Has anyone noticed though, that weight misses were much more prominent during the highs of Covid? I haven't looked at the statistics to verify that, but I'm pretty sure that we are getting less than we were a few months ago. I'm wondering whether unreported Covid19 cases during camps contributed to it.

I'm also going for Aspen Ladd for those odds. I'm not sure why they are priced to highly? I wasn't expecting shorter odds in this fight.

One more day left for MMA weekend and after checking face-offs and some interviews I don't have much better idea for winners, so it's going to be coin fliping.

Here is my pick for the event Ariane Carnelossi, Danaa Batgerel, Ludovit Klein, Lupita Godinez even though she is a replacement because i was surprised with her submission skills in her most recent fight,  Ramazan Emeev, Bruno Silva, Julian Marquez, Mayra Bueno Silva, Jim Miller, Carlos Felipe and Aspen Ladd .

I might go for a parlay with multiple combination and i might go with Bruno Silva and Julian Marquez, Lupita Godinez in a parlay.

Agreed, however as @tokeweed mentioned her weight was a problem when she tried to cheat her weigh in for her original fight vs. Macy Chiasson, according Miesha Tate. Is this uncle Dana’s move of creating another storyline for Miesha Tate vs. Aspen Ladd through his pet Miesha?



UFC bantamweight Aspen Ladd has had her share of weight-cutting struggles throughout her four-year UFC run. The latest issue took place this past weekend prior to her scheduled UFC Vegas 38 bout against Macy Chiasson.

The following day, Miesha Tate reacted to Ladd’s statement. Needless to say, the former bantamweight champion did not give her peer a pass for missing weight. In fact, she believes there was a visible element of deception at play from the 26-year-old.

“It’s one thing to miss weight, it’s another thing to try and cheat the scale and use every excuse in the book to not weigh in properly. Everyone saw you cheat and still came in a lb over. I bet you were every bit of 139,” Tate’s tweet reads.

I haven't noticed it as well, and if there are records on how many have missed weight this year, but when you google it you will surely notice that there are really many fighters that have miss weight during weigh-in's

I really think Aspen Ladd is a good choice as well, being the most experienced fighter than Norma Dumont and have good takedowns and wrestling as well, it is sure prominent to bet for Aspen Ladd, but I will go with Norma Dumont, just to be on the risk side, and I am feeling kind of lucky for this, and for that extra sum because of the odds, and in the preliminary card I will go with Lupita Godinez, now that is one girl first time to fight 7 days apart prior to her previews fight.

^  At 145, no Ladd won’t have any issues but at 135, she has had issues.  She also had a hard time standing up on the scale by herself in that match vs GDR.  She’s a big girl so she should prolly either get a nutritionist or just fight at 145 where she can make weight without issues.

So my final my picks are Andrew Sanchez at 2.36 rn and Arlovski at 1.91.  I have a funny feeling Landwehr at 3.90 will make it close.  But it feels iffy..  I’ll decide in a couple of hours.  Lol.

If she has some issue with getting down at 135, maybe you are right a nutritionist would surely help, but I doubt that a well-known fighter like Aspen Ladd would not have a team to guide him in everything that she does, but if there is a chance that she doesn't have any then a good call for her in getting one,

Well, Andrew Sanchez typically adding up his game by adding up a new thing we can say that Sanchez is adding up some style From Karate to wrestling, but if he can mix that two up I think he can surely up his game even more just like George St Pierre, but he is still figuring that out and I think still finding his own style, well, my take here I am in favor with Bruno Silva actually if Sanchez would just rely on his wrestling I really think that he can not make a takedown against Silva, and Bruno Silva pretty much good at his striking and with a mix of a grappling and might KO Sanchez in this fight.

UFC prelims started early today so you can tune in now if you want, but I think that Stake is not broadcasting this event or at least this prelims, so you need to find other streams or pay per view.
I am waiting to watch co-main event Andrei Arlovski vs Carlos Felipe, but I will later switch to Bellator grand prix event that is starting soon, and I think they sometimes broadcast prelims for free on their youtube channel.

Surprised to see Andrei Arlovski still able to win against young fighters, i thought he had a glass chin and he would go down but he was able to fight through and win the decision.

Too early to start talking about the Sugar Show's upcoming fight?  I'm a fan of his knockouts and not sure he's got the overall fighting skills for a real long run in the UFC, but I'm having fun watching him win while it's going.  What do the real UFC fans think?  Does he have what it takes to win this next fight?  Seems like it was a bit of a setup for him to get a win to me, but I'm not all that familiar with the fighter.  It would be great (although unlikely) to see the Sugar Show and Paddy the Baddy go at it someday.  I hope they can both keep winning.

