741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This could be a big WIN for an entire crpyto community on: July 26, 2020, 02:04:09 PM
Well yeah, it can be big news but  I don't think it will make such a huge impact in mass adoption. Looking at the article you included, it started with illegal activities, transactions, and unlicensed business, and the defendant tried to say that bitcoin is not a "money" (to escape from illegal-money transmission). While the judged considered bitcoin as a form of "money" according to him since it fits the category. So should we really look at this as positive news for the crypto community when illegal activities were still involved? In fact, I think it'll affect crypto the other way around since people might think that crypto or bitcoin is always related to illegal activities.
742  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: July 26, 2020, 12:50:29 PM
and the government proceeded to anti terror and now vacine$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and debt$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Wozniak Sues YouTube Over Twitter-Like Bitcoin Scam on: July 26, 2020, 08:35:36 AM
There's been a lot of recent issues regarding scam giveaways in big popular platforms as well as using famous personalities in such activities. That's why I think YouTube also needs to step up with strict policies and take actions to prevent scam giveaways spread in their platform. They can put ads regarding these activities to warn people on YouTube if they can't stop people from doing fake giveaways.

It's understandable why Steve Wozniak wants to sue YouTube because scammers are using his name to deceive people... However, people also have their responsibility for sending money to others and believing somebody will double it for them.
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do hackers steal huge amounts of bitcoins? on: July 25, 2020, 01:40:32 PM
If they are smart enough to steal those huge amounts, they are probably also smart enough to hide their tracks too.

I'd bet that they'll find a way to cash them out.
I would agree with this. They won't have the courage to steal a huge amount of bitcoin if they don't know what to do and how to escape from it without getting traced. Also, they are smart and they know what they are doing, as well as the consequences of stealing huge funds.

It's just like the same as how others steal money. They have their plans (like what others have mentioned) before doing something like that. They won't steal if they don't know what to do. They are hackers after all others have the knowledge and skills to escape.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Illegal mass adoption on: July 24, 2020, 01:41:19 PM
He made a business but is not licensed. How come he thinks of putting up various bitcoin ATMs in public places without thinking of the consequences of not having a license to do so? Now, he's getting sentenced for it. It's his fault after all. And it's also stated in the article that he's fully aware that some of the funds are from illegal activities. Perhaps it's the reason why he can't get licensed with it but still continue to operate ATMs.

He still chooses to do it so he's responsible for the consequences. It's essential for businesses (not only bitcoin ATMs) to have their permit and license before operating. He will probably regret it but he can't undo what he did.
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crytpo coin/tokens? on: July 24, 2020, 12:49:43 PM
Every investment is a risk so regardless if it's a new coin or not, there is still a risk along with it. As what have always said, investing in new coins is riskier since there's a lot of shitcoins emerging now in the market. However, with prior and further research before making an investment can reduce the risk because you already familiarized yourself with that coin. We can still invest in some new coins and it's okay if it includes risk, we just need to know and be prepared on what are we doing or investing. That's why you can see that almost everyone is advising to research first before investing to avoid losses.
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BetKing sponsors kenya football , is it a publicity stunt ? on: July 24, 2020, 09:16:54 AM
It's just simple for them to say that the two sites are not related just to hide what happened in the past since betking was involved in scam accusations. But we're still not sure if they are saying the truth or not. It's better for them to make some public clarification about the issue because it will just affect their image since they have the same name, and the other one has a negative image. If they don't want to get involved in issues like this (if they are not really connected), they should make it clear to everyone.
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO GIVEAWAYS REQUESTING YOU TO SEND FUNDS TO RECEIVE ARE SCAMS on: July 24, 2020, 06:52:14 AM
Again and again, this kind of giveaways is always a pure scam and never entertains cryptocurrencies giveaways that work like this which you will send funds before you gain the giveaway coin/s. This thing already talks here and I guess like multiple times but even it has been talked here some people out there still fall on this kind of giveaways. If ever we have seen this kind of giveaways probably it's better to report it immediately so, the social media platform where you see it will instantly take it down. We should be careful about the things that we have seen on the internet because not all of them are legit and most of them will fool to get your funds.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing now? on: July 23, 2020, 03:31:43 PM
Aside from this campaign, I have been investing and trading as well (even before the virus spread), so it's just kinda the same from what I have been doing before and during the pandemic. The only difference is just I'm required to stay at home.

It's indeed useful that you have something to do where you can earn amidst the pandemic since a lot of people are affected financially by the current situation. There's a lot of opportunities online where you can still earn even when you are just staying inside your house. I can't deny that it's such a big help to me that I can earn a profit since I'm helping with our family's daily expenses.
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina’s telecommunications hacked, demands Monero for ransom on: July 23, 2020, 01:43:26 PM
We all know why the hackers are demanding Monero instead of bitcoin, but this kind of scenario such as hacking, scamming, and other illegal activities are really the downside that can affect the crypto.

But I'm curious what action they did and if they really gave those hackers what they are asking. It's the largest telecommunication company in the said country and it also involves a huge amount of money. It won't be easy to track those hackers and it's not a joke, and knowing that we've seen more crypto hacking related news, it can affect the market and the industry.
751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ask]; Start betting on horse racing gambling. on: July 23, 2020, 12:32:11 PM
~snip

Good for you! You are just starting to gain experience in betting on a horse race so it can really be stressful since you still have no background about the game or the horses, but if you will continue, you will be familiarized with it.

