1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 18, 2023, 08:29:03 PM
^
If there are any boxers approaching the two billionaires, it will more likely be about representing them in a fight which the 2 billionaires will be happy to host and make money out of these boxers. And what is at stake is probably what the billionaires are going to discuss.

Assuming the two really agreed to fight, I don't see a point for boxers opposing the fight to happen when we have seen influencers and onlyfans girls fighting. But the physicians of Zucker and Elon will probably find an excuse for both not to fight just like Elon undergoing surgery.

Maybe Zuckerberg is serious about his newfound urge of getting into the ring to test his skills. But this nerd billionaire was late to realize that he was only trolled or being tripped by Elon Musk. And we know Elon is also good at trolling and making some stuff that can trend online.

Seriously though if people are following Zuck, Elon, and the fighting community and its media; Zuck is constantly training for over a year or even earlier. So it doesn't make sense for Musk to make the challenge serious other than getting attention once again. And greedy Dana White thought he can set the fight thru his UFC. Cheesy
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you will do? on: August 18, 2023, 07:59:20 PM
I picked lowering the amount to bet because it might mean that someone is betting an amount that hurts when someone keeps losing. For me this is the number 1 rule in gambling, bet only amounts you can afford to lose. There are no wrong answers in the choices so it is okay to try them all. I also did them all before. There is no harm in trying and experiencing them all if we felt bored or annoyed by the continuous losing streaks. After all, we all have different styles of gambling so maybe the other choices work for someone but not for other gamblers.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling discussion effect on: August 18, 2023, 07:37:42 PM
It could be normal especially if you just started gambling. Honestly, you don't have to be addicted if you are in control of yourself. Just continue to set time limits and budget limits as well. Set your priorities in life as well and you'll be fine.

In my case, I already gambled many years ago before I even started investing in crypto and joined signature campaigns so there is nothing worrisome. At the moment I am busier so I also have less time to gamble. I am mostly into sports betting nowadays and it is already part of my life but I know my limits of course. It's just that I find it more exciting to watch and follow my favorite sports if I have a bet small or big.
1084  Economy / Speculation / Re: take advantage of opportunities on: August 18, 2023, 07:17:49 PM
I'm kind of shocked when I saw the bitcoin price earlier. It was too early in the morning and I am supposed to sleep again but when I saw the prize on my phone I checked my portfolio right away. I had a $28,550 buy order but I am also supposed to have a $25,500 buy order and I thought there is no need to set an order since it might not happen easily. I only managed to buy at $26k+ since I did not catch the $25k level.

Congratulations to those quick enough to buy at the dippest price. Now that the price broke the trends we are still uncertain if it touches again at $25k but we better get ready to scoop some if it drops again.
1085  Other / Politics & Society / Re: National interests of Russia on: August 18, 2023, 07:00:10 PM
I get your point OP. But isn't also normal for the other superpower nations? I am referring to China and the US.
1086  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do You Think Military Intervention Is Needed In Republic? on: August 18, 2023, 06:52:11 PM
The military as well is not perfect and are also prone to corruption and other bias just like politicians so they should not exploit the weakness of a government and take advantage using its arms. So generally speaking they rather stay away from leadership struggles and issues. They were created to defend the republic and they are not specialized to decide which person should rule.
1087  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: August 18, 2023, 06:02:41 PM
You're a weirdo. Your topics are odd. So is there even a business that guarantees to be smooth sailing like there is no risk? You don't want to sell weeds so I assume you're not high either. So is there even a company that existed for 999 years without experiencing a change of ownership?

The most realistic business I can think of wherein you will possibly earn income right on the opening day is the food business. The food business has a huge margin of profit and it could be long-lasting if managed well including the ability to innovate over the years.
1088  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: August 17, 2023, 07:33:17 PM
If you don't have any experience on business field the. Start from scratch so you would provably know what are important things that needed to take care with in a business.

But if you are well established businessman and can able to plant some on existing business then its good since you don't need to worry on how to market it because they already have establish their own brand. Its up to you on how can you maximize your bought  businesses so that it can generate you more money.

Both have their own pros and cons. But for me, it is best for someone that has no experience in the business field to just franchise an existing business. Franchising will let its potential partners undergo several trainings to teach them everything on how to run the business successfully. And in an existing business, there are already existing systems as well that save a lot of time and effort. Imagine looking for suppliers that are a little cheaper and at the same time its quality remains good. The workers will also be trained by the franchising company. This way, newbie businessmen take a shortcut and might have ample time to continue their jobs or do other stuff.
1089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 17, 2023, 06:58:16 PM
I’m not sure I understand the point of the in-season tournament but I did just see a suggestion that the winner of the tournament get an automatic playoff berth. That’s interesting…

I’m more 76ers updates from Philadelphia, James Harden is now saying he’s open to play for a different team than just the Clippers. He wants out…

Unlike Dame, he really wanted to play on another team right now in the hope not to waste his skills for the 76ers I wonder what had happened there. I thought they were able to become good buddies with Embiid whom he taught one of his signature moves which is the stepback three. Now that they are having this fuss, that would not be the case anymore. I bet Embiid wouldn't have thought to have alike of Ben Simmon on their team so soon and also wanted to leave the team in a childish way as well. I hope the Philadelphia 76ers already have some plan for Harden after this statement.

