981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 10, 2023, 07:18:20 AM
Now that I have seen these two faced-off I can say that the fight is sure now and it is near than we are expecting it, because October 28 is not a far away, Here is the video of their face-off https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oPEJl_PuLE

And in that video not disgracing body fats or body figure because they are unique that way and Tyson Fury is so sure about still beating Francis Ngannou with his belly intact for sure I have seen men do it inside the ring, their fatness is never a hinder for them, and Tyson Fury also quote that " He is fat as a pig and still number 1" for sure that are all facts, Tyson Fury can be fat but still become a great champion and boxer but not all that has the same body figure like Fury can become champion and great from boxing for sure,

What interested me more was the way Tyson Fury said that he would beat Francis Ngannou in the ring and would also beat him in a cage which contradicted the 1st thing he said that he would not go inside the cage with Ngannou, This it just a statement without any meaning for Tyson Fury further hyping the fight for sure, but here is the video of what he have said, https://www.youtube.com/shorts/i_W0stMKh7Y

Very talkative people most of the time won't remember their words. Many of their words are without value to them since they just want to talk more and convince people to watch their fights. Only casuals and fanboys will believe that Tyson Fury and Jake Paul will rematch their opponents in a full MMA rule next year. Tyson Fury is obviously not number 1. He only got 1 belt, the WBC. That #1 status belongs to Oleksandr Usyk, he's got the Ring belt, the WBA, the IBF, and the WBO.

^^ I saw glimpse of the face-off, as usual Tyson Fury started to run his mouth again, but Francis just keep calm and then point to the belly of Fury, lol. As we all know, Francis body is solid as compare to Fury who has not have a good body but he was able to carry that so no complains.

And I also see Mike Tyson really putting his works to train Francis here. Maybe he saw something in Francis that he can upset Fury. Just to sharpen his boxing skills and footwork and then the timing of letting his hands to go score a knockout. It's going to be devastating to see Francis knocking out Fury in return.
Hopefully, Big Belly gets KO'd by Francis but it is very unlikely. Mike Tyson can share all his knowledge and hype about Francis' chances of winning but he cannot transform him into a decent boxer in just a few months.

I dislike people requesting for tips when they watch us winning. They don't know the reality behind our win. They just watch us winning and request tip. I don't say they're wrong, at times we'll be very down due to big losses and slowly we'll be making something to compensate what we've lost. By the time they gamblers request tip and sometimes this itself create some fear, if we don't tip we might loss. Nowadays we've got features that can be used to avoid these kind of acts.

That's actually annoying. Especially those people who are known to ask for tips every time they know people who won something material.

Asking and giving tips are also normal here in my country if you are into peer-to-peer betting where middlemen are the ones looking for a match to your bet and they will arrange the deals. But I also don't like it. In the end, I have better net wins using an online betting site rather than going through peer-to-peer betting. Also, it keeps me private avoiding people near you asking for tips when you're winning something big.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 10, 2023, 06:37:26 AM
So bad. This fight is off. It's already circulating quickly in the boxing community since yesterday. I don't know who's right or wrong. The purse bid was called off after PBC and Martin allowed Top Rank and ESPN to handle this fight. But once Martin receives the contract, he don't want to sign it citing he was low-balled by Shakur and Top Rank. Martin is guaranteed over a million dollars which will be his biggest purse in his career which seems very good already knowing this is also his first title fight. I guess he is okay with that money which is actually very big already but he felt low-balled upon knowing that Shakur is guaranteed $5 million.

PBC fans will call this a low blow but Top Rank fans will call Martin greedy. Shakur is obviously the A-side here. Shakur just moved up but prior to that, he was a former 2-division world champion, former unified champion, and lineal champion at 130.

The WBC, Shakur, and Top Rank are now looking at who's next in the rankings. But hopefully, they can still settle the issue. Maybe give Frank Martin $1.5 million before giving up on him. If Martin refuses then he is missing his chance of a title fight. I doubt Martin can contest and tell the WBC to make the purse bid since he and PBC already called it off in favor of Top Rank.

Sure you can mate. You can share your picks and bets on the many gambling threads depending on which football leagues you are following most. But you can also create your own separate thread so you can track all your picks. You can make a summary of all your winnings and losses every now and then. People will follow you more once you can show a good winning percentage.

