In case this wasn't a rhetorical question. It is a manufacturing and maintainability aid. It allows things to be assembled and/or repaired by the folks that have no understanding of electronics. It is a typical requirement for military designs where the maintainer may be a soldier who explicitly is not supposed to know how and why his electronics work.

No problem. By the way, with those voltage settings, I'm getting 1.23TH/s steady for the past 24 hours. The ASIC Stats page shows it's using 929 watts. Temps are 21 in front and 71 in back. Oh, and it doesn't sound like I've got a small jet trying to take off in my basement now, either. So, I lose about 100GH/s from the "turbo" settings, but I gain not having the little lady complaining about that damn thing screeching like a banshee. You can turn up the voltage a little-bit and aim at ~80C at the back. 71 in the back is cold (still on holiday) Thanks for the advice! I'll try playing around with the voltages to see if I can get things to warm up a bit I took a look at your over clocking guide for the "slow corner" and have entered those values... let's see where that brings it. Doing anything fun for your well-deserved holiday? So I played around some with the voltages and ended up with the following: Start voltage: 0.66 Max voltage: 0.73 Max Power: 1260 DC2DC Current Limit: 63 Fan: 40 This gets me: Temp front - 23 Temp rear - 79 AC2DC power - 1100 Hash rate - 1.32 TH/s Are there any other suggestions for possibly squeezing some more hashing out of this rig? I know there's more room, but am I running into the power constraints of my 120V/15A circuit? Technically, that circuit can provide 1440 watts continuously, so I could potentially get another 300 watts out of it. Any suggestions on what to further tweak?

I'm sure it gets hot enough to fry an egg. The last time I moved my SP10, I was surprised that touching the back of the unit still burned my hand after the unit had been powered off for 5 minutes. The back of the SP10 gets much hotter than the front of the unit. Normal temps for the back of the unit are between 75 and 80C (165-176F).

Well, if the stats aren't lying it's 1100 watts. Late May purchase through RoadStress' group buy. Running it on the default "low" settings, I get about 1.23TH/s at about 900W. So, I effectively gained about 90GH/s for 200 watts - which is why I'm asking if there are some better ways to tweak things. I'm hoping to pull about 1.4 - 1.45TH/s at 1100 watts.

So, I effectively gained about 90GH/s for 200 watts - which is why I'm asking if there are some better ways to tweak things. I'm hoping to pull about 1.4 - 1.45TH/s at 1100 watts. power supplies are more efficient on 200V or higher - thats why 1100W is the limit of 120V but 208/240V can provide 1250W. This extra 150W is needed to clear the gap between ~1.3Th and 1.4TH. even then 1.45TH+ is likely not achievable without setting fans to 80%+ and/or using a cold intake temperature

I get: Socket voltage: 227 volt Temp Front: 24C Temp Back: 71C Mining Rate: 1.46Ths
So I assume you need to be on 220-240V to get more.

You don´t need to target 80°C at back, you will also not be able to achieve it when you have fans on 90% (unless your intake is way high). It seems logical that a higher hashrate can be reached on a 230V circuit, as the PSU will be more efficient and supplying more power.

You don´t need to target 80°C at back, you will also not be able to achieve it when you have fans on 90% (unless your intake is way high). It seems logical that a higher hashrate can be reached on a 230V circuit, as the PSU will be more efficient and supplying more power. 80C back is the max, not the goal. The lower your temperature - the lower your ASIC leakage, DC2DC more effective etc`.

ah, that explains why there is an extra 200TH/s just dropped onto eclipsemc. blocks being cracked thick and fast. I know most will prefer not to use it but if you run your workers on DGM, it's 0% fees.
