1961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Unconventional Betting Strategy on: December 02, 2022, 05:52:17 PM
They say two good heads are better than one, I couldn't agree more. Here's a an unconventional betting strategy that me and my friends have come up with to bet on some of the world cup games. I totally love it because we have cashed out about $1000 since the games began. Also, it minimized the losses and everyone goes home happy.

The strategy -  We created one betting account with a local gambling site prior to the World Cup Games. We all contribute equal amount of money to fund the wallet. And using different analysis we place our bets on at least 3 of the world cup games every day.

For me it has a lot of advantages -

- it minimizes losses
- it reduces the chances of being addicted
- it helps to build bonding. We hang out. We watch the game and we have fun.
- We have a budget and we stick to it. It sorts of builds accountability.

Do you have a unconventional betting strategy that have been working for you? Do Share.

Sorry I do not see your "strategy" working out. If you are hoping to crowd-source the most popular betting choices, you are going to need to be aware that you need much more data input than only from a few friends. And it is completely redundant as well, seeing as you can put together the same data from third party data sources by yourself.

And putting all the money into one wallet? Who is going to maintain the wallet? Why do we need to trust someone else to hold our funds? Sounds sketchy.

The advantages are non existant, as it would seem to me. You have failed to even explain how those advantages would come about.
1962  Economy / Economics / Re: EU Moving to Ban Privacy Coins: Report on: December 02, 2022, 04:00:52 PM
Oh boo hoo! The EU is banning privacy coins. And?

Since when has the EU or anyone else ever been able to ban any kind of crypto coins? Name me one time that worked, even with shitcoins? It never has been able to ban anything. Not even China can ban crypto. There is always a work-around for coiners.

The truth is that the governments of the world are powerless against decentralization because they are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers.

Their bans mean nothing.
1963  Economy / Services / Re: Listing & Trending services ? (CoinMarketCap & CoinGecko & Crypto.com & Dextool on: December 02, 2022, 03:40:42 PM
Why would anyone want to pay a service for a free listing that anyone can do themselves? That seems a bit redundant to me. Also its like 15 minutes of work.

So I am also having trouble understanding the listing part of the "service".

And what is trending services? How are you going to make the listings trend?
1964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would be an ideal KYC solution? on: December 02, 2022, 03:36:30 PM
The user can play without giving KYC as long as they won't trigger the threshold and though the gambling site may require users to do KYC even if they won't hit the threshold if they are showing shady bets or trying to take advantage on the gambling site. You are right about the KYC it was mandatory for gambling site that has a license.

So to make it short, there's always a consequence.

To make it a bit longer, of course there is a consequence but the threshold should be marked clearly instead of vaguely. I find that most casinos are desperate when it comes to following regulations and using the KYC to their own benefit.

But these online gambling casinos do not provide any clear cut definitions of when, how and why they do their KYC. So users feel left in the dark and dislike the element of surprise because they thought they would never have to do KYC.

Also, define "shady bets"

1965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: December 01, 2022, 10:10:14 PM
It sounds like David Avanesyan is just a bum that Terrence Crawford will just dispose easily of. Probably because Avanesyan is not that popular. The division is flocked with amazing talents but the problem is they all belonged to different promoters and networks.

1. Errol Spence (WBA/WBC/IBF)- PBC/Showtime/Fox
2. Keith Thurman- PBC/Showtime/Fox
3. Vergil Ortiz- GBP/DAZN
4. Eimantas Stanionis- PBC/Showtime/Fox
5. Boots Ennis- PBC/Showtime/Fox

IMO, Avanesyan will beat Thurman. The only impressive performance Thurman made after his accident and long layoff was his losing effort against Manny Pacquiao. Probably he was motivated because he was fighting a legend but the rest of his return bouts from Josesito Lopez to Mario Barrios were all mediocre levels.

Crawford has the obvious disadvantage of being out of the game for a long time. He will probably be out of shape and not fit for fighting. My money is definitely not on Crawford.

