Yes I dont think anyone figured the Alcaraz match was going to be a 5 setter, judging
by the pre-match odds anyway. I only saw the last set and Alcaraz's odds were 1.15.

Yes, and if I'm not mistaken, the handicap is like -7.5 or higher for him. I didn't bet though, maybe later when I look at the odds and who is facing each other.

That was a great test for him, his press conference revealed that he is very
mentally strong and said he remained positive right up to the last point.

Zverev had a tough match while Nadal and Djokovich  came through as expected.

Tricky one up next for both Korda and Alcaraz when they face each other

Same with Zverev, another come from behind win for him as well. It seems that he is tired on the 5th set and on the verge of losing. But he manages to survived and broke Baez.
2182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding my horses for now on: May 26, 2022, 10:01:03 AM
Is buying bitcoin right now the same with buying later?

Technically it's not the same, the price right now is about $29k, but maybe later it will be $19k (according to you), so that's a huge drop so your fiat can buy more bitcoin at the latter's price.

I stopped buying because it looks like Bitcoin dips isn't over, imagine buying at 19k per Bitcoin, I think the whole idea of investment is when you are buying not running after the best coins in the market, buying them cheap is better or I don't get it?.

Well the point is that we don't know if the dip is over or if the price will continue to decline in the next couple of months to the point of capitulation at $19k. So there is no right or wrong answer here, if you buy now and then and then the price goes down then buy more. If the price goes up after buying at $29k then you made a small profit already.
2183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 23, 2022, 07:53:39 AM
This is only possible with a healthy Jimmy Butler on the roster of Heat. There's a news that he is questionable to play in game 4 while Celtics will not repeat their mistakes in game 3 and obviously adjust there strategy to match up Adebayo aggression. They have Theis to stop him by force if Butler will not return in the rest of the game. Jimmy Butler has a lot of injury reports on this season and this might be bad news to Heat if he will not come back healthy to stop Boston counterattack against them. We already witness how they manage to come back against strong opponents when they Beat Bucks in game 7 match.

Heat without Butler is very easy to beat by Boston with a complete package of attack and defence roster.
Regarding health, so are Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart. They are in probable status and the decision will be before game time if they will play or not.
Remember that twisted ankle by both players? I think Smart's case is the worst but he got back into the game although it's obvious he is still in pain.
This series may become unpredictable if both teams' starters will be out.
Butler is a big piece for a win but the bench managed to finish it in 2nd half of Game 3. I think Miami Heat will possibly win this if ever the injury cases get worst.

Yes, if Smart and Tatum can't play then all advantage will go to Heat. Even if Butler can't play there are a lot of players that can step up, we've seen Bam and Lowry do that in game 3. So I might favor the Heat if that will be the scenario at game time (no Smart and Tatum). And if the Heat win, it's going to be 3-1 and most likely they will win the series against Boston.

2184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Session That Lingers On Or Keep Staying On your Mind on: May 23, 2022, 07:11:34 AM
Anyone experienced or suffered from this, whether from winning or from losing where a particular gambling session keeps staying in your mind and you'll having sleeplessness thinking about that particular session over and over again, the same bet keeps repeating over and over again and you keep asking yourself what if you do the opposite.
I'm glad I overcome this and I see to it now that whenever I'm login off to casinos I'm playing I will not think about it whether I lose or win.

Definitely, gamblers whether winning or losing will have to think of other scenarios that could have happen before he sleeps.

Might be a sign though that you might be addicted, in the beginning I also have the same experience. But as I mature as a gambler, specially playing with the money that I can afford to lose. Then regardless of the outcome I can sleep better after playing.
2185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 23, 2022, 06:44:26 AM
Guys, I've been looking at some data from the games between Dallas and Warriors...
Even though the GSW are not the same team from the previous season, do you imagine they can beat the Mavericks 4-0??
Or will Dallas can win 1 or maybe 2 games in these series?

