1701  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL refunds works flawlessly and fast on: May 18, 2014, 03:43:48 PM
BFL Josh has said on their forums that they have the funds on hand to refund 100% of the preorders if necessary.

We heard a lot of bullcrap from Josh in the last few weeks.

BFL also said they would deliver in October. Didn't happen. So why should we trust them on this 100% refund statement?

That statement was amended greatly wasn't it?
1702  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL refunds works flawlessly and fast on: May 18, 2014, 03:41:54 PM
If panic, panic first.

What if shipment is delayed to Jan 1013? Feb? March? And many, many people want refunds. Will BFL be able do this? My bet is: No. They don't have that amount of money left ...

It was delayed. Good that you got a refund. Too bad BFL stop giving refunds.
1703  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Should I cancel my BFL 4/2/2013 Order? on: May 18, 2014, 03:39:28 PM
Are you aware that all units are tested prior to shipment? You can't make the leap that they have been tested on mainnet simply because the unit is filled with dust. It's a long extension even for a shill from BFL.

His was damaged and he definitely needs a replacement, ASAP.
Where are they doing this testing, the local rock quarry?   Cheesy

That is weeks worth of dust.
http://s21.postimg.org/h2pga4yxi/005.jpg

Actually, that is one week's worth of dust on my equipment if I leave my back garage door open for ventilation during the day. I go through a can of compressed air a month trying to keep my rigs clean (dust makes them run hotter).

They are not in a rock quarry. They are someplace much worse.

Air quality in China is notoriously poor.

Then wouldn't they ALL look like that then?

Not if they tested some for 5 minutes and others for a day or two, or even some were not tested at all. Perhaps they burn in every unit for 24 hours before shipping.
I can think of lots of scenarios that are innocent which could result a bit of dust like that.

On the other hand, they could be in a building with excellent air quality control (a semiconductor factory for instance) and could have been mining with them for days or weeks. I was far more concerned with the damage to the unit than the dust.

We all know they were mining for profit via burn in so that dust was infact dust from Eclipse mining facility most probably.
1704  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: History Lesson on BFL on: May 18, 2014, 03:30:36 PM
Now that we are few weeks forward in time it might good to review this post in light of 6 months waiting for the Monarch.

BFL will come out with a new improved miner at sub 28nm in 10... 9... 8...
1705  Other / Off-topic / Re: FACEBOOK IS DEAD on: May 18, 2014, 03:05:32 PM
BFL uses it to advertize it's latest wares... must be great right?

Code:
We are investigating the marketing and advertising practices of the company BF Labs, Inc., which does business under the name "Butterfly Labs". We have received reports that Butterfly Labs, based in Leawood, Kansas, has accepted orders and full pre-payments from consumers for Bitcoin mining hardware, yet failed to deliver the specialized equipment as promised.

Bitcoin

Butterfly Labs manufacturers and sells Bitcoin mining hardware. Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer payment system and digital currency. Bitcoins are created by "mining", a process where miners receive transaction fees and newly minted bitcoins in return for verifying and recording payments into a public ledger. By design, mining is a computationally intensive process which today requires ASIC-based hardware to be cost effective.

Consumers who ordered and paid for Butterfly Labs equipment, yet failed to receive it by promised dates, are not just out the amount of money paid to Butterfly Labs. Because the computational difficulty of Bitcoin mining increases over time, by the time consumers receive the equipment, if at all, often the equipment has become worthless because mining with the equipment has become economically unviable.

If you have paid for Buttery Labs equipment, yet failed to receive your order or failed to receive it by the promised time, please contact our office using the form below.

Do not buy BFL. Monarch 28nm chip hasn't even be married to a board yet. They are 6 months behind and have been developing this unit for over 15 months. RUN AWAY. DO NOT BUY THIS DOG.

Meanwhile BFL still holds millions of dollars of "invetomers" money and still they have not shipped the Monarch.

In terms of getting f-overed yet again anyone purchasing BFL has just been bent over again. It is truly amazing that BFL continues to promote product that is so behind the curve on every level and they, after 15 months of work, can't produce a single board with their new chips. It is clear that BFL is a failure at delivering product in a reasonable time frame in a reasonable quantity for the demand. Now the demand for BFL is gone it is clear the BFL will also be gone. That is best news possible for Bitcoin.