I remember when I was following an e-sport tipster a few years ago. It was profitable but in the following year, it was the opposite. So I guess tipsters also have bad and good seasons which is the same reason why I never tried paying subscription fees to some tipsters.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 09, 2023, 06:05:09 PM
I expect all these NBA big stars to represent their nations next year in the Paris Olympics. It'll be exciting to watch the best Serbian, American, and French squads competing next year.

They are alarmed by what happened recently, and they will surely ensure that next time in international competition, they can bounce back. It's a wake-up call for them, I guess, and it makes them realize that other countries are becoming more competitive now, especially the European teams. They can't be too complacent because this tournament is not the same as it was years ago.

That's why the upcoming Olympics will be more interesting, as we will see how the USA tries to prove to the world that they are still the best in basketball competition. They can bring in veterans with high IQ in the game, maybe LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Embiid, and Leonard. These guys are very athletic but, of course, they should be mixed with younger superstars as well so they can truly dominate. Changing the coach would also be a good idea, as the players I mentioned might not play at a fast pace, which is the reason why Team USA was composed of young players.

These are just my speculations and opinions, though. I am just quite upset with what happened, and I want to see a very dominant Team USA roster so that competing countries will be tested and may learn to improve more their brand of basketball.

I am curious if Lebron James will still compete at 38 years old. But he is probably the oldest American to play in their team. The same with KD although he is younger so he might really play. Kawhi Leonard has a big contract yet he only played a few games during his stay with the Clippers so I assume that his team won't allow him to play outside the NBA. I heard before that both the US and France want Joel Embiid. Maybe Embiid will finally decide which country he will represent next year. Will it be the defending champions USA or the host country France?

My first reaction after looking at the pictures was the Suzuki brand taxi which was my first time. Anyways, for BTC fanatics the taxi initials also looked like BTC as in bitcoin. But obviously, it is not really bitcoin related since it's colored red which is the opposite a bitcoin believer wanted. It should've been orange or green for the bull run and not red which represents a bearish season. But for someone who is curious, entering BTC in Google means bitcoin although I am not sure if it is the same in other places.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 09, 2023, 04:39:07 PM
It's just very unfortunate that it will go down again in history as the year that the US didn't win the Gold medal.

At least, we can't compare the current one to the previous World Cup when Team USA also got eliminated where the roster is mostly NBA superstars and best-of-the-best. Since Team USA announced their projective lineup before the official FIBA World Cup this year and following their lineup on their window games, I really have thought that Team USA might not make it to the Finals and I even mentioned that before.

Let's give credit to other countries that have shown improvement in this year's Cup. It doesn't mean that "it's Team USA" they are always the team to beat. Going back to the recent game between Team USA and Team Germany, the game is intense and overall, close. That's always the type of game we want to see at the most crucial stage of this tournament.

Congrats Team Germany for finally making their first appearance in the FIBA World Cup. Dirk Nowitzki is no doubt, surely happy.

The US always remains the favorite during FIBA World Cups but I am also not expecting them to win. They're young and they lack the FIBA type of experience. It was a close game against the Germans but they were never allowed to have continuous momentum. Edwards started a late rally and nearly pulled it up until he himself committed a big turnover in the dying seconds of the game. Great game and it was fun seeing the favorites lose to the underdogs. I have an ML bet on Canada to also beat the US. It should be fun and intriguing since Canada nearly has a 100% NBA roster.
The hype came back when they had impressive win after losing to Lithuania. Germany has really built a great system that even the best talents in the NBA could not defeat. I say 'best talents' because the USA wouldn't send a team they thought would not win. It was just the experience that was a huge disadvantage on their part. In addition, European teams have already caught up with the fast-paced style of basketball. In the NBA, some players are dominating, namely, Luka, Jokic, and Giannis.

Yeah, the US bounced back strong with a huge destruction on Italy, the only team that beat Serbia. While Germany struggled against Latvia and barely escaped with a win. The FIBA experience is a big factor for this young American team. They are built for endurance since the NBA has a grueling 82 regular games in a few months span which also involves a lot of travels. Whereas in FIBA all players are conditioned for a few weeks of tournament with a 40-minute per game.

