961  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My experience as a beginner trader on: September 13, 2023, 01:22:13 PM
OP, your motto about quitting is not an option might be dangerous. Hopefully, you're not getting emotional right there because that will be the time that you might break your earlier plan like putting in more money that you can only afford to lose. I'd been on and off on trading although I can say that I am not really that good. The only time I had great profits was during major bull runs which are the year of bitcoin halving and its following year. At present, I have a small position in the future that is more than a week already because I am hardheaded instead of just waiting to make trades next year and 2025.
962  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is not going to $12k. on: September 13, 2023, 01:02:42 PM
At the moment, I am really assuming that bitcoin will not really go down that low. The price already dropped hard to $15k and that was it. Since that big drop, it started to increase to $30k. Now we are at another correction at $26k. The support is holding really strong. I'm glad I was able to purchase at $25k something last week for my monthly dollar-cost averaging. The price is looking to reach back to $28k or even more in the weeks to come.

So the price of $12k for bitcoin is only a dream to those who waited for it. I bet it won't happen this cycle since the halving is already happening next year and we already know what's next.
963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approach? on: September 13, 2023, 12:37:57 PM
I tried many times to put some higher bets with small risks but maybe I am not really that lucky in that strategy. There was even a time when I thought I could make a regular income on a 1.05 to 1.10 odds. It always failed, I always failed to make a 10-winning streak to offset my capital.

So I tried all these different strategies in the past but most of the time I am really more fond of a 1.90 to 2.10 odds. So I'm in the middle and need to risk amounts that aren't that small or big since the chance of winning is 50/50. I only need to divide my capital so I can bet once my first few bets are lost.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 12, 2023, 11:22:59 AM
Casimero ML @ 1.10 is quite high and it's somehow unrealistic, so I don't think that the bookies will list it like that knowing Casimero's odds in his past fights are more than that even if the fight still looks the same just like this as Casimero still have the upper hand.

So yes, it's somewhere 1.30 to 1.40 in favor of Casimero. Those odds will be worth it already as I don't really see this Oguni as a threat in Casimero's streak. Aside from that, I'll be watching for some options while the fight is getting near.

I'm sure that as the fight goes near, there are many options/markets in the bookies and i'm contemplating on betting for Casimero to win by knockout as he is so serious now on his training and the good about his training is that he won't go anywhere else as he has built his own gym in his own backyard, this way he could save a lot of money and no more nightlife for sure.

Yes, there might be more betting options once the fight is getting nearer. But I understand the odds difference. Oguni's only advantage here is he is fighting in front of his countrymen although the promotion itself is by Casimero's promoter who happens to be Japanese.

If only the fight venue is not in Japan, I would probably risk on Casimero. The biggest upsets happen when the huge underdogs land a huge power punch on their opponents like what happened to Mike Tyson against Buster Douglas. The problem with Oguni though is he doesn't possess that power punch so an upset is very unlikely.
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: September 12, 2023, 10:50:55 AM
Sometimes the topic of gambling addiction is overstated. Especially when nobody is forced to gamble. Besides, everything that is excessive is not good like eating too much food, partying a lot, and even working too much is not healthy. This is not the same as smoking (except weed) where it gives no benefit and only gives problems to the other people who are forced to inhale the unhealthy air.

For me, gambling is important because it gives us a different feeling. I am always entertained when playing in casinos. Sports betting makes me more excited and thrilled when watching games. I felt like I would be rewarded with my analysis if my bet won. It is putting my analysis to the test and I love it.
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 12, 2023, 10:30:27 AM
I have been gambling for many years already and up to now I still continue to gamble regularly. For many years of experience, the was only one time when I had regrets when I gambled amounts that I considered right now as bigger than I could afford to lose although during that time the amounts were tolerable since I was very liquid.

I know that even educated people can still be addicted to gambling. It is very hard to control our emotions so the best way to plan before starting to play or bet. Make a limit on our bets and the amount should not hurt us if we are to lose. Also, it is necessary to make time limits for our gambling activities. Set an alarm if possible so we can stop at the right time. The is a lot of stuff to do rather than gamble all day long.
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Run within Q4 of 2024? on: September 12, 2023, 10:10:13 AM
It Isn't possible for tell the adject time when bull session will start but as this is speculation sector, you can feel free to share your prediction about it. Now let me guess! Meanwhile i google about Btc halving and it shows, April 26, 2024.  And if so, then it is possible that bull will within some months after halving occurred. That means possible time could be within 2024? Or 2025? What is your thought? Note: Invest wtih your own responsibility.
there are lot of saying about the occurrence but it is not completely to happen ,
though yeah saying tells us that in 3rd quarter of 2024 or at least 4th quarter. but if not comes those duration then surely in the 1st quarter of 2025 but this not happened in the past so hope that it will not happen same net bullrun.
but if you are willing to keep and hold then this will never be an issue .