I read before that there was a personal fallout between James Harden and Daryl Morey which needs both of them to go on separate ways. Now it is getting uglier as the saga continues.

I guess Joel Embiid has no issue with Harden. Embiid also showed hints of wanting out of Philly as well so it's like he is also not happy with the current team. Philly has a lot of stuff to do these days and they seem to be heading into a rebuilding process in case Embiid will put pressure for a way out. I began to wonder which team offers the best for an Embiid trade. Are we seeing another team with a trio or more superstars?
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 17, 2023, 06:08:04 PM
It seems that Oscar wanted to go to legal actions here:

Quote
The Hall of Fame former six-division titlist is prepared to take legal action to protect the rights of England’s Ohara Davies, the top-rated WBA junior welterweight contender who Golden Boy Promotions signed earlier this spring. Davies was named mandatory challenger to current titlist Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, for which a purse bid hearing was indefinitely postponed as the sanctioning body will review medical documents provided on July 21 by Romero’s team.

https://www.boxingscene.com/de-la-hoya-demands-answers-threatens-legal-action-enforce-romero-davies-wba-mandatory-title-fight--177011

He wanted to have his bod, Ohara Davies to fight current WBA 140 lbs champion in Rolly Romero. But it seems there is a delay from the governing body to issue a mandatory fight and Oscar is eager for the WBA to give it to them. It was ordered already that a fight is to be made and maybe this is the contention of Oscar that's why he goes on legal actions to forced WBA to commit to it.

He has the right, and I believe he knows himself well enough to expect a victory in this battle. Furthermore, there's money at stake in this championship fight. Not only that, if his fighter defeats Rolly, it will open up even bigger opportunities for them to maximize their earnings. So, if I understand it correctly, there's a delay in the fight; it's not completely canceled yet. Oscar's camp simply wants to ensure that the fight will happen by setting a specific date.

For a businessman like him, waiting for nothing is just a wasted opportunity, so he wants to enforce what is due to happen.

Good move by Golden Boy Promotions although it might create a bad blood with the corrupt WBA and it will avoid ranking any of GBP's fighters in the future. But if GBP won't take action, expect the WBA to delay or even drop Ohara later in its next ranking release. It is becoming common nowadays for sanctioning bodies to avoid enforcing mandatories when the contender and its champion came from rival giant networks; i.e., DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime.

At the moment, the bad blood between PBC and GBP continues especially after Ryan Garcia's (GBP) defeat at the hands of Tank Davis (PBC) where the boy also wanted out of his GBP promotional contract. Hopefully, the purse bid goes on and we will see who's got the deeper pocket between these promotions to promote the Romero-Davies fight.
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 17, 2023, 05:44:14 PM
What would you do if one day you won the lottery? What are you planning to buy and who do you want to include in your success?
I don't know what i would do if i won the lottery up to $600k, maybe i will consider and will hide house for a week, before getting any idea what the money is used for.

What is certain is that the first time I did the lottery money, called all my friends who were involved in gambling, of course I would give them $50k to share, it's up to them what they use it for, what is clear is that my friend who has gambled with me will feel the lottery winning money that I get.

Of course I also need to do other things, maybe I'll just take $ 300k, the remaining $ 300k I will donate to those who deserve it, that's what I do, if that happens to me.

Cool! You're very generous mate. Donating half of it and then giving $50k to your friends leaves you only $250k.

As for me who's striving to reach the dream of financial freedom, I might need most of the amount to purchase a piece of land in a metro city and then build an apartment on it. This way I will earn a decent amount of passive income monthly which I can share with some people in need including some of my friends and relatives. And I might keep my lottery win and real estate ownership a secret as much as possible.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: August 17, 2023, 05:24:30 PM
Here is the Los Angeles face-off between the two fighters, this is mega fight so it's going to be big fight,

So two undisputed boxers here, Charlo says that he will beat Canelo, so we will see. Hype has started already for this superfight.

I cannot wait for this fight to happen. I still believe that Canelo will return to his old beast form since he is more motivated to train harder against a fellow undisputed. Charlo may possess the skills and power that enabled him to become undisputed at 154 but he is moving up 2 divisions north. Canelo will be too big come fight night and he will continue to march forward to get a stoppage. And Jermell does not have enough power to make Canelo reluctant to come forward.

