It may have felt a lot like your emails to Bitmain since Dogie is a paid employee of bitmain to help english speaking customers. Supposedly. Most of his responses are simple scripted 1 liners.
If I am a scripted account, then my writer deserves a Turing Award. Unfortunately you do not understand what a "scripted response" is. Let me explain. 1st level support is usually tasked to solve common issues, like "is it plugged in?", "let's upgrade firmware to the last stable version" .. etc .. The questions to be asked a customer seeking support are to be followed in a certain manner (i.e. scripted), so that based on the customer answers, if (s)he can't fix it, level one support escalates the issue to the right people. Therefore, Level 1 support follows a predetermined "script" to figure out the issue .. You don't need a lot of training for Level one support .. it just needs to be organized. Now, it worries me a little, if the hired support behaves like in the post above, instructing a customer who paid a decent sum for a miner, to ship the miner or the boards / miners for replacement to another (official or not) forum user without proper customer identification, RMA #, incident analysis and documentation. BITAMAIN does not learn anything about the issue this way and considering everyone "legit" .. incurs costs without any possibility of fixing the same problems for other customers. That's basic support personnel training .. I hope for your sake that BITMAIN does not ask for customer reviews on the offered support when they close the tickets .. (if there are any support tickets) .. You say I'm not helping. I hope I do. If not the customer here, maybe other customers following .. If no one told you yet ..make sure you understand you're BITMAIN's employee. "your" beta is BITMAIN's beta. In the event you actually fixed some bugs, by saying literally that "1024 breaks the reset button" you are not doing BITMAIN any favors. I personally won't be considering thinking to buy any BITMAIN units with such support. It might be better than it was before .. but not good enough for the average North American in the 21st century. Agreed, anything but the beta firmware I posted past 1024 should be avoided. 1024 also breaks the reset button, my beta one fixes it.
Whopper and shoemakerbruce What would be required to resolve this problem to the satisfaction of the average North American in the 21 Century? I ask this in all seriousness. I ask myself how would spondoolies tech respond since they seem to always resolve issues even when they have missed multiple emails etc. What does Bitmain have to do? I am not asking Dogie to answer as it is clear he is antagonizing people rather than resolving the issues otherwise there would not be a number of these Bitmain slagging threads that devolves into what Dogie did wrong as the focused of the thread. Rather than how to fix the problem immediately and make the customer whole. === @Wh00per. Thanks man. Hope people take what you posted to heart.

Thank you. I did what I could, since the FTC receiver wasn't doing....
WTF dude? What sort of kool-aid are you on? The FTC action didn't stop RMA processes or refunds read the court documents. BFL did nothing to rectify issues even when they had the opportunity during the FTC receivership. Let us see how many RMA's get done now... I suspect few. Considering they failed to RMA many in the past which is well documented. Refunds and RMAs something that could be happening right now, could have been happening in the past, and should be continuing right now. I wonder why they aren't? --- Here is a thought stop propping up BFL and their crap.

People gotta make a living dont they?
Sure... and people can point out the facts on how they do it. Unfortunately some of what goes on in bitcointalk hardware is deceptive particularly with 'guides'. All you have to do is follow the trail of broken promises and consumer complaints but one guide fails to do inclusive measuring of those concerns.

Dogie spam.
Technobit spam.
Yet we are all worried about Spondoolies Spam?

Honestly curious, how much bigger do KNC's and Bitfury's mining operations have to get before they get an FF ?
I wonder.

Not sure what you mean. I've been operating it since about 15 minutes after it arrived at my door.
Simple enough eh? That is a good sign.

Someone should do a proper community based guide with a number of reviewers sampling community opinion. Make his version obsolete.
You mean like you already did Interesting you equate my guide to a copy of your guide. Laughable. The biggest difference is I admit bias. Caveat Emptor. Do your own reviews people and listen to past customers over this guide. You will be better off.

