1841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin’s long-term investors own over 76% of all BTC for the first time on: October 25, 2023, 01:29:05 PM
This number will continue to rise for many reasons. The biggest two probably being that people tend to lose their private keys resulting in what looks like coins being held by long term investors, and also the rise in exchange traded funds will surely result in coins being taken off the market and held in cold storage on behalf of investors.
1842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 25, 2023, 01:27:15 PM
With the odds paying out so small for Tyson Fury, it’s hardly worth betting on. I think even with Tyson being the massive favorite and in my opinion will be the winner, betting on Francis Ngannou is a more attractive bet just because there’s at least the chance of a decent payout. This just doesn’t seem like a good event to bet on unless you’re pairing it with another bet.
1843  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: October 25, 2023, 01:24:43 PM
I always sort of thought that if you’re engaging in behavior that you want to keep a secret then you probably shouldn’t be engaging in that behavior. This is especially true with things like gambling. If it isn’t illegal and it isn’t a problem, why wouldn’t you want to share things you enjoy with the people that you care about? Seems suspect.
1844  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The rate of divorce in the society on: October 25, 2023, 12:48:25 PM
I think a lot of reasons are contributing to this. Sure, people are getting married much faster these days and sometimes for reasons like insurance that aren’t exactly love. Then there’s also the establishment that’s pushing a population control narrative trying to convince everyone they’re gay or trans. It’s an uphill battle for regular people these days.
1845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 25, 2023, 12:46:25 PM
I think the Denver vs Los Angeles game would’ve been a lot better of a game if the refs weren’t seemingly against LeBron. There were quite a few fouls that got overlooked and I’m sure there will be some complaints from the Lakers. I just don’t think the Lakers squad will be that good this year. It might be another will they won’t they make the playoffs sort of year.
1846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 25, 2023, 12:44:09 PM
I decided to toss up a little parlay to get some multi bet excitement going for tonight’s games. I got the Nuggets beating the Lakers and the Suns beating the Warriors. I think KD is going to come out like a man on a mission. Just to spruce things up a little bit more, I added in a Wilder win for this weekend’s boxing match up.

1 day into the new basketball season and so far I’ve predicted every game correctly and won my multi bet. Will I be able to keep the parlay streak alive for a second game? Probably not, but I’m here to try. With 12 NBA games scheduled for today, it will be a little more difficult, but for now I’m happy to be at 100% accuracy with my picks.
1847  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $BTC soar beyond 35K or dip below? 🚀📉 on: October 25, 2023, 01:06:17 AM
The next move? Probably down to be honest as profit taking takes hold. However, we are most definitely going to soar above $35,000 in the future and likely the very near future. I think the odds are better than not that we’ll see Bitcoin end the year in the $40,000 range and this recent price action only makes me feel better about that thought.
1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 25, 2023, 12:49:40 AM
First half ain’t looking so good for the Lakers. This is especially bad because in Denver opposing teams get tired fast so the Lakers have an uphill battle ahead of them. I think Anthony Davis is looking great on defense and LeBron looks pretty good, the rest of the team doesn’t seem to be playing very smart on offense though.

NBA basketball is on TV tonight! It’s back baby!
I was so excited, but when I read the article about Bradley Beal (back) being unlikely to play in the opener against the Warriors, as per Shams, my excitement disappeared and turned into disappointment. This is so disappointing because some fans might say that if Bradley Beal had played, the Suns would have surely won in case the Warriors won. Since Bradley Beal will not play tonight, I'm going to pick the Warriors.

I’m not sure the Suns need Bradley Beal to beat the Warriors. However, I also don’t think the Suns have had enough time playing together to be able to beat a team with as much history playing together as Golden State. I really don’t know which way to bet this one, but I’m leaning towards the Suns. The Denver/LA matchup is another tricky one, but I’m leaning Denver.

There are a lot of people who don’t know why Dwight Howard was all but blackballed from the NBA. His behavior around men in and outside the locker room is the answer. According to his recent lawsuit proceedings, Dwight Howard not only lured a man to his home for sex, but he also surprised him with another man expecting a threesome.

1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: October 24, 2023, 02:39:02 PM
Well, unfortunately I haven’t been able to get AI to flat out predict the winner of sporting events yet. Sure, there’s ways around it with nonsense, but I’d really like to get the AI’s genuine opinion of who the winner of a sporting event will be. I guess this is still a no-no in the world of AI, but I’m certain it’s only a matter of time.

NBA basketball is on TV tonight! It’s back baby! The offseason seemed like a flash with all the trades and team ups. Looks like the big outstanding question left over is the outcome of the James Harden situation. Seems like he might start the year off pouting and being missing from team activities. Not a good look for Harden or the NBA.
1854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 24, 2023, 01:20:17 PM
I’ve been too busy to really comment much lately and frankly things have been a bit boring in Bitcoin land. But damn! What a nice surprise. Massive pump, large page count increase, page parity, green candles, trains, helicopters, modems, and rusty pipes!

Seems like the exciting part of the bull market is back baby!
Yes, it looks very nice and exciting. And there will be more pumps in the future. Bitcoin will now go down a bit again (this is the rule). But some people cannot control their greed and now they will pounce on Bitcoin. Which will empty their pockets.

Be careful. Wait for good time.

Bitcoin’s price is holding up pretty well so far. I think people are trying to beat the ETF rally and are having a bit of fomo as a result. A pump this big isn’t just random. Somebody knows something and is scooping up a whole lot of coins. I think this type of rally will happen quite a few times over the next year or so. Be ready and hold on tight.

Just one more sleep until NBA basketball kicks off. I think with the Damian Lillard trade the Bucks became the team to beat in the East and I think the pickup of Bradley Beal makes the Suns the team to beat in the West. I think the Warriors will have another good year along with the Celtics and Nuggets, but I think the Bucks take home the crown this year.
1859  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War and conflict on: October 22, 2023, 07:44:15 PM
China just sent 6 warships to the Middle East, it really is getting worse and we may really be seeing an all-out war in the region. tension is running high. If I were from anywhere near that region, I would start moving out early morning tomorrow. Time to get ready I'd probably ride to Tibet. High ground  Grin

They chose war this time. The superpowers protecting their interest in that region and the citizens are dying.

From what I read the story of China’s warships is being misreported and the ships have been there for nearly half a year now. The fact we’re sending a warship to seemingly threaten them makes me think that China is ready to make its move to exploit the weak Joe Biden administration. This will (hopefully) be the final disaster of the Biden Presidency and I hope the loss of life is kept at a minimum.
1860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 22, 2023, 06:32:49 PM
I believe that not keeping records does make you a bad gambler, but not necessarily at gambling, but at recording your gains and losses for tax recording purposes. That could land you in some hot water with the law and I can assure you that they would consider you a bad gambler for not having the necessary information they need to verify your taxes.
