1861  Economy / Speculation / Re: Microstrategy buys again! on: November 16, 2023, 10:07:11 PM

I wonder if the approval of spot ETFs will have any negative effect on MSTR stock price. The demand for their stock will likely to drop, but the increase in BTC's price could compensate for that.

Interesting question because MSTR stock just keeps rising. It is seen as a proxy
Bitcoin investment for and by people who dont want to or cannot buy Bitcoin straight.

If a spot ETF gets approved there will likely be migration from Microstrategy to those
spot ETF's but then again if indeed the Bitcoin price rises wouldnt MSTR stock rise too?

So maybe there are investors who will likely leave ther stock in MSTR and just invest
more in say a Blackrock spot ETF...

I’m sure some retail investors will prefer to own the ETF instead of MSTR stock. However, a lot of people may actually prefer Microstrategy, just because they have a revenue source so the potential is there for your holdings to actually grow, while with an ETF your holdings will forever be dropping due to the fund management fees (even though they are small).
1862  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: November 16, 2023, 10:04:15 PM
^ I’m sure the bad press and instant reaction from people was enough for Tesla to change their tune in order to avoid damaging their brand. I’ve heard that other carmakers like Rivian have done the same thing in the past though. Admittedly, I’m only caring about myself when I have my opinion on the matter. Whatever Elon or Tesla does to scare away preorders ahead of me in line, I’m all for it. I hope reports come out saying the Cybertruck explodes when you unlock the door.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 16, 2023, 09:59:58 PM
The Lakers are “showing interest” in Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, & Alex Caruso. Basically, the Lakers are going to try all they can to get a win out of the Bulls need for a rebuild. With Anthony Davis having shown interest in going to Chicago, something big could be happening with this. Getting Zach LaVine and Caruso while dumping Anthony Davis would be a huge win for them in my book.
1864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Major League Baseball Discussion Thread on: November 16, 2023, 06:17:14 PM
I’ll admit that I’m not the biggest baseball fan, but it does seem odd that there isn’t more baseball discussion here. My interest is usually reserved for Spring Training as I live near quite a few stadiums. The Savanna Bananas are also gaining my attention…

I was shocked to hear the Oakland A’s are moving to Vegas though. Another blow for the Bay Area in my opinion.
1865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 16, 2023, 10:03:42 AM
If he is already rich enough, he may not need bitcoin, although I find your argument too simplistic and I would like to know your friend's level of 'rich'. Do you know approximately how much wealth he has?

Anyway, it is a bad idea to try to change people's minds on financial matters.

I disagree with your line of thinking. I think rich people may need Bitcoin the most, as it is an incredible store of value and when shit hits the fan rich people could end up with nothing like everyone else. Bitcoin is most valuable as an insurance policy, so it is arguably more important for rich people who want to maintain their living conditions than for “poor” people who may have more immediate concerns than investing for future wealth.
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to bitcoin price if Solar superstorm 'wipe out the internet'? on: November 16, 2023, 08:30:31 AM
Blockstream’s work to establish other forms of transmitting the blockchain like using radio frequencies (ai believe that was Blockstream but could be wrong) would finally be useful. I would imagine people would then focus on creating a mesh network with radio waves in order to keep Bitcoin operating. It would be seen by some as an opportunity to strengthen Bitcoin as well as make a ton of money selling suddenly needed hardware.
1867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 16, 2023, 07:41:58 AM
Looks like the NBA made the decision to suspend Draymond for 5 games for his choke on Rudy Gobert. Honestly, I was expecting at least a 6 game suspension, but the NBA is pretty lenient when it comes to fighting (in my opinion).
That's better than just 1 game. Well, no matter how many games the suspension will be for Dray, it's not going to matter anymore to him. He's always this aggressive and that's usual.

Draymond has a long history of this though, so I would’ve liked to have seen him get a little bit longer of a suspension.
Yeah, much better if it's tougher because he's known for brawls like this and his attitude toward these troubles. But then, if it's already decided then that's much better than having lesser suspension at all. Is there any fine that's going to be sanctioned to him? With these fights, usually they get higher sanctions and fines, right?

Is that true that James Harden wanted out of the Clippers in just 5 games? or is this a rumor?
It's said that it's for real but not until it's official, then it remains as a rumor. But you know with these locker room conversations, most of them are real.