What is your opinion!!?

ps: although in the last game, Luka was on fire and scored 42 points
Experience-wise, this series may go 4-0. Luka is okay, but his teammates look to be in panic with the Warriors' defense. Their normal three-point percentage went low. Dinwiddie stepped up his game today but still not enough. Bullock and Finney-Smith should also do the same but we didn't see that. Worse, Bullock was 0 point and 0-7 at outside shots before and after he was hurt with the collision against Wiggins.
Speaking of Wiggins, that guy is legit. He was overrated in the Draft as they said but now he is showing why. I guess just having a good team is what he needed for his skills to come out.
Wiggins is actually good, it's just that he hasn't found a good team before, but now that he is with the Warriors, he is willing to play on the role the coaching staff will give to him, which makes him better and the Warriors team in overall. This series will not go 6 games, if Dallas wins game 4, the Warriors will certainly end this in 5.

I agree it seems that he found his home with the Warriors right now and rediscover how good he really was. Anyone see that massive dunk he did against Luka? although the referee killed but one of the best dunk (together with his dunk against KAT). I doubt that Dallas can bounce back, no one does. Maybe they will got 1 win but that's it.

Seeing Alcaraz having an easy 3 set game winner against Londero.

And it's interesting that Djokovic, Nadal and Alcaraz are on the same bracket in this tournament. And another thing is that Alcaraz is getting more media exposure that Djokovic and Nadal combine. Hopefully though, Alcaraz will not succumb to this big pressure grand slams and hopefully he can win one.
2187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 22, 2022, 08:01:34 PM
I followed where my heart is but only in cheering them. Cheesy I haven't made a bet because there was no sure commitment on both Kyle Lowry and P.J. Tucker to play. And Boston Celtics was playing at home.

It was indeed a great game. Unbelievable. I thought the Heat are losing after that wild Celtics rally with a very very loud Boston crowd. In the end Miami Heat won without their main guy. I think Erik Spoelstra is one of the best if not the best coach at the moment. Looking at his line up compared to other teams. And he managed to top the East. And thru the years, Miami Heat is always in the playoffs contending with star-studded teams.
I think that's good enough. Cheering for a team is what they got them going. Fan base.
The game 3 made me realize something. The Miami Heat where just shocked with the change of roster by the Boston Celtics. Suddenly in Game 2 they had  Marcus Smart and Big Al and they played well.
But now I see they are still a mismatch for them. First, deep bench. They may end up losing 1 more but they can adjust pretty well and now they have the upper hand again. So, it might go Game 6 or 7 but if the Heat just keeps on adjusting they will win the series.

Very hard to predict but yeah, most likely game 6 or 7 to decide who are going to win. So it's good to see that Bam has finally had a break out game. And Lowry coming back in a boost to the team and then those 3 points, it's the ice breaker for them.

So Boston needs to win the next game to tie the series and then will go for a steal win in Miami just like they did against the Bucks. Tatum injury and if he can't play will be a big factor for the Celtics.
2188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UST will re-peg by next week Do Kwon interview on: May 22, 2022, 07:17:59 PM
I don't know, many investors have lost trust on Do Kwon already. On the contrary, I don't think that UST can re-peg just like that. The question is who is willing to buy it at this price and hope to make money in the future? Investors are not that dumb to make the same mistakes again.

The damage has been done already, and it's time for him to face the music as the South Korean government is after him because of the massive lost of investors on his project.
2189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 22, 2022, 06:52:02 PM
I haven't seen a whole lot of speculation on these boards recently about who McGregor will be fighting next.  From the looks of his body, he's been focusing a lot of his training on getting a massive upper body while recovering from his horrific leg injury.  I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get a UFC title shot like he wants and maybe has to resort to going for another payday style boxing match like he did with Mayweather.  That seems to be popular these days.  I'm not sure who he would face...  I don't think he wants to go the Jake Paul route, but maybe Canelo in a boxing match?

After his failure to capture the presidency of the Philippines, rumors have it that Manny Pacquiao is contemplating on a boxing return so I would not be surprised if it will be against McGregor. At an age of 42, I think Manny still can give McGregor a competitive fight in boxing and this is not very hard to promote and money will be flowing on this promotion I think.

