This is not a good idea. One of the main reasons is opinions vary from one user to another.
1002  Other / Meta / Re: How does one get into default trust on: June 27, 2015, 04:10:01 PM
Accurate judgement and trustworthiness will get you into default trust list. People who go for default trust list are less likely to get into it than people who don't.

DefaultTrust is a user created by theymos, on trust depth 0.  The people on trust depth 1 are the people that are on DefaultTrust's (theymos's) trust list.  They were added to start the trust network, I believe, or something like that.  To get into depth 1, you would have to be on DefaultTrust's trust list.

Theymos has different trust list. DefaultTrust's trust list and theymos's trust list are different. Also, DefaultTrust's trust list and default trust list are different.

DefaultTrust's trust list is trust list of the admin-controlled account 'DefaultTrust'.
Default trust list is the trust list a user have until they change it. A default trust list consists of people in DefaultTrust's trust list, the people trusted by them and the user itself.
1003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin address starting with 3 on: June 27, 2015, 04:03:58 PM
Nope. You can even create 1-of-2 multisig address and you can also create 1-of-3, 2-of-3 and 3-of-3. What you said is only about 3-of-3. In 2-of-3, for example, only 2 signatures are required to spend Bitcoin associated with it.
I see. Apologies for the incorrect information and thank you for correcting me.

Anytime.

Basically, you can create m-of-n multisig addresses, where n is less than or equal to 20 and m is less than or equal to n. To spend from a m-of-n multisig address, you need at least m out of n signature(s). To know more about the limitations of n, see http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/23893/what-are-the-limits-of-m-and-n-in-m-of-n-multisig-addresses.

Note that above detail is about raw multisig address, for P2SH multisig address, values are different. See above link to know more about it.

In Bitcoin-Qt, open the debug console and enter:
Code:
createmultisig 1 '["full public key or address in your wallet"]'

It'll give you a "multisig" P2SH address starting with 3 (but requiring only one signature). If you have the private key for the given public key, you'll be able to spend transactions sent to this address, but only using the raw transactions API currently. (You probably want to use addmultisigaddress instead of createmultisig if you're actually going to use the address.)

This is regarding Bitcoin core. If you want to test these, I suggest you to use testnet mode to avoid loosing your Bitcoins.

Once you create a multisig address, you can add that address to 'Receiving addresses' list in Bitcoin core by running below command in console.

Code:
importaddress address label

Example:

Code:
importaddress 3P8qYRHmoybU93bJN9oi1us9XMgYWRV39S BITX
1004  Other / New forum software / Re: Certified/signed private messages on: June 27, 2015, 03:47:48 PM
I like this idea.

-snip-
Under request anyone can acquire the signature of a sent or received PM to prove authenticity. The process would be 100% automatic.
 -snip-

I think a better way would be to have a button-like on every PM. Sender/receiver can click it and the signature associated with that message will be shown. The way you suggested, assuming it is automatic, may cause high server loads.
1005  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Trade with Caution: Use Escrow on: June 27, 2015, 03:43:12 PM
Humans are behind LBC and I think if there is any dispute, LBC support solves it. IMHO it is still better to use an escrow from this forum. An automated escrow system is always riskier than a human.
1006  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Palmyra presents a new twist: First Syrian city the group has taken from Government on: June 27, 2015, 03:27:54 PM
A user in this forum who is okay with ISIS' activities send me this link -- http://keabsahankhilafah.blogspot.com/. It is in Indonesian though. ATM I am in mobile. So I can't translate whole page in a go now. If someone is doing it and find anything interesting(negative or positive), please post here. Thank you!

In Palmyra and elsewhere they are destroying muslim heritage also. Local graveyard was razed to the ground, since in belief of this apocalyptic sect - graves ought to be unmarked. Same fate awaits any busts or paintings by muslims or shrines and temples of non-sunni muslims.

Yup... they have destroyed every single Shiite shrine in the territory which they control. This is what makes me suspicious. They are attacking Shiites, Yazidis, Christians.etc, but they are never attacking the Jews or Israel. What is the reason behind this?
 -snip-

Think politically and/or financially.
1007  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: June 27, 2015, 03:18:24 PM
For your kind information dear. Muslim pay  zakat while non muslim pay jizya. Islam is a religion of equality.

Muslims pay 1% or 2% of their earnings as zakat, and the poorer community members don't have to pay anything. On the other hand, the minorities often have to pay 20% of 30% of their earnings as jizya, irrespective of their income level (In Moorish Spain, the Jizya ranged from 33% to 80%, depending on the region, while zakat was less than 5%).

That's pretty sad TBH. Islam does not tell to charge an amount like this but what they can afford. If they milk like this, the milk will soon finish.