I guess the penalty does seem a little bigger when you look at how much money he makes per game. According to Woj, Draymond Green is going to lose more than 3 quarters of a million dollars due to this suspension. I don’t care who you are, that’s not peanuts. I still think it should have been worse, but I’m glad it will sting a bit.

1868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there still hope for the price of BTC to hit back $69k this year? on: November 16, 2023, 06:52:23 AM
There is no chance in hell that Bitcoin ends the year at $69,000. If anyone wants to bet on that, send me a PM and be prepared to escrow some BTC.

Imagine the god candle it would take to reach $69K. I just don’t see it happening. Don’t get me wrong, I would thank my lucky stars if that were to happen, but it’s just not going to. Maybe late next year, but more likely in 2025.
1869  Economy / Reputation / Re: OGNasty good intentions on: November 16, 2023, 06:43:16 AM
- Did you have any kind of deal with pirate and his ponzi?

No. I was a victim myself who lost somewhere around 50 BTC when pirate closed up shop. All messages between me and pirate were also subject to subpoena, so this is a confirmed fact by law enforcement. That’s why nothing happened to me while others went to jail.

- How many coins did you pay out of your emergency fund? (this is a number)

All of them. Luckily, near the end of pirate’s run there were quite a few people offering better deals than myself, so everyone withdrew their deposits from my program before the collapse to deposit with other members who offered better deals. 2 people left their profits in knowing they would be covered by the “emergency fund” (your words), which they were. That is why you can’t find a victim from my deposit program. There are none.

- You claimed I extorted you for $5,000,000, am constantly harassing you offline, and have abused the trust system of a forum and people you love and trust.   Do those things no longer bother you, or did they never happen?

The extortion message you sent me is available for anyone to read here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5352637.0

People can decide for themselves if they think that is a (pathetic) extortion attempt or not. As for the trust abuse, anyone can see that for themselves as well. You claim I’m gravitate (total nonsense) you claim I’m MrDove (that was a team of people I actually met in real life), you claim I stole from the forum (my title is Donator) which is not true or theymos wouldn’t trust me like he distrusts you. Not to mention all the other nonsense ratings you’ve left me which I believe amount to libel and would get you in hot water if I felt like it mattered enough to care. As far as the current state of the DT network of course it bothers me. You can see in my trust settings that I don’t trust DT and haven’t for years, primarily because there are members there who trust you, even after the constant provable lies, harassment, and extortion attempts.

I’ve answered all your questions. I’m now hitting the ignore button to the delight of everyone on these forums.

Sacramento has proved once again that the Kings are the best team in California. Sabonis absolutely manhandled Anthony Davis, showing that Davis is soft and will never be the player the Lakers thought he would be. If you asked me 2 years ago if the Kings would ever be the best team in California I would have said not for a long time, but that’s clearly the case now.

1872  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Do you eat tacos on Taco Tuesday? on: November 15, 2023, 11:58:48 PM
If you've never been to Tijuana you have no idea how awesome tacos can be.

I grew up in the northern California Bay Area, were we have many Mexican immigrants (most from the states of Jalisco and Michoacán) so I grew up with above average Mexican food readily available.  However, I just got back from visiting Tijuana for the first time, and I can't believe how awesome the food is there.  Tacos of all types, carne asada, adobada, cabeza, lingua, camarones, and that's just the tacos.  The ceviche was also the most amazing I've ever tasted.

I also tried this rare delicacy which is usually only served with a shot of quality mescal:

Tacos in Mexico are most commonly served on soft tortillas, I'll take some photos from one of the local vendor in NorCal that serve them the authentic way.

In Tijuana a typical taco is about 30 to 35 Pesos, ($1.75 to @2.00 USD)

I grew up in Nor Cal as well. It is amazing how people there think they have the best of everything when it comes to food. It’s actually quite laughable when you get older and start traveling. I’ve never been to Tijuana, but I live close enough that I’m sure the food isn’t incredibly different. My tacos are irrefutably “white people” tacos though.

In my opinion, when it comes to food nothing beats Mexican or Italian. They’re in their own class. Everyone else is just fighting for second tier.
1873  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 15, 2023, 11:54:00 PM
so honey badge woke up and will be eating  snake very soon.  39k anyone?

Mmmm... honey badgers eating reptilians.  Cool

Let’s leave the middle earth beings out of this.

