?) selling because this is gonna be a great year for crypto  |

Is Kraken insured, or any other exchange for that matter ? We have the drawbacks of banks (AML/KYC bullshit) but not the benefits.

From 2 hours to a whole day.. when is this upgrade going to be finished? I missed a lot of trading opportunities today and I don't appreciate that at all. But who cares...........
We lost a lot of trading opportunities for month with lag and other bug .... So all prefer 1 day without trading at all for have a fonctionnal site .... Exactly! |

Lesson learned again. Everybody will probably be withdrawing all their funds when they resume lol I have a couple of gran there in my account but If they really will suddenly close like gox, its all theirs. No matter how reputable, how long they have been in the business its still not safe storing tokens on exchanges.
The problem is for the average person the withdrawal fees on the crypto are so high now that your coins are kindof stuck on the exchanges. |

Kraken isn't going to be the next MtGox and we're not running with your funds. Once we have an update we will post it on our status page. My coins have NOT moved. I trust Kraken, but yes, like most of you guys, I'm not comfortable until I can log into my account. I will wait though. Let's hope for the best and when I say this, I mean having Kraken come back online soon and have a stellar trading engine as well.

Same here, my coins haven't moved. It's not going to make me more confident until I see Kraken's website online again. While the week end is starting I doubt we will see something done before Monday.
If they can't update the site, then stop it, take the site back online and try again when you're sure to be able to perform the upgrade

I know there are talks about making sure your funds haven't moved but your funds are never stored in your deposit address. They're moved to our hot wallet. Similarly, if you request a withdrawal, your funds won't come from your deposit address. They'll come from our hot wallet.
No fiat or crypto withdrawals are being processed during this downtime.

This is really puzzling. It looks like an exit scam, but rational people would realize that with so much money they would be hunted with great effort plus some part of their customers is quite IT proficient plus US based means a bit suspicious justice system and extraditions around the world. On the other hand else this would be shocking incompetence, given that they have had problems for a while and they probably have money to build several such systems in parallel. I have money there too, by the way.