As most fans that support Pacquaio has predicted, Manny will lose the Presidency in Philippines.

But if he wanted to make a comeback and generate huge money, then yeah, McGregor could be beneficial for him and it's going to be a win-win for both. Manny can still make fans buy his ticket even if it is an exhibition match and I think that he can still fight despite his age, the power might diminished, but the motivation and the hunger could still be there for him.
2190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 22, 2022, 10:24:48 AM
The next 2 games will be on Dallas, let's see if the Mavericks can bounce back as this time, it will be on their advantage.

We are going to find out tomorrow, Mavericks have to win the game, or else they'll be out already in the playoffs with a 3-0 score. Why? because no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit, that's in the history of the NBA. The reason why Mavericks are -2 tomorrow is because they need to win the game.

Dallas are good at home, in fact they beat the Suns on their home court, so I think they can do the same with the Warriors. They understand the risk of getting eliminated if they lose the game tomorrow, so expect a big run by the Mavericks as they usually win by huge number.

Yes, I love the chances of Dallas to at least win 1 game in their home court to stop the bleeding. They shoot very good as well at home, Finney-Smith, Bullock, Bertans can lead a avalanche of 3's and maybe that will give them enough separation against the Warriors. But we all know that there's no lead that is safe against a team like the Warriors so Dallas should played solid 48 minutes of basketball. Unlike in game 2 wherein they collapse in the 3rd, they can't allow that to happen again.
2191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The average joe would never accept bitcoin as means of payment due to tx fees on: May 22, 2022, 09:12:35 AM
On the contrary, I think average joe might think that bitcoin might be a good option for them. And I don't think that fees will be a big hindrance. What if there are countries that will accept bitcoin as legal tender in the future? We have one right now and it could have a domino effect and those average joe will have to used bitcoin. And this is not the first time that we have heard this kind of argument against bitcoin and yet it continue to flourished and mostly those average joe are using it.
2192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin fall below $30k on: May 21, 2022, 11:39:36 PM
Im holding. Not just holding, but also buying more bitcoin. People selling at dips and fomo buying at highest price all fools. Everytime it goes down everyone gets worried its going to zero. So they dont buy when they should be buying.  I dont think bitcoin will ever go to zero. Some altcoins future got erased with this tho.

Good for me, simple and yet very effective strategy in a bear market. For me, I have to learn it the hard way, but during the tail end of the bear market and the start of a bull run, was able to hold and save a lot of bitcoin so it's a win win for me.

For the price going below, again, this is a good opportunity to buy. And it seems this price range will stay for us for quite some time now so don't missed it.
2193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 31st South East Asian Games on: May 21, 2022, 10:57:53 PM
Last day of the SEA games today and for Indonesians and Filipino users in this forum, we have a great game today. This will serve as the game for the gold medal because both teams have 0 loses and whoever comes out on top of the standings will get the gold medal, no championship game for this format.

Indonesia is fast catching up on the Philippines in this sport and for today's game, i think the latter looks vulnerable as Gilas don't have a solid lineup so what do you think guys?

But I think the Philippines can still win the gold here. I do agree that it might be one of the worst delegates they sent in this game, nevertheless they are still looking good in this Sea games.

I agree though that Indonesia is fast catching up as far as basketball is concern in Southeast Asia but then again, Philippines is not sending it's full force here.
2194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What you should do in this type of market on: May 21, 2022, 09:47:12 PM
Begin learning and researching on which projects will survive this bear market. It is very clear that a bullish argument for good projects with good development teams have been made stronger today. After more dumps on the market are made, the investors will move more to seek value projects for holding than seek projects for short term and midterm trading and speculation.

Much of the projects in the market will never pump and never reach all time high again. However, there might be 5% of altcoin projects that are presently being prepared to create their all time highs when the market recovers. This is a market for investing in good development teams. The time of marketers and shills are over.

