I've heard rumors that UFC wants to feed Nate Diaz to Chimaev. Nate is popular and can sell a lot of PPV. Chivaes, as I understand is a new (or will be) milking cow for UFC. Nate has two losses in row, and he has 1 last fight in his contract. He rarely fights. He could fight Chimaev, lose, get fired and end his career. Their fight would bring a lot of money for UFC.

^  Lol no way Diaz is taking that match up.  I was not really too high on Chimaev last year but after wining vs Liang like it was nothing..  We could be seeing somebody exceptional here.  Kinda like another Jon Jones or a Khabib.

Here are the results for the weigh ins.  Alvarez missed weight but he could win.  The guy looked huge at face off and I don’t think Moises has that big of a skill edge.

Max Holloway (146) vs. Yair Rodriguez (145.5)
Marcos Rogerio de Lima (259) vs. Ben Rothwell (265)
Leah Letson (145) vs. Felicia Spencer (145.5)
Miguel Baeza (170.5) vs. Khaos Williams (169)
Julio Arce (135.5) vs. Song Yadong (135.5)
Joel Alvarez (157.5)* vs. Thiago Moises (155)
Cynthia Calvillo (126) vs. Andrea Lee (125.5)
Collin Anglin (146) vs. Sean Woodson (145.5)
Cortney Casey (125) vs. Liana Jojua (128.5)*
Rafael Alves (155) vs. Marc Diakiese (156)
Da-un Jung (204.5) vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu (205)

*Missed weight

UFC prelims started earlier than I expected so tune in guys, it's now girls fighting Cortney Casey vs Liana Jojua.
I am honestly only waiting for main event and I even places small bet on Yair Rodriguez to win, and fight to go to distance.
It's true that Holloway is a big favorite but I think other fighters learned his weak spots and I think underdog can surprise him today.

Oh, I wouldn't be so sure Nate wouldn't take that fight. He's not one to turn anyone down, and it worked and it didn't work before, so he's that kinda guy. But, this is a fight where he would be a huge underdog, and Chimaev would not gain anything with a win, so I don't really see a need for it. All this talk about Nates retirement, give him something fun, not a fucking bloodbath at the end.

Nate has two losses in row, and he has 1 last fight in his contract. He rarely fights. He could fight Chimaev, lose, get fired and end his career. Their fight would bring a lot of money for UFC.

I am for Khamzat Chimaev when that happens but I guess Nate Diaz camp will surely not allow that, they have seen the power of Chimaev, even though Diaz is popular, Diaz would be an easy target for Khamzat Chimaev and there is no way Nate is going to do such thing,

Well on to UFC Fight Night Holloway VS Rodriguez I would surely like to share my picks and what I think may happen

Max Holloway VS Yair Rodriguez

I am confused why they pitted Max Holloway to a returning Yair Rodriguez that his last fight was on October 18 2019 talked about a long break from fighting while Max Holloway is very active in the industry although he had a tough fight with Alexander Volkanovski but had a great fight with Calvin Kattar, in my opinion, that experience with fighting with Max Holloway is way more than a Yair Rodriguez could offer, and the volume of strikes he can give to him, maybe I am 1 sided when it comes to these two but for me Max Holloway all the way, Stake.com odds 1.13 Holloway and 6.00 Rodriguez.

Cynthia Calvillo VS Andrea Lee

I am leaving it here just to show how much support I will be giving Andrea Lee with her fight against Cynthia Calvillo, this is one very hot kicking chick in my opinion, Even though Cynthia Calvillo has a good wrestling side, and show great performance with Jessica Eye, and pitted against Jessica Andrade, but I think Andrea Lee might pull something against Calvillo and this is a really tough fight for Lee, but if you look at Andrea Lee's Instagram there are many training videos of different coach I really think it might be a shot to solidify her win against Calvillo, but like I said it will be a tough fight for her but I will go with Andrea Lee winning this.

I am in the Khamzat Chimaev train well before he entered the UFC and unless and until he faces top 5 fighters he will be having a free run finishing everyone, in one of his early fights in his career he got clicked once and got rocked but he went into wrestling mode and finished the fight. He improved a lot from that but i am really interested to see how he copes when he faces tough competition and he could be the next superstar.

I am honestly only waiting for main event and I even places small bet on Yair Rodriguez to win, and fight to go to distance.

I am seeing many picking the fight to go the distance but i doubt that. Yair Rodriguez is returning after a long break and it is difficult to know how much he improved and he usually get hit a lot when he is facing technical strikers and Max Holloway is a technical striker and i expect a bloodied Yair Rodriguez at the end of the fight.

Whatever it is Nate Diaz needs to step up his game if he's going to face Chimaev or Usman as the rumor says.

And the full results are:

With the main event being a banger and the other fights on the card finishing with TKOs, hard to say anything bad about this card. Hell, even the prelims were mostly finishes one way or another. But, being the devil's advocate here, or whatever you want to call it, but seeing Max take so much damage time and time again just makes me wonder about his long-term health.

I lost on Yair but what a fight that was! Even that 49-46 score from one judge looked like an injustice to the fight but I have no issue with the UD.

Not to mention the number of times he's been in five-rounder fights. He's probably four/five fights away before we start seeing more serious damage (career ending type of injuries). I hope he gets one last shot at the title before that happens.

Missed the matches after Baeza vs Khaos Williams as I had to go somewhere.  But I heard the main event was an absolute banger.  I saw some pics of Yair Rodriguez’s foot after the match.  It was gross.  Rofl.