This is why dollar cost averaging or DCA is becoming a trend in this forum which makes sense. It is very hard to catch the exact start of the bull run and also the exact dips so I am also convinced that it is better to just make a monthly DCA. I just started my DCA last year and I am glad I was able to buy bitcoin at $15k levels.

As for the altcoins, I am still losing most of them. I guess the best way to DCA altcoins is only ETH and the other at the top of the ranking. I am looking forward to adding more DOGE. I am expecting the peak of the bull run to happen in 2025 but it will start anytime next year.
968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Features on any Banking or Financial apps should be Removed on: September 12, 2023, 09:50:50 AM
I have opened more than 10 bank accounts in the past including the use of their apps and I assume that there are no betting features in our banking apps. I also have lots of financial apps and I also found zero features that allow its users to bet. But this is not a surprise since some years ago I found out that our bank debit cards are also restricted from making deposits in online gambling casinos.

I believe that gambling should only be introduced to mature people who are at least not down financially. Gambling is fun but there are just a lot of people who do not understand how it works.
969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 12, 2023, 09:23:41 AM
The biggest trend in the NBA right now is the proposal to control rest management on its star players. We do not know yet the specific outcome but it is expected to get a win in the voting. There are cons and pros if this becomes a reality. Teams with aging and injury-prone players are at a disadvantage. But this will make the NBA regular season games more exciting. I am one of those who lost some interest in some of the regular games. In the last few years since the Warriors' 2-title streak ended after the injuries of its two superstars, it became a game of preserving and maintaining its superstars which were openly disagreed by Giannis and Harden back then.

I also heard that it might allow resting but only for one star player per game. This is advantageous to rich teams that are capable of forming a roster with two to three stars. Also, there are no specific details to distinguish a star. Maybe someone who was able to play in the All-Stars?
970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 11, 2023, 12:19:07 PM
It will be interesting to see if the US can also defend its gold medal in the Olympics next year. The US's most prominent basketball stars usually play only during the Olympics which is why they continue to dominate it through the years while ignoring the FIBA World Cup.

I guess I'm gonna be placing my bet on the USA here.

The US will be very difficult to beat during the Olympics. They will be bringing to Paris their experienced and more proven superstars like Jayson Tatum, Steph Curry, and many more. But I actually feel bored if no teams are capable of giving them a close game. Maybe the Canadian team earned their experience this FIBA and will play better in Paris next year. Serbia will also have around half of their lineup from the NBA including Jokic. The French team will also play at home along with Wembayama who's used to FIBA type of basketball.

I am expecting it will happen, though. In fact, I have seen some articles online that LeBron is also interested in playing in the Olympics. With his leadership, I think Team USA would perform better. The problem with the young Team USA that was sent to compete is that they don't have a good floor general on the court and a veteran who could help the team stay calm under pressure. They relied heavily on their talent, so they were outsmarted by Germany, who had a great floor general in the name of Schröder.

Yes, I can imagine the struggles of Steve Kerr and Erik Spoelstra calming down their young roster while at the same time establishing good chemistry in a short period of time. Maybe that young roster can win in a long season because they are young, athletic, and have the stamina but the FIBA World Cup is a few-week event so most of the athletes if not all are expected to play at their very best.

Lebron is trying to make history then if he is indeed playing in Paris. I also favor the USA to win but once again I won't be surprised if they will also fail since many countries are also stepping up which makes the event even more exciting.
971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 11, 2023, 11:58:16 AM
Of course mate it is a different feeling when playing online casinos and land-based casinos. Both are real casinos and both have cons and pros. Even before the pandemic I still prefer the crypto-based online casinos because I felt like the house edge on land-based casinos is higher. The ambiance though in a land-based casino is a different feeling. You can hang out with your friends while gambling and having fun. But online casinos are very easy to access, you can maintain your privacy and there is no need to make an effort travelling.

But what matters here is your curiosity OP. Maybe someday you can look for cheaper promo flights to countries near you where gambling is legal. And then experience the vibes and play there yourself.
972  Economy / Economics / Re: Save your environmental economic cycle on: September 11, 2023, 11:38:06 AM
It's the effect of technological advancement which is why every business needs to innovate if they want to stay competitive. The pandemic also created a trend where many people prefer the easiest way like avoiding heading to crowded places like markets and grocery stores. Since the pandemic, I myself learned to adapt to paying all my bills online instead of heading to credited stores that can earn small fees. I also learned to do online shopping for my regular stuff. The only time I need to buy and leave home personally are rice, meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits.
973  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 11, 2023, 11:18:00 AM
I already have a college degree so if I have another chance for further studies to build my career or to use that money for an apartment, house, or a piece of land; without a doubt, I will choose to spend it on building an apartment. The proceeds from my apartment I can use for my studies if I want to.