Can you explain why its Technobit's fault and not BA's fault in the GB please? Also, I would suggest changing HashCoins from F to O for ethics until they can adequately address the serious issues that ckolivas and I have raised in their thread.
I don't like the manner in which they were attacked in that thread, ie "its a scam unless you do x y z and I've given you negative trust". There are Zeus customers out there and they haven't complained, so its more than possible what they've claimed is correct. I know you and CK say it isn't in your views, but then were are the complaining customers? There is a good chance that cgminer / the chips are simply behaving in a way not observed yet. We all know your ratings are based on your own opinion, thank you for further clarifying such. Con man and Mr. Teal are both proven experts in their respective fields. They have both asked legitimate questions and presented convincing arguments. Mr Teal even offered up a 100 coins (against their 100 obviously) if they could prove their claims. The burden should be on Hashcoins to prove that Con man and Mr Teal are mistaken, not the other way around. One should always err on the side of the consumer given the issues. Unfortunately when people take coin for review purposes that puts in question the reliability of any guide. At this point if you promote more than just a few companies as reliable your rating system is a pure fantasy. Even with reputable sellers like Spondoolies, Bitmain and Asicminer there are concerns from customers. Although they unlike most others have made efforts to rectify issues. The others are just not worth your time or effort at this point. It is clear that the goal is not consumer education or support but rather to gather more "influence" and create a business around the guide and other threads. What started out as information has become a revenue stream. Maybe time to move these threads to a new paid advertorial Hardware area. We all know the reality. There is little in mining for anyone with shallow pockets and if you ignore that fact willingly you are not helping educate the community you are helping sellers hawk wares that are never going to return on investment. Wrong focus for a guide it should be helping people make informed decisions. This one is not given the concerns of consumers and members of the community trying desperately to get this guide to work properly. Someone should just copy paste his system and do a proper community based guide with a number of reviewers sampling community opinion. Make his version obsolete. My version is not a COPY of this because it doesn't as many others have the same rigor as say consumer reports. It is silly to think that the purpose of these reviews is anything other low level advertizing.

personally, i think that larger dies are the way to go. i think having tiny dies, thus high numbers of packages and larger boards etc.. adds more points of failure, and more board power losses.. so I'm in favour of larger dies in general. not necessarily huge ones any longer (as they require exotic cooling, which we've all seen isn't as reliable).
Large dies are very hard to power and cool. Just compare the companies and die sizes and you'll see a very strong corelation. Late CompaniesBFL: Large die Proven Scam HF: Large die Proven Scam CT: Large die KNC: Large die On time companiesAvalon: Small die Bitfury: Small die Asicminer: Small die Bitmain: Small die Spondoolies: Medium die It's pretty clear that the companies that tried big dies has the most delays. I do agree the Asicminer dies could grow quite a bit and still work well. FTFY Not only were some later with a larger die they were scamming people.

In this and next month, we are busying deliver the preorders. Avalon4 moudle will continually have small upgrade in early 2015, 0.3w/GHs on the wall and 0.3$/GHs with margin is a short-term goal.
I know there are a number of instock products on the market with better $/GHs on pricing. This is their blood, no more bloodsucking form us. Sorry.
This says it all, don't buy from these guys. They want to suck your blood not the other way around. No value for the home miner in this product. Avoid it just buy BTC save yourself the agro.

More Monarch RMA Samples: I've got 2 Monarchs with the radiators bulging on the side of their tops. One of them has started having overheating issues as a result... I'm letting them run for now, but thinking a custom radiator solution might be the easiest way to handle it, unless BFL actually starts processing RMAs again.
Quick update: Fixed a few more Monarchs, that's good. When a FET shorts, it seems to immediately disrupt the 6 phase power supply output and shuts down the board so it doesn't burn anything badly. Then since it is shorted, a power supply will simply crowbar on startup. Makes sense.
I've got a few more coming in this weekend for repairs, so I should be busy early next week. If they have the FETs shorted it should be an easy fix to swap them out and get them back on the road again.
I just found out that it looks like BFL is no longer under receivership, which means that they will be able to get back to doing RMAs and shipping again. Good.
I'll have to think about what this means in the long run, but in the meantime the Monarchs that are in the shipping pipeline to be repaired will be fixed under the current "donate the money to a food bank" program. Maybe I'll extend it till next week while they get on their feet or something, I'm sure they are probably busy, so if you have a problematic Monarch that needs repair let me know and I'll take a look at it.
Good? Really? Given the long list of people who complained about the RMA process and the RMA policy? Why bother when REFUNDS are going to be monitored by the FTC... get your REFUND ASAP!