I’m with the $39K prediction. I’d even go as far as to say it will hit $39K before it hits $40K. Controversial I know, but I like the odds and would be willing to bet on it if anyone wants to take the other side. I’ll even give you 3 to 1 odds. Feel free to send a personal message if you’re interested in taking me up on this offer.
1874  Economy / Reputation / Re: OGNasty good intentions on: November 15, 2023, 11:49:30 PM
Vod, I have put up with your nonsense for far too long. Much longer than any reasonable person would expect me to. Still, you continue to spread lies about me for some strange reason. So here’s my offer to you. Since you clearly misunderstand so many things, you can ask me all the questions you want in a single response to this post. I will answer your questions honestly and then I am hitting the ignore button on your account to never think about you ever again. I’d recommend you take advantage of this offer as I will be hitting ignore and forgetting about you either way.
1875  Economy / Reputation / Re: OGNasty good intentions on: November 15, 2023, 07:26:02 PM
I am not trying to be funny or rude, but isn't it easier and better for everyone if you both go different ways from here and try to don't cross paths again? I have no idea about your guys history or what happen, but I know that a person feel so much happier if them focus on happy things instead of negativity things like unnecessary drama. Good luck both of you. 🙏

- Regards BabyB. 👼

I thought this was over 2 years ago. No idea why Vod is back on his weird shit. Everyone knows I never stole anything from anyone. There is literally no victim that has ever even claimed I was involved with the loss of a single satoshi. In fact, you can look at my profile and see that I even donated 10 BTC to this forum. Still, he continues to spew his libel. Mental illness is real folks and Vod is a prime example.
Not that I care or want to get involved with you 2 and your vendetta, but I felt like the bolded portion of your statement isn't worth mentioning. Most donators donated when btc has a small value, noone is or has donated 10btc for a longtime now. 360k just isn't going to happen $2000 value in total or less(much less in most cases) is where the donators happened. I'd argue that the donator tag is meaningless these days.

Carry on.

You would of course argue that the Donator tag is meaningless because you’ve never donated anything to this forum. It’s actually a pathetic comment to make. If it weren’t for people like me, there would be no funds for you to complain about how it’s spent. The fact that I’ve donated 10 BTC to the forum does mean something, whether your envy can comprehend it or not.

21-15-9

Few

No this here cat, neither.... looks like the combination to an old padlock that I might have lost.

Huh I’ll admit it, I’m clueless as to what this means. Worst measurements ever was the first thing that came to mind.

The rally is real though. Back above $37,000 is crazy. I’m starting to feel like FOMO is coming into play here. Maybe my end of the year $40K prediction which seemed incredibly bullish a few months ago is not bullish enough.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: November 15, 2023, 06:14:21 PM
~snip~

maybe in the future with AI models advancing too things will change
I'm really curious for the next decades
we'll see many interesting things for sure.

any other ideas on how AI may affect the future of betting?

Well, one thing that comes to mind is speed.

Since an AI can process information much faster than the human mind, maybe there would be bets in a faster time-scales than what we can perceive.

Machines are able to uncover things that we can't see, so it's natural to see a progression towards betting on those things as well.

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before someone creates and AI bot that can sit around making thousands of bets per day and winning at a rate slightly higher than the average gambler. I still don’t think AI can beat the odds over a casino in the long run, but I imagine it could probably bet a massive amount of money with a ton of bets to make gamblers inflate their amount bet numbers like never before.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 15, 2023, 06:03:48 PM
A couple of good matchups being televised on ESPN tonight. First up you have the Boston Celtics vs the Philadelphia 76ers. Both have an 8-2 record so that will be a good matchup. Then you have the 2 best teams in California right now, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings facing off. Both should be great games to watch, but I’ll stay away from making any bets.
1879  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 15, 2023, 06:01:01 PM
Observing $36,083.

Not convinced $34,xxx was a local bottom until we retake $37,500.

We need Gensler to approve Spot ETF’s man.

no we don't we need honey badger to do its thing.

It feels like the honey badger has definitely been doing its thing lately. No matter how much the market tries to correct, the price just keeps marching upward. This has got to be funds scooping up coins in anticipation of an ETF approval next month. I don’t think regular folks are doing this much buying as I’ve seen quite a few signs that people are beginning to struggle as the effect of Bidenflation sets in.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Casinos with Online and Offline version, Are they the same? on: November 15, 2023, 05:50:46 PM
I’ve never heard the term offline casino before. I was wondering how an online casino could have an offline version but it seems as though you’re talking about an actual casino that exists physically. Very weird to refer to it as an offline casino. I think you may be spending a little too much time behind a computer if you refer to normal things in your life as the offline versions.
