2121  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 07, 2022, 12:02:14 PM
Yeah, just shows that mankind and gambling have co-existed for centuries, as dice game is one of the oldest if not the oldest known form of gambling.

And it has evolved a lot, thousands of years and yet we are still playing it, with our computers. And imagine how it will be in the future.
2122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 06, 2022, 10:55:59 PM
Obviously Canelo has the advantage because he won the last fight, and if you will look at the previous post, you will see that Canelo is heavily favored in this fight. You can bet on Canelo to win, but mind you, the betting odds are very low, hence your winning will not be as much if you win.

Canelo winning in their rematch is not an advantage. How does it become an advantage for Canelo? If that was a dominant win by Canelo, no one will even bother to get this trilogy done. If it's a clean win, there should be no trilogy now but look at what happened?

This trilogy was being asked for several years now because that wasn't really a smooth win by Canelo. There are questions that needed to be answered and the trilogy will settle it all. It's always an advantage to Canelo that he's younger since I, II, and this upcoming III.

But watching those 2 previous fights, can we really say that Canelo has all the advantages? No.
Correct, I watched both of the fights and while during the first one I could give some advantage to GGG I do not have a problem with being a draw, however the real problem was the second fight, in my opinion GGG won that fight clearly but since Canelo was a rising star the judges gave the win to him.

Now even if Canelo is still the golden boy of boxing Bivol has taken some of that aura away from him, so I hope the next fight is scored fairly and GGG has an actual chance of winning if the fight gets to the judges.

Right, that's why majority thinks that at least GGG has won 1 already against Canelo. But the judges really messed the scoring in the first 24 rounds. He was a cash cow already and that *might* just the special treatment for him.

That's the best thing that we wanted to see, the set of judges, knowing the controversy behind those two fights, should not be biased and score the fight fairly.
2123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 06, 2022, 10:38:46 PM
In reality this is an uphill battle for Nietes. His last performance was not the same Nietes we used to see during his prime years. With the lost of Rene Cuarto last week, it leaves Mark Magsayo as the only remaining Filipino champion. Magsayo is in a 50/50 fight in few days just short before Nietes' fight in Japan. Maybe it will add some motivation on Nietes. And that he needs to step up again to provide his country another world champion.

True, we all know that it's going to be very tough for Nietes. Maybe he has that in mind, to keep at least one Filipino champion if he wins against the Japanese.

The thing is that he has beaten Ioka before and that might be a good reason for him even at age 40 to think that he can still do it and get the title back. So we will see, the old dogs of Filipino boxing  is now retired (Pacquiao, Donaire), and he is the only one remaining.
2124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 06, 2022, 12:15:42 PM
Thats the difference between the Big 3 and the rest. Even when not exactly in their prime, they still know how to not stop trying hard to reach their goal. That is to fight until the end. Well played by Sinner though, he is still young and has a lot to learn. Definitely has all the qualities to win a Grand Slam.

This is grand slam so this experience and big 2 (Nadal and Djokovic), will continue to reign. I mean down 0-2, and then take a toilet break, when he comes back he is a different animal, as if he flip the switch inside of him and then Sinner is done.

I will bet on the Over for the Garin vs Kyrgios, over 36.5 and maybe parlay with as well with the over 39.5 Nadal vs Fritz.
2125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $17.5K the low? on: July 06, 2022, 11:48:51 AM
Since it was not sitting at $19k, only shy a little more away from $17.5k, I say it going to break that price and set a lower price. Though, $19k seems like the resistance point for BTC right now. Keep seeing any time it hit lower than $19k, strong buying to drive the price back up. Maybe someone DCA at that point? What would happen when it finally breaks the $19k?

DCA is one of the best strategy you can implore in this kind of situation. Regardless if we are going down below $17,500, you can make a lot of profit in the future, just go long or at least have the mentality to hold as long as you can. It might be tough for some of us, but definitely doable.

Yes, there is a possibility that it can really drop in the coming months, but it doesn't mean that bitcoin is going to die or something to that effect. Again it's going to be a mental game going to the next bull run.
2126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 04, 2022, 03:44:37 AM
I think majority here as small to medium gamblers? at least me personally, I don't consider myself as whales or big bag holders.