After this fight, Jermell said he will return to 154 and defend his remaining 3 belts against Terrence Crawford. Win or lose to Canelo I'm still doubtful about his plan of dropping back in weight. If he gets KO'd by Canelo then Bud will also demolish him at 154.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 17, 2023, 05:04:17 PM
So it's my first time buying Doge for a year or two hold or maybe even more. I'm just trying to take advantage of the current dip although there is no assurance that this won't stop going down. I also bought a fraction of bitcoin during this dip.

So at the moment I already have Syscoin, Eth, Bnb, Gala, Chainlink, and Doge. Bitcoin remains 50% to 70% of my crypto portfolio. But I am also starting to weigh in if I could add more altcoins in my portfolio as they have the highest chances of increasing in the next major bull run.
1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 16, 2023, 09:22:03 PM
If that fight will happen, I would surely bet towards Casimero and not Tapales because I believe he can do a good job against Inoue if both of them will be the ones who will face for the unification. Not to underestimate Tapales but I don't really think that he stand a chance against the moster, Naoya Inoue. Might be harsh though but that is the truth and people will be more interested on that instead of the match-up we have now.

This scenario could offer favorable odds, given that Casimero is the challenger. I'm confident that many will place their bets on Casimero, even though Tapales is the one defending his belt. It's quite an intriguing situation, one that might not have arisen if negotiations for a mega fight in the super bantamweight hadn't encountered issues. However, let's view this as a blessing in disguise for Casimero, as he's always desired to face Inoue. He likely realizes that becoming the champion could make arranging that fight with Inoue much easier.

Just imagine the potential headline: Casimero vs. Inoue – a more significant spectacle than Tapales vs. Inoue, especially considering that the former was relatively unknown before his significant upset win.

We'll see how the negotiations between Inoue and Tapales develop. I believe their undisputed fight is still very doable rather than both of them facing other names out there. If it is true that Inoue stays in this division and is not in a hurry to move up again then it might be Tapales that will be forced to accept the offer or he will face his mandatories which might be too risky with lower rewards.

Maybe they can also consider making the fight in the US which is better for Tapales as it is a neutral venue. Maybe Top Rank and ESPN can make better offers than making this fight in Japan again.
1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 16, 2023, 09:02:00 PM
All right, so here is the reason why Devin and his dad wanted to move the fight date earlier. For me, it makes sense to move the date otherwise they will go head-to-head against Tyson Fury's fight against Francis Ngannou. I mean this fight is the better match-up but most likely only for the boxing hard cores. But it is still a bitch move not consulting Regis Prograis especially since he is the defending champion. They can move the fight to a later date like a week or 2 after the Fury-Ngannou and not before that.

Super lightweight seems to be an easy weight especially for Haney who have fought so many great boxers in lightweight. I think Regis Prograis is currently the tough boxer in super lightweight, if Haney can beat him, technically he don't have any problem to beat Romero, Matias and Lopez. All of them haven't defended their belt at least for once, that's why I think they're not really strong.

The result of this fight should be Haney win via decision.

If only power is the only factor and measurement to be the best of super-lightweight division then Devin Haney wouldn't have any problems but he shouldn't forget that it will be a new weight for him and a new division as well, and while he's still adjusting to the weight, his opponents like Regis Prograis who is more comfortable at 140 will not show him mercy just because of that. Haney does have a chance, I'll give him that, but not as decent compared to the one whom he will face. And Teo Lopez? It turns out that he's just an underrated boxer who actually does have a chance to be one of the bad guys at 140 and let's not forget Josh Taylor, I think he can still bounce back.
I like that this division is becoming like 50/50 against each other since the fall of Josh Taylor as it makes the division more exciting. Although Teofimo Lopez is the lineal champ as he beat Taylor. But prior to Prograis' poor performance, I also pick him as the strongest in this division. But just like Emmanuel Navarette who looked beatable before he was picked by Oscar Valdez, Regis is well aware too of his poor performance and will train harder and do better by addressing those bad habits in his next fight with Haney. I hope this fight is not canceled yet especially since the contracts are already signed.
1096  Economy / Speculation / Re: Opportunity to buy on: August 16, 2023, 05:24:39 PM
If we pay attention to the price since the increase that occurred in March until now, it can be seen that the price has not fluctuated too much, so for almost 5 months there has been no significant movement, we as investors of course have to be able to read the opportunity that now is a good opportunity to buy more.

