So the rumors before is really true. Terrence Romeo declined offer from Japan B.League team. Here's whyLONG before Kiefer Ravena got a Japanse B. League team's attention, San Miguel star Terrence Romeo was given a more lucrative offer.
A source told SPIN.ph that the flamboyant PBA star guard received a US$2.7-million contract spread over three years by one of the B.League teams.
Romeo declined, even if the offer is way more than what he receives in the PBA, where the maximum salary for players is P420,000 ($8,400) a month, excluding bonuses and other perks.
Breaking down the offer, Romeo, sources said, was supposed to receive $50,000 a month on the first year of the contract, $75,000 in the second and $100,000 in the third year.
Why did he pass up the offer?
Read the article for more information. So Romeo as one of the best players in the Philippines decline the offer, well, he is already playing in a good team, he won championship and has become a finals MVP, I think he has already found his home.

Maybe becuase that time he just got married and he's first born was on it's way to see the world, or he's contented with the money that he currently have. But who knows, that amount of money is really something and if I remember it right, not just Terrence but also Calvin also got that same chance but he also choose to stay and play inside PBA. Now, both players have good stand playing with well known franchise that surely gives them the perks that they'll really enjoy.

PBA is looking for an opening this month. PBA presentation aims to get IATF nod on July season openingIt's very timely, the fun will never stop because the moment the NBA Finals is over, we still have the PBA Season to follow. Hopefully, everything will be okay and the PBA will get approval from the IATF on their plans. If everything went smoothly then expect that the new season will start this month, we are all waiting for this and yes NBA only got 7 games, only if both teams will try to pushed and extend the series. The timing will bring good entertainment to all basketball fans, after NBA and FIBA, PBA will bring back the excitement. Can't wait to see how those trades will work from those different teams who acquired new players and stars to their squads!

Now we see those known players that it's not just about the money but there's a strong connection between him, his team, and the boss. In the article, he said that he owes a lot to their boss, RSA. This means that there are still players that won't leave what the team has treated well. Salute to Terrence for having that mindset and gratitude.

If he leaves, fans would not love it as Romeo is just fascinating to watch, because of him, the Philippines were recognized in the previous FIBA World Cup tournament, and seeing one of our favorite players playing abroad instead of entertaining us here is not good, so for sure SMB would not allow him and will give him the salary he needs just to stay with the team.

Can't wait to see how those trades will work from those different teams who acquired new players and stars to their squads!
Just to mention a few notable signs that happened this off-season; actor and rookie, Andre Paras to Blackwater, Calvin Abueva to Magnolia, Christian Standhardinger to Ginebra, Gregg Slaughter to Northport, CJ Perez to SMB, etc. It's been a long period of just resting and few practices that these players do so time now for the real action. We can now see the answer of "who wins the trades"

Stand healthy this coming season, but I would also consider the Magnolia hotshots as they are a solid team, and getting Calvin is a big boost to their defense and offense, they are my 2nd favorite to win the title this season.

If SMB will be successful in convincing the commissioner's office of this trade scenario then time to castigate Comm. Marcial for the lopsided trade and not allowing Ravena to go to Japan .

I heard about Robert Bollick rumor but not on Greg. I think it's not good to have Greg in the SMB lineup as they still have JMF, both are high paid players and I believe that would already be over the salary cap if they are still implementing it, also, it does not give a good image to the PBA as they are making one team a super team while majority of the teams are bad teams.

I agree because, for the sake of real entertainment, other teams have to be exciting to watch as well. If SMB will acquire Greg which they can, that would make Northport a bad team. both are high paid players and I believe that would already be over the salary cap if they are still implementing it, also, it does not give a good image to the PBA as they are making one team a super team while majority of the teams are bad teams.
I doubt the salary cap is still followed, I guess one of the PBA personalities had already tackled that before, and I have a feeling that the board can't do anything about it as they are controlled by the team owners of the PBA, most particularly the SMB and TNT which are the big teams.

Just minutes after I posted that SMB is very interested in Slaughter and Bolick, below rumors (as they are not official) pop up on my social media news feed. I'm an SMB fan but seeing these two gentle giants playing in one team seems to be a joke for me as we all know that "height is might" in the PBA. Even if you are not that talented but you are a 7-footer, you've got a place in the PBA.

Knowing the capability of the SMB group of companies in acquiring their target players, they always got it no matter what. I can't remember a time that SMB was being declined or vetoed by the PBA for their trade proposal. I'm expecting too that surprised trade isn't done yet on the league and we will see a few of it while PBA is ongoing.

Has anyone seen this news? it's also another news from B League that we've got another representative to play with one team there and it's Javi Gomez de Liano. I'm not really familiar with him but I've seen this news and that makes me feel happy that B League seems to scout a lot of players from our country. ( https://mb.com.ph/2021/07/05/javi-gomez-de-liano-joins-brother-juan-in-japan-b-league/) it does not give a good image to the PBA as they are making one team a super team while majority of the teams are bad teams.
This is nothing new with PBA. We've seen super teams that are being allowed by the league and I think if there are other teams that would do it, they would be glad to allow it. We're just seeing the same teams again and again to have such good talents.

What's happening to the PBA?
There's a lot of news now that some great players are going to Japan's B League.
Can the PBA stop their players from taking this kind of opportunity? Sure, Kiefer Ravena is not happy with some players getting signed while he stays with the PBA because they did not allow him.

We saw what's happening and that is good for our basketball players with good talent as they are valuable in other countries. There's no reason to play with the PBA or any league in the Philipines if they get good offers, and no only that, they'll also improve their skills as there's greater competition abroad.

But it's not good for the future of the PBA, this league will be boring and if we compare it in the past, the current PBA league is not as good in the past as we have a lot of loyal fans, and we see that by the number of fans in the arena. This time is different, it looks like there's a manipulation inside and it's always been the biggest team who wins the title.

We already know how things turned after this movement, more fans are no longer interested to watch since they already know which team/s will win the title. Just the same, the league are being control by both Pangilinan and Cojuangco, those other franchise that's not own by this two known personalities are just an accessories. Super teams against another and the crown will just added to the same groups of companies.

What would this league look like if this trade will take place? CStan jump to BGSM, Abueva went to Hotshots and now Gregzilla and Bolic to SMB. very possible to happen, more fans to stop watching and supporting this league.

I mean what are their chances, they'll only be a farm team and rumors could be true. Though we are disappointed, it is what it is, this is how the PBA works, it's influence by the rich teams and nothing could stop their greediness as this is probably their own league.

And just like now, they probably have been getting the thoughts of their fans that they're no longer the same as before and they need to make a lot of changes. I think that has led them with the new policies that have been released lately including the max salary cap for the rookies and other changes that they've made. But that's not enough as per the demand of the fans. AFAIK, there's one guy that has expressed his thoughts about how the league became scripted and they choose who's going to win the finals per season.