It will be interesting to see if the US can also defend its gold medal in the Olympics next year. The US's most prominent basketball stars usually play only during the Olympics which is why they continue to dominate it through the years while ignoring the FIBA World Cup.

I guess I'm gonna be placing my bet on the USA here.

The US will be very difficult to beat during the Olympics. They will be bringing to Paris their experienced and more proven superstars like Jayson Tatum, Steph Curry, and many more. But I actually feel bored if no teams are capable of giving them a close game. Maybe the Canadian team earned their experience this FIBA and will play better in Paris next year. Serbia will also have around half of their lineup from the NBA including Jokic. The French team will also play at home along with Wembayama who's used to FIBA type of basketball.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 09, 2023, 04:03:06 PM
Now, the Finals will be more unpredictable.

It's official: Serbia vs. Germany.

I'm eagerly waiting for the betting odds. I think Serbia will be the slight favorite here, but regardless, I would still bet on Serbia to win. Germany could be stopped if Schroder is limited, which might make them struggle a bit, but it's a question of how Serbia will accomplish that.
Both really are unpredictable and it wasn't expected that they'll be the teams to reach the finals. I'm on that thought of what if is Jokic was even part of the national team of Serbia then for sure that many will choose them as the favorites.

The odds for this match aren't that much and it seems that they're just equal. It's hard to have an insight when odds are like this.

You'll never know what could happen tomorrow but both Germany and Serbia deserve to be there when everybody thought that it's Canada and USA that will face in the finals.

Serbia came to the world cup without 2-3 best players that would be in the start line up. But still without those players they are dominating and Germany came with their best players and are showing results. I still give the edge to Serbia because of their amazing defence.

Yeah, I am pretty sure Serbia has more than 5 NBA players at the moment and only 3 of them are playing here in the FIBA World Cup. I thought Serbia would be a slight favorite over Germany but I am wrong. But still, I am betting on Serbia as well. Germany has deadly shooters so putting pressure on Schroder and not allowing him to make many plays will disrupt their offense. And Serbia has a good defense.

I expect all these NBA big stars to represent their nations next year in the Paris Olympics. It'll be exciting to watch the best Serbian, American, and French squads competing next year.

Between Lebron, AD, Rui, Russel, Reaves, Vanderbilt and Wood, they actually have a pretty decent roster if you ask me. Their season depends on injuries of course, Lebron is 38 years old and he will be 39 somewhere in there, so he may lose some games, and also AD is prone to injury as we all know it.

But, if they minimize their injury and play during the playoff as well, then this team could make some big damage. I know that it is not really the best team in the league, I am not saying that they are going to be good enough to win the title, but at the very least they will make some dent, and maybe like conference finals or something. West has a few good teams that is for sure, but Lakers will be one of them this season without a doubt.
I think that's why they took Christian Wood and that's to minimize the injury of Anthony Davis. If they can somehow get a good lead when AD is around then they can use Wood to substitute him and take his rest. This way, the Lakers could strengthen their Finals appearance one more time.
True, it's a solid roster so chemistry will be the only problem after adding Wood, but when it comes to the other players, I think last year already says it all. Even when they played for the play-in tournament they somehow appeared in the Conference Finals which is amazing.

The Lakers will be more about protecting AD and Bron from suffering injuries this season. The Lakers are not the best team in the NBA on paper right now but a single injury from the other teams' big stars can easily put this current roster at a championship level. They have deep experience and have good players in all their roles. I also expect Lebron to be given 30sh minutes at best in the regular season. Wood can play 4 and 5 and he is also a decent 3-point shooter that is enough to scatter the defense of the opposing teams.

The West is back as the most crowded with top teams in the NBA. Denver, Phoenix, and the Lakers are fully pumped. We also saw how dangerous the Pelicans are if they have a healthy Zion on the court. And I wonder if Ja Morant learned a lot and fully committed himself to the sport.
991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 08, 2023, 12:17:39 PM
Another good fight in boxing. Both fighters have the skills but I believe Shakur Stevenson's skills are at the other level. What Frank Martin has is he is used to this division or even higher so he is the stronger guy. We shall see if Shakur gains power gaining weight or he's power remains mediocre. Nonetheless, Martin has to show no respect for Shakur if he wants to win this fight.