As far as popularity goes:
I think it has something to do with popularity being a kind of "measuring stick". But I think non-celeb personalities without social media might be disadvantaged here, so statistics will not tell you anything. Or perhaps the popularity is the measuring factor for any sport. Nobody would like a bad footballer, just like nobody would like a bad fighter. So obviously for the fans of boxxing, the best. Most skilled and most often winning boxxer will be the most popular. Nothing wrong with that.
1966  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dangerous life of crypto-billionaires on: December 01, 2022, 06:29:28 PM
Those may have been accidents. I would not rule out coincidence just yet. But if they were truly killed because of their huge wealth, then obviously there would be more clues. So unless you are saying the governments themselves are somehow a part of this, I doubt these were murders.

Not many people drown or crash in their private helicopters. But it does happen. Even to completely normal, regular people with no absurd wealth.

I could however believe that some billionaire tried to fly the helicopter and crashed because he was not a good helicopter pilot, just a billionaire with too much time on his hands. Or if some rich guy slips off his yacht, that he spends all day on, and drowns because he was drunk or on drugs.

That I could believe.
1967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 01, 2022, 06:05:03 PM
But the biggest reason is probably that its hard to make a skill-based game into something luck based.

Cockfighting is more of a luck-based game though your bird has a high chance of winning if it is well-trained but in the end luck should be on your side most of the time to win.

Is it though?  Huh

One rooster is not the same as another rooster. If anything that is what I imagine to be one of the most exciting parts of the game? To bet on a better rooster? Thats why in real life cockfighting the strong roosters are very prized. If you wish to emulate that experience and offer it as a game on a gambling platform, then you cannot make the digital version luck based. Otherwise it just becomes a simple dice game but with animated roosters...

Not that I am an expert in cockfighting. Far from it, actually.

I also think luck is a huge factor in this game.  Since cockfighting is modified by equipping blades on the legs of the rooster,  other rooster are not comfortable wearing it so as a result there are some incidents of self-afflicted damage that can result in the death of a roster.  This sometimes happen when the dominant rooster shuffle the almost beaten opponent that is lying on the ground.  The dominant rooster often hit its neck that can result to insta-death of the rooster.

Another case of luck case is the fighting strategy of a cock.  Since most owners are not aware of how the cock fight, there is a chance that their rooster fight style is countered by the opposing rooster's fight style.  There are lots of cases that luck can apply on the cockfigting game.  One that I experienced was that the blade was wrongly equipped on our rooster making it not deal damage even though it should be a clear hit.

Yes, if it is not a luck-based game then what is it? I think it's clear that it's classified as a luck-based game because even if your rooster came from a strong breed that previously won different tournaments, its chances may somehow increase but its vulnerability is the same as the game is based on who will survive last or who will inflict the most stab from that blade they're equipped.

Also, if it is not a luck based game, how would a casino integrate it into their online games? They would need to either buy a game built based on an algorithmic way to ensure that nobody can cheat by figuring out the algorithm. So I imagine that they need to introduce chaos into the system itself before it can be called "luck-based" And if they do not, then they implement a game which can be beaten with skill, and obviously any AI that is able to figure out the game itself will render the casino penniless, seeing as the client side would win everytime just by cheating his "skill"...

In real life, every cock is different. You cannot really emulate that each individual skill.
1968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Solution to Address the Problem of Gambling in Australia. on: November 30, 2022, 09:53:43 PM
Sportsbet, an Australian betting giant, has said that it will support any move to prohibit the use of credit cards for gambling. The operator said that this type of payment method promoted a “play now, pay later” culture which was detrimental to the well-being of players and consumers. Here is a summary of the news below

The problem:Gambling with credit cards is high-risk in nature and could have serious financial consequences.

Proposed solution: Responsible Wagering Australia is putting forth a new interactive gambling legislation should block operators from offering credit cards as viable payment methods.

The Challenge: If this legislation is implemented, it would also affect lottery tickets, which would not be purchasable through credit cards anymore.

