Yup.

Hope you at least have one or two screws going from rig to wall.  If not, I'd suggest emptying out your recycle bin to make room for the rig.  The power supply balancing act won't last long....

It looks like that arrangement is OUTside of your house, is it? I see an outswing door and a concrete step, as well as siding material.

This is my recently reconfigured rack of 5830s.  When I'm done with the others, I'll post them as well.

It looks to me like it's an "old" 16.6V (or whatever it was) with the yellow plug. So it might still be IBM, not lenovo Wink

Yup, its outside. Why pay to pump the heat out of my house (air conditioning) when I can let mother nature do it for me? Been like that for at least 8 months with no significant problems.

No rain?
Or just sheltered some other way? It looks precarious, but if it has worked that long there isn't any reason to change it.

Yeah, we got a carport. and the sides of it are closed off with weather-proof tarp, so its mostly shielded from the elements (wind/rain/snow/etc)

The bottom rig can slide out if I need to take it inside for maintenance, but otherwise it is tightly secured. The top one -could- be knocked over if someone really wanted to, but I'm really the only person that ever uses that entrance.

I admire the gonads it takes to leave computer hardware running outside, 24/7, even if it is under a shelter.

I'd be worried about:
- Hurricane-force rains
- High humidity
- Theft
- Nature's beasts (cats, etc)

But hey, if it works, it works!

I've always wanted to trying burying a computer underground, turned on and idling, just to see how long it would last.

I had my miner outside for close to a full year in heavy rain, storm, snow, hail (in a wooden box).

humidity is not an issue, because the inside of the case is usually warmer than the outside, so no condensation will occur. I was a little worried on the seldom occasion I had to switch it off.

Actually the only thing that ever visible got into the case was some very fine pollen Wink.