It's been a long road for Nate and his batch has already been out of the league. maybe UFC will honor him as one of the Hall of fame when he finally steps down in the ring.

True. Nate Diaz wouldn't make it to 2nd round against Chimaev or Usman. The last fight of Diaz is just not going to convince anyone that he still has got it. Holloway is also slowing down or it's because Yair is quicker. It's just that Max can take Yair's jab like it's nothing.

Yair Rodríguez really impressed me with the way he fought even though he is coming back after a long gap and Max Holloway went to war and it was good for the fans as all the main events are giving great fight of the year performance .

Marcos Rogério de Lima was a surprise one as i have not see him fight earlier and he was able to finish Ben.

I expected Cynthia Calvillo to be better but Andrea Lee was really good and finished the fight with strikes, i was expecting a ground battle but that never happened.

Yair Rodríguez took a lot of damage as mentioned earlier because whenever he fights you tend to see a war and that is what we saw in this fight as well and he cannot sustain this kind of damage for a long time and he needs to learn striking defense rather than exposing his chin to a lot of shots.

~

Dana White does not mind giving Khamzat Chimaev to Nate Diaz, but i think he needs to give him a break for his final fight and ask him to pick a fight he likes to fight rather than forcing him to fight the wolf.

But, being the devil's advocate here, or whatever you want to call it, but seeing Max take so much damage time and time again just makes me wonder about his long-term health.

Even if Yair Rodriguez took a two-year hiatus, he was able to last 5 rounds against Max Holloway. A warrior to be respected is Rodriquez. In the first round, Yair Rodriquez's low kicks were effective. Max Holloway scored well with the take downs he took in the 3rd and 4th rounds, and the experienced name won the match as expected.

Max Holloway vs Yair Rodriguez

This fight does end up in a decision but man it is a war, Yair Rodriguez really fought his way, and many in the books sure underestimated the guy, but shout out to Holloway for having a decent chin, he surely eats up many strikes, a Knee, an elbow, 1 to 2 combination of punches but Max Holloway just accepted all that strikes, this is what I see about Max Holloway his focus more on the offense and not in the defense, and from Yair Rodriguez leg kick he just ignores it or sometimes goes with the takedown or a combination, Max Holloway definitely got his momentum that he wants against Yair Rodriguez, It is really a war and these two just exchanges blows and their strikes, Yair surely come prepared but still, it is not good enough.

Cynthia Calvillo vs. Andrea Lee

It seems that Cynthia Calvillo is really tough and got accuracy landing her punches, and from that exchange of punching pace and both fighters bloodied their nose, then Cynthia Calvillo just went to the takedown when seen an opening, but Andrea Lee just got off from it until the 1st round ends, and now the 2nd round starter Andrea Lee just went berserk with the strikes, and Calvillo just started running around just wobbling and Lee just notices this and try to act and this fight has become a doctor stoppage from Cynthia Calvillo's Bloodied nose, so this sexy girl just got it with her.

There is no doubt about the resilient of both the fighters and Yair Rodriguez started really great with his leg kicks and it was taking a toll for Max Holloway and we are seeing great fights and now i want to see Max Holloway taking on Conor McGregor, even though it does not make any sense so that Max Holloway could take his revenge for his loss in the first fight.

Yair Rodriguez is really doing great, I think his way of style against Max Holloway is based on Holloway fighting Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Alexander Volkanovski that is why Yair Rodriguez is keeping up with Holloway, but the distance is really visible between the two, it might be because of Yair Rodriguez gap is not being active in for more than a year, but Max Holloway is sure gained much experience from his past fight so he sure has the upper hand, but both fighters are really amazing, Yair Rodriguez despite not being active had shown how great of a fighter he can be,

Well, Max Holloway vs Conor McGregor might not be possible he is in the top 1 right now in the featherweight Division and he might be eyeing another rematch against Alexander Volkanovski.

Its a surprise how time flies, Nate Diaz was one of the best fighters in the UFC but there's a chance that his 1 last fight may be the end of his career in the UFC and there's speculation that the bare-knuckle fight championship could be his next option if the UFC.
Whatever it is Nate Diaz needs to step up his game if he's going to face Chimaev or Usman as the rumor says.

He just needs to fight one more time to finally conclude his career to fight in the UFC and live his life to the fullest unless he got some opportunities to be one of the trainers of the next UFC champion.

No one can be king forever and bittraffic I also don't see him make it to 2nd round against the two especially Usman cause he's totally fit and break down walls.
I don't know the reason behind Nate Diaz's performance lately but someone like him who's 36years ought to perform well in the octagon. His fate relies upon the offer he'll get after his last fight.

I lost on Yair but what a fight that was! Even that 49-46 score from one judge looked like an injustice to the fight but I have no issue with the UD.

~ But, being the devil's advocate here, or whatever you want to call it, but seeing Max take so much damage time and time again just makes me wonder about his long-term health.
Not to mention the number of times he's been in five-rounder fights. He's probably four/five fights away before we start seeing more serious damage (career ending type of injuries). I hope he gets one last shot at the title before that happens.

Seems like it. I mean, there are always outliers that do not succumb to the toll of the fighting life, but those are few. Look at Ferguson. Sure, he wasn't the sanest person before, but now you can throw in the occasional domestic abuse and talk about hearing people in walls. And some of that has to come down to head damage.
