Chimaev also had covid during his absence in UFC. Also he though to retire, but this weekend he fights in UFC267. Theoretically, he might have mental issues or motivation for a nice fight (if this fight is just an obligatory from contract). His current shape is unknown so far. His opponent is also not a no-name. 7 years in UFC, experienced, never been knockout (has a very strong chin) and lost only once by submission. Has a good cardio, while Chimaev fights never last more than 7min. I dont expect this as an easy fight for Chimaev.

Fat Costa is not a mythical figure, this is the norm now XD Yeah, not many people are leaning away from Chimaev at this point. I mean, he might surprise us, anything is possible. The current state of fighters in the UFC is that it seems you can't get hooked on any fighter in particular, like none and all at the same time have a chance of going to the top, and that makes it more exciting IMHO.

Good event this weekend, two title fights if I'm not mistaken? I'm fancying Polish power in Jan Blachowicz against Glover. I'm also going out on a bit of a limb here, and going with the Cory Sandhagen win against Petr Yan, though I'll admit there's a bit of bias in there, as I quite like Cory.

On a slightly off topic note, has anyone else noticed the amount of MMA movies coming out or being announced recently?

Really? Never seen or heard about that. But I know that there are tv series named "Kingdom" about retired mma fighter, training and coaching. But it is not like Rocky like movie. You wont find any motivating moments like "eye of the tiger" or "gonna fly now" there.

Anyone watched staredown? Makhachev vs Hooker, Chimaev vs Jingliang were smiling all the time. I like that attitude. No disrespect between fighters.

My predictions are: Blachowicz, Yan, Makhachev, Volkov, Chimaev, Ankalaev.

I'm looking to get a full set of predictions out tomorrow in time for the fights, I haven't done one in a while. Going to be reviewing some tapes tonight on some of the lesser known fighters to see if I can identify any potential upsets here.

Kingdom series is my absolutely favourite, though I'll admit it's more a drama series than MMA though I quite liked the actors in that, and it was well put together. I know "Born a champion" that was released earlier this year. There's also "Notorious Nick" which is about a one armed MMA fighter. There's also "American Fighter" all of which have either been released in 2021 or being released in 2021. So, that's at least three movies off the top of my head, but I believe there was more. I think the "Born a champion" is the biggest budget one.

I'll be honest I don't think any of them are going to compete with Kingdom, one of the most underrated series about in my opinion.

Yan offered Sandhagen a hand shake.  Now we know he’s gonna be in the cage to kill Sandhagen. 

My first impression after looking at the stats and thinking about the stylistic match up, Sandhagen.  After watching some  tape of both, Yan.  It could be sketchy early for Yan tho.  So Yan live bet after the first or the second round could be better than taking him straight up at the current line.

My Picks for UFC 267

Jan Blachowicz VS Glover Teixeira

I really think this match is really close to papers, and yes this is really happening, I guess the difference in their age is remarkable, it has a 4-year interval, but it is not a good choice to just compare their age because I really think both of this men are not out of their primes but is still learning so much in the UFC, and his fight from he is still not in the UFC, he has beaten Marvin Eastman and Ricco Rodriguez a former UFC heavyweight Champion and by entering into UFC the list of names goes on and on, but pretty much Blachowicz has a pretty decent takedown defense but I guess Jan Blachowicz is good at catching fighters committing to really throw a punch or faints sometimes is really not effective to him, but the stake.com's odds are 1.33 for Blachowicz and 3.45 for Teixeira, and my pick would be Jan Blachowicz winning this match.

Petr Yan VS Cory Sandhagen

I can say Petr Yan has established himself pretty well, a pure kickboxer, I think his main weapon here is his accuracy and power of his punches, while Sandhagen will cater an unpredictable movement pretty much I surely have a perspective on Sandhagen as a weird movement fighter, well that is just my opinion, I think if Petr Yan would not show all of his aces to Sandhagen Yan may knockout Sandhagen, but if Cory Sandhagen can make his move unpredictable he could outsmart Yan, but I really think that is not going to happen, Stake.com's odds, 1.47 Yan and 2.75 for Sandhagen, I will go with Petr Yan winning this match.