So I think now is a very good time for personal famers. 90%+ of miner company close down and others are struggling to sell their backlog at a big lose, this year.
Avalon switch to build-to-(large)order model few months ago, we have no large backorders now. And we only sell products with margin, even it is really small. For retail, no pre-orders form 1 year ago.
We have confident for the product cost of $/GHs. Now our major work is next gen ASIC design, large scale mining farm design, mining management system development, supply chain management, etc..

Why do I need to quote you Dogie? I was quoting someone that actually works for the company. You are just hired to spin positive for Avalon nothing more. If you want to keep spining what he said feel free. Point is made buy elsewhere right from his own mouth. --- Quoted for posterity. AVALON is here to stay I get it... All that matters these days are prices, and that it is not a pre order. There is simply no reason to buy from Avalon when other companies sell gear for cheaper.
As quoted by their own spokesman there is no point to buying this product. "I know there are a number of instock products on the market with better $/GHs on pricing." You going to actually quote me or you just going to make stuff up?

I'd like to see how they plan on keeping good on all the lifetime warranties for all the 65nm stuff they did ship. Never take the phrase "lifetime warranty" seriously. It means whatever whoever is using it says it means. Sometimes, that's something like the expected lifetime of the product itself, or the lifetime of the product line, i.e. as long as it's made. In BFL's case, it probably means "ha ha sucker." There's no precise legal definition of the term so you'd want to read the actual language of an actual warranty on paper, assuming there is such a thing. They could pretty much just say "lifetime warranty" with impunity, though. AFAIK in the UK the words "lifetime warranty" does mean certain minimum, 5 +2 years of replacement/repair time frame. Just in case people missed this document and yes BCP19 is part of this horrible company although he kept that secret for many months after he started working there. So take any advice offered with the full understanding he has been an integral part of the BFL fraud for over a year now. Note that he has no authority to act or comment on BFL products and is probably breaking a court order doing so here without permission of the FTC Receiver. Also Rocket202. You should start a help me thread for that. This is not an official BFL support thread unfortunately. Try contacting user lightfoot. Better still... sell those SC 60 gh/s as fast as you can and get something that is more efficient or just buy BTC. #ASKFTC

