I would suggest that he reads the entire book of John and the other gospels to know the truth about God and his chosen son-Jesus. Later on, read the book of Revelations to find out why his post is a manifestation of the prophecies and what impact it has on his won life.

I read John's gospel, thank you, but I didn't finish the book of revelations. Most of the Bible has "some" historical value, but the Revelations don't.

Actually, the Book of Revelations was just a document picked from many similar others that were excluded from the Bible because were thought to be unorthodox.

That IV century priests thought they had the authority to exclude texts from apostles say much about how human and arbitrary is the content of the Bible.

I would suggest that he reads the entire book of John and the other gospels to know the truth about God and his chosen son-Jesus. Later on, read the book of Revelations to find out why his post is a manifestation of the prophecies and what impact it has on his won life.

I read John's gospel, thank you, but I didn't finish the book of revelations. Most of the Bible has "some" historical value, but the Revelations don't.

Actually, the Book of Revelations was just a document picked from many similar others that were excluded from the Bible because were thought to be unorthodox.

There is even a Gospel attributed to Saint Peter, but (surprise!) was excluded from the Bible (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_Peter).

That IV century priests thought they had the authority to exclude texts from apostles say much about how human and arbitrary is the content of the Bible.

Perhaps so, but Spirituality itself is not an arbitrary teaching, as shown by scientific volumes like "Reincarnation and Biology" and "Irreducible Mind".  And what is arbitrary within the text that I just linked? It is a sound teaching, which is refreshing to read, so do not throw away all inspired texts indiscriminately, they will often have something substantial to teach you; for details on how to do a rhetorical analysis of inspired writing consult the papers "A Field Guide to Critical Thinking", and for an exampe see "The Problem of Seth's Origin".