Let us put this in perspective and what is the standard practice for shipping units today. Not 1 year ago but today.

What is shipping today. You pay it ships. Not you pay and wait 6 months or more for a refund.

1.0 Th      BFL Imperial Monarch. Not shipping. Not even built or tested to hash. $ $2,939.00 delivery, psu not included, casing not included. Minimum 6 month wait.

1.0 Th      Antminer S2 Bitmain shipping 25th May. $1650 USD delivery included.

1.4 Th      Spondoolies SP10 shipping today. $3200 delivery included.

1.0 Th      A1 28nm Clones shipping today. 2650$ delivery included. Price drops daily.

0.95 Th    BitTech Bitmine A1 Miner shipping today $1750. Bitmine A1 Miner including shipping.

1.0 Th      Dragon 1T shipping today. $2000 delivered today.

Let me borrow that cream for any BFL customers who are still waiting on the 28nm vaporware product and can't get an immediate refund, against FTC rules, that is 2x more expensive, untested and likely to be nearly impossible to cool to get that 1 Th compared to the competition shipping today with proven technology that out strips anything that BFL imagined 15 months ago. We see the pattern. Design Idea > Sales > Design > Fabricate > Test > Refabricate > Ship in 15 months.

It is truly amazing that it takes longer for BFL to refund customers than it does to get a 1 TH+ miner from any of these people listed. You may need the BURN cream buying from this old BFL shill. Let him get his refund the hard way in a class action lawsuit.

28nm Monarch customers are the latest in the long line of investors.
1712  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Advertising on BFL website is very misleading to NEW CUSTOMERS on: May 18, 2014, 08:12:08 AM
Still misleading.

How do the keep forgetting to update the page? Is it me or are they doing it on purpose?

1714  Other / Meta / Re: BFL bringing down the trust rating? on: May 18, 2014, 07:57:32 AM
Time to move to another forum I guess. Bitcointa.lk anyone?

I created an account there, and it appears to be a carbon copy of this sites content.

 Am I overlooking something ?

There are a few differences but I think for the most part it is the same
Basically a bit faster

Yes and can replace this forum. That is something the community should think about given the lack of movement on scammers that spam.

Besides the fact the guy has no integrity to start with posting false trust remarks. Why would any believe he is concerned about fraud?

See here: hardhouseinc

--

Shipment is with DHL is it Roadstress / Spondoolies Tech?

Keen on having DHL as sending it to Norway S2 taking way longer than it should. Held up in customs in Oslo with UPS. Bitmain drop the shipping ball on that or UPS not sure which. Aggg... 5 days in Customs waiting. Not good.

I think he posted false trust remarks for the incentive tard Josh Zerlan gave for abusing the trust system. He figured what sort of company is BFL afterwords and he is surely regretting buying from them.

Yes shipment is with DHL.

@hardhouseinc I am sure that you learned you lesson from this. Next time don't get so easily attracted to free stuff.

Its honestly my bad, in more ways than one.
I had signed up for an account here like a week before that contest started.
I never read much here AT ALL before I bought from them.
I saw they shipped stuff already so how long could it take them right?
So, I admit, I didnt know ENOUGH about them to have ordered from them.
I should have read more here like I have since I saw that contest.
Honestly, that contest led me to read more here on BTCTalk.
I found out about FTC complaint, Wood Law lawsuit, other good info.
SO, in the end, BFL turned me on to the truth with it, so thanks for that.
This dude holds a grudge till he dies and obviously doesnt ahve fun with life,
just let things go that arent a bid deal, or ever just be a cool dude.  I have
nothing against him and see why he was targeted here after seeing all his old
posts.

I honestly wana see what they have to say when none of my entries show up in
the contest IF it ever gets produced....

RoadStress turned me onto a GOOD company, AKA SP-Tech when I started reading
the BFL bashing threads so win number 2 for getting turned toward reading more here.

So far SP-Tech has BFL crushed and destroyed in all departments so count me as
a loyal customer here.