ASICMiner doing what it can to rectify issues with old Prisma. This is how good companies stay good companies. There were a number of issues as we noted from consumers a few months back and it is nice to see that Asicminer is stepping up admitting problems and looking to compensate their customers. Till now we received enough returned Prismas to get a statistical conclusion. We decide that the old Prisma design has some flaws in both firmware and hardware. Therefore manually fixing them and shipping them back take too long and are not good for both our customers and us. So the customers can choose one in the two offerings below: 1. We buy back the Prismas at the original price the customers pay. The customers only need to ship the controller and the hashing boards back. The fans and heatsinks are not needed. Customers who already shipped them back can also switch to this option. 2. We use revised version of Prismas based on our new power management chips to replace old ones, instead of returning old designs or replacing. This version is very stable and has no problem of hashrate loss/overheat/can't identify boards/etc. The compensation method for mining time loss is the same as before. We cover shipping fee of both, if you can provide the shipping label. We are very sorry for all the problems brought with the old version Prisma. The revised Prisma with our own power management chips is much more stable. So if you are still able to put some trust on it and accept the waiting of compensation (it accumulates with each delayed date anyway), you can choose the second. Please email us to sale@bitquan.com with the following information and format: * Personal info, shipping address, tel number * Date of buying our Prisma * Your previous individual/exclusive btc payment address * Number of broken Prsima boards (have to be fit well with the number you shipped back) * Date you received your miners, date of shipping back * The picture of the shipping label with the shipping price on it * Your btc receivable address. it will be best to be the one you paid to us before. If the btc receiving address is different, please sign the message with your address used for payment if you could. For customers who already shipped back, please mail to us again ( sale@bitquan.com) about the choice you want to take. Phasebird will reply afterwards with the new shipping address within US and EU. It allows quicker turn-around time. Skeptical customer warns community not to get too positive:I just submitted my info for compensation to sale@bitquan.com again. I am still skeptical till I get a reply back or see something in my wallet. Keep us informed about your status please.! You can count on that! Good customer service!
I really wish people would read what's going on before praising AM. Many people have had issues, then when we try to contact AM for a solution we get silence or a promise that isn't kept. Recap on my situation. Prismas arrived Nov 6 and caught fire Nov 10th in 75f weather. I was instructed to return the damaged boards keeping the good ones and that a new prisma would be sent as compensation. The damaged board was sent back and cleared HK customs Nov 18th. Nov 24th I finally get a reply from AM regarding my inquiry to them receiving my defective unit, they asked for a tracking number then went silent. Several emails and PM's later and I get a reply on Nov 29th that replacement boards not a prisma were shipped to CrazyGuy. Replacement board arrives Dec 6th, many emails and PM's later and this thread is the first response I have seen regarding compensation. Good customer service requires communication. I will work with people and understand when things need to change but it needs to be communicated. Promising one thing then going silent for days and weeks especially with time sensitive equipment like this is not good customer service. Also noted that they are working on a new chip. BE300 check it out here. This might put SpondooliesTech on notice that Asicminer is not just a has been chip fabricator. Seems very interesting they are going to have something out before SPTech's newer chips. We are glad to announce ASICMiner's 4th generation chip. From the physical testing data of our verification sample, BE300S, the silicon results matches the simulation results faithfully, and even outperforms our simulation in some cases. BE300S achieved the lowest energy consumption per gigahash in existing market, getting the joule/gh ratio down below 0.2. Furthermore, our string-based power solution eliminates almost all power losses and almost all electric components on the board. Therefore on-wall power consumption would be very close to (on-chip power/PSU efficiency), and the overall system cost is squeezed to its minimum. Name: BE300S (Sample) Technology: TSMC 28nm HPC Package: FCLGA 5mm x 5mm On chip efficiency (first board): 3.0GH/s | 0.1872W/G 4.8GH/s | 0.2275W/G 5.2GH/s | 0.2469W/G On board efficiency (average of 4 boards): 2.8GH/s | 0.1961W/G 3.2GH/s | 0.2026W/G 3.6GH/s | 0.2095W/G 4.0GH/s | 0.2145W/G 4.8GH/s | 0.2204W/G 5.2GH/s | 0.2257W/G 5.6GH/s | 0.2314W/G 6.4GH/s | 0.2363W/G 6.8GH/s | 0.2439W/G 7.2GH/s | 0.2495W/G We are still testing more voltage-frequency combinations, as well as more chips. But the test results are stable and solid so far. After the thorough testing of single chip boards, we are going to test boards with chained chips. Single chip board picture: Testing going on: More data and pictures are to be updated.

Nice work FriedCat. Hope customers will appreciate the effort get what they have asked for compensation for their problem units and answers.
Edit: For DigitalPackrat hope you and others get fair compensation for all your issues and proper communication from Asicminer.

What other guides refuse to acknowledge or incorporate into their guides, the repeated and blatant Technobit fraud. It is shameful.I'm still waiting for 51 boards from Technobit. Anyone wanna buy them? $100/ea. if you take the whole lot. 13.63 BTC Please please please let me out of this bitcoin hell.

I stuck with Black Arrow and I can't get out either, still waiting... Getting Minersource the first test boards they were supposed to have seen the last week of July would have been a great PR stunt as well, but I guess by then that group run was already bought and paid for?
Hey marto, we're still willing to help out with the US-bound workload. Maybe communicating with us or minersource would do some good? Nobody's heard from you about that in a month.

Where did you acquire 17 Monarch boards?

Technobit yet again disappoints. My board broke and marto stopped replying How do people get in touch with Marto? I've sent him two PMs in the past week and nothing. Still waiting about half a year for a project that was supposed to take two weeks, and can't get a status update from him.
As Technobit moves on to other products they keep forgetting their current customers.
