Very very interesting match. West indies proved that we shouldn't think so high of them. They still are struggling to put their things together. Lol a big gamble played by England and i don't know how were West Indies playing. But now the series becomes very interesting.

West Indies also proved that they are like a Pakistani team who can't win back to back matches or lost a match/series which they could have easily won. Even the rain cannot stop West Indies from losing. Although i did not bet on any team, but i am sad on this West Indies loss today.  Sad

if you look at the test ranking team list, England is number 4 and their rating is 105 and west indies is number 8, their rating is 79. on their other hand, England's test gameplay is much better than west indies. yet England lost the first test because not all of England's player were on the team because of coronavirus or personal issue. their team was not stable. Now they are stable, and hope as well as today's match they will win the last one too.

England have bounced back strong in the series and now it sets it up for a exciting third test match and the decider. All the momentum is with England now as once again the WI failed to with stand the pressure while trying to draw the match. A lot of sportsbooks sucked many people into taking the draw option but as we have seen even with 1 day washed out there can still be an out come in the match and I think that is mainly due to T20 as teams are more attacking now days when it comes to batting. If this was played in the 90's I think it would of been a draw as the game was a lot slow scoring back then and also we don't see many draws now days due to quick scoring so in my opinion draws are a big risk even when there has been a day lost due to rain.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

The outcome of the second test match proved that England can thrash the West Indians, if they do away with the complacency. They lost the first match due to their own arrogance and complacence. They could have won the series 3-0 and got a chance to promote themselves in the ICC Test Championship. But they wasted that opportunity and for now they will remain at the 4th place, behind Australia, New Zealand and India.

England was in command yesterday and they did right thing to send Stokes up as opener because he was in form and can make quick runs which actually helped the England team to make quick runs and declare their innings. It was a crucial decision that might have changed the game for England. But overall it was an exciting game of cricket and test match too can be fun to watch just like T20. So, thriller of the series could be the 3rd test match as both team now 1-1.

That was the most logical thing to do. But I was surprised at the ease with which Stokes scored his runs. He made 78 runs from just 57 balls, at a strike rate of 136.84. It is like having a strike rate of 270 in a T20 match. The West Indians tried their best, by bowling consecutive wides/bouncers and keeping Joe Root on strike. But despite all that, Stokes managed to score close to 10 runs per over. He almost singlehandedly propelled England to a win, in a match that could have ended up as a draw under normal circumstances.

After losing first test of series they was on target and they done good job as they plan for this all which all gone in their favour its really perfect win for them and Stokes was really on full for home team becasue without this person this was not easy for them to win this match and level series now we are heading for third and final test which is starting from Saturday hopefully this could be also interested as we have first two tests of this series.

Ben Stokes missed a crucial catch in the first match which could have helped England win the game and he settled the score in the second one by scoring a big ton in the first innings and the quick fire innings in the second innings was crucial for taking the target above 300 in a short period of time, watched some of the highlights and both West Indies and England missed some catches in this match too which is terrible and majority are easy chances.

Before this test series Ben Stokes was behind Jason Holder, gap between both players was big. But now after 2 games, he's leading the point table as No 1 all rounder + No 3 rank Batsman in the world.

So, the final test will be the deciders as both teams have won one-one match each. Both are well positioned and it will be interesting to see how they perform. I think England might win the last test as they play very well in the second test.

Woah. As far as I think All rounder ratings are calculated out of 500? Isn't it ? so basically. He is having 497 point out of 500 which actually is pretty huge. I think he might be the first all rounder so far in test who has reached this feat. Unfortunately icc Don't show historical ratings for all-rounders so I am not able to find if he is the only one or not but closest to him i can see Ashwin who reached 492 points once.

For All rounders its works like that, Pick their points from Batting + Bowling table and multiply them together then divide by 1000.

Ben Stokes points and rank in Test
Ranks 3 in the Test batting = 827 points
Ranks 23 in the Test bowling = 602 points

827*602 = 497854 / 1000 = 497.85 points

Yeah not much info about All rounders history but for batting and bowling its all there, we can calculate for specific players if required.

I thought they could score 1 more run but they are all out for 198
It was stressful for those who had a bet on over/under 199.5 market LOL but lucky me that I had no risk on England to win.

If individual player is the criteria then they have Jason holder, number 1 all-rounder in the Test format and he's leading the team as well Grin. Stokes sitting at 2nd spot and gap between them is wide. Stokey got famous but don't underestimate the Holder.
I missed this response. Well, I told you guys that England has Stokesy. I checked the series top scorer, and he is leading in both.

Where did you get the formula, can you share an authentic source of this calculation? I have tried google this but got none although the calculation you shared seems to be perfect.

Will it be too early to consider him the man of the series? I hope it is but it also will be rare if he do not perform in the final Test, at-least a 50 and two wickets.

With batting average of 114 and a bowling average of 16 there is no other contender for the man of the series other than Ben Stokes and even if he did not perform well with the bat in the final test he will be winning it as he will pick up atleast a couple of wickets in the entire match and Ben Stokes have become a rare fast bowling all rounder in the modern era as i could not think of another player of that caliber in any team.

Yeah I just discovered this. This means that All rounders are rated out of 1000 too. But it's almost impossible for some all rounder to reach the 900 mark because you need to have Batting and bowling ratings of 950+. So then I found highest ratings of a few top all rounder so far. Ben Stokes isn't the best until yet here is the list of others:

These are a few who came to my mind. Looks like no one could beat garry sobers

He is top contender for Man of the series, unless Gabriel take 10+ wickets in winning cause but i think Stokes going to get there easily, frankly he's doing everything right for quite some time so i would be surprise if he fails in the next game.

Garry Sobers batting stats are ridiculously good. If Ben Stokes wants to surpass him in near future then he needs to work on his bowling. Considering his recent bowling rank (23th), i would say real hard work and if continue his batting form for the next 2 years then there is a good chance.

Being a All-rounder is tough job indeed, that's why we don't see many top-notch all rounders in intl cricket.

Great list indeed. I consider Kallis ahead of the rest of them even though the statistics put him behind a couple of them considering the fact that he played in recent times when Cricket as a sport got more competitive.

Surpassing Sobers is way too tough even for Stokes. I have always considered him a great batsman, but a decent bowler. Even someone like Kallis couldn't surpass Sobers who I consider the best all-rounder of all time(Disregarding the statistics).