BTW, sorry to clutter up your thread sir.

No worries as long as you 2 make some kind of peace. His war against BFL will never cease as long as they are still in the Bitcoin mining business. You will have the trust system stigma all the time. Just live with it and accept it.

You learned the hard way how Josh Zerlan the liar and the scammer is doing his business. Next time just do a bit of research before investing/sending money to anyone/any company.

Just enjoy your new miners and happy mining to both of you.

Seems to be no peace. The false trust ratings on my name still persist that he posted and he still keeps posting new ones each day. Not happy with this hypocrite. Solution is for him to remove the negative posts against me Dogie and Theymos as well as removing the POSITIVE posts for BFL he leaves each day. I will simply keep calling him out on him being a hypocrite whenever it is relevant to do so. He has NO ETHICS and continues negative posts each day. Sad man he is just sad.

Thanks for the REPLY waiting on DHL in August Woot!

Regarding Eclipse Mining Pool.

1. BFL stated they would mine only on the test net.
2. They bought EMP without letting anyone know.
3. They tested their miners at EMP on the real network.
4. They lied about the testing and it only came out in court they were infact mining on equipment.
5. They counter this and defend BFL in court documents as saying the equipment was not OWNED by customers until the burn in testing was complete.

Weasles.

Let us see REALLY how much burn in testing was done. I don't believe your assessment Rassah as you have not documentation to back up your claims it was a minimal amount of testing. Let us let the court ordered discovery be the bench mark on this. What is clear is that BFL covered up they were mining on machines, they lied about using the test net and mined directly to profit BFL. That alone should give anyone pause about how TRUTHFUL or ETHICAL these people are. If they were hiding that fact could there be more to uncover? I suspect given they hid that at all there is more likely than not to see from the discovery.

Note after ordering with Bitmain to get delivery in Norway... we have some major delays with UPS as they have to send packages through the local post if it is outside of Oslo. DHL have trucks that deliver same day from Oslo to our datacenter 4 hours outside Oslo.

Wondering if we can order and ship via DHL to our datacenter in Southern Norway, if possible because we would be interested in an S2 if that is possible?

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/05/in-18-months-feds-got-nearly-300-complaints-about-bitcoin-miner-maker/

Code:
The FTC complaints come from locales as diverse as Estonia, Argentina, Redding
(California), and Winnipeg (Canada). They all tell a similar story, describing orders made
that were either never fulfilled or refund requests that were denied or not processed.
Ars has made the full spreadsheet—complete with redactions made by the FTC—available
here. An example of one complaint, from a customer in Orlando, is below:

I placed two orders for advanced computers on Feb 2nd 2013 for over $60,000 worth of computers. These
computers are designed to generate revenue online. I was lead [sic] to believe April or May would be the
shipping dates. However they never shipped my products and I requested a refund. I was given a partial
refund as I agreed to wait an additional month. I received half my money back, however as of October I
still did not have my products shipped and the company was refusing to refund me the remaining $30,000
they still owe me. Despite my [constant] requests for a refund and to cancel my order in its entirety they
eventually shipped me a computer that was not what I originally ordered and worse yet it was broken on
arrival and poorly constructed. I returned their broken computer and once more requested a refund. They
still have not refunded me, they are ignoring me and I am unsure I can follow through with litigation as they
are in [Kansas] and I am in Florida.

In total, there are 283 complaints. These begin in September 2012 and end in early
April 2014, collectively detailing orders worth around $1 million.

Ars has made the full spreadsheet—complete with redactions made by the FTC.

If the post was deleted I have no record of it happening.  This is my main issue there is no information for what I did wrong therefore no proof I've done anything wrong at all....
The fact that you consider this to me getting lucky is very saddening to be honest.  I don't know how this type of action can be accepted by reasonable people.  I have no clue what I've done wrong no way to have the issue overturned and I'm some how considered lucky in your eyes?
You could always try being a productive member of the forum without whoring out your signature space.

But it is ok  for BFL to whore out the Trust Rating system.

If you ban because people are simply post to promote a given entity... why isn't the trust rating system also governed by the same restrictions?