So for us, we can still have some fun and then win if we get lucky. We don't need to be big bettors, just enough for us to bet and then see how it goes. The problem is that there are gamblers who wanted to hit big jackpot and see they play with too much money that they can't afford to lose. And there are no foul-proof strategy, not 100%, if will still be based on luck specially the martingale system.
2127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 04, 2022, 03:09:40 AM
GGG was asked about retired and this is his official response:

Quote
“[Retirement] is a hard question. It’s hard to say. Everyday can bring something new. Even if we just look ahead past this fight, we’ll see what opportunities come our way from the financial and attractiveness of a potential fight. I will make my decision based on the situation and when it’s a good time,” said Golovkin.
  Source.

So for now, even if he lost again, I don't think he will retire, he answer it brutally honest, if there is a good opportunity and the money is right then why not? So for now even at age 40, his mind still thinks that he can go and fight after a trilogy, but it will be sort of a day to day basis.

That would be the best approach, I agree, he just need to look at his performance against Canelo before making the abrupt decision.

If he wins, then obviously he will have to fight. If he lose but in another very close and controversial fight, we might see him fighting again. Specially, coming from his mouth that it will all depends on the financials. What kind of money they are willing to offer to him even if he is already 40 years old? To another young guy and then he be the stepping stone?
2128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking misconceptions about Crypto Currencies on: July 03, 2022, 11:48:50 PM
Which misconceptions do you know and what are you doing to debunk it?

How about crypto being "used by criminals" misconception?

For sure they might have been using it, but I don't think they can hide all their illicit activities as the government are really active looking for this criminals in the dark market or dark web and even close it. Even those cyber criminals are also a target for FBI. So it's going to be a cat and mouse it, but cash is still king for this criminals. So no, criminals are not using crypto because it is still traceable contrary to what others believed.
2129  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price suddenly dropped from $ 31K on: July 03, 2022, 11:12:08 PM
I think the cause of the crypto market crash and the bitcoin price dropping from the $31k to $21k price level was the massive sell-off by investors amid rising inflation concerns. In addition, many investors also continue to stay away from crypto assets so that all crypto assets experience a very severe decline in price.

I don’t think this is the proper reason for which the price has fallen so down.
I mean at first the war impacted a lot in the price, and then the price started falling.
When the price fell down, many of the newbie traders started to panic and sold the coins in such a petty price for which the price again fell very low and hence resulting in a bear market.
I might be wrong with the reason, but that’s what i guess is the primary reason.
Let’s see what other members have opinions on this.

There is no single reason, it could be the combination on things on global level like the war you mentioned. And it's not just bitcoin market, but all financial market as well, they are all down this year.

Newbies are going to panic sell or panic buy, (doesn't want to missed the FOMO), it's understandable at first. but they should learn their lessons and then become experience traders. And hopefully, their bear market will be a wake up call for them, just continue to accumulate bitcoin and not be bothered by the negativity around.
2130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 03, 2022, 10:50:35 PM
The only advantage of Ioka is the homecourt advantage. Nietes knows how to play with this guy. Age is not a factor.

The factor is that Ioka is active on the ring. That's his advantage over Nietes that even though he won his last year's fight, he still rested for 24 months prior to that. But I hope that Nietes last fight wakes up his usual form and does some regular training since then.

I just don't know why the fight ends up in Japan. It seems biased.

Filipino though love to fight in Japan, or at least love to travel and willing to fight Ioka on his home court. If if my memory serves me right, there are Japanese promoters who handles Filipino as well. So there is a connection between the two countries and Japanese are not as hostile as let's say when you fight Mexicans in their home soil or any countries in South or Central America.

Their last fight is in Macau, maybe you can call it a neutral ground.
2131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 03, 2022, 10:29:31 PM
Jalen Brunson - Losing Jalen Brunson was not the smart idea for the Mavericks and Brunson had gone to the New York Knicks, this is a win for Brunson and a loss for Mavericks,

The Dallas Mavericks won. Why they should keep a player that there's no intention of playing with them? Brunson chooses a team that is not a playoffs contender so it all end up with the money. Dallas offered him with $45-50M 3-years contract and that was just a reasonable contact but he wants more that's why he take the Knicks' offer of $100M+ for 3 years. Imagine he's already on a good team but chooses the worst team. Dallas didn't match the contract as that was just a waste of the salary cap where they can use it to get more role players. Brunson is good but he's not Luka.

