Cool story about Mackenzie Dern returning back to MMA after he became a mother, here first fight was only four months after she had a baby and this was her only loss so far.
I am giving her advantage to win in fight against Marina Rodriguez and we may see full five round fight:

Dern returning to MMA 4 months after gave birth is just cringe. But whatever, glad she is active with 3 fights in 2020 and now at least 2 in 2021. Others should take notes on the level of activity an upcoming fighter should have to keep remaining relevant in the promotion. With a win here she should be golden when it comes to rankings and could very well be in line to fight the loser of Weili / Namajunas.

I think it is normal to stop fighting when a female is surely giving birth but I sure like her will in return after she has given birth to Moa, and this fight could be a great fight and because it became the main event it could be an outstanding fight my take Mackenzie Dern is a pure Wrestling chick while Marina Rodriguez is a good striker, this could be a great fight to watch if what style would prevail, a pure striker vs a wrestler I could say Marina's striking could be interrupted by takedowns from Dern but if Marina has a good takedown defense she could withstand every takedown Dern throws at her, but still I am waiting for some opinions for me to take my pick.

Both the fighters are very capable and Maria has got very good striking capability but I'd opt for Dern in this match.

Depending on the times, which I've yet to confirm I might not be able to catch some of the main card with the Fury Vs Wilder fight. This is probably the only time I've preferred a boxing fight over a UFC event, and the main reason for that isn't because I quite like Fury, but because I'm not really looking forward to this UFC event. I find the card quite weak, and while I'm sure there will be some decent fights in there, I think I'd rather watch the boxing with the crowd.

I will however try, and get some of my predictions out tomorrow or Saturday before it all kicks off. At the moment, I'm thinking that the Dern fight could go the distance, and with Dern at 7.00 for a decision win, that's quite appealing. I'll probably be going for that on the off chance that it makes the full rounds.

I agree with you that heavyweight boxing match is looking more interesting than this weekend UFC card but I will still try to watch main event and few other fights.
Main event is classical grappling vs striking event and that is something always interesting to watch, and I like both sports MMA and boxing, so I often watch both of them.

Dern surely got a good background in wrestling with her style Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and with her 7 submission wins I think she is capable of taking down the good at striking Marina Rodriguez, my take this I really like Marina Rodriguez style with her striking and she outstrikes Michelle Waterson that is how good of a striker she is, but for me, I really like a Khabib style of game, so my pick will be Mackenzie Dern.

Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane

I know this is just announced and it is for the UFC 270 but I am totally excited for this fight, who is not right? and this clash is for the heavyweight title unification and I know this is going to be interesting matchups, a clash of strength VS technique so they are both special in opposite ways, and I really like both fighters, the Power and despite his massive structure still have those speed Francis Ngannou has the path to power while Cyril Gane relies on technique, his fight IQ, and speed so this is really an interesting matchup for the Heavyweight division the two best Heavyweights will surely clash, and I can not really hide my excitement.

IMHO she could have won that fight had she taken the time to properly rest and heal after she gave birth + the baby is waking you up all night, you don't get adequate rest throughout the day and that's affecting your training recovery, focus is off while in the training camp, so on and so forth. That 'though' mentality has not place in profecional sports.

Well, we have our own opinion regarding why she has returned after giving birth, but I really think she really loves what she does, I think she knows her body very well if she can return or not to fight it is up to her and not the coaches or the people beside her, anyway I am just betting on the main event and just watch the other fights, but I will still look for the other fighters and see if there are potential ones that may be worthy to bet on, but for me, I really think Mackenzie Dern's wrestling will be superior against the striking of Marina Rodriguez, I think Dern will have many ways in giving Rodriguez a hard time and can pressure her with takedowns. my pick will be Mackenzie Dern will win by a Submission.

Rodriguez also had the tougher competition moving on up the rankings.  And her last match was vs Waterson who’s a slightly better wrestler than Dern imho.  I think Rodriguez defended Waterson’s TD attempts well.  I gotta watch that match again.

I think that submissions will outperform the huge strikes Marian Rodriguez will blow in Dern's body. Once Dern gets hold of Marina in a submission position, you can say that it's almost over.

Odds tell that Romanov is a favorite. I also think that he will win.

I still love that story when Mark Hunt had to lose weight to make the HW limit XD I think he said it was too much cheesecake . You only get those types of things in HW, and yeah, we can argue that that division is lacking quality fighters compared to the rest, but they still, at least in some aspect, have retained that old-school fighting vibe. You get a guy that looks like he's totally out of shape gasping for air after the first round love it.

I really like Michelle Waterson and after seeing how Rodriguez dominate that fight I really feel that Waterson might be over with UFC, but she hasn't announced her retirement yet but in my opinion, Mackenzie Dern has her specialty with her submission moves, I don't really like to say that Dern's Wrestling is better than Waterson, but I am seeing a different skill set than Waterson, I still believe in Mackenzie Dern, Right now in stake.com Dern has 1.56 Odds while Rodriguez has 2.65, Mackenzie Dern has the edge on the odds.

All fights start standing up, and on paper Rodriguez is much more skillful in stand up than Dern is, however, her takedown defense comes into question as she hasn't had more than 6 years of some type of grappling training, and with Dern being an ADCC veteran where there is an emphasis on wrestling, I could see her being able to take it to the ground, From there on its game over for Rodriguez. But thats all MMA mathz and I wouldn't bet my life on it. The most telling thing about Rodriguez is her fight with Carla Esparza.

Well, her fight with Esparza was really a wake-up call for her to train her takedown defense more, so I really don't know if Marina Rodriguez is eventually hardened that her defense with takedowns or not because if she really didn't her only way to win is to keep the distance between them and hope to aim her strikes accurately in taking down Dern's, she could try Izzy's method with fighters that are good at wrestling, Rodriguez really had a hard time and the pressure from Esparza have taken her by surprise, I would still go with Mckenzie Dern's to win against Rodriguez.

^  Esparza is a way better wrestler than Dern.  Yes Dern is a grappler but she’s mostly BJJ.  Dern has to take Rodriguez first before she can do her thing...  Which I admit, if Dern does take Rodriguez down, it’s over.  But if she doesn’t, watch Rodriguez tee off on Dern’s face.  And I think the latter is more likely.

My bets thus far are Rodriguez, Elliott and Corales.  All dogs, follow at your own risk.  I’m more a degenerate than a sharp.

If Mackenzie Dern wins this fight she might get the title opportunity but she needs to improve her wrestling skills.

I think Marina Rodriguez has enough skill to avoid the submission. Dern might be able to put enough pressure and danger that she keeps Marina Rodriguez to the ground but I do not see her finishing her with a submission. I think it will be a knock out by Marina Rodriguez or Dern might be able to take her down enough to get a decision win I do not see Dern finishing this fight. Going the distance might be a good bet but I am going for the TKO by Marina. I think most people betting on Mackenzie are swayed by her good looks instead of her fighting ability in this fight. I say Marina Rodriguez wins this fight easily and will avoid the take downs of Mackenzie Dern and then Dern will find it very hard to survive with Marina Rodriguez throwing big punches at her.