How Sportsbet is working to address the problem - They are building a “real-time intervention” solution that will allow it to leverage the power of AI to quickly predict customers’ daily deposits and send alerts when the depositing amounts begin to climb up too rapidly.

What other solutions can you think of?

Read the full news here

I had to read this multiple times and still cannot understand why exactly gambling with credit cards is more high risk than gambling with cash, for example? If a gambler has a huge gambling problem, up to the point that his life is turned upside down and he needs to take a loan out, he will not be saved by having been denied a credit card. More tempted? Sure. But people who reach that low point are not going to be hard to persuade to do something stupid.

1970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 29, 2022, 09:17:26 PM
Cock fighting is a kind of gamble that bet is placed on the two cocks whereby if cock A wins all cock A supporters wins. It is a legalize gamble in some part of Asia

In the westside of my country during sallah, the Muslims buy rams for celebration, if the ram is bought before the day it will be slaughtered, one of the youth in the family will secretly take this ram out to the field were other Muslim people are with their rams for gambling.

It use to be fun when you see this ram nodding themselves to the extent that some rams might even die at the process of fighting and some rams will lose their horns. Money is been made at this period because so many gamblers will go there to stake on a ram in other to make profit

This kind of gambling is always fun because these animals fights in the circle of human, have you been involved in this kind of animal gambling or have you watched such game before. Can such game be in the casino?

So basically the real life equivalent of pokemon. Except more brutal and less exciting. Not that I have anything against a digital version. Hell, why not just play Pokemon and fight Pokemon? It is basically the same thing and you don't need to kill chickens for it.

To answer your question, I think such a game cannot be installed in most casinos due to laws. But there are countries in which they could exist in casinos, I am sure. But they can definitely find a crowd in online casinos. But then again, that would just be Pokemon. Maybe that's the reason casinos do not include this in their gambling games?

But the biggest reason is probably that its hard to make a skill-based game into something luck based.
1971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 28, 2022, 10:51:55 PM
Qatar is really screwing up this opportunity to make some money, honor and fame for their country. Roll Eyes

They could have been rolling in the tourist money if they made a small zoned-off bubble for the western sensibilities. instead of showing the ugly sides of their culture. Now they have insulted so many people, including the people of Pernambuco, Brazil. For stomping on their flag.

Qatar needs to get its shit together. It is basically "the Russia of holding World Cups" at this point. But, I have not yet witnessed a stoning of an LGBT. So props on that.

Indeed a good read. A bit sad because I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed for not having bought Bitcoin instead. Well, live and learn.

On this forum, everyone gets a voice and nobody gets their mouth held shut, like in China. Even if it is coming from people you disagree with and/or hate. Nobody is forcing you to read their posts or participate in their sub-forum. However, people who are in the EU do not get to dodge responsibility of their words. If you wish to report the individuals for something illegal they have said or done under EU laws, then feel free to do so. But don't be a mad little girl just because we are not mass-censoring people that you don't like.

If you and your people of Ukraine wish to be in the EU, then learn to abide by EU democracy. This is how we do things.

1974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't a religion. on: November 28, 2022, 10:01:18 PM
Obviously it is not a religion. Religions need believers, not verifiers.

And that makes us a community. Each and everyone of us believes in Bitcoin because it is not in the hands of one person or company. Its code is open for everyone to read. Everyone who understood the Bitcoin whitepaper understood what Bitcoin can do and will do.

Its all a matter of mathematical proof. And the math says we should hodl Bitcoin while posting Bitcoin memes. Grin

1976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Roshtein fake money streamer or not? on: November 28, 2022, 07:13:54 PM
Guys, what u think about it? Is Roshtein streaming on fake money or not?

I am sure in 101% that he plays fake money, but a lot of friends of mine - said the opposite.