Someone also posted here that Brunson's hometown is New York and his father was part of the coaching staff of the Knicks. It means it's a good decision for the Mavericks to let go of Brunson as they already did their best to make him stay. Brunson was really going to Knicks but just waiting if the Mavericks will pay him more.

I think that's Brunson target, and  maybe it was finalized through his father and that is why the Knicks have traded some of their players to clear some cap and then get Brunson. Mavs can't do anything about it anyways. And yeah, we might say they Mavs won in this trade, because we don't know if Brunson is going to play like an All star when he moves to New York. Mavs can get another player and developed him to be their next point guard.
2132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Opposite always happens on: July 02, 2022, 10:53:03 PM
Everyone is saying that the BTC bottom isn't in yet, this is literally what everyone is saying and most times the opposite of what people are expecting is what always happens in the crypto space, do not sleep on 10k per BTC, it may never happen.

Because no one knows the what is the bottom, so they make predictions based on the current flow, i.e. technical analysis. And maybe it shows that it's possible that $14k, or $10k can be the lowest.

However, the lowest so far is $17k, again we don't know if this is it, or there will be news in the future that can bring the market to another bloodshed. So there is this chance that the price could go or it will not, simple as that.
2133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 02, 2022, 10:31:33 PM
The odds now out, at least on Stake.com. I thought odds will be released 1-2 days before the fight but it's early as expected.

Perhaps the bookies have listen to us that's why they released the odds this early.

The odds is close. Not even a slight but really close. We can't say who's the Favorite or Underdog.

This is a rare moment where a Champion do have a close odds with his Challenger. It's like Magsayo is being put as an underrated here. I'm now aggressively hoping that Magsayo will pull a win here to recognized as one of the best.

That is good though, but it seems that there are a lot of supporters here for Mark Magsayo. Yes, I would say he is underrated, 0 defeat beat Russell Jr. (although injured), becomes a champion but then listed as the underdog in the beginning. If he wins by knockout, or put a clinic against a tall Vargas, for sure he will get the recognition he deserves.
2134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 02, 2022, 12:19:09 PM

Just in as news: Looney stays with the Warriors on a 3-year contract for a $25.5M deal.

That's already a good deal, he is not a superstar but he showed hard work during the playoffs that made the team the NBA champion. I like the management decision of making him stay he really deserves to be in the Warriors because he has a heart of a champion.

By the way, are there any news about the Warriors adding some big man in their roster through trade?

Honestly, it's already a good team for Looney, to stay with the Warriors for 3 years. I guess if the Warriors can win even 1 out of those 3 years that he is in, it's already a good return. And it's not about the money for a player like Looney, it's about the chemistry and the camaraderie as he was part of the team in their last championship run.

Yes, he might not be as dominant as the other center in the league, but he gets the job done. I think it was against Dallas that he got some good games, in both rebound (offensive and defensive) and scoring wise. And not just that, I think he could be the one who has the most screens set on either Steph, Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson to hit that outside shot. So it doesn't matter who is on the floor, Looney knows his position, low or even high pick and roll.

That's correct, it's also about winning a championship and Looney will never forget in his life that he was able to play with one of the greatest players in the NBA which is Stephen Curry. He is not not a type of a dominant big man but he always play hard and follow his role, he is such a professional player who always value teamwork over personal interest.

Yeah, Looney is just calm when he plays that's why he will not receive a technical foul, but at the same time, he is also very competitive, if we still remember, he had some big games during the playoffs because of his aggressive play, he slowly transform from just a rebounder into an offensive player as well.
2135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 02, 2022, 11:08:03 AM
This one is good, we don't have a champion in the bantamweight division anymore but let's hope Nietes still got this.

He has been consistently defending his belt but I don't know if his age will not affect his performance, let's just hope the best for him and hope that he will win the fight.

Who is the favorite in this fight? May I know.

Not sure who is going to be the favorite in this fight, but I reckon it might be the Japanese, because (1) he is the champion (2) Nietes is 40 years old and not that active.

Anyhow, I think he can still fight, he is one of the best champion that the Philippines had, just doesn't have the exposure in the US and obviously the weight class. Looking forward to watch his fight, (but I wouldn't bet).
2136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of metaverse in crypto space on: July 01, 2022, 11:08:55 PM
Can you boldly hold metaverse projects for 2024&2025 halving season? I believe that metaverse hype isn't over since many metaverse projects haven't completed yet, 99% of them are on BETA phase, what do you think? If project like Metahero survive through bear market it will be big in future, profitability wise, so what do you think about metaverse future.

