There was an extended period (it had been just over 20 minutes when I made my last post) with no trades on any trade pairs. I tested both market and limit orders and received errors. Just like old times.

API trading is giving back bad values for the ticker. Also the expire time on all my orders is coming back as 17 seconds.. even though they do not expire within that time.

Wait, what? Do you tell us to spam your website by creating new accounts continuously until we get an account whose get verified tab is available? I just can't believe this is your solution.
I was plannin to open a Kraken account for some time, I decided finally and I did it today. And then I see "verification is currently unavailable" warning on the screen. I can go to Bitfinex and create a new account but I like Kraken, please don't lose your new customers by not fixing this verification problem for newcomers.
I still can't understand one thing, if I see this "verification is currently unavailable" warning on my account, then do I have to open a new account? Isn't there another way? Won't you fix this problem? Please be more specific. We can't keep creating accounts until we get one without that warning, this is really not logical and fair.

Yep, it's completely asinine to suggest for new users to just keep trying other email addresses and keep signing up under new account usernames to see if maybe one of the new accounts will allow you to submit ID verification paperwork. Actually many posters here have already tried dozens of new accounts and they get the same response, 'feature disabled'; which likely means it was deliberately 'disabled'. It sounds like they really are adamant that this is a 'bug' but I am a retired software eng in the industry for two decades on enterprise level and anytime a label verbiage stated 'disabled' etc it was indeed disabled, otherwise there would be some sort of error code or something. I still believe for some reason they just do not want to admit that they deliberately turned off the 'Get Verified' 'feature' for the time being, which actually in light of all the core trading engine issues would have been totally understandable, but then just tell us that, why tell us we should just keep trying new account creations when we all know that is not going to change the customer experience. Do they just want a ton of new signups to inflate stats? I don't get it.
Anyway, it's quite simple, the first exchange that verifies my ID (KYC) will get my business, all the others, oh well, will likely just sit as empty accounts while I use whichever account was first in getting my account on board for trading. It's a shame though because I really wanted to try Kraken, especially after a trading engine upgrade, it appears that it could be a great exchange and I still will be patiently waiting to get verified, I refuse to just keep trying new accounts, besides I only have one primary email address, I don't own dozens of email address, but after a few weeks of waiting I will likely just use whichever exchange wins my business because time is of the essence in the crypto world which is turning quickly right now; bad time to plan for a major core trading engine upgrade.
There are many very easy methodologies to employ in IT in order to not have such botched launches, backups, segregated server farms still running the old code which can easily be put back in rotation if the launch of the servers with the new code fails, etc etc etc. Does not bode well as a first impression, HOWEVER, I am hearing great things about the new engine so actually really excited to get on Kraken platform but I'll continue to wait and hope I can get my account verified, but my patience has limits, there exists competition out there, so we'll see what happens.... tick tick tick .....

Please note that Kraken also has a major focus on security, as we're talking about billions of client's dollars here. There is a huge bottleneck on the work that can be completed, as we're only able to trust a certain number of developers.

The frontend code shows "Feature disabled" when it gets any error from the backend, no matter what the error actually is. Combination of sloppy frontend code, and some issue on the backend with verification.

I want to get back to Kraken as it's my favorite trading platform for the big coins, but I'm really hesitant as I've lost thousands of % (collateral in positions and opportunities) because of lag, unable to place orders and the absence of stop loss orders in only a few months. I still remember very recently when I tried to place for 3 days 4 hours non-stop xrp buy orders @ ~€0.19 and they didn't get through and few days later it mooned, while my newbie friend bought xrp from a retail website for €0.21 and he made over €50k in 1 week and cashed a portion of it out using the same website, you got my drift?
I need to consider my financial options if it's more profitable and less stressful to dedicate resources to crypto exchanges, forex brokers, investing in a portfolio and forget trading (as my newbie friend does) or in my company and continue my entrepreneurial journey. It looks like the newbies who buy and hold (investing) are reaping much more rewards without any stress vs the traders who are in constant uncertainty about the entire environment (functionality, safety, non existing insurance, risk/reward trades, a lot of dedicated time, etc.).
So, in summary, the questions I have are:
- How fast are orders placed in ms/seconds (not of your feelings or opinions)?
- No double order placements?
- Margin trading works?
- Downtime during trading?
- When are stop loss orders coming back?