But let's say I am only 17 years old and my parents let me choose to use the money for college or use it for real property to have a passive income then I will still pick having passive income. Although I doubt we are mature enough to decide on that one. Maybe it is our parents that will make the decision. But what I learned from life is that education is a never-ending process. So I actually do not care if I enter college two years late just for me or my parents to have a passive income.
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 11, 2023, 10:57:18 AM
Depression is real, Negativity is real, Emotions and fear also follows but we are built to go through all this, it's what makes us human, These are things that we can't all escape, and on the other part of us we are programmed to learn from them and grow.

The problem starts if you fail to learn from your falls, you can be in control but the payment is been disciplined, when a child comes into the world they don't talk or walk, it was all a gradual process, we fail so that we can learn.

You lose to your emotions so that you can learn how to control them, you get into the wrong hands because you are weak and the lesson is to become stronger, like I've said already, this is the only way to learn as a human.

Every mistakes is fine but not learning from them is wrong, Reshape yourself and be a better person.

You have a point but not all things that we need to commit mistakes in different situations in order to learn and become a better person. There are a lot of things that are unnecessary to fail. We learn from other peoples' past experiences just like we are listening to our elders and teachers in order for us to become better humans.

In gambling, we do not have to be addicted to become responsible gamblers. We don't have to experience other people who lost properties and have huge debts because of their emotions that lead to gambling addictions.
975  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Importance of inviting Newbies to Bitcointalk on: September 11, 2023, 10:37:42 AM
Even now, I always refer to this forum as the best way to learn about bitcoin and crypto although I haven't specifically told them to create an account. In the past, I only tried inviting a few people to join this forum to guide their journey towards bitcoin and crypto explorations. But I never told them about how to rank up because it is unnecessary IMO. If the goal is to rank up then most likely the real intention is to earn money in this forum. But that is so minimal so it doesn't make any sense. People should go on with their regular jobs and businesses while investing in bitcoin and altcoins. If they stay in this forum and have fun reading and commenting then pretty sure they themselves will discover the ways to earn and it is up to them if they pursue achieving high ranks if they are interested in joining bounty campaigns.

If you love wars, history, and geography you can play European War VII - Medieval. It's like a chess game but the pieces you are controlling are your armies. You will also manage your cities while conquering other cities that are at war with you.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 10, 2023, 08:24:23 AM
Clean win for Strickland over Izzy. I don’t think many people were expecting that. Drake lost half a million dollars on the fight but I guess that probably doesn’t mean very much to him. I’m surprised the way it looked like Izzy prettt much accepted his fate and threw in the towel towards the end. It didn’t look like he left it all out there.

Alex Periera ruined him. The psychological effects on Israel Adesanya made him a different guy. His confidence is no longer the same while his opponents are getting confident after seeing that he is not really invincible. The way Sean Strickland is pressuring him and acting like he is not afraid that much of getting hit because he wants to be the hunter and wants to land his bombs badly, made Adesanya uncomfortable.

I don't know what's next for Adesanya. I wonder if they can demand a rematch clause on their contracts or the UFC is totally the one deciding their next fights. But hopefully, Strickland can defend his belt against other contenders before a possible rematch.
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do star players affect the odds of a match bet? on: September 10, 2023, 07:59:37 AM
Let's think of it this way;
If Al Nassr didn't have Mane and Ronaldo, they wouldn't be almost heavy favorites in every match, right?
The fact that Ronaldo and Mane's names are in the starting XI every game shows that Al Nassr are heavy odds-on favorites against their opponents, which could indicate that Al Nassr can score at least 2-3 goals every game. Looking at their last games, Al Nassr have managed to score 4 goals or more, almost all of them scored by Mane and Ronaldo.

Agreed. It's not really that hard to answer which made me laugh when the topic was raised. It's a no-brainer unless someone is not really that keen on sports gambling. The fact that these superstars are paid heavily means they are well-proven to players and they matter a lot for a team to win. The same thing when they are also injured as it will obviously hurt their team's chances of winning, unlike their other teammates who have a lesser impact on their team.

That is why it is important for teams to sign star players when they have the chance because they can bring their plays to higher levels.
980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 10, 2023, 07:38:14 AM
[....]
Yeah between USA and Canada I don't expect anything I don't see anything interesting I wouldn't place a bet there, I'm afraid they are playing like behind the scenes you probably understand what I mean  Roll Eyes
A fixed game? I don't know about that. There's too much ego at stake for team USA not to win the bronze medal. They would be a laughing stock back home if they don't. They are already embarrassed enough so they should at least finish the tournament with a win. Canada may not have that same drive but I bet they would still want to show they can win. These two teams will most likely become close rivals in the world stage for a few more years.

I doubt there is a game fixing in the battle for the bronze. At the very least, it could be that some American players aren't that interested in the 3rd place and will lose the fire in them. But I am pretty sure that their coach Steve Kerr wants to win the 3rd place. This is a challenge to him and he will do everything to enlighten his team in getting a win. The same with Canada, they want this 3rd place and then come back stronger next year in the Paris Olympics with their experience.

Less than an hour already before it starts. I actually have ML bets on Canada and Serbia.