?
This is your opinion. Those who live in muslim majority countries ask them , they are free to perform their activities or not...??  Our Prophet SAW said love every human. whether he/she is muslim or not. By the way whtas your religion?? If you dnt mind?

Wilikon and Spendulus are atheists.

That is news to me...

Did I say something wrong? I mean you are an atheist, right?

Well, I hear you, M.Z. (re sometimes firmware updates maybe being necessary), but I would think that some companies could design and make a cheap & reliable hardware wallet that would never require any updates.

OK, I do not program, but would it not be possible to design a device and write bulletproof software for a simple device?

Simple, reliable, tough & cheap: is that too much to ask?  Smiley

What is now 'bulletproof' may not be a 'bulletproof' tomorrow. Smiley
1009  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: advantages of hardware wallet. on: June 27, 2015, 03:08:18 PM
Hardware wallets store private keys inside it and those private keys won't be exposed to internet or computers when signing transaction and/or whem broadcasting it. This will reduce the chance of loosing your Bitcoins.
1010  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin address starting with 3 on: June 27, 2015, 03:01:42 PM
It requires 3 keys to create and requires those three signatures to agree to any funds being sent from that address.

Nope. You can even create 1-of-2 multisig address and you can also create 1-of-3, 2-of-3 and 3-of-3. What you said is only about 3-of-3. In 2-of-3, for example, only 2 signatures are required to spend Bitcoin associated with it.

[size=14pt][b]Bitcointalk Escrows[/b][/size]

It seems as if there is no thread with a clear list of all the active escrows on bitcointalk that is regularly updated with relevant information.

Only members with announcements threads will be listed in their suitable category.

Have a suggestion or update? PM me or post here!

[b]Some tips:[/b]
- The escrows in the follow list are to be used carefully.
- Always do your own research before trusting any escrow.
- The 'BIG 5' will be the most trustworthy, but at all times ensure you are talking to the right person and if possible, verify their PGP signature.

 - Corrected devthedev's fee.
 - Removed Maidak.
 - Changed 'The Big 5' to 'The Big 4'.
 - Changed cooldgamer's service status to closed.
 - Added SebastianJu.
 - Added defcon23.

* Sorry if there is any mistakes.

@Marco: When you copy-paste this to OP(if you are doing it), please correct the code tags at the end.

I think we can move escrow.ms or SebastianJu to 'The Big 5'. What do you think?

* Edited.

First of all if i did scam, i wont ever return. I never scammed someone.
I need my account.. Please.

PM theymos and/or Badbear. Follow https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0.

You may get your account back but I don't think those negative trust feedbacks will be removed.
1015  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows [Updated Daily] Trade Safely! on: June 27, 2015, 01:15:02 PM
Marco i think you should remove cooldgamer from the big 5 escrow

because in his personal message say "No longer escrowing for now " and he has a negative trust " Huh: -1 / +15"

The red score you see is because pf Luke-Jr's feedback. He does not deserve red score IMHO. As he doesn't provide his service anymore, he should be removed.
1016  Other / Meta / Re: Account Got Hacked on: June 27, 2015, 01:09:41 PM
Mate, I seriously lost it.. I need my account. Anyone help me please?

You need to prove it.

How was it hacked, anyway?
How do you propose he prove it?

I know it is not an easy way but there must be something wrong on his side which made this hack possible and if he can find that and post it here. We might be able to believe him but his posts like these(Undecided):

I didn't used my Computer for 3 months.. Mate.. I never knew my account was hacked.
I yesterday got to know that. :/

he has already made a pgp signed message

Anybody can do this. Scam* a user, claim account was hacked and provide a signed message. Do you think a signed message actually prove the account was hacked? NO! But it can prove the person who posted it is the owner of that account.
1017  Other / Meta / Re: Account Got Hacked on: June 27, 2015, 10:48:14 AM
Mate, I seriously lost it.. I need my account. Anyone help me please?

I don't know the guy and im not supporting him but I don't get it , how it's not enough proof , isn't people using unedited posts with their adresses to proove they own the accounts + signing msg which he did ?? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=768223.msg9507902#msg9507902
like everyone is doing on "Stake your adress here" thread , isn't that enough ?

I meant "prove it was hacked". This hack can be faked so that the negative feedback will be removed. Usually, negative feedback won't be removed but if he really can prove it was hacked, there is a chance for removal of feedback.

For recovering account, a signed message is enough.

The quickest and easiest way is to sell them on localbitcoins see

https://localbitcoins.com/instant-bitcoins/?quick-action=sell&quick-amount=&quick-currency=GBP&quick-online_provider=NATIONAL_BANK&quick-country_code=GB&find-offers=

Create an account send the bitcoins to your wallet on LBC and then open an offer using the above link and they will transfer the GBP to your account usually in 5 minutes or less.

LocalBitcoins.com price/BTC is very high. I could never find reasonable rates on LBC.