What makes this more exciting is it is a battle between PBC and Showtime versus Top Rank and ESPN. Top Rank and ESPN are the ones handling this fight. As far as I remember since the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, Top Rank has 3 wins with a draw while losing none over PBC. Two Tyson Fury wins over Deontay Wilder and a draw and the latest was Naoya Inoue's dominating win over former unified champion Stephen Fulton. If Bud Crawford hadn't left Top Rank, it would've been another solid victory by Top Rank over PBC.

Seems like PBC's big stars are hyped inside their network but lose big time every time they face the other networks' stars. Tank Davis is the only remaining undefeated PPV star of PBC and I also believe that Top Rank's Shakur will put him in school in dominating fashion.

Someone i know who has been doing pretty well on FIBA bets (100k usd profit apparently) has touted canada easy win today (11+ points)

I havent been betting much of fiba but when i did i got burned by USA , lithuania Sad

Do guys here like canada to win today too?

ML? why not, but it's not good odds though, it's just around 1.49 but if you can throw big money then maybe it will get you good returns. However, I'm thinking that Serbia might give everything they got in the semis against NBA laden Canadian team.

Maybe they will go rough and play good defense against Canada and hopefully their outside shooting will click so that the defense might spread. Canada though is going one on one with SGA. But it's not a one man team thats's why it's hard how the Serbs are going to upset them. The over and under is -/+4.5 and there could be more money in that odds.

And you were right. It was a total domination by Serbia against the NBA-laden team of Canada. Overall it was not a bad performance by Canada, it's just that they could not keep up the pace of the Serbs. NBA players are known to be more physical, athletic, and defensive but they were shocked at how Serbia beat them in their own game. Canada still had good shots in the basket but damn, the huge accuracy by the Serbs is unbelievable. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was limited to just below 20 points compared to his previous 30+ points.

Coming up next. The USA is a big favorite over Germany. An upset is not out of the table but I do hope we'll see an exciting game.

Well, if the phone is not necessary anymore since you have another one then it is a wise move. The value of that phone will depreciate fast over time while the value of your satoshis will be worth more than double next year or by 2025. There is a risk of course but I guess most of us here are very confident of a major bull run during and after bitcoin halvings as what we've seen in the past.

Another suggestion OP is to make a regular dollar-cost averaging. Maybe doing it monthly even in small amounts will do while the price is still cheap.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: September 08, 2023, 11:08:04 AM
I haven't seen enough hype about this fight. The media is more focused on Canelo and Crawford nowadays. I wonder if Eddie made the right call by signing Regis Prograis and Devin Haney. These guys aren't cheap and will be paid millions of dollars but they need to sell tickets, PPV, and convince companies for sponsorships. Maybe the fans are tired of Haney's boring style and while Prograis packs a punch, he is not that popular to the casuals.

Fight is still months to go so there are no hype currently. But maybe when the fight approaches, they are going to sell this fight as both are trash talkers. I do agree that Eddie might have sign this boxers for good amount of money so he needs to get it back. But not sure how, they need some good storyline to sell this fight to the boxing fans. And Eddie might be losing money in the end.

There's only one reason why the fight was moved: people are not interested in watching it. I'm not sure if this will really happen despite the announcement that it could take place later this year. It still depends on how the fans will react to this fight. If it's not going to be profitable for the promoters, it will likely be off this year. I would bet on the outcome; I think it's not going to happen this year.

With lots of exciting fights happening now, who would want to watch Haney, a somewhat boring boxer, against a non-popular champion?

It might be true. The real hype starts once the date of the fight is getting nearer. Both do not like each other right now so we might see an exciting press conference and face-offs during the fight week. Selling tickets in the venue might not be that hard but I guess the PPV buys will be only around 200k. Hopefully, we'll see good matchups in the undercards.