Bitcoin's movements are still torn between moving up or moving down in significant ways. But nonetheless, the coin has a slow movement, and headed by bitcoin, it is an opportunity to accumulate more. I am continuing my DCA although I wonder if the price of bitcoin will ever return to $25k again. For this month I haven't purchased yet but I already have a buy order at $28,500 which might become a bust if bitcoin all of a sudden increases its value to $35k above.

I already sold most of my holdings before that is why I am starting from scratch once again. So even at this current low price, it is hard to believe how bitcoin continues to grow its value over the years.

1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 11, 2023, 12:19:55 PM
Wow! I just noticed that there is a specific thread for this bout. This one is a fight-of-the-year match-up, no wonder some people are calling them to deliver a fight like what Barrera-Morales and Vasquez-Marquez did in the past.

I agree with the odds favoring Oscar Valdez as he is already accustomed to this division while Navarette is only making his second appearance. Navarette also showed that he is already beatable unlike when he was campaigning at 122 and 126. Valdez is also the more technical fighter so this may look like Valdez vs Berchelt.

But I am voting based on who I'd like to win. Grin I got Navarette stopping Valdez. I believe we haven't seen yet what this new champion can do in this division. He had a bad night in his last fight so he will enter this fight better. I believe he is the stronger guy so he will be the aggressor here. And I'm pretty sure they already know what happened to Miguel Berchelt against Valdez so Navarette will be a little smart with his aggression here and will finally catch Valdez in the mid to late rounds.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 11, 2023, 11:06:25 AM

I also though that when this fight was settled then there isn't any rematch but Jake Paul have said that he wants to fight Nate Diaz into MMA I was really shocked and think that this is the mistake that he have done in his career because Nate Diaz will surely Pulverize him in the MMA rules and with those small MMA gloves that they are using for sure Nate Diaz will be much comfortable and faster when they fight it's like taking of his hand cuffs when they fought in boxing that is how much constricting the gloves on boxing is,

For sure Nate Diaz will pulverize the crap out of Jake Paul sure when this MMA fight happened, and many fans surely want to see that, Well to see Nate Diaz beating the crap out of Jake Paul that Nate Diaz is not the dude to be a mess with because Boxing and MMA are two different sports and when it comes to MMA Nate Diaz is really good at it, and for sure Nate Diaz still has the chin, in making the fight go the distance,

Well not cool for me to see legends getting beaten by upcoming fighters that they could've easily beaten in their primes or in Nate's case in his preferred sport. I was actually thinking of betting on Paul even if I will never watch the fight but then I felt like there's a lot of pride in there for Nate to just take a dive. So I thought a possible hail mary punch could make an upset.

I don't know what's next for Jake Paul. Maybe he should accept the challenge from female boxer Claressa Shields. Cheesy I am pretty sure to watch it live if it happens. That girl will put a beating on the special child. Cheesy

Well, if that punch of Jake Paul could have a 1 punch power and because it is a Slim MMA glove they are using he could surely knock out Nate Diaz fast, so there surely has a chance for Jake Paul winning against Nate Diaz in the MMA, but I give him that, because that is a winning shot for Jake Paul because for sure he will struggle in learning and practicing wrestling and grappling for sure even his brother couldn't help him with this because Logan also lack some aspect with grappling,

And that's the fight that is not going to be taken seriously. Jake Paul can talk all he wants to market himself and fool the casuals like him beating Canelo and fighting Nate in MMA rules.

A lot of good fights this weekend. Looking forward to the war between Oscar Valdez and Emanuel Navarette. Navarette is already showing signs of vulnerability in his 3rd division but still hoping he can bring back his old form and beat Oscar Valdez. And on Anthony Joshua's undercard, we'll have another chance to see Usyk's IBF mandatory Filip Hrgovic taking on another undefeated fighter Demsey McKean.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 11, 2023, 10:06:43 AM
Wow! Some big drama show here. So from being friendly and hospitable to something different. The Haney's are working underground and are trying to change the signed schedule into something earlier and that's what made the champion Regis Prograis mad. I cannot believe Devin at this young age is already trying to lowball his opponent. And I am glad that Regis is standing his ground and is sharing this with the public.

So Devin Haney after becoming undisputed all of a sudden is trying to exploit and avoid riskier opponents as much as possible. First, he does not want to give Lomachenko his well-deserved rematch. Then he offered a laughable 25% PPV share on Shakur, his WBC mandatory. He said he wants to move up in weight at the same time hostage all the belts at 135. He wants to move up in weight but he doesn't want to fight the new lineal champion of 140, Teofimo Lopez. He wanted the WBC champion Regis Prograis after its very poor performance in the last fight. And Devin is not yet satisfied so he wanted Regis to not take a full rest from his previous 12-round fight and forced him to a schedule with less training time. I hope this kid gets clipped. Cheesy