I think now is the right time to buy altcoins that have strong fundamentals and are able to survive the current market conditions, and now that many altcoins are down so we should take advantage of this situation to buy some altcoins as a long term investment because I believe in a few months in the future market conditions will recover and altcoin prices will find ath highs again.
Unless you think, this is not dip point don't buy at this market price since there is a room for a further drop on prices. The recovery will be slow but steady for many altcoins that have fallen down from the ATH price, the bull market cycle will happen right after the end of the bear market cycle. Since we don't know when the bear cycle ends, it is too early to invest. My suggestion is making investment in small steps and get a better average $ cost.

Not sure when is the recovery though, so it won't be steady in my opinion. On the contrary, if bitcoin is to suffer for sure majority of the altcoins too and who knows some of them might not exist in the next bull run. So I will still be very cautious on what altcoins I'm going to invest. And consider to invest what you can afford to lose and then be patience because the recovery might take years.

Breaking news!!!

Wimbledon: ATP Tour strips ranking points from Grand Slam over ban for Russians and Belarusians

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/61401519

This is a huge surprise, I thought the ATP would cave in and award full points, but it appears not. Of course this means amongst other things that Djokovic loses his 2,000 points from last year, without being able to defend them, and so is very likely to lose his number one ranking.

It remains to be seen what will happen on the women's side, but I'd imagine the WTA would follow suit. It would be very strange if the women got points and the men didn't.

For betting purposes it's probably irrelevant, all players will still want to win Wimbledon just as much, even with no points to play for.

I think it's a good decision. It would really skew the rankings if say Djokovic could score up to 2,000 points whilst his nearest challenger Medvedev was guaranteed 0 points just because of where he was born.

I honestly dont blame ATP for doing this,i blame wimbledon for going with the ban and this totally unfair from them. What if it was the otherway around it would never happen. Only sad thing if this is true is that Djokovic losses those 2000 points that will lose him the first place
I am actually glad this happened. Wimbledon always gave itself leave to do whatever they please. For instance that stupid rule that you have to play dressed in all white, including sneakers and soles of sneakers. I would love if couple of major players decided to skip it now that it does not bring points. That would give them something to think about in future.

I agree with this one, at least the the tennis association has enough of Wimbledon because it's obvious that the ban of Wimbledon has nothing to do with the sports, it's simply geo-politics and the players are a unfair victim.

As for the games, it was still Casper Ruud in the Geneva Open.

Winning in 3 sets against Sousa, 6-7 , 6-4 , 6-7 and retains his Geneva Open title, while C. Norrie wins in Lyon vs Molcan.
2196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 21, 2022, 08:52:25 PM
It is time for Game 3 tonight in the Miami Heat - Boston Celtics series. This time Celtics are the home team. Actually it might not matter too much whether any of them play a home or away game at this point. We saw how Celtics crushed Heat in Game 2 which was an away one for them. And I strongly believe that Celtics will win Game 3 as well and bring the series to 2-1. I think Celtics are one step ahead in this series but it can still end by a score like 4-3 at the end. I assume Heat would fight back with all they have got.

True, home court advantage is nothing right now, but the home team is obviously the support of the crowd here. And with the win in Game 2, Celtics has regained their composure going into this critical game. But we can't discount the Heat, still a long series, and as others have said, this could be a Game 7 game as both teams seems to be even. Probably it's a matter of star players bringing their A-game every night.
2197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Benjamin Cowan named the four most promising altcoins on: May 20, 2022, 09:44:51 PM
Cryptocurrency analyst Benjamin Cowen stated on the InvestAnswers podcast that the most promising altcoins on the first-level blockchains in this market cycle are Ethereum, Cardano (ADA), Avalanche (AVAX) and Polkadot (DOT).

Source of news in Russian

What do you think about this? Do you agree with his opinion?

I don't know who is Benjamin Cowan is, but it's obvious that the coins he mentioned is solid as we have seen this making a good run specially in the last 2 years.

I personally have some of those in the list, specially ADA wherein I was able to get it when it was still very cheap, (less than $1) and I will continue to hold on it regardless if someone says so. Because I believed that one day it will be huge.
2198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 20, 2022, 01:36:03 PM
I was wrong thinking Miami Heat will have a 2-0 before Game 3. My guess is, that the Heat and Celtics will take their respective home advantage then they will meet at Game 5 with a 2-2 series then that's the time we will have a headache on what team has the upper edge.

