You mean except when he tries to overtake Hamilton ?
RedBull used to throw away drivers who were just "consistent" but not fast enough, maybe now that they have one of the best drivers they care less about the other driver, I don't know. From what the commentators on Sky are saying Albon needs to be faster. Being at some point in races last or almost last fighting with Williams is really not a good look.
Also Verstappen has had several mechanical retirements otherwise he would have many more points.
Red Bull would switch Albon in a heartbeat if they had a better option, I would too if I was in charge. They are not changing simply because they saw that Gasly was no fast enough, same as Albon is not fast enough. His driving style and "calmness" are irrelevant, what is relevant is that he is so much slower then Max. No team that aims to win a title can accept that 2nd driver is slower then first driver that much. Imagine any championship winning team from past having that slower 2nd driver? Imagine if Bottas was that slower then Hamilton, he would not be in Mercedes 100% sure. You need both drivers to be really close if you are aiming for constructors.

Big disappointment for Red Bull and Alpha Tauri. I think Verstappen will leave Red Bull for sure in the coming years.
The only solution at the moment is Renault for them. Mercedes and Ferrari will probably not going to sell the engine to a competitor with the fear to be beaten. They also want a competive engines and the only one they can probably have is the Renaul. Keep also in mind F1 will also reduce costs from 2022 with the SALARY CAP and with new cars and the new cars are a good opportunity for new big companies, some of them according of rumors already asked informations about it.

RedBull / Renault have had many successful years but in the end there was a lot of tension in this relationship!

I can see no other big option, the only other option is the less competitive Ferrari. I can't see Mercedes sells his engine to a really treating competitor. If I can remember correctly a few years ago Ferrari was already near to selling engines to Ferrari before Honda.

It's really sad to see Honda going out of F1 again. Especially now when they started to make really good engines compared to what Mclaren had few years ago. And now Red Bull are in very complicated situation. They don't have any other option than Renault. We all know how they divorced, so it will be interesting to watch how they will work together again. Porsche is possible option, but I think it won't happen before 2026 when there will be new engine rules. Until then it's not likely that new manufacturers will come to F1, Ross Brawn said it few months ago. If I can remember correctly a few years ago Ferrari was already near to selling engines to Ferrari Red Bull before Honda.

It would be very silly from Mercedes to sell engines to another team in the championship. Also you are seeing Renault as a competitor due to Alonso, I am sure for that. Not because of the car that they have because it is not strong at the moment and I think it would not be strong in the next season as well... In my opinion, one driver cannot make any difference... Just see the example of Raikkonen in Alfa Romeo.

If Red Bull wanted a good driver Alonso is available ! But Red Bull only wants drivers it has brought up itself.
The Renault car is not that bad, it's much better than an Alfa Romeo or a Williams or a Haas. Clearly the Ferrari engine is horrible and not helping two of these three teams, but still. I don't understand how it's possible that Grosjean has been having brake troubles for years at Haas for example.
I think Honda was ready to stay for the long run, however COVID hasn't helped, and their reason make sense : electric cars are the future, Formula 1 will have a big problem a few years from now with its combustion engines. I don't understand why they're not at least going to ethanol from a renewable source as a fuel.

Why should want RedBull a driver like Alonso, RedBull already have a young, good driver for the future. You would need a powerful engine now to give Max a car that Mercedes can beat. I don't think electro is the future either, and nobody is interested in motorsport either. I've already seen Formula E, there is nothing more boring than that without all the "free tickets" nobody would look at. Just like MotoE that doesn't even work on its own. It may be different with synthetic fuel.

The Red Bull second driver situation is a bit silly. They've got themselves in the position where they can't really swap Albon back without looking stupid. But at the same time, bringing in someone like Alonso to partner Max would probably be a big mistake. Alonso and Max - like Lewis - are the sort of drivers who need to be number one in their teams. I think an Alonso/Max partnership, whilst great for viewers, would lead to trouble for the team in the manner of Hamilton/Rosberg from a few years back.

~snip~ Rossi still hasn't give permission to his brother to become a MotoGP racer next year.
Luca Marini is doing well in Moto2, currently leading the 2020 Moto2 standings. He should deserve to go up to MotoGP. I heard other news regarding Luca that he wants to join Avintia's satellite team, Ducati. But Avintia has a contract with Tito Rabat and they will continue that contract.

Alonso is not available he will be a Mclaren driver and this is official for months. Also as we talked here days ago, we are going back to RedBull-Renault... They are now talking about the possibility do use only engines from 2022 or 2025 made by 1 team but I don't think it will happen, Mercedes will never run with a Ferrari engine and Ferrari will never run with a Mercedes engine.

They won't switch anything since they have 2 drivers that are on a similar level, I don't see that Gasly is that much better then Albon and they know that too. If Gasly would go back to Red Bull he would underperform same as Albon is doing now.

indeed, there are rumors that Avintia wants to replace Rabat with Marini. However, the team's desire to do so was unavoidable, because Rabat is the son of one of Avintia's sponsors. Maybe they don't want to lose the financial supply from Rabat Jewelry, sp they decided to keep Rabat until the contract expires in 2021. On the other news, there is a possibility that Rossi's team, Sky Racing VR46 reportedly will participate in the MotoGP event in 2022, it could be that Marini will become a rider for the Rossi team. For Marini i think it's a good beginning at Avintia he have a chance to join his brother team in 2022, maybe

I was reading some news.
This year of Ferrari can be a good advantage for them for 2022 with the start of the revolution (part 1). Basically they introduced in the last year the salary cap.
In Formula 1 this cap will be "effective" starting from now but applicable in 2022. An effect of this cap is the following.
Starting from this season the worse you will go the more advantage will have later, they give you the possibility for a potential recovery.
As today if the Championship will end with these results with Mercedes 1st and Ferrari 6th than in 2022 Ferrari can do around 15% more tests than Mercedes.
This can be a BIG deal especially when everyone has a "semi-fresh" start.

I like the idea to support the worst performers more as this gives them the possibility to do better.I really hope they implement it as it will lead to more competition in F1 and this is the end result we are all looking forward to.We want to see fierce battles between 3-4 teams fighting for victory.

This is good in general, but they are looking at other approaches too, some of which are controversial. I know they are really pushing for reverse grid qualifying... which just sounds unfair, and I hope it doesn't go ahead. This is where instead of the normal qualifying, they have a short race - say 30 minutes - where the drivers line up in reverse championship order. Then the results in this race determine the starting positions in the actual race.

For the rest of MotoGP, this week's race will take place in France, looking at the track here I think it is a good track for Honda, Ducati and KTM. There are a lot of straight tracks here and I think Yamaha will struggle. Last year's history, Marquez won and Dovizioso finished second. But anything can still happen, I'm just guessing maybe Ducati will get on the podium this week.

This cannot happen if Formula 1 where is some track is impossibile to overtake. They can MAYBE do half grid reverse and give points for the polepostion but in tracks like Monaco teams will end to go slower to take a better position in the starting grid.

Alonso is not available he has been announced by Renault many months ago. On top of that, a driver such as Alonso would be a mistake to sign for Red Bull when a rising talent and skilled driver is already there - talking about Max. There would be many conflicts to the teammates same as those when Hamilton signed for Mercedes and driving along Rosberg.