Since I have not tried betting on horse racing yet, I asked someone I know and he said that during his first time trying it, he just picks randomly since he has no idea. But after some time, he's now familiarized with how it works. If given a chance, it would also be a nice experience to try it as well.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BetKing sponsors kenya football , is it a publicity stunt ? on: July 23, 2020, 08:39:20 AM
so am i right that betking has a bad record before  . i almost forgot it because it was long time ago but there could be some bits left in my head on why i can still remember it whenever i heard thier name  . the said amount is huge but we shouldnt wonder if where did they got that money  , the money can came from thier bad deeds   .  if they havent cleared thier name before they can still look bad  . recieving a cash that came from stealing sounds not aprorpriate , if im the sport manager ill not accept this deal  .

I'm not really familiar about their issue but after reading what others have said it's clear that even if they will make a sponsorship to have a good image, it won't erase the negative image they had before for scamming people. If they are trying to get back the trust of the people by giving a good impression, it won't be easy for them since they have not cleared their name and reputation yet.

The management should also look or review it first before accepting sponsorship because if the money indeed came from stealing, the FKF can also get their name affected with betking's past issue.
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Record Revenue for Blockchain Gaming Company During Pandemic on: July 22, 2020, 03:41:10 PM
During the lockdown as there is no other way to gamble or bet so online had to picked up the momentum and it has happened that way. I guess for next few months we will see more, or it till the time there is no proper stability or vaccine reaches would continue this way itself. More so ever there would be huge amount of increase in the teenage category too who would have started gambling online during this period as a source of entertainment. And if they get addicted it will be a very big thing for the gambling sites.

It's the most convenient way if you really want to gamble or play since it's safer to bet online than going outside and risking your lives. It's really a big opportunity for this industry to attract the public because almost everyone is spending their quarantine time on the internet.

There's no doubt that even teenagers/young adults can get hooked by online gaming since they are bored staying inside their houses. But if they addicted to it, it's their own responsibility since the gaming company wouldn't care about it as long as they are earning.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Poker Tournaments" are reopening little by little. on: July 22, 2020, 12:23:16 PM
For too long quarantine and lockdown have taken place, the government must indeed have the courage to take tough decisions by reopening
a companies, shops, malls, cafes, airports and casinos. If this is not done it will be difficult to recovery the economy, there is indeed a risk of
spreading the virus with this policy. But the spread of the corona virus can be minimized by strict rules regarding health protocols. So I am
happy with the news that the poker tournament will reopen little by little, this will make the economy slowly recover.

It's really a tough decision for the governments whether to reopen businesses or to keep everyone safe. But they have no choice but to let them operate businesses to save the economy, they just need to implement some basic protocols to keep everyone safe. Although it may not a hundred percent sure that everyone will be safe from the virus, that's the least they can do. It's a really hard adjustment for everyone to keep the day going amidst the pandemic.

It's still great for gamblers who like poker since it's now finally resuming. They just need to keep their health safe if they would go out in public places and gamble with other players.

755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Bitcoin Giving on: July 22, 2020, 11:15:14 AM
There are still legit giveaways, but if it includes sending money to others, that's not a giveaway already. It's already suspicious if they would ask you to send money first before you can receive money or if they will promise you to double that money.

Scammers will always be there that's why it's important to educate others or those people around you about this kind of tricks because not everything they will see on the internet is real. Even those big and famous accounts from celebrities since they are prone to hacking.

757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never invest in any cryptocurrencies! on: July 22, 2020, 10:01:58 AM
I think most people approach crypto in the wrong way. With "get rich quick" approach.
That's the common misunderstanding people though when investing in cryptocurrency. But that's not really the case here in crypto. If with proper research and study about cryptocurrency, people will realize that there's no easy money here and it takes time before you become "rich" by investing or trading on cryptocurrency. Most of the double money or rich quick scheme that you will see on the internet is a scam that's why we need to be careful.

If our goal is to earn, we should also know the risk and how to deal with it. It's just the same with other investment, it takes knowledge and time before you can say that you succeeded with your investment.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally some justice, scammer sent to jail at South Korea. on: July 22, 2020, 09:06:15 AM
Personally, I think 2.5 years is so short for what he did. I have seen a lot of news from S. Korea and judging how they sentenced suspects, I keep thinking that their law is kinda awful. Even if he's just the secretary, he is still part of the illegal activity, and it also says that he actively participated so I think he deserves a longer year of imprisonment.

But at least they caught this illegal company. I also hope that victims were able to get back their money (even if they also have their responsibility and mistakes for believing in that investment scheme). And those suspects should also be fined for what they did since it involves a huge amount of money.
759  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you estimate resilience of economy in your country? on: July 21, 2020, 04:23:49 PM
The Phillipines showed a lack of action in fighting the pandemic. In fact, even with the growing number of cases with over 70,000 confirmed cases, the government is busy with other political issues than focusing on this virus. There's a lot of ongoing issues in my country that you would think that they don't give attention to the pandemic. There's even a rally which is really frightening since it can contribute to more positive cases. That's why I really envy those countries will low confirmed cases and those who manage to flatten the curve like Korea, HongKong, and Thailand, and more.

We are now in the phase of recovering the economy by opening businesses and going back to work yet the threat is much greater compared when we are still in lockdown. Now they are pushing to resume classes in August without assurance that it will be safe for students to go out (online classes is not accessible for everyone). Everything is becoming political, even this pandemic. So I really don't know what will happen in the next few months without the vaccine since our government isn't competent at all.
760  Other / Off-topic / Re: UKGC Suspend Genesis Global's Licence on: July 21, 2020, 01:37:44 PM
I can't access the source you have given OP. But I just tried searching for this news and it seems that they can still get their license back. It's just that they are big operators with 12 gambling sites, and it will affect their image negatively even after getting their license back especially that the government advised the public not to get involved or play with the sites listed as illegal.

I have tried reading different articles regarding this news but I can't seem to find any statement from Genesis Global. It would be better to give an official statement for the public or their customers. But I think they can clear things out after reviewing it or something.