Maybe we'll make a friendly bet, I believe this fight will happen this year. Grin I still watch this fight live because I want to see if Regis Prograis can land his power shots on Devin Haney. Regis is not that popular but I like him, he is exciting to me because he knocks people out.
995  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 08, 2023, 10:33:23 AM
Honestly, I am planning to withdraw as much as possible from other investments and then switch its process to bitcoin and a few altcoins. I know the market is not guaranteed but since the birth of bitcoin the 4-year cycle always made huge bull runs during the halving and after the halving year.

Local stocks here are performing badly and some of them are even worse than the altcoin market. Real estate is the most stable and reliable in my country but it is slow moving which tempted me at times to even sell my house and then put some of the amount into crypto. It's not going to hurt me since I love moving from place to place.
To be honest it's not right when you try to attract more altcoin investments so that later everything will be transferred to bitcoins. If the existing scenario goes well then thankfully you have the opportunity to switch it to bitcoin, then what happens if the scenario doesn't go according to our wishes. For me it is better to take a holistic approach to bitcoin even if using slightly smaller capital, compared to placing altcoins on the targets we want to do.

I see that also, because there are many local stock conditions that are underperforming at the moment, either due to inflation or recession. Real estate is still quite stable, but the effort to get involved in it is quite a drain on large funds, so there will be very little opportunity for us to develop it now. Selling your house to get involved in crypto may not be the only good way and you need to re-examine the opportunity.

You're right, most of my altcoins except ethereum are in very bad situations right now. I was just trying to catch the lowest prices on some of the altcoins but it might cost me more in order to average down. Although I am confident that they will be in profit by next year or after the halving year, it would've been better if I stuck to just bitcoin and ethereum and then only switched some into risky altcoins once the bull run starts. Nonetheless, bitcoin at the moment is 68% of my portfolio, ethereum at 15%, and the other risky altcoins at around 17%.

I was tempted to sell the house because I believe it is easy money. Like if I sell it now and buy bitcoin at $25k, I am confident my capital will be doubled by next year or by 2024. Although it is going to be too risky.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 07, 2023, 08:08:05 AM
I don't hate gamblers, I mean responsible gamblers. What I don't like is when a gambler has other obligations but still continues to allocate a big part of his income to gambling. I know some people who continue to gamble and then later on will go to their friends and relatives to borrow or ask for money for their family's regular consumption.

I am also not a fan of people who believe they can earn big through gambling. Most of these people I observed are struggling financially so it's like they are putting their hope to change their fate in gambling which is very wrong.

Napakahirap isipin ng gagawin if ever mangyari to halos lahat ngayon ang buhay dumudepende na sa internet.

Sobrang hirap talaga kung sakaling mangyari man. Pero sa tingin ko malabo to mangyari in the near future.

999  Economy / Economics / Re: Stable coin or having USD in bank on: September 07, 2023, 07:12:25 AM
I'm curious as to what you think you can control if you have money in the bank. Because I think you can completely control it with the right stuff and important things that you have to do.

Things you can control
  • Withdraw/Deposit money in the bank
  • Invest it in assets or bonds in the bank
  • Your account and where it will go

You cannot control
  • The market (Whether it's stable coin or any other market
  • What the bank does with your money

You will still have the money in your account but technically they would invest it in something and it's numbers on your account etc. As long as your bank is reputable, you have nothing to worry about and if it is insured, etc., you wouldn't have a problem with it.

I think the post essence makes it seem that it is a deciding factor to have that "control" but I don't think it is.
If your bank is "reputable," do you think you have complete control over your funds? Even the most renowned institutions can make serious mistakes.

Fractional reserve banking is a sophisticated Ponzi scheme used by banks. Each monetary deposit is held in reserve at a fraction. The rest? Market-injected or loaned. You stated numbers, but it's also a tightrope over an abyss.

With Bitcoin and decentralized systems on the rise, banks' illusion of control is fading. DeFi gives people direct asset control without middlemen. Your control comprehension is simple but lacks depth and fails to see economic trends.

It is good that bitcoin and decentralization are making new economic trends. But this way, banks are also trying to innovate themselves in order to continue attracting people. But of course, I still prefer a decentralized system rather than the centralized banks that are using our own money to grow their businesses.

Here in my country, reputable banks or not, as long as the bank is insured by our national standards then you will have no problems with your deposits unless you are wanted by the state, and your account will be frozen.