Haha, lol. But Carlos Felipe's "fats" is also protecting him like an armor. Those sidekicks of Arlovski are not that effective while Felipe just shakes it off. 
Felipe has that one shot lights out but at the end of 2nd round he is already breathing heavily and slowing down a bit. Landing a good blow will be difficult if you can't keep up with the speed of your opponent. 10 points differential, it's not that bad but if he have more stamina it could have been different.

Aspen Ladd vs. Norma Dumont

1st round was all calm and Dumont was keeping their distance with an accurate jab to the face of Ladd, and in this round, Aspen Ladd can not close the distance and many strikes from Dumont keeps on hitting Aspen Ladd's face, but yes Ladd is still conserving her energy as well, ready for the takedowns, But Dumont is making a lead with the Jabs, 2nd round still no luck for Aspen Ladd for her takedown and Dumont had defended Ladd's attempt, now Ladd's coaches are saying to keep up the pace in making a score because right now Dumont has 2 rounds on her, but I think that is not the real gameplay so Norma Dumont is controlling the fight with her jabs, again Aspen Ladd with no success with the takedowns, Ladd, is getting frustrated and her face was brutally hurt because of Dumonts jabs, I think Aspen Ladd is not ready with her debut in the featherweight division, she surely needs to be aggressive and needs to train the explosiveness on her takedown, at first I though that Norma Dumont was the one to go down a division but after realizing it that Aspen Ladd was the one to step on Dumont's territory I am pretty sure Ladd needs a full training and another shot in this division.

Lupita Godinez vs. Luana Carolina

I think Godinez isn't ready yet and needs rest in a while, Gudinez is struggling in taking down Luana Carolina, maybe she is just too tired or Carolina is pretty good with her takedown defense, but that was one terrible fight for Godinez, she should have rest for a while, and not a wise decision in taking Carolina in just under 7 days or 1 week, preparation, well I have lost my bet because of it.

May be Andrei Arlovski grew a bread to hide his chin as some of the fighters were landing it flush and he usually goes down and now with the cover of beard he was able to somehow survive some hard punches .

Andrew Sanchez really gas out but kudos to Bruno Silva for stopping Sanchez from progressing with his takedown and that bad low knee was a great time to just relax and rest, but hitting that part again, I know it is not Sanchez fault but with bad timing, that 1st round was all on low blow, but yes Sanchez is more on the wrestling side and may win if this ends with a decision, that many takedowns that Andrew Sanchez have performed, but yes, I agree Bruno Silva could really lose to a more stamina wrestler, then your bet should be on the wrestler.

He'll likely never be a champion in my eyes, however he'll definitely be one of the main talked about fighters, just because of his style, and personality. Though, he's probably expected to win the next fight, I wouldn't say he's been fed a easy opponent per say. The last fight you could have definitely made that point with Kris Moutinho, however that turned into a better fighter than most was expecting, at least by the determination of Kris.

I don't know what to make of Sean yet, he's an exciting striker, but we really haven't got to see him tested on the ground. In a pure stand up fight, I'd put money on him all day. Although, I'm still not convinced he's ready for a gunfight, if Kris Moutinho actually was landing back at a decent rate I think he wouldn't have liked it.

He has been somewhat spoon fed so far in my opinion, and I just want to see him in a real tough fight where it's actually competitive, then I'll make my decision on him. At the moment, I feel the hype behind him is talking more than his actual skills. No doubt, one of the better strikers in the game, but his overall skills haven't been tested.

The guy is just built like a brick shithouse. 42 yo and still actually making sense when fighting. And yes, HW fighters tend to have longer careers than lighter weights, but I always wonder how that many punches to the head will alter him over time. It may not at all, but time will tell if staying so long in the game was a good decision. He might not be sparing any more so maybe he as at least doing that to soften the blow (pun intended)

Or there are few heavyweights in UFC that can show an interesting fight and you can not make tops fight each other often, as they will get tired soon or injured.

I would not say that Arlovski is like a brick. Back in his prime, he often falls asleep after just 1 punch in the jaw. And again, age is nothing. I've already posted here, that Randy Couture became UFC heavyweight champ at the age of 43. Cant imagine Arlovski beating Ngannou or Gane.

But, a lot of respect to this guy!