After twitch banned stake and other casinos, he deleted all videos and dont even stream anymore, so its 100% proof they he had deal with stake and use free money to play, what do u think?

https://youtu.be/9X5eSMS_Uow

He may very well be. Unless we have evidence there is no way of finding out. I do not think that the policy update on twitch is somehow meant for Roshtein alone. There has to be a better reason for their new rules. They allow some streaming of some betting but not other types. They also allow some casinos but not the ones mentioned in the list. Makes you wonder what exactly they are looking to avoid.

As far as the streamer Roshtein goes, I do not think there are any laws against him streaming for "entertainment purposes" as long as he does not give financial advice or promise returns on investments.

Never heard of gambling streamers getting in trouble with any regulators...
1977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first attempt to play gambling on: November 28, 2022, 03:39:45 PM
We all have a different experience how we started our first bet. Their are people who started bet without having any knowledge concerning it. Their are some people started with a help from a friend to bet and their are some who took their time to learn before they started paying bet.

How was your first start? Did you play blindly or spent some time to learn.?

I am laughing from my stomach just by reading all the posts to this thread lol. My first time gambling was at Las Vegas. I must have been 10 or 11. Of course my parents would never let me near gambling but my uncle (big surprise there) would not mind it if I played the slot machines in Las Vegas while nobody watched. Ah man, the golden 90s. Those were the times.

To be honest, Las Vegas itself was a really big thing in my childhood, for some reason. My first visit there must have gotten me interested in gambling in the first place. And I remember winning $20. Which was a nice day for me, as I got to keep the money, until my parents found out.
1978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were the government, how would you fight against bitcoin? on: November 28, 2022, 01:13:57 AM
I think attacking the endpoints of Bitcoin is the easiest way. Nobody would get far by tracking down each and every Bitcoin user if some dumb government were to make Bitcoin illegal (again³). The endpoints in this case are, for example, the centralized service platforms. Like a centralized crypto exchange. Centralization is too easy to control, freeze or close down, if I were the government.

So I go after the people who sell services for and with Bitcoin. But thats easy to avoid when everyone switches to web3 and since nobody needs centralized platforms to sell/buy goods and services, using decentralized services will compliment the decentralized nature of Bitcoin really well. And not only that, but the disconnection from government-traceable platforms will make fighting against Bitcoin impossible...

In other words, if I were the government I would do nothing because I can do nothing. Grin
1979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The origins of Slot games on: November 27, 2022, 10:34:24 PM
The origins of Slot Games

Slot machines are practically the “furniture” that can be found in any Casino anywhere in the world. Slot games are said to have been invented around 1871 in San Francisco.

The first slot machine ever to make its appearance was designed by a man named Charles Fey, and it was first known as the Liberty Bell. Since then, the device has been further developed over the years, and today we have hundreds of exotic games available to be played in slot machines.

You can learn more about the History of Slot Machines here.

I wonder how the old slot machines worked without electricity...
Is there an origin to when and how slot machines became so boring in real life?

I do not know why, but the aesthetic of slot machines has dropped below a significant level in real life casinos. Nowadays, in Las Vegas, you have to play with buttons and you are not even allowed to play with quarters. They expect you to put your gambling fund upfront. I really liked the old ones with the crank levers and the quarter slots. I understand that pressing a button or putting in quarters will tire your customers out more. So obviously making it harder for them to keep playing at your slot machines all day. I imagine casino owners care more about profit than the gambling experience, so buttons it is... What we really need is a plug and play lever substitute for online gambling for personal home use.  Grin

1980  Other / Archival / Re: Is there a chance we get a takedown notice? on: November 26, 2022, 06:38:01 PM

"We" don't have a say in this. You have no rights here -- this is a privately-owned forum.

Regardless, what's more likely than a takedown is a subpoena to theymos asking for info about the ChipMixer account.

The CM site would have a seizure notice first, before the feds interrupt forum activity, as that would be a giveaway that something is up.

Obviously I meant the "we" we not the "WE" we.  I will do my part to help I meant. I think you would agree to help too?

At most Theymos can give them an IP Adress which may or may not follow to the actual account users. Opsec baby. Opsec. The honeypot theory in the other post freaks me out more than the possibility of legal action against BTCT.