You already said it yourself, the hype is still there so meaning may investors are still going to flock and invest on them whether we are in a bear market.

So for now, I would say chances are they are to survived. But its survival rate does not depend on themselves, it depends on whether we will see another hype in the future. If something new comes along they obviously, some investors might get out of metaverse and then go on the latest craze. That's how everything works in crypto unfortunately.
2137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 01, 2022, 10:47:54 PM
@Vaculin, I hope this time we will really see a big knockout win by Garcia.

Sometimes, what he said is not going to happen in the actual fight, but I love his confidence, that only means he was disappointed on himself for not winning by KO in his first fight this year, so he wants to correct that with an impressive win.

For sure, he might go for a KO win here, that's what we all wanted to see from Ryan, just like what he did to Duno (a promising boxer from Philippines, but then he knock him out).

So he needs to be impressive here, hand speed and then his powerful left hook, a perfect punch and it's over for Fortuna. He also needs to show that he has learn new techniques from Goosen too, maybe a stiff jab like his boss, Oscar dela Hoya during his prime.
2138  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for perfect slot base casino on: July 01, 2022, 02:08:45 PM
Alot of users here have suggested I play on multi-chain casinos that offer slots games as one of their games, but what am looking for is how to see single and slot dedicated sites I have my reasons for this.

Just weird man, I mean crypto based casino will have a lot of choices not just slots. And even land based and traditional casinos have options as well not only slots.

So  it will be interesting if you can find one, whether online or offline casinos. And business wise, if will not be good for casino to just have one kind of games.

Even in obscure casino that I played, there will be slots and then other game too.
2139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 01, 2022, 11:48:32 AM
The drama will always attached to Ben Simmons, no matter where he goes, I mean the way he severed his ties with the Sixers that drag them for the whole season. So I guess it's more on the mentality of Ben now, no one can help him except himself. Durant could be a good mentor, but what if Ben is missing those free throws and becomes a liability then? So it will haunt him until he improved his free throws or even take a good shot outside so that he can silence his critics.

How can you say that Simmons will still be like that? It's just the first time he was traded to another team so what reference can we look at?

I would agree that this is the first time that we have seen him traded, but the way he severe his tie with his former team? doesn't sit well, even majority of us thinks that he has a problem.

It does, that's another problem if Ben Simmons will still be like that while on the Brooklyn Nets. He likes that trade and really looks forwards to it. He gets rid of his problem already and he should be good now. New environment, new teammates, another start. I don't see any reason why he should make some drama again not unless another personal problems between him and one of his teammates occur.

Who knows, that how he was in the Sixers, even Joel and the coach has his back. But when he doesn't want to play anymore with them because of the criticism, then that's where the problem started. It's good that he got his wish, but this has set a precedent for him and his career.

And don't worry. Steve Nash already has a good portfolio and experience dealing with a Diva. I think it's even hard to handle the other one compare to doing some good talks with Ben Simmons. The other one has lots of egos to deal with compared to Ben Simmons who I think just needs a new environment to play with.

Yeah, Harden is out already, KD opting to get out of his contract, Irving most likely will be traded as well. So not sure as well if that is a good portfolio as far as Nash handling this diva players.
2140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "BSV and Monero are the way, and Craig Wright is Satoshi" on: June 30, 2022, 10:43:59 PM
Yesterday I spoke with my coworkers brother over speaker phone who works for a crypto marketing company. He was convinced that Craig Wright is the actual satoshi and that Bitcoin Satoshi's vision was completely undervalued and that eventually it is going to be the number 1 coin. I just couldn't help but laugh inside my head, but then proceeded to tell him "ya never now maybe you could be right" just for the sake of being polite and not starting an argument lol. I didn't want to be rude, but I do think that this guy was a little crazy. Do people actually think that BSV has potential in the future? I thought we were past that whole fail of a forked BTC coin BSV and also Craig Wright being Satoshi..... LOL asking for a friend...

It is what as you have describe, your friend is working on a crypto marketing company.

And all they do is hype thing, and everyone knows here that Craig Wright is not Satoshi, and maybe your friend didn't know the whole back story.

BSV is dead already and there's no way that it can be revived.