The Boston Celtics take that Game 1 loss as a lesson and look at what they did, defeating Miami Heat by a large margin right at their home court. The Celtics will be back at their home and maybe can get a 3-1 lead before returning to the Miami Heat arena.

Yeah, it was a different Celtics that showed in game 2, but the same, they took a good lead. But this time, they didn't let it slip away again. So they steal one game so now they have a homecourt advantage. Possible that they can get a 3-1 lead if the Heat can't adjust on the next game. Butler has been criticized even by the Miami Heat fans, so I expect him to bounce back in game 3.

That was a big lead, in fact, Heat has not won a single quarter, they were only able to tie the 4th quarter which was their best quarter. Butler still had a good shooting night though, he scored 29 points but his teammates were not able to contribute well unlike the Celtics where 3 players have 20+ points.

But I guess everyone expects Jimmy to have like 40 game performance again which is not going to happen because Marcus Smart is going to make his life miserable inside the court. Herro was a disappointed from the outside, Oladipo as well who I thought could have a breakout game. While Bam can't assert his dominance in the center again. Williams is playing physical and it seems he can't make a decent position to get a offensive rebound.
2199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 20, 2022, 12:56:52 PM
And I agree that Khachanov is like hot and cold in this season, very inconsistent and so it's kinda disappointing if you have bet on him and suddenly seeing his performance against Molcan in the first set.
Khachanov has always been that inconsistent type of player for me. Even when he is playing great there will come a match where he just disappears.

Did not watch him yesterday or had any bets, real life got super busy, but I had a bet on him against Simon in first round. Khachanov to win and under 20,5 @1.8 which passed super easy. That was my first time I saw that market on Sportbet and I hope they will keep it for the future.

True, one of the most inconsistent players we have.

I'm looking at Geneva Open quarter finals, I have Opelka -1.5 against Griekspoor. First set already and Opelka 4-2, score is 40-15 but Griekspoor is serving. So let's see if he can break and then serve for the match. Also have Casper Ruud to win against  Kokkinakis next.

Yeah, won my parlay bet here @2.12 with handicap + ML win by Ruud.

I have Opelka +2.5 @1.75 against Ruud right now, it was a live betting. The score is tie 4-4 so the first set can go either way.

I'll probably skip the other semifinals match though as I can't watch it later. Best of luck to everyone.
2200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 20, 2022, 12:33:08 PM
I will be going with the Boston Celtics, if Marcus Smarts, and Al Hoford can play that would be a good chance for the Celtics,

Marcus Smart is probable, but Horford is still questionable.
I suggest you place your bet before the tip in, or to be safe, bet during the live game so you'll verify if these two will play or not.
Celtics are good as a team, but we cannot deny that they lack big time during the first game and that is because Smart and Horford did not play.

I'm also thinking of betting on the Celtics in game two or at least the +3.5. It was just a performance by Butler in the first game, but definitely the Celtics saw what happened specially in the 3rd quarter. They had a good lead, but they just let the Heat takes over and they play sluggish in that stretch. And if Smart and Horford are going to play it might be a different outcome in game 2.

It was my understanding that Horford wouldn't be playing in Game 2, but may be back for Game 3.  I've also read that Marcus Smart will be back for Game 2, but will likely be playing with limited minutes as he is still not 100%.  With this information I'm tempted to say Miami will win, but you never know.  This is certainly their opportunity to build a lead before the Celtics are back to full strength.  So I guess if they can't win tonight, they probably aren't going to win the series.  I expect Miami will come out firing and looking to go up 2-0, but if Smart is back then it will be very different from Butler's 40-piece leading them to victory in game 1.

And this is what happened here, Smart come back and make it tough for Jimmy Butler. And if could the trend this series, until Jimmy's become aggressive again in game 3.

Happy that I bet on my instinct thinking that this will be not be the same Celtics that will appear in game 2. They almost played perfectly.

Next game I have Dallas +6.5.