Islam Makhachev VS Dan Hooker

Even though this is just short notice, Dan Hooker is replacing Rafael dos Anjos to fight a future champion Islam Makhachev, this is really going to be an interesting matchup because Dan Hooker is the kind of fighter who's going to fight in whatever possible as he can, but I guess Makhachev has a huge gas tank, that he can surely fight harder on the ground the odds in stake.com heavily favor Islam Makhachev, he is the favorite here, and I think I will also go with the hype, but I really like a fighter with a slight same style as Khabib Nurmagomenodov that is why my pick will be non-other than, Islam Makhachev.

Li Jingliang VS Khamzat Chimaev

The return of Khamzat Chimaev after a long break Chimaev would like to target Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, and if Jingliang would withstand Chimaev's pressure inside the ring then he might get a chance, I know Li Jingliang has a lot of experience but Khamzat Chimaev is pretty much very very good at his wrestling, he could pressure you with his takedown and pretty much has the strength to do so, but the thing that scares me with this fight is the long rest of Chimaev, does he still have that rhythm to finish this match with ease, but hey the odds in stake.com also favored the Russian-Swedish fighter, 5.40 for Jingliang and 1.17 for Chimaev, my pick will be with the same style like Nurmagomenodov Khamzat Chimaev.

Li Jingliang and Khamzat Chimaev had a dramatic face off and Khamzat Chimaev missed weight the first time and he was given one hour to make weight and the second weigh in is termed as the second towel gate by some of the media  .

My predictions are: Blachowicz, Yan, Makhachev, Volkov, Chimaev, Ankalaev.

My picks will be along these lines but i need to look at Magomed Ankalaev and Volkan Oezdemir as he is always dangerous and has the power to end the fight any moment. Khamzat Chimaev and Islam Makhachev will be my parlay bet along with a few other events. The rest i need to check once again before placing those bets.

I surely know the Beautiful Amanda Rivas, and I have mentioned her in my post with the poster of the UFC 267 fight, but I haven't included her in my pick because I am limiting my bets up to 4 and I am not sure if I can guarantee her winning, because I really didn't make much research with her opponent Virna Jandiroba, looks like her opponent can take a damaging punch from Rivas or can take a hit from a featherweight.

And regarding Jan Blachowicz VS Glover Teixeira I think Blachowicz is really ready to face Teixeira, well I don't really think that Israel Adesanya can beat Glover Teixeira, but with the fight with Adesanya, Blachowicz can really identify a fake or faints and really good at pulling away from shot's and got the timing and skill to really read the opponent movements, so I will still stick to Jan Blachowicz.

Guys I forgot that this UFC is starting early in Abu Dhabi and I only missed 4 fights from prelims, tuning in now for Benoit Saint-Denis vs Elizeu Zaleski.
This card is stacked with great fights so I am ready for some KOs maybe even in main event, or in fight Alexander Volkov vs Marcin Tybura.

The main event started and Amanda Ribas won her fight and i am also rooting for Glover Teixeira to win the fight as this is the last opportunity for him to win the title and i remember him when he was fighting outside the UFC and was knocking out everyone and during his prime he was having visa issues to get to the US and when the faced Jon Jones he was not able to do anything as he overcame him easily.

Next fight is Khamzat Chimaev and i am expecting an easy win for him .

I thought Li Jingliang will be a good opponent but he defeated him without any struggle, he needs to fight Leon Edwards and then for the title.

He did good on this one, stacking up wins like that. But I am not surprised knowing he is coming from the famous Allstar gym in Sweden, and they had their fair share of quality fighters. He just needs to pace himself with how he jumps in the rankings. But a bright future in front of him.

Do you think he could win Usman? I am not doubting your post, but Usman a strong guy. Chimaev is not even in top right now. I think after this fight he will be in top10 and face Leon Eswards, then or before Edwars someone else, and after Usman or Covington.

The one, who has fought this evening, that is going to be champ - Islam Makhachev. Quite an easy fight for him tonight.

Fantastic. Jan tapped too quickly. I think that he did not recovered from that standing knockdown, because Glover moved him to ground too easy and quickly.

Just finished watching... what can I say, impressive performance from Petr Yan who should be the real champion of Bantamweight division, not actor Aljamain Sterling.
Glover Teixeira dominated in main event with his great tactics, takedowns from start and Blachowicz was just a shadow of a fighter we saw in previous fights.
Good night for many fighters from Russia and Khabib team seems to be undestructible.
